Introduction

Hey, I’m the new FM Director. I look forward to directing the team et al. I have some stuff I wanna work on in regards to bans, status updates, and rules for the rp subforums. More on that later.

Upcoming Projects

• Ban System Rework: I got the idea from dsdevil’s thread about reworking in game bans, as well as a situation that evolved during my last stint as director. I am looking for community feedback about this change, cus it will change a lot of the ways that banned players are able to interact with the forums. First, banned players will no longer have to make a separate appeal account. They will just be unable to post/read anywhere except the ban appeals subforum. Second, we will begin to ban players less from access to the forums as a whole. Instead, these individuals will instead only be banned from the ooc portion of the forums while still being able to access the roleplay/trade/guild/(frp?) subforums. Obviously, not everyone will fall into this special category, but simply the ones who we feel can still contribute positively to the story of the server and its overall environment. Also, and this part is mostly still just a concept, the people who fall into this category would not be banned ingame- or something to that effect. Idk that’s down to future talks with the gm team. If you have any q’s about this whole idea, feel free to ask. I’m still ironing out the details myself.

• Rp Subforum Rules Trim: There are some pretty outdated rules there. I saw a comment recently(a few weeks ago) by Dalek giving feedback about fms hiding halfling posts in their subforum, in reference to the anon character rule. I think some of the rules like that needa be updated or trashed, because they’re often enforced more than they should be.

• Status Update Rule Integration: Status updates are kinda out of the loop in terms of being integrated into our rule book. Looking to clear things up in situations anywhere from ‘so and so will fall soon’ to staff teams spamming the feed with adverts.

If you feel like anything crucial is missing, let me know and I'll add it next time. For this one I copied the formatting I had from last year and looked at chorale's last log as well.
