SECTION I - THE EVIL ON THE HORIZON

 

Dearly beloved, for many years now the dual Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska has faced the innumerable hordes of the Inferi and undead, successfully so but alas not without the loss of good Canonist lives. It is after speaking with his Majesty Karl III, that we came to an agreement. This force is of great power, a power we cannot fight divided and must face together. 

 

We have begrudgingly begun to establish temporary truces even with old enemies to cooperate to end this evil quickly. We urge our Canonist brothers to lay their arms aside and coordinate with their Canonist brethren. We can ill afford to be unprepared for what is to come. The Canonist Church and Inquisition alongside the Knights of Haense have begun to investigate, and we invite the Kings of Aaun and Balian, and the Archduchess of Petra to join us so we can be prepared.

SECTION II - RESULTS OF THE RECONVENED COUNCIL

 

Dearly beloved, it was in the year 1891 that the Holy See summoned its faithful ministers to the abbey of Saint Robert of Metz to be in attendance at Ecumenical Council to debate and vote upon potential changes pertaining to Canon Law. Though we failed to discuss all pressing matters at once, and instead considered it prudent to delay and reconvene some other date.

We are as of this year overjoyed to report, therefore, that the Ecumenical Council was reconvened and all matters were properly discussed and voted upon. And that, with that much said, more information shall be released in the near future as we work on getting things codified.

SECTION III - ECCLESIASTIC CENSUS

 

It was in the year of our Lord 1896 that Our Prelate of the Clergy, Cyrus Cardinal Albarosa, first published the Census of the Ecclesiastic Register at Our request in an attempt to properly document and confirm all members of the cloth to best ensure the shepherding of the Holy Mother Church for the current generation and the generations yet to come.

Filling out this Ecclesiastic Register as a result of such became a strict requirement for all members of the clergy, from simple parish priests to Cardinals of the College of Cardinals alike. It was stressed, as a result, that all members of the cloth failing to fill this form within a specific number of years be defrocked, and thus, stripped of their priestly status and assumed inactive.

Thus it is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that we proclaim that all priests that failed to fill the Ecclesiastic Register out in time be officially defrocked until such a time comes that they reach out to the Holy Mother Church and be given the chance to once more return to God’s servitude and be reordained by Our Prelate.

SECTION IV - CURIA APPOINTMENTS

 

The Pontificate thanks Cardinal Markos for his service when we most needed him, but the good father has since grown distant, unable or unwilling to attend to his duties and councils. We see only one option, dismissal. We only strip him of his title as Cardinal and Curia appointment, he may return to his diocese in Aquila.

In light of this we have found a deserving replacement for the Pontifical Secretariat. His Highness, Ottomar von Alstreim has often written to Us, aided us in our writings and helped settle our thoughts. We see him as an ideal replacement and hope his skills and faith will only strengthen through his leal service to our Lord God and our Holy Mother Church. Alongside this We also appoint Father Teodosio as interim Auditor of the Tribunal, until His Eminence, Father Armand’s unfortunate injuries have healed.

SECTION V - RESTRUCTURING THE SEPTARCHY

 

With the dismissal of Cardinal Markos, it leaves Us with a vacant seat. This seat we find that Father Teodosio of Atrus is the most fitting choice for. Time and time again he has proven his diligence, faith and modesty. We welcome him with open arms into the College of Cardinals.

SECTION VI - THE INQUISITION

In the first section We mentioned Our Inquisition. We were approached by a penitent Kazimir of Vidaus. He had committed the greatest of sins, but in his eyes, We saw a passion and most importantly great piety.

We made a leap of faith, which the Creator often demands of us. We granted Kazimir consent to reform the Order of Saint Nicolas following his penance in the image he saw fit. Some Saint’s Days later he was prepared and We again gave him consent to formally found this new order.

 

We place our imprimatur upon this new Holy Inquisition, with the core objective thereof the purging and eradication of darkspawn from human society entirely. They shall take direct inspiration from the old Lectors of Owyn and the Marked Men. It is clear that amassing an army and marching upon the darkspawn does not purge, it only scares them. With the powers of alchemy and superior weaponry, We believe this Inquisition will be successful, it must be successful. For the safety of humanity is at stake. Too often common men and women approached the Throne of Saint Daniel, and confessed that their beloved have been infected by evil, but what can the Holy Mother Church do without the knowledge to cure this? We have relied on others to do this for us, yet with the formation of this Inquisition, believe such will come to change.

SECTION VII - BEATIFICATIONS

 

It is through Our Apostolic Authority that We affirm the following beatifications…

 

BLESSED HIGH PONTIFF EVERARD VI

Beatified in recognition of a miracle that occurred during the time of the short-lived Michaelite Schism, where it was reported by many that after the failed attempt on His Holiness’ life the High Pontiff levitated for some time as he was giving a speech before the Haeseni in Karosgrad.

 

BLESSED HIGH PONTIFF TYLOS II

Beatified in recognition of a miracle that occurred during His Holiness’ lifetime, namely having prayed over the then-ailing Duke of Drusco as he lay bedridden and cured him of his blindness and bedridden state. Said Duke would later commit himself to serving our Lord himself and be venerated as Venerable Remus Lucien Ashford de Bar for his many miracles and divine visions. 

BLESSED KING SIGISMUND III OF HANSETI-RUSKA
Beatified in recognition of his steadfast defense of the Holy Mother Church as Fidei Defensor and a miracle that occurred following his passing during which, as an infant lay dying as the result of breathing complications, Sigismund cured them after having been prayed to.
 

BLESSED MOTHER MAYA CECILIYA BARBANOV

Beatified in recognition of her steadfast dedication as a priest of the Holy Mother Church and a miracle that occurred following her passing during which she came to the aid of three Canonists, beset with illness, and showed them compassion, intervening on their behalf and curing them.
