Ibn Khaldun 7729 Share Posted June 1, 2023 Spoiler A beautiful work and one that I greatly appreciate. I never really found myself impressed with the writing style of George RR Martin and his morally grey tone or the amoral aesthetics of grimdark fiction which tends to be what a lot of recent lore butts up against. Tolkien managed a high fantasy aesthetic with an almost fable-like undergirding where virtues were upheld and fables could be found - a purpose beyond mere tickling the fancy - and you've done good to both be influenced by his writing style whilst keeping the historical elements of you writing free from crossing "universes" so to speak.
