Statherian 3325 Popular Post Share Posted July 27, 2023 LETTERS FROM THE GRIEVING Within the Valdev tavern, a man struck with grief and anger found himself ready to pen a missive. The pages soaked in his tears, a shaky hand making various attempts to put down the man’s scrambled thoughts. Albus had only just left the room, but he already knew his final attempt to make things right had failed. To Albus Amador You were once a man I respected, a scholar of renown who helped shape House Amador to where it is today, but you have become a shadow of your former self. You have become nothing but a madman hungry for power over a family that is not rightfully yours to lead. You claim wardship over children that are not yours, and you claim to lead a family based on a will that isn’t there. You claim my mental state is what is keeping you from handing me the regency, but is a man not allowed to take time to grief the death of his wife? Not according to you, it seems. Based on what merit do you claim to be the rightful leader of the family? Only recently have you actually become present within the Koengzem. You took the regency from not only myself but also from Liridona. You took it from the mainline of House Amador, from Nataliya’s siblings and her husband. The House does not support you, nor do you have the right to ever claim wardship over my children. You are a pitiful excuse of a man, who when cornered in a tavern began channeling heretical magics because you were too scared to even face me. To me you will forever be known as a false regent, and the reason I am formally giving up my name as an Amador. We will see who has the support of the family, a false regent, or the man who helped shape the House into what it is today. Let me ask you one thing Albus, have you ever spoken to the rest of the House on who they want to lead them these coming years? I doubt you have. To the rest of House Amador I know that you all understand who in the end, was the rightful regent of this family, and who was supposed to lead it through these times of uncertainty and fear. I know that, even when no longer an Amador in name I can always count on you all, you have taken me in before and I have no doubt you will not let go of me now either. For all of you shall always hold a special place in my heart, no matter what name I may go by. Nataliya is no longer with us, but that doesn’t mean you should allow her legacy to be forgotten. I will forever consider you family, and will always treat you as such. I ask only that you think of this ordeal yourselves, and think who you want to lead the family. Remember that the actions of your current regent drove me away, because his own hunger for power got the best of him. To my children Papej is never leaving any of you, I want you to know that. I will raise you like I always have, and will care for you just the same. A change in name does not mean I’ll be a different father, for I will never abandon any of you. Albus is not the one to take care of you all, I am. Your mother may be gone, but I’ll always be by your side. Nobody can ever take that away from us. It took the former Baron-Consort some time to gather his thoughts again, although he knew he was not finished yet. There was a letter he still had to write. The first pages he laid to the side, before starting on a final note. To Ileana I know that I have not treated you and others in the family well. It was my own fault, something I have admitted to you before but can only apologize for again. I once swore to myself to never call myself a Kortrevich ever again…but you are my kin by blood, a bond that can never be shattered. I ask you for forgiveness Ileana, for the times we didn’t see eye to eye, for the times I treated you and others poorly. For the times that I brought shame upon the House, for the times that I wasn’t there. If you allow me to, and only if I will once again be known as Aleksandr Audemar Kortrevich, and will live out the rest of my days only in service of the House. I hope your forgiveness is something you will grant me…so that I may come home again at last. Signed, Aleksandr Audemar Spoiler The letter to Ileana is only received by @MissToni, all other writings are publicly available. I would also like to make a reminder that this is all in roleplay and in good faith,
lalo 297 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Aleksandr's youngest, Theodosya, would have given an approving nod when being told what the letters said. Though, how much she understood would be another ordeal entirely!
Cheese 2318 Share Posted July 27, 2023 A bedridden Liridona Amador, still recovering from the difficult births of her twins, read over the letters tiredly. “Ea should… visit Alek after all this is over…” She muttered to herself as she looked over her many sons.. “But Ea will have to make sure Erik knows niet to let Albus anywhere near our boys..” ((OOC: sorry for the gross formatting i’m on mobile lol))
sarahbarah 5023 Share Posted July 27, 2023 The Queen of Haense receives a copy of the missive from a frantic courier, and as she splays the parchment across her desk, her face pales. ". . Oh, dear."
_RoyalCrafter_ 3301 Share Posted July 27, 2023 "Vy said vyrself to mea that Natalia's dying wish was to make Albus regent. To give up vy name of ve family because of ve wish of vyr deceased wife is digusting. Perhaps Albus is not referring to vyr grief, but vyr petulant behaviour towards others." The Knight of the Amador commented as he polished his armour. "Ask why Nataliya did not want vy to become regent."
erictafoya 2309 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Somewhere a young boy would be told the news from his father upon hearing a teacup hit the floor! With a previous point proven to him, he took the personal victory knowing that he was right about his friend's father being a Kortrevich… In another place, a fisherman would wonder how this would affect the People’s Duma’s legacy…
Lirinya 2664 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Poppiya's only thought on Albus had been when he had removed her dog from the church, despite it being a mutual family agreement. She read only the letter to the children- the one to Albus was much too long. What upset her the most, was that now she no longer shared her fathers surname.
critter 2470 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Henrik Amador - alone, as he often took to being, on the Valdev riverbanks - reviewed the letter with a frown much too deep for such a little face, mouthing the words to himself. When at last he understood, he crammed the letters into a little pocket and scrambled back up the rocky edge towards the capital - where his siblings and his family awaited, and where he felt, all too aptly, he was needed. -- Fabian d'Arkent-Kortrevich drops his teacup.
MissToni 3487 Share Posted July 27, 2023 A letter was penned to Aleksandr "Of course ea forgive vy and welcome vy back to House Kortrevich if that is the choice vy wish to take. Though ea would advice some thinking on if vy are truly are ready to let go off the surname of vyr late wife. If however vy are certain, vy are welcomed back with open arms my dear cousin."

ibiou 1586 Share Posted July 27, 2023 "This is ve same man who insulted eam at Duma, ai?" Alyona asked herself. "Such cowardice, when ve least he could do is support his child's regency by keeping ve name. Yam glad Lord Albus pays ve fellow baronies respect..."
___siren___ 458 Share Posted July 27, 2023 "Ah do nicht think Albus would just take up the mantle without reason. Everybody knows he would rather study his books and stuff!" *Thondorus declared as he read the missive*
Gutz 398 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Olessya Amador squints, chewing on nothing in a usual elderly way. "Who?" She'd simply comment. That was all from the former Matriarch of Amador. Murtagh Amador, similarly, would have little to nothing to say. He'd eye the minae in his bank account, switching his mouth from side to side in thought. "Ea will jus'... continue to give mea coin to wee Ricky- he's tha' decided future Baron, ag tha's agreed upon by everyone" the notorious sugar papej of Amador would decide aloud to no one other than himself.
_mady07 1105 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Miss fable plucked a tea cup from the counter, as she overlooked the missive.. "tea time girls." Chimed the elder to the other maids of the palace with a snicker as she over read the missive. A small smile played at her expression "Poor man."
