Creating narratives, keeping track of interactions, and commemorating important events are a priority to the Cingedoz tribe. A famous form of commemoration & recording is popularly known; the tradition of raising runestones and engraving beautiful reliefs, details of important events, and storing tomes of knowledge in hewn niches in the limestone frame of these stones. Another way of creating narratives and tracking events, more intimately held by tribesmen, is the act of dedicating certain weapons & trade goods as boons or relics. This can take a couple of forms and has certain traditional guidelines:

Eh1XRj1.png   Werruhālig [Common: War-Boons]

The Werruhalig are those relics that, as weapons, have a significant event tied to it whether by its forging, its usage, or its original owner. Traditionally, a Cingedoz would be mocked for trying to consider his or her weapon a relic for very mundane reasons such as slaying a single opponent or hunting simple predators such as a wolf or snake. Examples (not an exhaustive list) of weapons that may be considered werruhalig are those weapons used against any great being, eldritch monster, or a great many foes in a conflict, it being the first of its kind made by the tribe, it being the weapon of a person of importance.

An acceptable bypass of this differentiating between the great and the mundane are those werruhalig which are considered relics when gifted from the hands of a Cingedoz tribesman to someone outside the culture and returned back to them after being used in a heroic act. Examples can include gifted weapons used to defend an unarmed person, used to defend against a callous act.

sot3aSo.png  Camboshālig [Common: Trade-boons]

A Camboshalig is a boon that is held in high regard as it signifies a developed relationship with another group, settlement, or kingdom. These trade-boons must be a unique good specific to said group, settlement, or kingdom - examples include: a wine-bottle from Celia’lin, an Orkish effigy from the Iron’Uzg, an ash-tree shard from Norland, etc. The trade-boon must be singular, any attempt at “hoarding” trade-boons from a people will be mocked. Trade-boons can be replaced if the replaced item is seen as more unique than the prior item. Unique items can be exchanged as a normal means of transaction between peoples & settlements, but the designated trade-boon can only be one particular item.

CYJHhCf.png   Magjohālig [Common: Mighty Boons]

The Mighty Boons are a unique class of boons & relics. These relics can only be gifted to the Cingedoz or produced by the Cingedoz and must possess some property in addition to its mundane use or purpose to be considered a Magjohalig. Mighty Boons must be agreed upon, in assembly with the tribe, that it fits the criterion of a Magjohalig and it is looked down upon to try and sell a Mighty Boon - even physical punishment can be rendered for trying to sell these.

Spoiler

The premise for these boons is to generate roleplay by way of giving players more incentive to go out into the server, interact with others, engage in conflict and other forms of give-and-take. As a veteran player, I am aware that there has always been an “underground market” where players attempt to “spice up items, give them fancy descriptions, and even try to get staff signatures to boost the item to sell,” this is not what we are interested in. Part of the Cingedoz ethos is similar to JRR Tolkien's admiration for the "Celtic pagan", the heroic willingness to throw one's life at what obstacles he/she encounters and to embellish deeds into what is greater than it really is.

This Werruhalig has been commemorated in Year 146 of the Second Age and is a unique war-boon in that it is a battle standard that the Cingedoz will bring with them during heroic quests and when they march as the Moiron Gaisoz [Common: Sea of Spears] in battle. Eh1XRj1.png   Werruhālig [Common: War-Boons]

This Werruhalig has been commemorated in Year 146 of the Second Age. The falx, humble in forging, has a great story attached to the object. The falx was initially gifted from Cunimund hal'Cingedoz to the Halcourt youth Philip Laurent after Laurent accepted a duel made by the vampyre Ottomar von Augusten in which the beast threatened to slay Adelheid Klara before the duel was agreed upon. Philip, showing courage, heartily accepted to duel Ottomar in Whitespire. Ottomar was arrested before the duel's set date, escaped, and then was captured days later.

It was discovered that Ottomar possessed a vampyric constitution and had been beheaded in the town of Apfelberg at the base of the Langkette Mountains. Baron Cunimund, attending the execution, brought the vampyre's body to Bodbwodz where he lanced the beast against a watchtower's pyre and used the falx to pin it in place as the flames consumed.

Cunimund, in honor of this history of the blade, has gifted it to Ogmios Catuvolcus hal'Cingedoz [ @siglms_ ] to use in keeping order in the barony and across Aaun.

This particular cabbage has been encased in brine to preserve, an aged sauerkraut if you will.

He works to dissuade his people from visiting as they will not be well-received to trade person to person in open trade.
