femurlord 3751 Popular Post Share Posted July 15, 2024 Spoiler GASHADOKURO, THE RED LICH Credits to @Gamma PROLOGUE Ever since Arcas, the world felt amiss. A lingering anxiety always lurked as the world was besieged by various cosmic forces. Aengudaemonic, draconic, voidal and fiendish incursions all threatened Aos and Eos as one by one continents were destroyed under the feet of the nomadic Descendants. Though each threat flickered like dying flames over the years, one persisted—a menace, spawned from the chaos of Yong Ping and death throes of Cadmasrah on Almaris. The silit coven reaped the youth from the whirlwind of Yong Ping’s destruction, cattle left from the slaughter, and amongst them they found Shinji, a boy doomed to die. This fateful meeting led him to be a product, an olive branch to bridge dark allies of the coven, as Shinji was traded away to a rat lord who sired dark towers called Hexicanum, where cabals of dark mages weave life back into corpses in silence, in darkness. In this era, necromancers lorded over the sour wastes of the ruined port city of Ando Alur and the swamps of Attenlund, and least of all Shinji himself. It was there evil was allowed to fester, to watch and observe under the umbrella of immortality, Shinji survived past his former fate and grew to hunger for the heavens. Ixris’ trespassing into a long-denied breach brought a dark portent to the world. This force of malice found puppets to manipulate, and amongst them, the survivor Shinji. Rendered a zealot of malice, he acts as a diligent attendant, to secure the demonic scourge’s place upon the Material Realm by any means necessary, to be seen. He planted the seeds of Ixris’ scourge into the earth, and manipulated an Adunian into deeper and deeper depravity. Utilizing his once and future thrall as a false prophet, Shinji had through service and tribulation earned favor within the coven in bringing this supposed prophet into the fold, earning him the choice to surrender his flesh and become more, a ravenous creature of bone. Yet, the newly spawned undead hungered for more, and at Ixris’ side he would have it. In this fateful bond of fire and bone, betrayal, bitter loss, and exhilarating victory followed, paving the path to calamity as fateful choices led to an uncanny mimic of Feldamfir and its infernal transformation, to Cloudbreaker’s death and revival, and inevitably to the agitation of the Mori’quessir through his effort. The ascension of the lich Gashadokuro to the forefront of Ibleesian evil was assured, with this being offering all his infernal works to his immortal lord as tribute. This shadow of a man rode the wave of madness ever higher, embracing the warpath which led it to more extreme and depraved acts against God. It led this struggle under the banner of a demonic lord that offered dark powers to those who wagered everything, down to the atoms of their soul. The Lich was given not only fire, but thralls to whip and champions to surmount, so it did. Relentless and apathetic it carved through all it faced until it fell to its own hubris, boxed by those it tricked long ago. INTERLUDE But as fate would have it, this detained terror came to be released upon the world again as no less than a decade passed, and in such a span cults had risen from the ashes of a rumored death and in the resurrection of Gashadokuro, the beast moved to weaponize and confederate, to mobilize anything and anyone malleable to its influence. To build a legion as it enslaved dark powers unfocused by unambitious or frightened beasts as he once had been. To slay anything from the weakest welp to god-like patrons that created the magics it wielded. From the heavens and to the abyss the rising of the Lich-King was felt and trembled, watching the disturbance of ancients as it both awoke and subdued the Waking Synod, and in doing so spat upon Aeriel herself as the Red Lich sent Seraneth the Binder hurdling across the cosmos. It was then, in an ultimate act of tribute, Gashadokuro would offer itself and dare to bring forth an unprecedented invasion in an age of rancor, and would swindle a king for a mantle of strength: A sword from Moz’Strimoza’s deepest pits, one almighty and promising power beyond imagination at the cost of their soul. Reality tore at Gashadokuro’s whim, linking a break between worlds, mirroring pasts of the dark masters it swore to. Moz’Strimoza and the Material were linked, tempted into existence by greedy hands. It was there, upon the southwest corner of Aevos, Gashadokuro sought to conquer and imposed its terror first upon Koyo-Kuni, the nation led by its once teacher and now mortal enemy KATO OIJIN. It sacked the capital of Sakuragakure as the Oyashi lost themselves in celebration, launching a siege other cowardly dark powers of the realm were less equipped to wage. The legions of Gashadokuro successfully drove the inhabitants from their home and established its first bastion in the coming war, scorching the lands black and bloodying the sky. But, as fate would have it, Hell had been emptier than usual, and the typically boundless stream of demons would run abnormally dry. In this, would be the opportunity of the Descendant counterattack on the scourge that had assailed them countless times, to finally end the foul specter. Ranks upon Samurai and their allies fought tooth and nail in a war of attrition against the Dark Lord in the Second Yokai War, surviving hordes of fiends, corpses and even their own captured weapons to win their home back and fight through the Blightwald to Hexicanum. Here, Gashadokuro kept monstrous beasts for protection as it prepared its fortress for the fight it seemed to always long for. Beast upon beast fell with the determination of heroes who had felt that not all hope was lost, suffering the loss of friends and family before they came to the dark foothold that plagued the continent, to the heart of the world’s fears. They brought their machines of war, rolling through the deluge of gore they left in the wake of slaughtered demons, opening the final fight of the war, dubbed the Siege of Hexicanum. EPILOGUE The Heroes of Koyo-Kuni rendered the Lich-King’s walls to dust and stormed a living cavern of flesh overrun, descending deep below in a desperate fight that’d see them brave countless, horrific threats which forever left their impressions. Their mettle was tested and not everyone survived, but through it all they moved to challenge Gashadokuro in a legendary battle that brought ruin to its own fortress. It was courage that beat the Red Lich and ended its terror, fed a death worthy of it, becoming the nothingness to the pact it had erected in an unholy communion as its nemesis, KATO OIJIN, sacrificed himself to ensure the lives of everyone else. To ensure his friends saw another day, even if it meant he wouldn’t. Thus, an age of terror that spanned decades ended through the persistence of heroes, and even in the face of the bleakness of the world and the cyclic destruction of each continent, things looked a little brighter. Shinji thus met the end he was always fated to meet, taking a roundabout, dire, and bloody path to it. In his passing, an empty void in the heart of evil was left, dealt a wound it may not recover from, leaving the realm at peace for now. But a mantle waits to be claimed by any ambitious enough to rend continents to shards as he once did. Instead of dying in obscurity from disease as a child, he died on top of the bottom of the world, and would persist forevermore… you know his name… And perhaps, they may know yours one day. . AN ECHO. . ? Within the wicked throes locked within the crumbled tunnels of the Hexicanum there hid a singular decree. . Dedicated to only those who were brave enough to seize it. . . Posh letters find themselves in the hands of these people via necrotic couriers which rot on arrival. Mescaffier 6197 Share Posted July 15, 2024 “Don’t thank me.” In some dank, dark cave, Serthekhur had been ordained. A knife through the heart, prophecies of the future. RUIN. A beautiful, horrible image of a world decimated by droves of undead & the demonic. Seas of flame. She yearned for it all; the Mystiks had ruined her, had left her with nothing but hatred. In some twist of fate, then, she'd been offered the chance of a lifetime - the same art as Edward and Ostromir had employed to wreak havoc on the Orenian peoples. "But . . ." “You’ll regret it.” Gashadokuro became her idol. What she swore to be – the symbol of destruction. Perhaps there was regret along the way, but there was no option to turn back. Hundreds dead at her hand; hundreds more that must be killed. "MINCE THEM INTO RED MIST! GASHADOKURO!" In the end, she and the rest of the coven had fled as the beast that’d replaced the lich decimated those who fought him. Her throat had become hoarse from screaming, hands tired and blistered from fighting, limbs enfeebled. Hexicanum fell, and now, they had to pick up the pieces their dead lord left behind.

ThatFunkyBunch 2818 Share Posted July 15, 2024 A demon bellows out a scream into the airs of Aevos. Spewing bouts of malflame as it strode forward. Staring ahead. Then came the shrieking laughter. "I told you, I would out last you. Master. Though none, will ever be able to give the joy of this putrid existence as you did. Farewell, Book Bearer. My gaze will pierce the heavens and hells."Kiel Vuakdah retires for now. Looking at high sails with a content sigh. As it adorns, most prized relics. The Hammer of the Underloc, and a simple pirate hat. "He left his treasure, in one piece..."Somewhere, far deeper in the warp soul is the tormented fragmented existence of what was Ke'makia Qua'Req. For truly, you never know what you have until you have lost it.

Pharoahdabz_yt 121 Share Posted July 15, 2024 A final sizzle came from the uruks back; what he thought of was a final sort of goodbye from the crimson ogre as the mark that tainted the uruks heart for so long died off; the malaflame that twisted within it falling back to the form it had been. . . plumes of black smoke cackled from the uruks back as they left him be for now as the uruk for once felt alone, he no longer had the peace of knowing the crimson ogre would watch over him, he could finally put his guard down when he was alone; but this wasn't what he strived for something was taken from him and he yerned to fill it again."kill. . ." The green uruk declared."KILL ALL THOSE WRETCHED ONI AND RAISE GASHDAGAKURO'S NAME ONCE MORE." soon the uruk silenced as he wielded his blade as he closed his eyes, he walked away.
Reckless Banzai Screamer 15456 Share Posted July 15, 2024 "Sorry I wasn't a better alchemy teacher to you Shin-" Before he could finish, the white inferno the Shugo became and the potent demonic power of Shinji would explode with the aid of 11 Blasting potions. Oijin used to beat Shinji in the alchemy lab with a bamboo cane for lazy work for he expected only the best out of the Oyashi diaspora at that point in time as a Lector, having seen the fall of Yong Ping to laziness and iniquity. It wasn't until it was too late Oijin learned he had to teach his people about honor, virtue, integrity, community, comradery - and love. "You did pretty good Shinji, if you weren't an evil sack of shit I think you could've been a Lector! Ka-ka-ka!" In the soulstream taking the highway to the Hyper War, Oijin chuckled heartedly with the Red Lich. One bound to fusion dance with Machiman, the other bound to be a general in the armies of hell - no doubt they would fight again. For now the fight for the Oyashiman spirit had been settled. But this was not the first battle and it would not be the last. If there was one thing Gashadokuro picked up from Oijin perhaps besides alchemy, it was Oijin's pettiness.

Coronate 5528 Share Posted July 16, 2024 The Autarch of Lurak calmly exhaled upon the ramparts of Ubuntu. He looked into the distance, two great evils slain in a day. But still... it felt empty. Gashadakuro never did give him the Carbarum Sword he demanded in his letter all those years ago as a teenager... the lifelong search for the "Slayer Blade" continued... Spoiler Gash/David was one of the first people to RP with me on LOTC and gave me a crazy story for my first day really on server.
