  1. Most rules on LOTC stem from people being irresponsible with the freedoms they were once given. If enough people abuse said freedom, then there are rules added to combat or remove it. Maybe back in the war of 2 emperors we could do all of what you said responsibility, but now a lot of the time both parties are trying to get by with shady shit more often than not. Can't play with your toys? They get taken away. Kind of neutral on this issue as I believe conflict is needed to incite change, but i also know that wars conducted in good faith are few and far between.
  2. man is remembered ais war 1740s. thinks sort of hard on it before ignoring going sleep
  3. Alec feels as if he should contact these angry magic-wielding guys, and offer to trade them their requested herbal material in exchange for whatever they used to burn down that poor couple's beach-home. Timeshares don't come cheap, you know.
  4. Alec agrees wholeheartedly with the statement above, though considering his illiteracy, his judgement is not to be trusted.
  5. "all I know is that as soon as this new guy sat on his fancy chair he started saying a whole lotta things. Lot's of folk say a lot, but he's saying a damned lot."
  6. Alec thinks these Barclay's should use some sort of protection when fading to black. He's met like forty of them already!
  7. Alec wished the white people would just pipe down for a singular microsecond.
  8. Alec sat in contemplation of the life he had taken during the battle. He was a simple man, and such things as violence weighed heavy upon his mortal soul. He sat underneath the tree which had sprouted Alabaster, staring into the shadows in which his victims stared back at him with their eyes open, mouths agape. He sighed, closing his eyes then as he sunk into the tree, resting, mouthing out quiet apologies to dead dwarves.
  9. "I can't read!" Exclaims Alec, though he is saddened by Jarad's somber expression when handing out the note to him.
  10. "they want my ******* node sites!" A mina-strapped herbalist states. He readies his carabarum hoe to ward off these upstarts. "but if they buy from me...." A mina-strapped herbalist immediately follows up on, looking at his large crate of Athins and Mandragora............
  11. Alec would sign, if only he knew how to spell his own name. Oh, woe was the public education system!
  12. The information inserted would be written in a crude fashion. IGN: TryaxReck Name: ALEC Age: I FORGOT IM LEGAL Place of residency: NONE (HATE CITIES) Bank account balance: HAS FOUR NUMBERS IN IT Hobbies: EXPLORING ADVENTURING SINGING FIGHTING One interesting fact about yourself: I SURVIVE LICH ATTACK, KILLED 2 SWAMP DRAGONS AT ONCE
  13. I would like to see some more effort put into player retention. A new player was asking in the wandering soul chat about how to create a new soul, with four other community team members online. He recieved no response, unless it was done through /msg, which I cannot see. If this is the case, disregard my concern here. Note also the fact Savoy is still called Sutica. I checked, it warps you to Savoy. This should be corrected to be more accurate to the current state of the server. You could try using Disboard to try and reach out to more potential players, as well as updating our vote links to accurately represent what map we are on, and maybe provide more detail about what LOTC is and what you can actually do. For example, there is advertising about being a mage. And while, yes, you can be a mage, it is a difficult process and shouldn't be advertised like it's something you can simply start off with. This is bad faith advertising. The promotional trailer linked in the minecraft vote-links are related to Atlas, and should be corrected to fit Almaris. Why advertise a 4 year old map that is no longer in use? In addition, the imgur link to various screenshots is also outdated: https://imgur.com/a/ua6Jv Fresh blood and new ideas are what make the wheels turn forward, so player retention should be prioritized over all other things. Staff run initiatives should be improved upon and/or expanded, as well as the efforts of nations. Nations are the main conduit of roleplay, and as such should feel obligated and responsible for this undertaking as well. As a related topic, I believe that making the vast lore LOTC more user-friendly and readable for new players is a good idea. An idea I thought of was having nations give historical summaries of their histories, brushing over maybe 2-3 major events per map which affected their kingdom, and forming it into a timeline. This could provide a good first step into the pool of lore we have accumulated over the years. General lore management would be nice as well. @Caelria is smart btw, you should listen to them!
  14. The man reads the missive, balls it up in the trash, smirking. He logs off of the computer, still believing that he had won, still believing that winning in such a context held meaning. His lips curled into a smile as he ignored those he loved, and whom loved him. His fingers clicked on the mechanical keyboard, typing away words that'd inflame another human being, a person perhaps not unlike himself, seperated by the barrier of a thin plastic screen, illuminated by LEDs. The world was in decay. The pandemic took lives, the politicians blared their sychophantic ways, and the world turned, rotting from the inside out like an apple hiding a worm, gnawing away at all that is sweet and replacing it with a disgusting gangrene- spreading across the apple like misery does countries of Men. And so as the digital missive burns, and as the player on the internet wins, the world that is real, which can be touched, smelt, and lived in, loses. And so it goes. He won.
  15. Alec can't ******* read, but if he did? "Northerners pulled a right good swindle on the dwarves. Phew!"

  18. I frankly hate it when orcs ____. Sure yeah, the orc nation is _____, and the playerbase is _____. But overall, the ____ aspect of the community really annoys me and can debatably even be labelled as a problematic (even toxic) aspect of the wider LOTC community. Other people may write meme responses, however I will actually bother to discuss the pressing issues. Completely absurd that things like _____ and _____ have been tolerated for this long. However. We cannot let _____ and other past individuals dictate the reputation the orc playerbase currently has. I can see major strides in how ____ krugmar is compared to something like ____ krugmar. It cannot be understated how ____ and ____ have improved for THE BETTER and it'd be disingenuous to not acknowledge that. In short? ____ ____ ____, ____. - _______
  19. What drove you stick around this long?
  20. Vozhd looked down at his palms, wrapped in leather and covered with steel. It was an arduous effort to take them off alone, though it didn’t frustrate him as much as it usually did. After some maneuvering and muffled expletives, the gauntlets were tossed aside. He made moves to unclasp the other bits and pieces of his armor, loosening up the leather strips that bound the metal chassis to his chest, untying all the coiled ropes for the finer parts of his set. By the time the sabatons were removed, Vozhd was in a sweat. He wiped his face, disturbed by the sensation of a cool, stiff breeze surrounding him. Vulnerability mixing with nostalgia. The thought lingered as he sat upon a felled tree, the hardy oak succumbing to the harsh weather of the wildlands. Today was a day of many rediscovered sensations. Soon he felt himself an urge to touch everything again; the grass and leaves, his hair and old disfigured skin. And while he didn’t bother with the caressing of nature, he did take a dip into his own head, fingers brushing along the scars and patches of burnt skin, wounds still stinging from battles had long ago. His forehead scrunched up, brows furrowed as he tried to think, tried to remember what led him here, not just to the forest, but to this state, to be this person. Broken memories tried to fit together, the smells of morning breakfast, the feeling of his feet hurting walking along old roads. A bar, where he met a man with iron infused with his skull, searing pain from fire, torture, and cold resignation when he let go of his son. The eye closed, holding back tears locked away for god knows how long. The tears poured harder as he tried to make them stop, balling his fists and wiping away the physical manifestation of his regret. His self loathing. Too late now, he knew that already. The painkillers were wearing off, the stabs of pain when he inhaled grew in intensity. It was coming soon, and he had not the time to be idle. He took his hand and reached in his pocket, taking out a shot of the widow-maker. If the stories were to be true, he’d be passed out drunk for a solid day. Enough time for nature to finish the rest. With a satisfactory pop of the cork, Vozhd with no hesitation downed the glass, gulping it greedily, like it was ambrosia. In a sense, it was to him. Finality, ready to see what beyond brought. Whether it was the torment of void, or the refuge of the seven skies, or perhaps some other deities land, he was ready. And as he lied down upon the grass, moving away from the fallen tree, he tried to remember the few happy moments he had. The passion of lovers long gone, the old memories of dancing and poetry. So he smiled, a weak smile as the black surrounded him, and for a brief moment before he slipped into slumber, he felt at peace. No pain, no regret nor boiling hatred. Just a tranquil bliss. The organs shut down, fighting a hopeless battle, and after a long few hours, the blood ran still and the heart grew silent. Vozhd was finally free, after a lifetime of bondage.
