  9. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ANTONIO DE RIVERA I, Antonio de Rivera, do herein leave my lands and titles to my son and heir; Cesar de Rivera II. Until the time my legal heir is to come of age, He shall be under the regency and guidance of his mother; Queen-mother Sofia Mendez. Due to my lack of Kin, all material possessions including but not limited to my Armor, Weaponry, and Housing shall also be left to Cesar de Rivera and kept safe by the Queen-Mother until he shall come of age. It is now that I wish to speak a final statement to those who may befall this Will. I am aware that by executing the pretender, Francisco Altamirano, that I have ultimately doomed myself to death and as a result shall be leaving my lands in the care of my Son and beloved Sofia, whom I never had the chance to be joined in matrimony with yet fathered a beautiful baby boy with. The only regrets I shall ever have will be that I will not be present in my Son's life as my Father was not in mine, and I will never be able to marry my beloved Sofia in the eyes of the All-father. I shall not shy away in the face of death nor shall I fight it, may the All-father forgive me of my crimes and allow me to join him in his great halls. Signed, Antonio de Rivera, King of Hyspia, Lord of Nueva Tierra, and protector of the Hyspian People. The Death Credit to @Qaz_The_Great, who was kind enough to make this for me despite not being asked "Word got around, ye' well?" Caedric inquires to the, now drenched, King of Hyspia before stating "T'ey voted, I 'oped te' save ye' from t'em but it seems t'e King 'as sealed yer' fate." Antonio gives a subtle nod, before simply replying, "I understand. I accept my fate; I just ask you keep my son safe, Caedric." Caedric would think for a minute, he hears the bells of Varhelm ringing, a rally has been called. He'd look to the noble man, his eyes shifted downwards as he came to a though, "Ye' wanna' wait fer' t'em te' hang ye?" Caedric asks. "What else can I do? I cannot fight Norland, I will not flee." Antonio replies, seeming to reflect on his ignoble action. "I'll give ye' a warrior's death, ye' shall fight me till yer' last. We shall fight in the Arena, t'ey won't t'ink t'e see ye' t'ere." he'd suggest, before remarking, "Ye've only so long te' choose t'ough." Antonio would wait, seeming to compare the options in his mind, before stating with finality, "Fine, let me grab my sword." The duo march through the night, the deep snow crunching below their heavy boots as they climb up the cliff to the arena. Caedric would position himself opposite of Antonio, raising his sword to the man before stating, "Bjorn has guided ye' t'is far. Let t'e bastard dwell eternally in comfort in his Seven Skies, we shall serve the Father for our eternity." Antonio takes his offensive stance, "May the Father accept me into his great halls." After two swift movements, Caedric would stab his blade through Antonio's chest, his heart being pierced and his final words being whispered into Caedric's ear, "My son," he'd cough a blob of blood, "Protect him Caedric." his breathing grew more strained and his words more harsh, "...Iron...from..." The man didn't finish, going limp in a pool of his own blood. Caedric would rise solemly, looking down at his friend who now lied dead by his hand. "Iron from Ice."
  10. Antonio de Rivera reads over the missive, lofting a brow "Perhaps I spoke of the clergy too harshly, there are some who truly do have common sense it seems. You have my respect, Father Basil."
  11. Viktor Bishop smiles down from the Heavens, knowing full well that one day he shall be avenged alongside the other innocents the Imperials wrongly killed.
  12. Yet another response is written and sent out by Antonio de Rivera To the Baron of Cartagena, who frankly I didnt know existed until now, I would first begin by stating that while some of your accusations may have a whisper of truth, many of them are horribly fabricated and are riddled with lies. I frankly do not wish to spend my time trading insults with a Baron I hardly know nor have ever heard of, therefore this is all i shall say regarding my accusations: - The accusation of forcing Hyspians to convert en masse is blatantly false, as there are a few Canonist and Areligious Hyspians whom I can mention by name. - I have been extremely verbal in my dislike of the Canonist Church as an organized body, not against the worshippers of the Canonist faith whom I hold no ill will to and that I will not deny. - The accusation that I have threatened my own people is a fabricated lie based on the biased account of those whom truly dont know of which they speak of. The only time in which I have threatened my own civilian was in the case of a direct threat to Hyspia or myself, which is justifiable. - I am unaware of any acts of Treason I may have committed, not including the Church of the Canon. If I am not mistaken, Treason is defined as betraying a country, not a religion. - The reinstatement of the Civilians court was already planned before, however there has been much in motion which has prevented me from reinstating it quite yet. Nonetheless, it is the fault of mine for not clarifying this earlier. - The accusation of treason against the House of Altamirano is completely and utterly false, I never issued an exile of the Altamirano family until after they had left my domain peacefully. It is also within my prerogative to state that your threat to arrest all Hyspians who preach the Red Faith is an act of aggression not just against Hyspia, but against the Kingdom of Norland. Should you not lift this arrest immediately which you have placed upon the innocent people who have chosen the path of the Red Faith, I cannot promise peace further down the road. Furthermore, should any of my citizens be unlawfully seized within your lands, it shall be seen as an act of War and shall be handled accordingly. I shall also soon be reaching out to the Trade King of Sutica on your unjust arrest order should you not rescind it. It is also of my belief that there are many in Sutica who care little for the affairs of the Canonist church and would much rather see peace. Signed, King Antonio de Rivera, King of Hyspia, and Protector of the Hyspian People
  13. A public response is soon written and published To the overdramatic and frankly irritating Traitor Carlos Mendez, It is rather unfortunate that I feel the need to write this letter, given that any man with sense would simply ignore your delusional outcries. Nonetheless, I feel that a public response to your ludicrous claims would set many a mind at ease. Firstly, I would like to start by clarifying that at my coronation I did in fact make the claim that you were undead which was then followed by the simple request for a test to be conducted upon you. Once this test was conducted and you were proven innocent of such accusations, I allowed you the chance to leave Nueva Tierra peacefully and calmly to which you did. Why you feel the need to overdramatize such a minor and insignificant incident is beyond me, and those who bore witness to the event can confirm that once the accusations were proven false I took no further actions to harm you. As for my supposed "Betrayal" of you, I have a list of which I could have had you exiled or killed for many years ago yet I refrained from doing so. It is in bringing light to these past convictions that I hope to make clear that your crimes are far greater and more numerous than my apparent ones. Your crimes and convictions are as follows: - Attacking your fellow Hyspian citizens - Mistreatment of your own children, often including outright neglect or abuse - Attempted murder of Osanoran officials - Attempted murder of Hyspian officials - Disrespect of authority, both Sutican and Hyspian - Abuse of authority, both Sutican and Hyspian - Domestic abuse and attempted murder of your Ex-spouse, Peralien Mirthsense I would also wish to include your previous exile from Hyspia following one of your many attacks on an Osanoran official, of which you only returned due to my personal sympathies for you. Should you name any crime I have committed greater than the ones you have committed, feel free to make yet another public response to me. Nonetheless, I conclude by stating your over exaggeration and frankly political abuse of the situation has left me no choice but to write this public response in the first place. Unfortunately signed, King Antonio de Rivera, King of Hyspia, Lord of Nueva Tierra, and protector of the Hyspian People.
  14. Antonio reads the missive, happy that he is not the only norlandic lord to be a convert. "Perhaps the Jarl and I have quite a bit in common when it comes to angering Canonists."
  15. Antonio is soon brought to tears after receiving word of Javier's death. While they may have been on opposing sides, Javier was a Hyspian and in his mind no Hyspian should have had to die this way.
  16. Antonio blinks a few times at the missive from his home in Nueva Tierra, the new Hyspian settlement. "'Displaced Hyspian people'? You mean the Altamirano family?"
  17. Franklin Matthews cheers rather loudly after hearing the announcement by a Cardinal of all people. He looks over to his two younger brothers "Godan is with us! Ave the Boys of Karosgrad!"
  18. Franklin Matthews silently takes his Father's beating stick and prepares to search for the Girl's fortress
  19. Antonio I looks upon the letter at first with surprise, and then with indifference. "Perhaps now is the time for the healing he has done."
  20. Treaty of Hyspia 13th of Sun's Smile, 7 SA As agreed upon by all signatories; It is on this date that Prince Antonio de Rivera and Bishop Francisco Altamirano have negotiated and agreed on a peaceful resolution to the internal theater of Hyspian and Canonist tensions. Upon a meeting in the Barony of Osanora, the two leaders have agreed upon the following: While this treaty settles the internal matters of the Principality of Hyspia, Prince Antonio still holds the demand that the Pontiff/his regency revoke any past insults, Excommunications, and dissent officiated against the Principality within one year. Signature of the Treaty is given by; Antonio De Rivera, Prince of Hyspia, Heir to the Throne, and Restorer of the Hyspian Folk Francisco Altamirano, Bishop of the Canonist Church, and Leader of House Altamirano
  21. Antonio reads the excommunication within the Enclave, simply laughing at the ridiculous decree. "Take it from me then."
  22. A letter is published by the Prince of Hyspia in response to the Pontiff's published letter "To the High Pontiff of the Canonist faith who believes he holds himself above the Hyspian people, I take your response as an Insult against the Crown of Hyspia and against the Red Faith. I have stated more than once I wish for good relations to continue between us, however your response to my former Regent has shown me that you yourself are not willing to communicate with the Hyspian folk or any member of the Red Faith in good fashion. Your call for people to abandon my crown and the Red faith shall not be tolerated by myself and any who have common sense. I issue a public denouncement of the Church of the Canon, and officially dare the followers of the church to try your luck against us. If it is your belief that you can snuff us out, you are very much mistaken. I call upon members of the Red Faith to defend their brothers in the faith, and the members of the Canonist church to realize how foolish your Pontiff's decision has been. Let it be known the Pontiff has One Year to revoke his statement." -Antonio De Rivera, Prince of Hyspia, Heir to the Throne, and Restorer of the Hyspian Folk.
  23. "Damned fool, I never prevented you from worshipping the Crossed God nor anything else. You are the one who has forsaken your duties by abandoning Hyspia. Perhaps I was right to remove your powers as Regent, only the All-Father knows how badly you would have fucked Hyspia had you stayed in power." The Prince says, proceeding to laugh after hearing of the letter.
  24. The Conversion of Prince Antonio de Hyspia. 11th of the Grand Harvest, 7 SA As the Prince stood in the temple, he felt the warmth of the holy flame on his face. He thought of the Crossed God and then the All-Father, the God he was about to embrace. He knew the Hyspians would be enraged by this, but he knew this was to secure the future of Hyspia. He turned to the High Keeper and smiled, nodding to her in silent thanks. With that, he made his way out of the temple back to the streets of Varhelm. Each Hyspian, Norlander, and anybody who cares to read are handed a public letter from Prince Antonio De Rivera himself. "To my beloved people of Hyspia and all who read this, It is on this day that I publicly announce my religious conversion from the false Canonist god to the Red Faith and the All-father. I do this for many personal and public reasons, but know that this conversion is done in the best interests of the Hyspian folk. With this conversion and subsequent cooperation with the Crown of Norland, I believe that my conversion to the True faith is the best possible path to a bright future. To all Hyspians who wish to keep to the Crossed God, I will not stop you. I will not force you from your homes and hearths or steal your belongings. All I say to you is this, do you truly wish to support a Church who has given us nothing but empty promises and false gains?" -Antonio De Rivera, Prince of Hyspia, Heir to the Hyspian Throne, and restorer of the Hyspian folk.
