  1. Daeron's eyes, usually closed in resting meditation from his sky-god imprisonment, suddenly flit wide as his mind registers the scenario. For a brief moment his thoughts shift to the ruin his own return will bring upon the empire, but he quickly settles his imagination with a disturbing stillness, punctuated by the simple phrase: "This changes nothing."
  2. Daeron, hearing ever more of the realm's chatter from within his sky-god prison, nods at the declaration, appreciative that more eloquent linguists had joined the coalition.
  3. bro youre actually being really toxic, chill out
  4. guess brown-nosing with rp posts wasn't enough, so now youve resorted to making memes to impress your peers

  6. Daeron overhears chatter throughout the continent from his sky god cell in the void, waiting for passive-aggressive rebuttals to this anouncement
  7. I've gotten thornbark in ice mountain biome as well, but it didn't drop from a spruce tree, only dark oak. Didn't try acacia but that probably works too

  10. it depends on what you think the realism : mechanical convenience ratio on the server should be; when players can make their own gear quickly, losing it in a fight isn't so big a deal, but when only certain players can make it and it takes time, it's more precious, so people are less willing to get in a fight because they don't want to waste that time investment. I'm not advocating for this, just pointing out the reality
  11. can bounty board bounties be split up between rp-heavy, pvp-heavy, and pve-heavy events? just to give players a sense of what they can expect from a given bounty and not come unprepared
  12. A literate peasant reads the paper, complaining, "I could write better than this. Learn to use a comma, for goodness' sake."
  13. the emerging problem of warzones is that people don't want to go unless they have to for the sake of a warzone bonus, and even then only go for the minimum time required. So when there isn't a bonus, you have people going in with no armor and stone weapons as a meme. When there is, you have one side (see: oren) go from a handful to 40-50 dudes, get the point for the day, then leave, which isn't much fun since the opposition doesn't have much time to whittle them down before it's too late. The reluctance of going to the warzone with gear is because of the relative scarcity of gear from nexus professions: gear can only be made by a blacksmith, so people are far less willing to risk losing it because of the inherent difficulty in making it compared to vanilla minecraft. Contrast this with Anthos and the Fringe when crafting was vanilla and all gear was identical, and pvp in the "warzones" of the time was much more frequent and, by many accounts, more enjoyable. so some of the problem extends past warzones themselves
  14. Armor piercing arrows are arguably the same, and those are already craftable and usable in pvp. In fact the post suggests using armor piercing arrows as the representative item because a bullet would have the same effect on a target. Not necessarily. A conventional shortbow or longbow, for instance, would have the same advantages over a firearm as they have over a crossbow, that is, speed of firing and effective range; the effective range advantage is even more pronounced because of the firearm's inaccuracy. These are both already possible with armor-piercing arrows and high-velocity bows. Snipers, in particular, don't seem feasible with firearms because of their inaccuracy. As for the lore post, it seems alright. It isn't even unprecedented to have a mechanic for this sort of thing, since in Anthos everybody had access to a spell called sear, in which right clicking a gold hoe with emeralds in your inventory would cast an arcing fireball that exploded on impact. I quite liked it, but whether it was a good or bad addition is down to personal preference I suppose.
