I'd recommend something tame or relatively nondescript. Everyone knows that when someone named Doctor Doom walks in the room that things are about to get real uncomfortable, but something like Evan R. Baxter won't turn a single head until the deed is done. Also, if you wanna go the disturbed route, keep in mind that this character probably doesn't know that he's crazy. It's just how he is.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "obsessed with children", so you might want to elaborate on that, just in case.
