Hey. I just did a review over this comment with HR, and we find your tone and aggression to be a little too much for the RP position you presently have. At this time, we’re going to have to be letting you go. I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but I can forward you some RP opportunities that you might be interested in.

  8. Alright, let's break this down. The Kingdom of Oren, right? It was the legacy of Horen’s people. But it got shattered, scattered all over the place. Now, instead of one strong kingdom, you’ve got unvirtuous men ruling over small tribes and petty kingdoms. And what happens when you have weak, immoral leadership? The people live in fear. Simple as that.

  9. lightning evo is the only voidal magic I'd beg someone on my hands and knees, cryinf and throwing up, sobbing and hyperventilating on the floor, need actual medical attention to get. nbd if not though ahahaha. hope this passes
  10. jousting is cool. although I havent had the chance to spectate many I'd certainly like to, I just never know when and where. ideally jousting is done thru a combo of both RP and PvP, wherein mechanical hits determine the outcome, and the participants emote the follow-up as they wish as others have pointed out, these events tend to be really unengaging so most spectators are actually tabbed out watching youtube or doing something else. obviously this isn't a jousting-only issue, and I think there's a broader conversation to be had about events on LOTC and why 90% of them are as unengaging and forgettable as they are

aside from just quality of writing, the single biggest difference is that good rpers are willing to lose, not be in the limelight, have moments of weakness, etc, in service of a better story.

bad rpers either refuse to let themselves be anything but a winner or seek to avoid consequence at every turn.

  13. Sunlight shafts through the canopies of birch woodlands. It bites the eyes of the Nullivari son, Galahad, as he gazes upon the endless breadth of trees above. Each leaf shimmered in the radiance of the blinding sun, rustling and swaying by way of the errant wind that rolled through the land. With a hand, he shields his brow. A smile mingles into his features, yet to be weathered by the trials of war, but ever-fearless. He awaits not the spill of blood, but what awaits him in the throes of victory.

He leafs through stray papers and notes, and before discarding one of many, offers one of the titles a closer look. REGARDING HOUSE THYONE - DARKSPAWN ALERT Indifference mingles into his features, brows knitting. He folds the paper, storing it elsewhere before continuing his work.

  16. A Summons to Elvenkind Often do I reminisce a time when my brother and I explored the thick pinewoods of the west. We were only boys then, but I remember it fondly. We weaved past trees and stumps, plucking away the bramble thorns that snagged on each other’s clothes and raced each other to the distant riverbed whenever we saw one. I remember being breathless after every chase, chest heaving and lungs burning. I always lost in the end, but I was alright with that. It was an age of innocent wanderlust and spirit, where the lakes whispered ancient myth and every tree stood a proud guardian above the child-princes. As I mature, I still feel the call of the wild, the deep-seated yearning for the thrill of adrenaline and bond of brotherhood, only this time it is no childish woodland chase. It is a vision, a fiery dream for an era of elven prodigy. Our people have grown decadent and slovenly, which is a natural conclusion of our history, but an unnatural state for us to inhabit. Elven prodigy cannot be achieved without the hands willing to guide it. So I extend my hand, from the lonesome wanderers to the tireless warriors, let us forge a legacy that will stand as a testament to the glory of our people's history, and push the boundaries of elven dreaming. Our purpose is not merely to dream of strength, but to act upon it. It is within this action that an elven vanguard emerges, one untouched by the troubles of forgotten days and loyal only to the better future for elvenkind. Our mission is in pursuit of elven greatness through the purging of Ibleesians of our lands, embracing the warriorship of our bygone ancestors, and the rekindling of our peoples’ spirit. Your creed matters little; what unites us is a dream for an age of elves, and the dignity to be willing to sacrifice for it. Whether your calling is that of healing, artisanry, warriorship, forgery, sorcery, or are even among those who believe they lack the ability, there is a home to be had in brotherhood and kinship itself. Join not an established order where you are but a bystander on a roster, but the backbone of a path yet to be forged in history. Write to me, Galahad Nullivari
  17. I think we're at a point in minecraft where a redstone door plugin isn't even necessary to create a hidden entrance. there are a surprising amount of ways to create a secret passage with a little bit of creativity by just using vanilla minecraft gimmicks and I wouldn't mind seeing this plugin removed all together, or significantly nerfed as per xarkly's suggestions
  18. melee weapons still take 2 emotes to draw and attack, and 2 more emotes if you're disarmed at any point. the emote factor beyond that point isn't incredibly huge in the scope of CRP given how much of an advantage bows would still have. bows guarantee that you can attack from a distance, and thus cannot be disarmed while still having the potential to deal crippling damage no matter where your shot hits. so all of my previous points still apply here, zero regulation in every area outside of emotes with all of the benefits. you'd be surprised what situations people will try to use bows and arbalests or w/e in, ive seen players just blast arrows and bolts into tightly packed crowds trying to hit the single enemy in the middle
  19. xan dead time to get married

  20. after thinking about this for a little bit I want to come back and explain why I dont like 2 emote bows of any kind, even if they operate more as magic casting mechanics I think something we aren't really considering here is that unlike magic, bows are completely unrestricted in almost, if not every area other than emote counts. mages have mana and can only cast on a limit, archers can have an infinite quiver. magic is restricted and self-regulated, bows are accessible to anybody who wants one. mages cannot wear full plate, archers can wear full plate and wield a bow on top of a heavy hitting melee weapon, and the fact that a hit by an arrow is guaranteed to do severe damage no matter where it strikes the body. I definitely don't think we can simply apply an emote system designed for magic to the common bow weapon without tweaking it I'd be much more forthcoming to 2 emote bows if they were in turn nerfed in other areas, such as restricting the amount of arrows that one can carry, adding a "cooldown" for x amount of arrows shot that would be described as your character's arm tiring out and needing to rest, etc. if the issue here is really just fire rate, then people shouldn't have a problem with those other areas being nerfed, otherwise bows will become the absolute meta no matter what kind of weapon an encounter might demand
  21. it's pretty sad how the only way to invoke a sense of consequence on this server is by creating OOC consequences, such as by making people d40 on death to steal their epic items, or nuggetting their character to the point where RP becomes impossible. outside of that death as a punishment is entirely obsolete. I've had encounters where people will literally beg OOCly not to be killed, only to return the next day to the same instance that originally got them killed, and complain again about being killed (?) in an ideal world death would have consequence, but asking everybody to PK on death would create more problems than it'd solve. you'd get people making throwaway characters who constantly try to murderhobo for the sake of it, people would be even MORE afraid of pursuing risky encounters and thus do nothing but hide, etc. so what we're left with is the current state of affairs where killing your enemy isn't what defeats them, and what consequence there is to dying is determined by player culture
