  1. THE SIGMUNDIC CALENDAR The Sigmundic Calendar derives from the historic calendar and time-keeping of the ancient Highlander tribes, used in variation by the Raevir, Hansetian, and fellow peoples (though under different names). The Common and Imperial Calendars came to supersede it in usage by northern statesmen and scholars, and while the Sigmundic Calendar is rarely used in everyday use, it is still maintained in traditional, liturgical, and some scholastic functions. The year-dating by the ascension of the Prophet Sigmund, known as Ehr Sigmunda, is a more contemporary invention and is commonly used in place of the Anno Oreniae of imperial calendars. A single year is split into fourteen equal months, and those months are categorized into four seasons, known as fasts. The fasts (Gomesvey, Skepyr, Lejz, and Wilfulle) are dictated by the migration of the birds, and so are split themselves into ‘quick’ fasts (Skepyr and Wilfulle) and ‘slow’ fasts (Gomesvey and Lejz), where the ‘quick’ fasts are when birds are moving the most, while the ‘slow’ fasts are when they move the least. Each month is assigned a patron bird, used commonly as a good-luck symbol by those born to them. Month Conversion Snow’s Maiden - Wzuvar and Byvca Horen’s Welcome - Jula and Piov First Seed - Vzmey and Hyff Grand Harvest - Gronna and Droba Sun’s Smile - Tov and Yermey Amber Cold - Msitza and Dargund Deep Cold - Joma and Umund Months of the Canonical Year Wzuvar - Mejeni Redpoll Byvca - Bogdan’s Warbler Jula - Dove Piov - Hummingbird Vzmey - Atheran Kestrel Hyff - Pine Robin Gronna - Northern Bluebird Droba - Purple Finch Tov - Golden-caped Crow Yermey - Waldenian Sparrow Msitza - Five-feathered Magpie Dargund - Northern Swallow Joma - Blackbird Umund - Yatl Tern Fasts of the Canonical Year Gomesvey - Wzuvar, Byvca, and Jula Skepyr - Piov, Vzmey, Hyff, and Gronna Lejz - Droba, Tov, and Yermey Wilfulle - Msitza, Dargund, Joma, and Umund --- SIGMUNDIC YEAR SYSTEM In the modern Sigmundic Calendar, the year count is based on the date of the Final Revelation of the Prophet Sigmund (Year 1447 in imperial calendars). Years after that date are marked ‘Year of Sigmund’ or ‘Ehr Sigmunda’ (abbreviated as ES), while years before marked ‘Before the Year of Sigmund’ or ‘Aestehr Sigmunda’ (abbreviated as AES). Year 336 = 336 - 1447 = 1111 AES Year 1447 = 1447 - 1447 = 0 ES (Revelation of Sigismund) Year 1693 = 1693 - 1447 = 246 ES Year 1707 = 260 ES --- THE HAESENI ZODIAC The Haeseni Zodiac is a collection of six constellations (plus the Moon) assigned to two months of the calendar, and is commonly used to predict the temperament and behavior of children born in its time-frame. Each sign is symbolized by a mythological creature or founder, and aside from the moon, carries a set of relationships with its peers. THE MOON | Wzuvar and Byvca [Snow’s Maiden] Nikul, the Silver Moon The son of the solar rays, who taught the Highlanders the ways of the harvest and the hunt, and how to construct the first fires. However, when he father saw this, he cursed the Highlanders with burnt skin when faced under his gaze for too long, and forced Nikul to appear for only half the day. Those born under his sign are known for their jovial and overall content nature, aiming to please those around them, but are hard think for themselves and easily manipulated. Ally - None Rival - None --- THE QUEEN | Jula and Piov [Horen’s Welcome] Morrighein, Lady of the Moon Morrighein, the mythical queen of the hinterlands, who waged a fifty-year war against the vile Mali’Dun and led another fifty-year golden age. When her son was captured in battle by her elven enemies, she offered herself in sacrifice for his life. Those born under her sign are traditionally held as leaders, altruistic and selfless to an extreme, and rarely carrying the same regard to their own health and wellbeing. Ally - The Giant Rival - The Wopperklaw --- THE CROW | Vzmey and Hyff [First Seed] Gorm, the Three-Eyed Crow When the mighty glaciers melted at the Great Torrent, the Three-Eyed Crow guided the Highlanders into the newly-formed valley. Yet when they looked to the specifics where to settle for their tribes, Gorm could not answer, and the people divided and fought over the new land. Those born under his sign are known for their sageness, wisdom, and capability for abstract thinking, yet inaction, procrastination, and their own self-questioning rules their mind and heart. Ally - The Wopperklaw Rival - The Wyrm --- THE WYRM | Gronna and Droba [Grand Harvest] Garundonrech, the Worm Lord The great Worm Lord ruled the under-earth for centuries, his ambition knowing no bounds as he conquered relentlessly with his great armies of mice-men. However, in his madness, he aimed to rule the volcanoes, and died when trying to enter its magma core. Those born under his sign are known for their ambition and spontatunity, bold in their beliefs, yet their stubbornness and lack of forethought to many make them dangerous and unpredictable. Ally - The Drake Rival - The Crow --- THE GIANT | Tov and Yermey [Sun’s Smile] Osbjor, Champion of the Giants The chief of the legendary Gauntr, who taught the Highlanders the way of honored battle, considered the patron of Highlander ‘chivalry’. His great rivalry with Frysklund is recited in countless ballads, ending in the fantastical Dual of the Delung which culminated in both their deaths. Those born under his sign are traditionally known for their honor and loyalty, though are unable to look past their idealistic and cherried views of the world. Ally - The Queen Rival - The Drake --- THE WOPPERKLAW | Msitza and Dargund [Amber Cold] Koltin, the Cursed Magus The court-magus of the legendary king Joren, whose knowledge helped construct the first great Highlander cities. Yet when he saw to learn beyond the mortal world, he was tricked by the demons of the Void and turned in the twisted wopperklaw. Those born under his sign are known for their curiosity and tolerance in the unknown around them, though lacking in loyalty and deviant in social norms. Ally - The Crow Rival - The Queen --- THE DRAKE | Joma and Umund [Deep Cold] Frysklund, the Northern Drake While it was the giants who taught the Highlanders the ways of combat, it was the fierce and cunning Northern Drake who bestowed them the knowledge of strategy. For centuries he ruled the land from the mountains, but fell in the Dual of the Delung when betrayed by his son for five golden thistles. Those born under his sign are known for their cunning and wise-planning, though are mostly feared and disliked for their perceived cutthroat and treacherous nature. Ally - The Wyrm Rival - The Giant
  2. Alister Wailer (Naumarian: Alistar Vailer) was a Haeseni courtier, poet, and knight in the service of Kings Petyr I, Andrik II, and Marus I, and one of the most famous of the Haeseni Stranniks (poet-knights) of the Johannian Era. Much of his works, many unpublished in his notes, were lost following the Fall of Karlsburg in the First Northern War (including his lost epic poem, the Mariad), though the collection that survive have remained a cornerstone of Haeseni literary and poetic tradition. Alister died following the Battle of Elba due to an infected arrow-wound, and was one of the few ignoble individuals of the age given a royal funeral by the state. (Ooc: Full credit to @floop who wrote all these, posting so they aren’t lost in the jungle of google docs) --- THE SELECTED WORKS OF ALISTER WAILER WRITTEN BY THE HAND OF ALISTER WAILDER PUBLISHED BY HIEROMAR LUDOVAR THE ELDER, SSE --- SOLDIER’S SONNET When I look out to the North what I see It brings joyous tears to mine wide eyes I will pray the creator hears my plea I will fight and shout to the very skies Creator protect this beautiful land With its Illustrious pines, and frosty air Wise one I beg thee please guide my hand So that I may truly protect its heir From Karlsburg’s stone walls high they stand with might To the wild unkempt untamed Northmarch of freedom The great white expanse will shine gloriously bright Each man with the liberty GOD guaranteed him Loyal golden crows of the north heed my word Loyal golden crows of the north march for’rd --- LIMERICK NO. 1 There was a man from Haense In his **** he did feel pains So he cut it off And now all the ladies scoff It seems they don't want his brains --- A VILLANELLE ON SACRIFICE What truly is Sacrifice? Is it a personal burden each man must carry? Perhaps tis’ permanent or a moment in life that must be given once, or twice, or thrice? A punishment for our greed, and avarice? Is it with the grain or contrary? What truly is Sacrifice? A response to every human vice? Is there only one thing to give or does it vary? Perhaps tis’ permanent or a moment in life that must be given once, or twice, or thrice? Is it esoteric or precise? The focus of life or ancillary? What truly is Sacrifice? Oh creator what is the price? Simply a way to keep us wary? Perhaps tis’ permanent or a moment in life that must be given once, or twice, or thrice? How does one open the doors to paradise? On this I shall wonder till my body they bury. What truly is Sacrifice? Perhaps tis’ permanent or a moment in life that must be given once, or twice, or thrice? --- THE STORY OF WILLIAM BRANDYNUCK I once knew a gambler named William Brandybuck Now Billy Brandynuck had a lot of luck Until one day in the stables a mare did buck I yelled “duck” He yelled “****” And that was the end of Billy Brandybuck --- A POEM FOR THE HIGHLANDS When the sun sets in the west it can warm the coldest heart you see And The heartlanders have their fields and flowers so beautiful, and gay But when I look out at those misty pines I know there is nowhere I’d rather be For the North is my land, and it is so much more than clay The beauty of other regions is ephemeral, oh sadly so But not the glory of Haense, oh no I have felt the North’s pure snow on my shoulder I have been in Haense and felt the frost nip the air With its unparalleled beauty there is nowhere I’d rather grow older Oh yes I have seen Haense and I know I must be there From its misty mountains strong and high To the clear blue northern sky Let the bells of Haense’s freedom ring --- HAIKUS FOR A LOST FRIEND Fur as white as snow A Smile as bright as the sun Gone too soon my friend When my Kingdom comes I will see you there for me On the other side friend The clock of time ticks Oh Until we meet again Reunited my friend --- KING PETYR’S POEM What is the meaning of this loss? Is it a source of sorrow, of inspiration? A bridge together we must cross? A silent shout that echos through our nation? ‘Tis the loss of a father ‘Tis the pain of a daughter ‘Twill bring us farther ‘Twill make us stronger Perhaps it just is That everybody dies But we shall carry the legacy of his Legends live in highlander, hearts, minds, and eyes. --- SONETTA NO. 5 [SONETTA FOR THE SEASONS] Were I to Compare thine beauty to that of a new Spring It would simply be unkind to do the season such a disservice For I have seen you when the flowers bloom, I have seen the luster you bring Oh yes I have seen your stride in the springtime and how you leave the men nervous Shall I compare thine eloquence to the winds of winter? Of course not, for your charisma can not be questioned Oh, your words, the coldest hearts they splinter Clear as ice, pure as snow, for legend they are destined If I were to compare thine wit to the nip of fall It would not be fair, for your mind is sharper than the storms of autumn Tis’ now that I see why you leave them befuddled at every ball Oh When they hear you speak, no man will be able to forget what you taught ‘em Shall I compare thine voice to the tender sunshine of summer? It would not be fair to the season, for in your heart you have the song of the birds My lady I have heard thee sing, and they melody can be matched by no bard, or drummer You have left me awestruck, for in your voice is all is beautiful from poems, to idle words Nay My lady I Shan’t Compare thee to a season, for ephemeral their beauties are Oh yes thine qualities are not so fleeting, truly you are a shining star
  3. Lye Lent An ancient creed, rekindled. To Overgrow. As the children of Malin toil to rebuild from the desolation of Atlas, perhaps more than ever they stand divided. Gladewynn, Aegrothond, Haelun’or, Fenn, and Vira’ker. In the shadow cast by bickering and division, the Mali are made weak, and when stagnation sets in, it rots all to the very core. Monsters, beasts, and dark forces. In recent times, it was the September Prince and the Veyl Order, but the divine and ancient are not the only threats, for beasts can take many forms. Arcas is untamed, wild, and unexplored, and as the scattered Elves work to recover and spread resources thin, those who wish our kind ill-will fester. It is times such as these that our Elder-kind requires unity and strength. With these words, the Vigil of old is reformed. Come fellow Mali, and all who would be our allies. We seek the cunning, the wise, and the strong, for the evils that lurk in the deepest corners of Arcas must be brought to light. The Vigil is presently gathering its numbers in the lands Alderyn. All those would work for the betterment of all Mali should seek us out there. ~.-Our Noble Purpose-.~ The Vigil shall work to pacify the untamed wilds and forgotten threats of the world. The Vigil shall hunt those who wield the dark arts and oppose such corruption wherever it surfaces. The Vigil shall lend its strength to the defense of all Mali, for the blood of Malin is precious and our prosperity paramount. The Vigil shall study the workings of the world so that it may effectively fulfill its duties. ~.-An artist rendering of Revin a notable member of The Vigil, Circa 1559-.~ ~.-Ranks-.~ Elvalmuel - The Purple The purple is the leader of the order of The Vigil and deals mostly at an administrative level, dictating the movements and message of the order as a whole. However it is rare, the purple is a fierce opponent and can be seen fighting alongside The Vigil when duty calls them to do so. During times of peace and war it is Elvalmuel who guides, preserves and remains Vigilant in the face of any and all threats. Elvallel - The Blue The blue are the officers of the Vigil, organizing its operations when the Elvalmuel is unavailable, and they are often the ones to lead small groups warriors into battles. They are also tasked with seeking out new Mali to join the ranks of the Vigil. Elmiruel - The Red Elmiruel are considered the elite and most competent elven warriors of the Vigil. The grizzled soldier has proven themselves repeatedly in battle and hold the battle line— inspiring their fellow Vigils. When Elvalmuel and Elvallel are not in attendance the Elmiruel are expected to lead the Elibar and Eltaynei not only with fine example but also with experienced judgment to enact the goals of the order of The Vigil. Elibar - The White Elibar, The White, are the first true-members of the Order. No longer mere initiates, but not a ranking member of the Vigil, it is Elibar who heed the order of those of the upper ranks— and guide and train the initiates. Through demonstration of quick wit, able-body and dedication— it is the White who will continue to advance through the ranks of the Vigil. Eltaynei - The Green The Taynei are the elves who have first joined the Vigil. It is these elves who are considered little but initiates in the eyes of the Vigil and its members. It is through dedication, and discipline which the Taynei will make their way to the rank of Elibar. ~.-Vigil History-.~ The order of The Vigil’s history is a rather new one, being founded originally on the landmass known as Vailor. The prominent group started as a reactionary movement to the division within the Elven Realms at the time. Prominent founders were Uhier and Arche Raell, who wished to unify the elven identity with one goal in mind-- to protect the divided and weak elven states and by doing so aiding in the healing of such states though that protection. Through a massive recruitment campaign and the efforts and progress shown with the actions of the founders the numbers of the order blossomed and at its peak, The Vigil could rally 20,000 to 30,000 men alone. These numbers would be put to work in the Silver State of Haelun’or where a schism left them without a military to protect them from the rouge High Elven state of Celien. They offered to serve in place until the state could afford its own military restored. The Vigil were at the head of such projects as restoring a unified Elven state with the Wood Elves of Laureh’lin and the Dark Elves of Ker’nor known as The Dominion of Malin. They even succeeded in ending the schism that plagued the High Elves, eventually toppling Celien. However over time the order lost numbers, a clear goal and a leadership that could generate interest in the group. Eventually throughout many decades of decay, The Vigil finally departed the Silver State as the self-proclaimed Silver Exodus until ultimately disbanding on the landmass known as Axios. ~.-Vigil Code-.~ 1. A Vigil must remain loyal, without question, to the Order and its ways. 2. A Vigil must not take the life of another member. Murder is for lesser beasts such as wolves and bears. 3. A Vigil may not steal from their fellow brethren, for to do so is unbecoming of both an elf, and of any descendant. 4. A Vigil must remain stalwart in their preservation of the ways of elfkind, not perverting their ways with the influence of the other races. Interbreeding is to be avoided, for it dulls our long-lived blood. Application: *Credits for creation: DustyDune, Aviers* *art of Revin by keem, art of warrior by VCepesh, and art of Vigil flag by MagicPastry*
  4. The Library An institution of scholars, scientists, and warriors alike, all marching forward in the name of the preservation and expansion of knowledge. The Grand Library of Dragur has existed for nearly two centuries, having been formalized in the land of Vailor by our founder, Orithur. Although the Library has gone through a number of transformations during its long lifetime, in the modern day, in the land of Arcas, the Library is located inside the Cloud Temple ring, just past the marketplace, which is at the base of the stairs from the central temple. If you’re having trouble, just look for the golden statue of Orithur standing amidst a small sandstone fountain (236, 52, -508). Design This iteration of the Library follows the previous division of literature into three wings. However, unlike past Libraries, the wings aren’t labeled by number or direction, but rather they are named categorically by the general theme of the contents within. Additionally, instead of having a large and central museum, the Library has two hallways adjacent to the lobby in which are displayed some of our greatest artifacts, divided into those archaic, and those modern. Beyond the threshold of our gate, you will find yourself in a cozy room offering numerous seats, free coffee and pastries, and a central desk at which you can speak to one of our Librarians or Scholars. To the left and right are the relic hallways, displaying some of our more intriguing and powerful artifacts as illusions (we wouldn’t want something getting stolen!). To the left and right of the central desk are short connection hallways bringing you into our central wing, the ‘Academic Wing’. The literature here is that which focuses on scholarly pursuits, such as: theories, studies, guilds & orders, religions, and works of poetry and fiction. To the left is the ‘Historical Wing’, in which is contained all cultural and racial history and literature. Finally, to the right is the ‘Thaumaturgical Wing’, in which is contained all magic, alchemical, and creature literature. In addition to the above, this iteration of the Library has a centrally located lecture and event room, behind the Academic Wing, free for use upon request by any guild or organization. You are free to request to have the room redesigned to fit the theme of your event, festival, or educational session. To the further left of the ‘Historical Wing’ is a private hall in which are placed the dormitories of the Library staff. And to the further right of the ‘Thaumaturgical Wing’ is the Restricted Section, a private wing of the Library for dangerous and misunderstood literature and relics. Access to this area can only be granted by the Caretaker. Services This Library offers a number of services to the general public, a few of which are free, and a few of which come at a small cost. Although in the past our services have been rather limited, we strive to grow and change with the times to better assist the general public wherever we can. Book Copying An age old service in which the dying art of bookbinding is put into place to share the vast swathes of knowledge we have within our walls. Any book on public display may be requested, and we offer two means by which to complete this exchange. You may have books copied at a cost of one thousand mina, per book, or you can offer a book for trade, per book, that we do not already have within our walls. Transcribing The art of the written word, the taking down of notes, stories, and any other orally shared information. Any Librarian or Scholar can be approached to take down a tale you have to share if you yourself lack the skill, or resources, to produce a book. After some minor revision and restructuring, your shared information will be publicized, less it is considered to be dangerous, in which case it will be put into the restricted section. Archiving A newer service brought about in this iteration of the Library, archiving is the storage of literature, temporarily, and at a cost. In the event that you are concerned about theft, war, or any circumstance in which your valuable books may be put at risk, you are welcome to come to use for their temporary storage! The cost of this service is one thousand mina, per IRL week, per five books. If you fail to make a payment, you will be given a three IRL day grace period before your books will be seized, and made our property. Guidance The giving of information about the world. Our Scholars and Librarians are very learned people, familiar with the land of Arcas and the nations within it. In the event that you are unfamiliar, or perhaps just looking for a refresher, you are free to approach any Library employee for an explanation about politics, nation leaders, wars, rivalries, alliances, locations, guilds, and most anything else! Additionally, if you’re looking for a specific piece of literature, or a relic, ask a Librarian or Scholar for help, and they will help you locate the item. Public Index For your benefit, to skip the line at the Librarian’s desk, read ahead and survey our public index to find what you’re looking for! Index. Employment The cogs that turn the machine of the Library are those most refined and studious, individuals with the highest degree of intellect and ethics. Our Scholars and Librarians are recruited from all walks of life, never a day have we discriminated against applicants, for we operate on a strict meritocracy. Those who fail, are removed, those who succeed, are promoted, regardless of race, age, gender, and health. With this in mind, there is only one position within the Library that can be directly applied for. Scholars Firstly, the prospective scholar must make way to the Library, and request to speak with a Librarian that is present. Once one arrives, they should pose their interest to that Librarian, and express why they believe they are a fit for the position. Secondly, they will be asked to provide one or two pieces of original work, in the form of literature, for quality and content inspection. If the work is adequate, the prospective Scholar will enter the third, and final, stage of applying. At this point, they will undergo an oral interview, during which they will be questioned about their past, affiliations, interests, magics, political opinions, and so on. The specific questions are different, and entirely up to the interviewing Librarian. Alternatively, you may send a letter (in the form of a response to this post), addressed to the Caretaker of Dragur Library, to arrange a meeting with a Librarian. In this letter you should discuss why you believe you are a fitting candidate for the position. When you arrive for your meeting, bring your original literature with you. Staff Hierarchy Caretaker - Darcassan Auceps Librarians - Slots - Argus Evaeros - Lockezi - Bastien - Celia Scholars - Airebys Sylric - Solirynir Ilmoriel Library Discord Although primarily used as a place to organize Dragur’s player and community-team staff members, the Discord is also open for non-staff who are friends with existing staff, and for guild leaders/members who wish to use our space for their events. If you would like to join, contact me at Lukariatias#7126.

  11. Previous Stories: Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: We have reached Part 4 in this series, ending the first arc in the “Key to Oblivion” stories. Thank you for reading the storyline so far and I hope you enjoy “The Darkness Within,” the final story of the first arc. ~(+)=~=(+)~ Some stories don’t get to end with a joyous note. Others have far more twisted ends to them while the people are left with a sobering fact of life. We all can die and never come back. This was especially true to Karren Myrsta when his throat was slit back in the Druid Grove by Nivndil some years ago. He had left the world while the September Prince still roamed the land, terrorizing the population and leaving him with the sense of powerlessness that drove him to begging for death. Now, he resided in a world that offered no quarter with demons wishing to end his pathetic life so that he may never exist again. When his grandfather “dreamed” of seeing him as he was now, in the middle of transitioning into a beast of corruption and wielding dangerous magical power, he did not wish for him to see how far he had fallen and how close he was to turning into a being of pure hatred-tortured relentlessly by those that resided within the hellworld of The Pit. It was the one thing that he had wished to never lose-the good memories of him, tainted forever by how far that he had become-and the one thing that forced him to cling to dear life within this hellscape. To Jarsek, however, the sight of his grandson being a figure of pure heart and how he became something frightening was enough to break his very heart-shatter his core into millions of pieces. Ascended could not help him with this kind of problem as it affected him deeply to the point of wanting to die, but there was another force deeper within that fought to keep him alive. There was no other way for him to stay alive, broken as he was, besides taking up the darkness within his very being and letting it run free within him. Surging like wildfire and feeling cold to the touch, Jarsek would begin to learn about this driving force of Creation and even attempt to understand it through how it would react to certain situations, but however, something felt like it was being prevented from unleashing itself fully into his body, acting like a powerful restraint that would appear to be indestructible. Not a single clue on how to release that preventive restraint, Jarsek had only one option left to him at the time: begin to learn about the darkness within. This would motivate him into something that would either drive him into insanity or elevate him into power, depending on how fate had willed it. He wanted to know what this darkness was inside of him to the point of asking critical questions that would prove to be even more complex to answer as they simple to ask. “What is this feeling? Where did it come from? Is this part of our curse?” would three of the many questions that would plague his mind for years to come until he either gained a satisfactory answer or not. Critical questions that would endlessly plague him to the point that they would be burned forever to his core, questioning everything. Unbeknownst to even most High Elves, curiosity can be a powerful motivator for either the good or the bad choices made every second of every day, but Jarsek was the most afflicted in this case. Intelligent and witty, he would try his best to understand how this feeling within him worked and what it was truly... ~(+)=~=(+)~ While Jarsek had this feeling within him, something else was brewing in a currently unknown continent known as Arcas. Something that was not always so simple as the lands were brimming with life and suppressing that which was attuned to the darkness, keeping it in perpetual slumber. At least, for now...
  12. Previous Stories: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/179359-the-dream-part-1/ https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/179386-cursed-bloodline-part-2/ ~(+)=~=(+)~ It doesn’t end. Ozais and Jarsek went into the town of Belvitz to find all the residents asleep, but strangely enough, Jarsek wasn’t feeling the darkness within him surge through his veins as it did the last time he was in the presence of his master. Even as his true name was called out, something lingered deep within his soul-eating away piece by piece of his ethereal light. He didn’t feel like something invaded his soul or was growing inside of it, but it felt hollow-empty from within. He didn’t wish to seek out the help of the Ascended, who might help him understand why his soul felt hollow inside, or seek any kind of magical attention due to the fact that Jarsek didn’t understand what was happening to him. Then he felt his mind slip, replaced with a dark hollowness that seemed to entrance him. Jarsek kept muttering how cold it felt, even though it wasn’t horribly cold in the town of Belvitz. This coldness radiated deep within his soul and if he was touched, his skin would’ve felt cold to the touch. It wasn’t any magic that affected him, unless you counted what has happened to him thus far. From the dream to the bloodline curse awakening deep within him, Jarsek has had an adventure that most people would try to back out of once they realized where the story was going. Unfortunately, Jarsek was not the type to back out and as a consequence, he would suffer great torment and pain from within. Merely half an hour passed before he regained his senses by Ozais slapping some sense back into him, but it was not without its cost. The bloodline curse took hold within his soul and then would spread to his body, slowly beginning to break it down and further exhaust the young high elf. Little did Jarsek know that some parts of his dream weren’t just symptoms of depression, but of something else. Something else that if awakened, would change Jarsek’s life forever. If people cared to notice his eyes, they could tell that the ambition had been reignited, but not in the way they would’ve expected. His eyes were carrying the Blighted Fire, a darkened flame that burned two types of colors: Black and Purple. The blighted fire wouldn’t mean much in the present time, but no one could predict what it would mean in the future.... A hollowed soul... A blighted fire, reignited... The pain of rememberance... Death of one they loved... A will, shattered by false hopes and dreams, turning to ill... Something was brewing deep within the high elf that would continue to fester until it either broke him or forced him to commit acts of impurity and murder. A hunger was beginning to take form within his soul that not even he could fight alone-a hunger that would become lethal. This was something else.... Something that can blight even the sharpest of sight and quench the fire within. There was an evil within that wanted free.....
  13. Previous story: ~(+)=~=(+)~ I felt the darkness take hold when I stared into the eyes of my master Ozais, along with the insanity that strangely flowed into my inner darkness-fueling it. It felt replenishing for me to feel my blood grow cold with my darkness flowing through after decades of burying it deep within. The pain and suffering I went through.... I finally understood why I was a good soldier.... The Myrsta bloodline always had some kind of darkness within them, awaiting to be awakened. From their inception, each of those within the clan-either man or woman-felt their darkness be dormant within and the urge to try to coax it awake. Some of the Myrsta bloodline-like Karren prior to his death-had a greater urge to awake and sate their inner darkness while others-like Jarsek-did not have such powerful urges. It doesn’t take much for their darkness to be coaxed to the surface, however, because darkness can come in varying forms. From wishing to know or experience dark magic to even the simplest task of killing those either innocent or otherwise, those within the Myrsta clan can coax their darkness out to the surface, but with a severe cost of losing part of themselves to their dark depths. No magic can undo this, sadly, because it is a firm belief of those within the Myrsta bloodline that those who carry Myrsta blood-even changing their name would not work-within their veins are cursed to feel their inner darkness take hold and make them suffer in varying ways, though no one is sure just how many ways this darkness can make the person suffer. Shades cannot shade those within the Myrsta bloodline due to this belief, but it doesn’t mean that they aren’t susceptible to the dark thought. When Karren was still alive and wishing to be shaded by an old friend of his, the shade felt the darkness of their family curse and threatened to not shade the boy and his “split personality” if he continued to seek being shaded. What the shade did not realize at the time was that a single act of denying Karren that which he wished to have fueled his darkness even more, even to the point of fracturing the boy’s mind. When Ozais, Jarsek’s master, looked into his eyes, he found the darkness take root within his mind-fueled by the Graven’s Eye and coaxed into being. It turned him into a soldier of darkness, making him a Dark Phoenix. To those who are not aware, a Dark Phoenix is the physical form of a Myrsta fallen into darkness-never to be returned to the light. Madness and in the presence of a dark creature made Jarsek’s darkness truly come alive and nearly wipe away the man’s personality that he worked hard to create, but even the family curse could not completely change the person they once were. They couldn’t be returned to the light by any magical means, of course, but there are always pathways back to the light if needed. Though Jarsek now felt his curse take root, that did not alleviate his nightmares about his grandson. When Jarsek was shot and knocked out in Sutica, he was sent back into that hellworld of a nightmare. This time, there was endless screaming along with the ever-burning fire and brimstone accompanying the sight of the black armored figure. It was also different in the fact that the armored figure was turning to face him directly. The figure seemed to have black eyes within his helmet and at his side, the figure had a sheathed greatsword with some kind of magical symbols on the scabbard. Symbols that Jarsek did not understand. He looked to be the same height as Jarsek, but the black eyes within the helmet seemed to be soulless, unlike his master’s eyes. The figure would begin to speak in a gravelly voice to Jarsek... “Grandfather?” The figure would ask with a sad tone. “How can you be here?” “Karren? Is that you underneath all that armor?” Jarsek would ask his grandson, almost pleased to see him once again. “Yes, but you need to leave grandfather.” Karren would say with a small undertone of urgency. “If you stay here, you won’t be able to get back.” “Back?” Jarsek would ask Karren, confused as to what he means. “To Atlas. You aren’t done, not yet.” Karren replied, sounding a little joyous to see his grandfather. “Though I wish I could hug you, you need to wake up.” “Where are you, my grandson?” Jarsek would ask, shedding tears of both joy and sorrow. “Somewhere that only the dead can survive. Barely.” Karren would reply as he would withdraw his sword in preparation of a fight. “Now go!” Jarsek would want to reply with saying how much he loved him and how badly he wished he was there to save his poor grandson from the darkness, but it was when he heard his true name that he felt the chains of life begin to force him awake and suffer through the pain of being shot in the arm. His anger took root as he remembered where his grandson had been this time and that made his inner darkness grow even more within. He was not going to allow himself to fall into that darkness again.... He woke up in his room-hours later-as he didn’t sleep easily last night. He would have a long day ahead of him, but there was a lingering question in his head. Where would the dead survive barely and how can I get back there?

  15. The dream happened again. Jarsek wasn’t sure as to why he had the dreams of his dead grandson Karren, but something felt strange down to his core. Each dream was the same every time he closed his eyes and let his exhaustion take over from the day’s events. These dreams fueled him every day, but the fuel was mortal and it ate away at his soul little by little as if they affected him on a much deeper scale than what any magic could do to him. To those he considered friends, he looked tired more and more with each passing day. His once-glowing ambition that burned within his steel gaze had grown dimmer and colder as his essence was being affected by this strange coldness he felt within. Within the privacy of his home, he had grown sad and his intense feeling of depression had begun to ravage through his veins-sometimes even attracting attention from the outside. Though no one could understand just how sad he truly was. How badly his grandson’s death-that happened years ago-affected him and how he bottled it up. This dream that kept cropping up in Jarsek’s nighttime slumber was not helping to please him, but it made him even sadder. The dream, from what Jarsek could remember, was what he wrote in a journal before he departed to Haelun’or: A dream of fire and brimstone. Jarsek would appear in a giant place full of fire and lava, full of creatures that he did not easily recognize and was scared of. To this warrior high elf, he wasn’t sure why that he dreamed of the place that Iblees would call home, but nonetheless he would try to force himself to wake up to no avail. He felt like the world was too hellish for his steel-like determination, but something kept urging him to try to survive the hellish world around him. With no other chance, Jarsek would try to follow the urge as if it was his only guide in this hell he found himself in. It would continue to go through the fire and brimstone landscape until he would wake up, drenched in sweat. The high elf would, each time before he would wake up, see a black armoured figure with the strength of a hundred men with some kind of spectral black aura. A pure black aura, blacker than any dark magic he knew. The dream, Jarsek would come to realize, was an omen. A powerful dark omen that would change his world forever...
  16. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vedran opened his eyes. He found himself not in the green forests within the boundaries of the Empire, but a forest that was somewhat different - albeit familiar to him. He looked to his, and looked to his right - he looked down, and he looked up. On every side of him, there were golden and orange leaved trees, as if wherever he was still was going through Fall when it instead was the Amber Cold last he remembered. Alas, the fellow’s sense of time was skewed from traveling away from the walls of Caroulstadt and to other realms, Seconds had passed, perhaps minutes had passed before Vedran realized where he was. A shiver ran down his spine as the realization hit him. It had been much time since he last traveled to this realm, for which he had no name. He knew very well what it was that lingered in these woods, and what lied past the reaches of the golden forest. He reached into the satchel that hung from his belt, grasping one of the many objects that lied within, and out from it, he pulled a feather - a feather that had an amethyst hue to it. He could’ve sworn that the feather glowed so very faintly, though perhaps it was his mind playing tricks on him. He slid the strange feather back into his satchel. He looked around once more, seeing a stream that was further up ahead. Slowly he approached the stream, passing by several similar-looking trees. As he neared the stream, Vedran felt an odd sensation - a sensation that was like a buzzing of sorts, not like that of a bee or a wasp, but that of electricity. Apprehensively he took a few steps away from the water that ran along a natural pathway of pebbles and stones, turning around soon afterward, and hurrying off in the opposite direction. He ran for what may have only been two minutes, perhaps five minutes, maybe even a dozen minutes. However long it was that the brown-haired fellow ran, eventually he came to a stop, lowering himself near the roots of one of the golden trees littered throughout the Autumn forest. He cursed under his breath, cursing himself in particular. “What is there to fear?” He quietly asked himself. “There’s nothing to fear. You’re imagining things!” He said to himself, attempting to talk himself out of his paranoia. Though it was futile, his paranoia still got the best of him, as it did every time before whenever he ventured to this unusual realm. All he could think of was the vague figure of the creature that lingered in the woods he just so happened to be in. He had no idea what the creature was, he returned to where he originally was before the beast could confront him. All he could tell was that the creature had something to do with that which laid beyond the golden forest. The same sense of dread he felt when he first saw the jagged, scarred, and floating landscape was what he felt every time he caught sight of the beast. Vedran was absolutely certain there was a connection between the two, and that it wasn’t a simple coincidence. Yet he wished that he’d thought it was a coincidence, he wished that he wasn’t absolutely sure that there was a connection, most importantly he wished he wasn’t here to begin with. Alas, that last bit was entirely his fault - and he knew it. But curiosity got the best of him, and he hoped the curiosity wouldn’t kill him as it killed the cat. It was on that thought, that he heard rustling from behind him. He froze, the fellow paralyzed by fear. He didn’t need to look over his shoulder to know what it was - the same buzzing sensation was felt, almost numbing. He steadily paced toward the tree before him, not daring to look over his shoulder. Perhaps it was by sheer luck that he managed to walk all the way to the tree, and then walk behind it. Perhaps it was because the beast bore no interest in him, for the time being at least. Vedran hid himself behind the trunk of the golden-leaved tree, reaching for the stock of the crossbow that was slung over his shoulder and rested upon his back. One gloved hand gripped the crossbow’s wooden stock, the other hand grabbed the leather-sling attached to the weapon. He pulled the crossbow up and over his head and shoulders, lowered the weapon, and rested the front end of it against the forest floor that was covered in leaves possessing various hues of yellow. He thought to himself, “Should I?” Followed up by another question, “Could I?” Finally followed up with another question, “Would I?“ He had his answer. Vedran’s right hand moved toward the crossbow’s bowstring, his index-finger curling around the tough string. He slid one of his feet into the stirrup attached to the crossbow’s front end, he then started pulling the bowstring up, locking it into place once it was pulled back far enough. The sound of rustling continued behind the tree, and a bead of sweat ran down the fellow’s forehead. He moved his right hand away from the bowstring, and moved it toward the quiver that hung from his belt, his index finger and thumb pressing against the end of a quarrel’s end. Out from the quiver he pulled the Aurum-tipped bolt, then slid it into the crossbow’s groove. He murmured a prayer to Exalted Godfrey in hopes he’d make it out of this alive. He lifted the crossbow up so the haft of the quarrel was level with his eyes, his index-finger hovered over the crossbow’s trigger. Vedran stepped out from the cover of the tree, turning to face the beast that haunted his dreams for so long. There the beast was, only a stone’s toss away from him, its blackened eyes staring straight at him. The golden arrowhead pointed at the creature’s skull, which was adorned in several horns that either curled or pointed straight toward the foliage up above. Vedran gulped. The beast dug its heels into the ground. Vedran’s index finger neared even closer to the trigger, only mere millimeters away. The beast lurched forward and toward him. Vedran pulled the trigger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  18. Votar’s Shaati Mission Statement Votar’s Shati, founded on the 20th of The Grand Harvest, 1699, by Burbur’Lur, Farseer and Huntzgrat of the Iron Uzg, exists as a way to honor the Spirits (primarily Votar), to rid the Uzg and lands surrounding it of threats, and to extend the values of the Lur clan to Uruks of all calibers and creeds. Conduct About brotherhood, looting, taming, spiritual stuff, some other stuff. OOC emphasis on the clauses below Brotherhood: The Hunters of Votar’s Shaati above all, are brothers. During hunts conflict must be put aside, fighting with your fellow hunters during hunts will be punished. The life of your fellow hunters will be put above all, should a fellow hunter die in a hunt, any spoils collected will be sacrificed in his name, to aid him in the Stargush. Brothers should wish their brother to become the best he can be, whether it means reporting his crimes, or teaching him something he could do better. By joining and going on hunts with the Votar Shaati you agree to adhere to the conduct set forth and accept any punishments that may come as a result of breaking this conduct. ((Aka punishment clause, by joining this guild and going on hunts you understand that breaking rules will result in IC punishment, the worst penalty being Whitewashed.)) Spiritual Sacrifice: Honoring the Spirit of The Hunt should come above all, therefore loot from every hunt should be sacrificed in the name of 1. Votar 2. Lur and 3. Other Spirits. The members of Votar’s Shaati should strive to honor these spirits, and not be greedy with the amount they take, as it was Votar who allowed them to partake in such a grand hunt. Taming: This guild is not one made for would be druids. Taming wild animals, while they may be used to hunt in the future, or even be made into companions, will never be the objective of a hunt. Nor will hunters of the guild go out of their way to kill any mother of cubs, or any mother carrying cubs, as it is up to these animals to grow up, and reproduce, so that we may continue to hunt. On the off chance that there is a cub left behind, that has little chance of survival on its own in the wild, or a cub of an extremely rare animal that we have the capability of preserving in captivity, caring for the animal, until its eventual adulthood, will be tolerated. Maiming and Death: Scars to many hunters are trophies, proof of their living to tell the tale of their hunt, above the rank of Piil you will see many decorated with these previous wounds. Dying in a hunt, as rare as it may be, to many members is one of the most honorable deaths they may achieve, akin to a warriors wish for a death in battle. Should a hunter die on a hunt, all loot gathered will be sacrificed in his name, to aid him in Stargush. This is not to say you should let your fellow hunters die, if you are able to save them, then it is not yet their time to go, and are not destined to die on this hunt. Should you leave your brother to die when you were able to help him, you will be hunted by all those of the guild. (Above Kasaak maim perms are enforced, above Piil, death perms are enforced. This will be gone over before every hunt to make sure everyone is aware. It is believed by these members of the guild that if a fellow hunter dies, and mysteriously returns to life, that it is the work of Buurzmojo. Note: PK/Maim clauses are not enforceable OOCly, however, if they are not respected you will be barred from the group & such events.) Looting: Loot distribution will be agreed upon by the party beforehand, the types a party can choose are laid out below. Only one spoil from the creature may be taken, and the rest is sacrificed. Leader’s Pick: The leader of the hunting party decides, this has the potential to be an unfair system if the leader is not fair with the distribution of the loot. When under the leadership of a hunter who is known to be unbiased and trustworthy, this is a good system. Vote: The party will vote to determine he who showed the most prowess in the hunt and they will have the pick of one spoil from the creature. Killing Blow - He/She who strikes the killing blow on the beast gets to decide how loot is distributed. The person must be of Zult or higher, otherwise it defaults to leader’s pick. Distribution must be relatively fair or they will be punished, demoted or simply kicked from the guild. If someone waits to strike, in order to steal the killing blow, they will be punished accordingly, if someone is injured or killed because of this mistake, they will be whitewashed from the Uzg, and known as a Kinslayer. Hierarchy The Huntzgrat A title generally assigned by The Rex of The Uzg, this hunter, most of the time a Lur, is tasked with overseeing all of the hunters within the Uzg. His duties include give the go ahead on bounties, recruiting new members, and attending and leading hunts regularly. To this orc, it is a great honor to die on a good hunt, moving on to live with the hunters in the Stargush. | PK Clause The Skrizg | The right hand man of the Huntzgrat, this hunter serves as a second leader of the guild, able to recruit and promote those of the lowest three ranks, as well as demote. This second leader may also give the go ahead on bounties.| PK Clause Shaati (Means Spear) | Veteran hunters of the guild, given permission to lead Votars on the most difficult of prey. These hunters often serve as role models for the lower ranks of the guild, and should strive to set good examples. At any time if the Huntzgrat or Skrizg believes them to not be showing said good examples, they may lose this privilege. | PK Clause Zult | The swords of Votar, these hunters have proven themselves on many previous Votars, and at this point are capable of putting together hunting parties to tackle more dangerous beasts. Often invited to hunt with the Shaati, they are at this point given more specific tasks on the hunt, based on what they have accomplished in past hunts. | These hunters would show off previous wounds with pride, every scar obtained from a hunt, a trophy. (Maim clause will be enforced here, if you for example, lose a finger on a hunt, the monks will not magically regrow it, if you wish to fix it, you must find a way to do so in rp, whether it is having a farseer reattach it with Akezo, a witchdoctor regrowing it as a deformed limb, etc… But no, poof, its back.) (No one will be forced to promote past Piil) Votar’s Piils (Arrows) | Once a Kasaak has been recommended for promotion by another hunter of the guild, they become a Piil, or Arrow of Votar, these are the guild’s halfway members, who have begun to work more with the guild, but have not become full on hunters. | No Clauses will be enforced at this rank Kasaak | True to their name, these are the newbies of the guild. Those of higher ranks have been known to ask those of this rank to go on hunts, only to use them as bait in order to lure the beast out of hiding. Snagas and visitors in most cases, will be stuck at this rank. | This rank has no enforced clauses Note: PK/Maim clauses are not enforceable OOCly, however, if they are not respected you will be barred from the group & such events. Hunting & Bounties Hunts, or Votars are the main focus of the guild, but the Votar’s Shaati have been known to take up bounties from those outside of the guild, and sometimes even outside of the Orcish race. The guidelines to hunts and bounties are laid out below. Random Hunts. Random hunts are able to be lead by anyone above the rank of Kasaak, in which they will go out into the wilderness, and see what they can find. It is advised if they find something out of their parties capabilities of hunting, that they return to the guild in order to make a bounty. Specific Hunts. Specific hunts blur the line between random hunts and bounties, where the party seeks out specific prey, these hunts may often times take longer, and may be discouraging as some animals are not so easy to find. Should a party wish to go on a specific hunt, it is advised they seek the approval of the Skrizg or Huntzgrat, for if they do not, and they go missing, there is little that can be done to help. Bounties: These can range from something as simple as a wolf terrorizing a villages livestock, to a Murûk'Thaguzg that has torn down an entire desert villages with his bare (heh) hands. Bounties may be picked up by teams with the permission of the Skrizg or Huntzgrat, or they may have a team assigned to them. If you wish for something more /specific/ to be hunted, it is recommended that you directly contact the Huntzgrat. To submit a bounty to the Votar’s Shaanti, please use this application. Name: Creature being hunted: Danger Level 1-5 stars: Why should we help?: Location: Enrollment Enrollment in the Votar’s Shaati will be limited to, Uruks, Honorary Uruks, and our spirit worshipping Dark Elf allies. Snagas will be permitted to attend hunts should their master wish to bring them along. Visitors will be permitted to attend hunts should they have an invitation extended to them, as well as the person inviting them providing a valid reason, why they cannot instead bring a member along. To join please fill out this application. You will then be contacted and asked to come to the guild base of operations in order to be interviewed. Application: Name: Race: Age: Discord#:

  20. The Secrets of Carbarum The Gem Metal An ancient Vihai during the times of Larihei, adorning a full set of Carbarum Armor, with an axe in tow. Carbarum By far the most rare and mystical metal to be obtained by the hands of mortal men. A metal with such a reputation for its strength that speaking its very name echoes power. It shimmers and shines like diamond, its surface sleek and smooth, but strength comparable to that of scales from a true Dragon. It is almost crystal like in appearance, one of the reasons it has been commonly confused with diamond, while diamond being one of the things that tend to make the metal impure. Its beauty far exceeds any gem or ware made of other metal. Found far beneath the earth and in places where the earth touches the sky, it is no wonder that it’s hard to find, for only the most treacherous places seem to hold this awe-inspiring material. Alas, its reputation may have had its leaps and bounds, but the art of forging Carbarum has been lost to the ages, only the most ancient of Dwarven and Elven smiths knowing of its processes. Carbarum is not diamond, it is similar, but not the same. Carbarum is found only in the deepest depths of the earth and the highest peaks of mountains. Pure and Impure Pure A metal unlike every other, it surpasses all when most pure. One of the few ways known to merely bend this metal after it has been refined and forged, is by the strength of a Greater Drake, able to bend Carbarum Swords with their forearms and claws. However, its main downside is the weight of such weaponry and armor. In equal amounts, Pure Carbarum will always be at least twice the weight of Steel. If you tap Pure Carbarum lightly with a steel file or with something, you will hear a ring similar to that of silver chimes in the wind, soft on the ear. With enough force, it is even said that a man on horse-back could have his sword shatter to pieces if he struck a blade of Carbarum, though that would be a rare occurrence, and unlikely without the aid of tremendous speed. Impure Though still containing remnants of the beauty Carbarum has, it is still impure and lacks the full radiance of the legendary metal. Its weight still being roughly the same as that of Pure Carbarum, its strength is greatly diminished but in an odd way. You may take a Carbarum Axe that is made of Impure Carbarum and hack into a tree and it will remain still as effective as Pure Carbarum, but giving too hard of a tap onto something harder, such as a metal, and it will shatter like exploding glass! You can tell if Carbarum is impure, simply by lightly tapping on the metal with a steel file, or something similar. You shall hear a very soft, high pitched ring emanate from the metal, this is what causes it to shatter. The impurities in the metal cause vibrations so intense that the Carbarum quite literally shakes itself into shattering into tiny sharp shards, almost like glass! So it is important to know that Carbarum Tools remain effective if they are not struck against things that would cause the metal to resonate at such a high frequency! Iron and anything of similar or greater hardness will cause the Carbarum to resonate at such a high frequency that it will shatter! Forged In Flames This part of the post won’t be fluffy or RP friendly at all, it will be purely informational and filled with OOC. This will be the full process of Carbarum Forging! Including mining/gathering, smelting, the hammer, forging, and sharpening. Mining & Gathering Carbarum mining is a very dangerous task when you set out to do it. Any action done wrong could quite easily end in your death, so be careful! You must completely mine around the ore and not actually into it. Mining into Carbarum while it is an ore, so while it is impure, will cause it to shatter violently, releasing sharp shards of Carbarum in all directions and something else of much more concern, dust. Mere dust of Carbarum when inhaled could easily cause death. The dust particles not only potentially choking the inhaler, but also leaving thousands of tiny cuts and pieces of dust embedded in the throat and lungs. A mask is not required but highly suggested in case of an accident! Smelting and refining Nothing like melting iron or gold down in a forge, Carbarum requires special treatment for it to be done fully. First off, Drachalite and Boomsteel must be harvested for this task and ground into fine dust. This, combined with the use of Alchemist’s Fire and a forge capable of intense heat for extended periods of time will allow the smith to melt the metal. The Drachalite and Boomsteel dust being thrown into the forge with a vial of Alchemist’s Fire will purge the ore of most of its impurities, creating a large amount of slag at the surface of the molten material. After removing the slag from your crucible, you should then pour the metal into a mold, allowing it to solidify but still be malleable. With large, two-handed steel hammers, multiple men should beat on the ingot, fold it, and continue to beat on it. This should be done several times over to deliver a product that gleams a light-blue when completely free of impurities, it will be a darker hue, similar to teal when impure. You will notice when the product is nearing becoming a pure material not only from its color, but because your steel hammers are also likely to start denting themselves on the metal at this point. Note, Smelting step can be completely done with Draconic Fire if you’re able to get your hands on such. The Hammer Carbarum is not so easily forged with your everyday steel ball-pin hammer, you must use one of Carbarum, but how do you acquire a Carbarum Hammer without being able to forge the metal. Simple really, you use a Bluesteel hammer, the second best thing. You may have to reforge your Bluesteel hammer a few times as it will dent itself on striking the heated Carbarum. Otherwise, once you have made what appears to be a rather acceptable appearing Carbarum Hammer, use that one to make another Carbarum Hammer, the final one being neigh perfect for creating Carbarum of the highest quality. Forging It may take hours to fully forge Carbarum to its appropriate shape and strength, so a lot of manpower and endurance is needed for the task. This should also be done in one session because if the product cools off without being properly forged, it will warp and deform, ruining whatever you may have worked on. Even though the metal may be fiercely hot, you should know that it is still quite hard to forge even when so soft, a lot of strength required in blows to shape the metal. Any edges you wish to make should be done as thinly as possible because you will not get a second chance to simply reforge a sword so that it is thinner along its edge. Sharpening The only way to sharpen Carbarum is with a grindstone or whetstone made of Boomsteel, Ferrum, and Diamond ground into dust, with the Ferrum and Boomsteel being 90% of the stone is made of, half and half, while diamond dust is the 10%. This combination of materials allows for strength, hardness, and a bit of heat to warm the metal. Some Extra Red Lines! 1. You will need LT approval to forge Carbarum and require IRP knowledge on how it is done, currently, no one knows, so good luck finding out! 2. You will need LT signed Carbarum Ore to even start the process of forging Carbarum. 3. The knowledge of Carbarum Smithing can be self-taught or passed on via teaching if you able to actually acquire Carbarum and experiment on it. 4. Carbarum Weapons/Tools may be represented with Diamond Weapons and Tools, but of course with only the stats of iron! Carbarum Armor will require iron armor to be LT signed and represent such, and a skin!
  21. Ashigawa forge 偽造の火の中で、私たちは世界のすばらしい武器を作ります In the fire of the forge we craft the greatest weapons of the world. The Ashigawa forge is a small yet humble smithy, The smithy is located atop a mountain in the far south of the world of Atlas. Run by a man named Master Toyotomi Ashigawa. his knowledge of Smithing was granted to him by his father Samejima Ashigawa. The way of forging for Toyotmi ashigawa is not just a skill but an art form for those who are willing to learn the ways of forging. The steel the Ashigawa forges use is mined from the deep mountains of the south, delving deep they pick the best vane ore Deposits, and the best is used in the forging of their weapons and tools. Each weapon is marked by their respected blacksmith with their name, and clan marking which is “足側” meaning Ashi-gawa the apprentices who wish to join the service under the master Blacksmith Toyotomi are given a place to stay, food, clothing and a place to practice the arts. 22. Manifest Destiny Chapter I: Tensions in disguise 2036 Years of unrest, economic destruction, and revolutionary prospects finally led to the most peaceful period in 17 years. People were beginning to look forward to the future once more as the prices of oil and food dropped from their outrageous prices thanks to the efforts of the Anterior coalition and the Pan-Pacific states. The swift recovery of America and removal of most their forces from foreign territory led to a power vacuum and eventually the most quiet period the middle east had seen in decades save for Iraq. As for the Mediterranean region, unprecedented recovery was happening now that the migrant crisis of 2010’s was finally subsiding as people began to settle down and rebuild. The African allied front’s efforts has led to the first reported overabundance of clean water throughout the nation and soon its shared throughout Africa, it’s a revolutionary year for the entire continent. The year 2036 begins peaceful and calm, for now. ===EVENTS=== The Yugo-Federation will accept all trade offers this year from its European brothers, it fully denies trade with the United African Front sparking some outcries from the larger tribes that inhabit it. It watches the Greek-Turk/Egypt war eagerly as hundreds of men are signing up in the event of escalation. News comes from the Latin Confederacy of multiple border incidents with its direct competitor, Brazil. The largest one of these left 37 dead as two villages from on the Peru-Brazil border went hot over deforestation in the region. The Anterior coalition brings yet another nation under its boot through ‘persuasion’. Iraq joins as its issues with Islamic terrorism and growing anarchy that had barely been avoided becomes too much to handle domestically. Swiftly over 50,000 infantry soldiers are deployed to assist the new member with Iraq becoming a border-line police state. A meteor makes it through the atmosphere but breaks up with one part landing in Greenland, the other in the center of the African Allied Front.
  23. Clan Ashigawa “...Born in the fiery flames of the forge The spirit raises and builds aflame. Quick does the sword strike and the opponent falls.” Quoted from an Eastern Samurai poem. History of Clan Ashigawa: The origins of the Clan begin with a legendary founder known as Samejima. Samejima was born in a humble farming village to modest origins. His village was ruled by a tyrannical warband that extorted tribute out of the farmers and punished those who dared to defy them. Samejima experienced their tyrannical action when one of his uncles decided to organise a revolt against the warband to liberate the village. The revolt was crushed and ended in a bloody massacre of innocents. Samejima decided then that his purpose would be to liberate the village himself. Over the years, he trained secretly to improve his physical and mental prowess. Samejima was a spiritual man and made a monthly offering to his family shrine in homage of the spirits of heaven. Samejima trained with simple farming tools such as staffs, pitchforks and scythes. Around his mid-twenties, Samejima persuaded a number of farmers to train with him. He taught these farmers about his methods of practice and showed them how to turn the simple farming tools into weapons. Samejima was a talented leader and a strict driller who valued discipline and loyalty. Samejima continued to train his small group of followers secretly, and gradually recruited moret trainees. After a number of months, he decided it was time to organise another revolt. He carefully planned the right occasion and persuaded the bulk of the villagers to join his revolt, using the influence of his followers. Samejima organised the villagers in a strict formation, and used his disciples to maintain discipline within the ranks. When the Warband arrived to collect their tribute, they found the villagers organised in formation and ready to fight them again. The Warband did not hesitate and attacked but was quickly overwhelmed by the steady formation of villagers who were able to surround and subdue them all. The small battle was a decisive victory Samejima and his followers, and the village was at last liberated. Samejima was made Lord of his home village and founded Clan Ashigawa. Samejima proceeded to raise a large family, and carefully trained his sons and daughters to follow the militaristic and spiritual tradition that he created. His descendants proceeded to expand the village and turn it into a proper feudal possession with wooden walls and a castle. Samejima’s militaristic and spiritual legacy set the foundations for a future Samurai tradition. With the extended feudalisation of Oyashima, Clan Ashigawa became vassals to a larger feudal Daimyo. Over the generations, Clan Ashigawa produced a substantial number of accomplished Samurai warriors who followed a strict code of honour and militarism, and paid homage to the ancestral spirits of heaven in their family shrine. In recent times, the Clan participated in several feudal conflicts. During one of the skirmishes, the Samurai's of the Clan were tasked to defend a village and delay the advancement of an enemy clan to give time for their overlord levies to mobilise. The skirmish ended being a bloody stand, in which the Clan was heavily outnumbered by the enemy and surrounded. Many Samurais perished, but the head of the Clan decided to flee with a small group of followers to save his life. The defeat dishonored the legacy of his clan, and he was given the choice to commit suicide or give up his Lordship. The Clanhead chose to flee the country with his family to the continent of Atlas. His sons who learnt of this dishonor decided to follow the Samurai tradition and retrieve honour to their clan by defending the Eastern settlement in the continent. They settled in the refugee camp of Tokoko and pledged their allegiance to Master Bobo. Ethics: Clan Ashigawa is a militaristic family with a rich history in producing some of the more valiant Sumarai in their domain, forming a crucial responsibility to whom they swear loyalty to. Even in defeat, Clan Ashigawa perseveres evermore in the name of their ancestors, determined to climb out from even the darkest depths. They hold a cautious and jaded view of other cultures with a stronger contempt for alter-races. Especially the white people. Family members: Clan Head: Toyotomi Ashigawa - NurfBastion Daughters: Name to be decided - Taken Miyo Ashigawa - Bethinwonderland Sons: Sojou Ashigawa - Herufain Adopted Sons: N/A Clan members: Clan members are found throughout the Tokoko Refugee camp, they are given the responsibility to travel with the Clan head and his family and guard them from attackers, but Toyotomi would not expect anything of them he can’t do himself. Fighting and training is everyday life as well as spiritual enlightenment with the soul and Body of oneself. Members are tasked with multiple objectives in life, to Serve their clan and live with Honour, Fleeing from battle is dishonourable and would result in death if found or banished, They would be given the choice of losing their life or having to find a new one. 24. A Manifest Destiny January 3rd, 2036: The Earth had endured seventeen long years of hell as its superpowers fought over territory claims, subversion, and humanitarian crisis. As with all wars came loss, 750 million casualties due to a strategic nuking from both sides of the China-India war in 2023, a pointless conflict ending in a stalemate. Not long after the South China Sea conflict began with China coming for its claims on Taiwan until it ended with the entirety of Taiwan being wiped off the map due to an experimental nuke used by the Chinese. The European Union collapsed following the dissolution act due to the euro crash in the late 2021 after the mass succession of France and its entirety of eastern nations starting from Germany. The 2020 elections saw the largest change in recent times for the United States saw the Republican and Democratic parties completely collapse and lead to a civil war across the continent, warfare is commonplace among the north and south once again. Not everything was gloomy however and during this time period, technology developed substantially fast with the development of rail-guns and fusion power in the five major blocs helped end the global warming scare of the 21st century. Alongside these technological advances was the creation of new alliances on almost every continent, these power blocs becoming the world police due to their power with skirmishes happening daily between these newly minted alliances. The greatest event however is the disarming and removal of all nuclear devices in use by every nation in the known world and the formation of a the Taiwan treaty to prevent anymore usage, all nations signed save for North Korea whom is currently a shithole devoid of food. To delve into these new states is quite easy as cultures shifted and adapted to the changing landscape and prospects of nuclear annihilation thanks to China’s frequent usage of their small stockpile. Starting with the Latin American Confederacy , this collection of south american countries formed in the mid-year of 2020 making it the oldest of the five new power blocks as the fear of being crushed by a rapidly militarizing Brazil and Chile was to great. Second we have the Yugo-Federation, the smallest and most likely weakest of the five was formed in 2021 as a response to the collapse of the EU. Third is the most recent as the United African Front formed in 2033 in response to rising Islamic influence, rapid spread of an even stronger Ebola and a economic upheaval led to a rise in tribal warfare and eventually the formation of this nation under the boot of its current dictator. Then we have the Pan-Pacific States, a nation formed directly in response to Chinese aggression and rapid earthquakes followed by tsunamis which rocked the region with millions of deaths and economic crisis. A quick change and shared funding allowed them to recover albeit slowly with the effects of the tsunamis and earthquakes still being felt today. Last comes the Anterior coalition, this was the most unexpected formation as Iran threatened and fought its way into influencing these mid-Asian nations eventually coaxing them in. This leaves us off to you, the player, to choose the nation to play as now in 2036. The world is plunged into chaos and uncertainty with many years to come and go, will humanity rise from this perilous time or sink back to its dark age? ===== OOC: Starting off with the map, you can see the current power blocs located on the map, these are unplayable nations though they do coordinate and work just like you, there will be barely a world police to hold back player aggression. Everything other then the five power blocs is playable though severely diminished from their former powers that we know today. The majority of these nations militaries will be represented through the web-page, https://www.globalfirepower.com/ though much of it will be cut down to size significantly. We will be using discord. Population will be done taking modern population counts and multiplying them by about 0.25%, so America for example would 365,000,000 x 0.25 = 91,250,000+ 365,000,000 = 456,250,000 Americans. After you get this number your free to completely eviscerate your nation to the level you want it to be, it has no bearing on game-play. If you have any questions regarding your nation’s size, lore, and or military numbers please feel free to ask me. If you have any questions pertaining to the game rules, please message me and feel free to comment on any additions or balance changes. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vJz5dx1PgF8ypubDbbT3N2pQRKs6ZQDbX-NJUMV6D2A/edit?usp=sharing *EDIT: Due to my lack of foresight I forgot to include your initial starting AP, you begin with 6 AP at the start and through investments gradually grow. You also begin with 5 RP points, the maximum you can have is 15. (Keep that in mind for university construction.) It should be noted you do start with 100 AP at the beginning to put into any investments. Application: Your Discord’s name: Your Nation: Short background of nation: Government type: Suggestions/Feedback: Nations standing army/navy. There will be a cap of 15 people, take time with your post as quality is just as important as depth.
