The Republic of Africa

 

 

The Home Front

 

The death of Ukuwu was a shocking event to the men and women of South Africa. This shock and grief was followed only by more shock and grief: Elon Musk, President of the South African Republic, had finally passed, being nearly a century old. In his place, Marshal Dcomba is controversially elected to lead the country rather than vice president Seigmund Odamumbe. With the arrival of India into the war, and now control over the Commonwealth of Africa, a more streamlined, bureaucratic and democratic system is put in place of the old realm, and a new name is adopted.

 

The Great Afrikan War

 

With control over the Commonwealth's forces, Dcomba forces a fast deployment of the troops in Niger into Northern Chad, to sharply turn to flank the coming onslaught. 2 000 000 men are dedicated to this effort, but it seems like this might not be enough. The defensive line of Chad, only 750 000, has 500 000 basically trained troops moved from South Africa's coastal defence, but this again seems to be measly. Only time would tell of its effective use if and when the main forces were flung into it. The forces in Niger press on with the California Dominion anyhow, hoping to smash the 2 000 000 men the Caliph has to offer, though 200 000 of the 2 350 000 men dedicated in the west are transported over to east, taking up positions with their Ethiopian and South African Counterparts, leaving just over 2 000 000 men to face of against the Caliph and Indian pressing into Ethiopia, which would excersize a scorched Earth policy should they get separated from the main force (assuming they connected) all the way to the old defencive lines. The main front from the Central African Republic, sporting roughly 2 750 000 Commonwealth Soliders, 750 000 South African's, and 1 000 000 Coalition men press hard to eradicate the 500 000 Caliphate forces stuck in Sudan before being attacked by the main force, following the old plans. Requests for Coalition forces in the Horn of Africa to support the Ethiopian, South African and St. George forces are requested (Mod please).

 

USAC is given a curt thanks for the help it has provided, with a quick, sly comment about how northerner's just must not be used to the heat of conflict.

 

Cape Town completes a new aircraft carrier, and is rushed to be deployed with the new ships near Yemen (deployment will happen after mod post to avoid being ridiculous). A draft is now formed, as to press more of the men into service, though with St. George rhetoric running high among Christians, it is not hard to convince them to move to the front. drawing now from a population of over 1 billion, hopes are high to at least get enough men to stem the tide of the Caliph's wrath, though Dcomba makes plans in case that isn't how things come to play out.

 

Lastly, in an address to the people of The Republic of Africa, a scathing comment is made about how India has long since abandoned its ways of peace and progress in the name of Islam. He also makes remarks that the India today was the dream of Pakistan over a century ago, hoping to instigate the Hindu and Buddhist majority in India proper to act out against the country. The rhetoric used to try getting Sufi's to rise against the Caliph is now re-iterated to all sects other than the Sunni faith.

 

International Relations

 

The California Dominion is asked to hasten the terms of her agreement, in light of Indian intervention. They're thanked for the Tali schematics, as well as the microwave laser defences. They see production across the Republic.

 

Greece and Italy are thanked for opening new fronts, as is The Imperium. 

 

A request is made in private to all allied powers facing the Caliph to discuss the war.

 

In light of The Grand Colonial ships readying to go to Mars (2 turns), all powers with space programs are asked for an open dialogue.

The USAC

The United States of America & Canada

T.R.A.C - Confederation with CSA & SAF

 

As the many nations of the world had turned blind towards the internal developments of the USAC due to the Afrikan war and tension towards T.R.A.C, the American nation had changed beyond recognition. The Union States and the remarkable presidents of the past were forgotten in the wake of Underwood's successful reign, the immense support and prosperity for both corporation and citizen had refined the American dream and united the continent.

 

A throwback to Underwood's first political years were often made in the media.  Besides the Afrikan war, there wasn't much to report. His controversial reign as Governor of South Carolina brought much insight on where his radical Pro-American stance came from. It was found out that he planning to run for President two decades earlier, if it wasn't for his wife Natalia divorcing him.

But Francis and the people saw how far he came, with a new wife and a new face, Underwood managed to set something in motion on an exceptional scale in America. The people now genuinely believed that under Francis, they are truly the strongest nation on the planet. Not only gave that mentality loads of confidence in the military and now efficient politics of America, but it made Underwood an icon to the people similar as George Washington.

 

 

The admiration and support towards him wasn't groundless though. The man that united most of the America's, pulled the USAC out of the worst crisis it ever faced and re-established their global role as the protector of democracy. People were free, people could spend and had something grand to be proud of. With the First Lady founding many efficient charities against hunger, obesity and poverty that were decreasing in America, the Presidential Couple had a presence everywhere. A respected presence, that is. After a petition was made by the Republican Party to put Underwood on the dollar bills, a massive majority of the American people signed. In Canada and the Democratic Stronghold of Washington D.C, it wasn't as appreciated. But, the dollar bill was printed. Francis J. Underwood would always be in the pockets of the consumerist American from now on.

 

 

The media had blown the act out of proportion, in the eyes of Underwood at least.

 

 

"It isn't ethical for President Underwood to be on the dollar bill because it harms our connection to our history where our founding fathers fought bravely for United States of  America to even exist. Our founding fathers should be remembered forever, not a modern president that will vanish from the political scene in several terms. Many great presidents like Roosevelt or Carter who both contributed greatly to the world should deserve a spot on the dollar bill too, Underwood's ego-centrism is obviously reflected in his presidency. Although we cannot argue, he has done great things for this country as well. But that does not justify tyrannical tendencies like these."

 

 

"Well Jesselyn I am standing here in Baltimore where, since the Police Brutality Scandal the region was marked as the least confident in the government for decades. The local residents here are firm in their belief that Underwood does deserve his place on the dollar bill. Not because he is more important than let's say George Washington, but because the American people can thank him for the fact that there even is an America today. The elderly reflect upon the time when the Union States was about to split in various independent states, it was Underwood that united them.  Perhaps this leaves the door open for important figures to step in the portraits of our Founding Fathers to have their turn to be remembered as the man or woman, that shaped America. But the controversial change was eventually accepted, the minority could understand where the majority was coming from. The nation was coming to its full potential however. As a newer , larger generation steps in the shoes of the former one, the rise of patriotism throughout America is remarkably increasing.  The televisions showed the harsh realities of other nations outside C.A.N, media within the USAC placed an emphasis on the USAC's 'essential role within the confederation' and the sense of responsibility that reigned strong in the heads of Americans moved the society forward. Foreign hordes were after the C.A.N and in the eyes of the people they 'hate us cause they ain't us." Therefore, the perfect American continent had to be preserved. The USAC's 'little brothers CSA & SAF' would stand by this cause. Propaganda generated by the supporters of the new phenomenon "American Exceptionalism" became not only funded, but far more professional.

 

In the wake of the Afrika War, the Catholic Faith was seen as the divine barrier against the Islamic evils that roamed the eastern continents. It was known that the president was slightly religious but, it was not emphasized enough to gain support from the Catholics world wide.  It was a smart move to appeal to them, considering how the faith expanded in Europe and Africa as well during the dark times like these. Francis spoke in the local church of Gaffney:

 

 

"I never really showed my faith publicly. Not because I don't consider it an important part of my life, but because an influential figure as myself should not put an emphasis on his personal beliefs. In politics, I am tasked to run the nation in the interests of everyone. But today in this church, I am tasked to stand humbly before god. I pray every night for the victims of the Afrika war and those that witnesses the true Catholicism decaying under the guise of empires and false prophets. You can be everything you want in America but a danger to god's will and ours. Within our borders, you can practice freely and in a true manner. Such space should always be given to any religion anywhere. When our free will fails us, the only entity we can turn to is god. May he bless America for we have never strayed off the path of righteousness and liberty for all."

 

The 7,000,000 USAC troops are made ready for any potential invasions as the navy is prepared. Its retreat from the African continent did not mean that they were safe. The commissioned navy and armor vessels were almost fully completed as the C.A.N are urged to increase their military capacities as well.

The Californian Dominion

 

 

Greenland

 

The Mass Driver was finished, and with it, the Dominion has a new, extremely fast way into space. Immediately it is put to use as a large amount of materials, shuttles with personel and tech are sent into space at extreme speeds. For the people who can't deal with the G-forces, Normandy dropships push through the atmosphere with their Anti-gravity engines and land them on the space station before quickly falling back towards earth.

 

In only a few weeks, a couple hundred people and many tons of materials and equipment and sent towards Mars. 

 

Mars

 

The base itself had seen quite a lot of expansion in the past years as it now housed 400 people in its underground network of bunkers and tunnels while there were already certain factories preparing to pump out equipment necessary to survival as well as treat the metals mined on the planet. The numbers are expecte to rise to at least 800 with the new arrivals and temporary habitats as well as new rooms are drilled into the underground city, while more and more biospheres and farms are prepared for them.

 

In the meantime, the Dominion scientists continue communicating with the Nazi's and continue in their avid search for new technologies, eager to get what they can from what once was the greatest air power on their 'earth'. ((pok plz))

 

At the same time, basic defences are set up and the small space station rotating in synch with the base is slowly expanded, especially when new modules and materials arrive from earth.

 

The Dominion

 

With the ever increasing amount of tension between the East, and the large amount of men and gathered military power to the west, the Dominion tightents its already iron defences. An increasing amount of soldiers and armor are affected to them, while they are replanned in certain areas and simply modified to be more effective, both on the coast inland. More large-scale railgun cannons are installed, more AA , more patrols and more plans. All in all, the Dominion is simply fortifying its borders as much as it can, however, as usual, most of the precise intel remains shrouded in mystery, hidden behind the walls.

 

The CSA is asked into a private meeting with Arnold, as is the USAC leader, at a different date.

 

Widow Program

 

The girls had been trained brutally, dehumanized and given masks, trained to be another person, to smile when hate burned within them, to make love like a adoring wife when disgust filled them. Trained in so many different martial arts many lost count and drilled, brainwashed, broken and rebuilt. Inside, they were cold killing machines, but on the outside they were the perfect infiltrators, perhaps even the best the modern world had yet to see.

 

Given the best fake, and in some cases real papers that could be provided by the extensive network of NDE spies, contacts and funds, they are sent on their mission. Nearly all had had their missions pre-decided to some extent and of course, they had the proper ethnic origins and cultural knowledge.

 

To Germany, a girl with in depth biological training is sent, with full papers identifying her as an Austrian national with highly patriotic opinions who voted for Deutsch Reichspartei, went to a well to do university and got out with excellent scores, she tries to apply for the R&D department, posing as a girl just out of college. All of this, because of recent signs of German super-soldiers in Iberia, as well as in the Kaiser's presence. Of course, she would make no mention of them and would simply claim to wish to work for the Empire's greater good and put her skills to use. As with all agents, she has an ever smaller control chip made of various plastics and silicons in her head.

 

To Britain, one of them is sent to the Officers school, posing a young iberian refugee who fought with guerrila's in the war against the Caliphate. She would of course be knowledgeable in their ways, since many units operated with the Dominion special forces. She would attempt to gain a position as a general's aid, or something similar in the British army, by excelling in the Officer school. Her attempts would be carefully thought out to make her look rather inept for straight on unit command, at least for now.

 

To the Caliphate, with the growing speculations and construction going towards space, this one poses as an astrophysist muslim graduate from India who was trying to escape muslim oppression by unhappy Hindu's in certain regions. She would of course, know about the events in space and directly try to access a job in the Space Elevator program.

 

To the Eastern Empire, a young woman is sent to access the Foreign Relations bureau, claiming to have a degree in Politics and Economics from a smaller Chinese University she would try to access either a secreterial or administrative position and work her way up.

Confederate States of America

 

The CSA has long since moved it's planned three quarters million men to the Commonwealth. While some actually moved forward to partake in the fighting, most stayed well behind the lines. With them were some three hundred rail-gun tanks, with a large iron fist of three thousand regular tanks. CAMELS carried the armies supplies, ensuring they could move long distances on rough terrain at a moments notice. With the new IC movements being charted out, the CSA decides to act. One million men, all with high end tech, years of war in America under their belt, and damn fine generals. They were veterans, and knew what they would be doing. Moving form Nigeria, the Commonwealth army protected the north from harrying IC troops. Heading due east, they would establish a defensive line in the Commonwealth to face the newest IC advance. Entrenched in favorable climate, the CSA would hold hard with the desert guarding them to the north. Large detachments of tanks led by rail-gun outfitted ones would stay behind the line. Any break, and a detachment of tanks and infantry would rush to stem the gap. Advanced CSA/Indian anti-air along with Dominion support would keep the skies clear. CSA artillery would focus on breaking up any skirmishing parties heading their way.

 

The two hundred and fifty thousand CPNA troops who seemingly headed for Europe reappeared to the world. Instead of going the full way, they instead had set due course for Morocco. With the majority of the CSA naval complement in the war with them, they'd carry serious weight. Heavy rail-gun frigates, advanced destroyers, submarines, and drones head out to Gibraltar, to push back any IC navy.They would stay well away from the bottleneck and it's defenses. It was unlikely since they IC navy was off fighting the Greeks and Africans, but precautions were taken. Finally the CSA stonewall siege ships could present their true worth. Moving up under heavy guard from frigates and an air/sub screen, they would get within range of the Moroccan southern coast. They had land sized rail-guns, with an enormous range and destructive capability. Using advanced survey drones, they mapped out the coastal defenses. Unleashing a full twelve hour bombardment, they would devastate the coast. Out of range and with IC navy bottled in Gibraltar, the stonewalls could methodically tear apart the coast. After the defenses are clear, a CSA beach invasion will be poised to go. Naval efforts are also made to surround the Canary Island. Shelling the defenses, special forces would be dispatched to clear out the lightly held islands.

 

On land, defensive line. On Sea, marked efforts for coastal invasion/island take over. Not marked is Commonwealth troops defending CSA line's northern flank, keeping IC forces penned and dying in desert as they try to harass a defensive army.

 

 

 

 

 

The CSA was gearing up for war, it was in the very air of the world. Africa was just a start, they knew more was to come. Everywhere Empires ran out of easy land to grab, they were being forced to confront each other. Soon it would lead to war, somewhere, it did not matter. Everyone was so tangled they'd be drawn in, then chaos would reign supreme. The CSA's first war time draft is enacted, with a quota of two million to meet. Already two million veterans were in the Confederate People's National Army (CPNA), and being doubled would make them truly effective. The State Militia was much harder to use outside of home defense, but they now reached two million as well. Able to exist through independent state funding, they were still on par with CPNA standards.

 

A large naval detachment has been building up in Panama. Augmented by C.A.N reinforcements, they truly had some effective numbers.

The Australasian Federation 

 

In the Federation 

 

Many financial institutions begin setting up their headquarters in Sydney, Australia being the safest bet currently compared to other regions in the world. Finance will soon become quite a large industry in the Federation, with control over the worlds gold supplies and a huge reserve of its own ALL NATIONS are invited to set up reserves in Sydney so that their own gold may be safe in one of the worlds safest markets.

 

Fortification of the Australasian Federations most important coastlines and the best landing points for an invading point are continued to be manned. The Federation is still concerned about possible invasions from anyone. However it doesn't look as if anyone is going to invade.

 

Space

 

The Australasian Federation over the past few years with Sydney Station complete have been spending time expanding the station, every few weeks adding new sections to it by sending it up to add onto the station, pre-designed to be expanded upon. With more expansions more dry docks are added, smaller ones, larger ones to be designed for all kinds of vessels construction.

 

The Flagship Cruisers continue their construction, being outfitted for Colonial Expansion and War. They are over half way complete with some of the ship finished, namely the bridge and other quarters. The first is named the HMS Sydney, while the other is named HMS Brisbane. (( 6 pages ))

The RAY Project continues but of course in secret, no nation in the world knows of the RAY Project. The first Prototype goes under construction in its top secret capacity. (( 11 pages ))

A new project is opened up for the Military, a new high tech Medium Mech is to be designed with the Project Designation being Lancelot. It is an attempt to create a Medium Mech used for general purposes by infantry, not quite as heavily armed or armoured as the REX but perhaps more numerous once the project completes. The purpose is to field more commanders for EMU Squadrons rather than relying on a REX to coordinate all the EMU Mechs in the field. NCO's will likely pilot these Mechs (( Mod approval ))

South American Federation

 

The South american federation continues to further its research on the Fusion Cell Assault rifles(4 more pages) in the laboratories, they in the few test runs pack a large punch with a good bit of damage done to the target making it a formidable weapon against modern rail gun technology, while the educational side of the nation continue to rise in the ranks mostly in science, and math. The Nano suits continue to prove rather useful as most of the army has now been outfitted in the strength, speed, endurance and many other things as nanites are injected at certain times when worn. The Rail gun vehicles are continued to be made at top priority as well. (5 more pages)

Meanwhile, In space the station has finally been completed and investors from all around flood the store spaces available to them while some of the sections of the space station are kept in reserved for possible nations who may wish to purchase some of it. A much much larger section of the SAF Space station now named Station Omega have been made into military area's and some of SAF's forces are moved into the space station to keep it organized and neat while many people are employed on the space station like janitors, store employee's and soon ship builders. The station is large enough to hold a sizable mall where all the store owners run their businesses and then another section holds residential rooms giving people a nice view of space or earth depending where they live. Further more, almost all of the upper parts of the space station is reserved and made to suit military needs, housing the army inside the station and dry docks are placed all along the stations, ranging from small to large dry docks all guarded and put on top clearance and security. 

The SAF government has also been reconsidering it's dealings with the C.A.N members, mainly USAC after recent events and the navy of the SAF continues to grow before stabilizing at a reasonably sizable navy before more focus goes into fortifying the smaller nation's borders and coast lines, fortifying the more defensible places while the army is further equipped with the Nano suits.

 

After recent event's, more clearance and security has been put up along the labs in the nations, even though many if not all of them are considered top secret among the government, precautions are made and set.

After seeing the vulnerability of the Caliph and his forces, the nations of Europe quickly struck out against the Islamic Caliph. For the British, this quick strike proved incredibly fruitful as the Caliphate quickly withdraws from Iberia, allowing for a rather concentrated push at Gibraltar. After two weeks of heavy fighting, the city would fall and most Islamic presence in the region would be crushed. The Italians achieve success on the mainland, defeating the Caliphate's forces in Salerno. They then push down toward Calabria, where they again are able to defeat the rather small amount of Islamic forces. Their naval presence in the region allows them to cross into Sicily, though the commander has not ordered an attack as of yet. 

In Greece, the area surrounding Thrace has been heavily militarized by the Caliphate. It only makes sense that one of the most highly contested zones on the planet be so heavily fortified, and as the Greeks make their push, they make gains. But at the pace of a snail. Each inch they take seems to be at the cost of a dozen dead Greeks, and the fortresses that dot the landscape serve to hinder the Grecian onslaught. 

The fleets of the Italians and Greeks are pinned by the Islamic navies, the Greeks are able to establish a solid naval defense at the opening of the Aegean into the Mediterranean, while the Italians would be pinned at the Tyrrhenian Sea, using the coastal areas around Sicily and the boot of Italy to supplement their defense. Otherwise, the Caliphate would have complete control of the Mediterranean sea along the North Africa/Middle Eastern Coast. The only threat to their bower was the British Navy, which only did not seem to cross through the Strait of Gibraltar as of yet.

The African Theatres

The West African Theatre

The situation in West Africa was rather one sided, especially after the brilliant tactics utilized by the NCR to force the Islamic forces, lead by General Kutaiba to retreat. When they push back down the Algerian road, they would find themselves caught by advancing NCR forces. Cut off and caught off guard, the forces would have to retreat out of Southern Algeria. The fleeing Islamic forces, who were often picked off by advancing mechanized forces of the American allies, move into the southern regions of Algeria and into Chad in an attempt to regroup and gather with the victorious forces in the East. However, their unexpected retreat opens up nearly the entire western front, and leaves Morocco and everything else in West Africa under Islamic control vulnerable to a decisive campaign in the region. Commonwealth forces would, presumably, move to make a strong defensive line in Southern Chad, ready to withstand the approaching Islamic forces. 

The East African Theatre

The combined forces of the Coalition, Ethiopian, South African, and Order of St. George could not stand up to the simply overwhelming numbers that the Caliphate and India had to offer. However, their leaders would not fools. There would be no crushing defeats, but the morale of the Africans would decline sharply, and deaths would still occur in droves. The Ethiopians would wisely retake the defensive positions in the Highlands as they did before, allowing their artillery to do the work. The rest of the Coalition forces would follow, taking up their own defensive positions. Meanwhile, more Coalition forces as well as those deployed by the Ethiopians in Somalia would turn back, moving to help supplement the defensive line in the Highlands.

Meanwhile the new Islamic naval deployment would tear apart the African naval resources deployed in the Red Sea, forcing them to move into the more open waters of the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean, which would more than likely be contested with the Indian Navy. The new Islamic ships appear effective in the Red Sea, but once brought out to the more open waters were not nearly as useful, but if they could get to a target they certainly were capable of devastating them. As a result, South Africa loses a significant portion of their naval forces and what is left has to take up positions in more vulnerable parts of the Gulf of Aden, where the Indian Navy roams.

The Greeks were advancing in Thrace, but every step was costing them the blood of a dozen soldiers; the advance slowly slowing down amidst the massively militarised complex of defences that took up miles upon miles of the defence. With the release of the new technology however, this looks set to change.

 

Heracles:

 

 

Project Heracles was the brain-child of the greatest Hellenic thinkers after witnessing advanced PhalanX1 drones in actions under the Reclaimer Corp. and the sheer devastation they witnessed at the hands of the advanced machines.  With this in mind, work immediately began on the development and production of drones to rival and surpass this, while altogether greater due to the numbers their deployment was planned at. Made of lightweight metals, they are equipped with incorporated Aegean armour, the new Peraclean laser-rifles, an in-depth communication system, advanced close combat capabilities and a Hera chip.

 

Hera:

 

Hera was the crowning glory of Greece. Where Heracles was their brain-child, Hera was their queen. The first A.I. developed by the Hellenes, in tangent with the Italians and Afrikans, it serves an entirely military purpose. First developed to administer and manage Heraclean Defence Units in action the project has since evolved to incorporate Agamemnon tanks and with the future capacity for more units.  Based in stations all over Greece, South Africa, Montenegro and Romania it commands an unprecedented control over the units. 

 

Peracles:

 

 

A rather late addition to the Hellenic repertoire of technology, the Pericles-X is a laser rifle able to bypass Starlite and pushed into mass production for both Grecian soldiers and HDU's to help in their efforts, bringing the Greek military up to a more advanced standard. Their production and deployment is rapid with rifles being pressed into the hands of Hellenic troops whenever they resupply, fall back or hit a base.

This war would not be the same as the last, where Hellenic troops fell back as soon as their advance was not instantaneous, abandoning all hope and allowing themselves to be forced back across the Aegean. This time there would either be a victory, or the blood of the Greeks would water their homeland for a decade to come. However, the implementation of the HDU is designed to change that. Mass produced in the tens of thousands,  phasing out old Hellenic troops. With the equipping of them and their living counterparts with Pericles-X rifles, the assault begins to pick up steam and surges across another section of Thrace - although falls back from the previous goal.

 

The AG-1 tanks are also incorporated into the Hera network, bringing an efficiency boost with them that helps to increase the effectiveness of shock attacks. With Hera attacking an eye in the sky, whenever a unit of these is knocked out it is detected and reported - allowing for attacks to be detected far sooner. 2,000 of the HDU's are sent over to the Afrikans to help them in their battle, controlled by a Hera station set up in South Africa.

The planned Thracian attack was ambitious, and designed with using the shock power of the latest technology to smash through the front-lines - also employing the current hold of Greek naval power on the Aegean itself. The first planned strike is an overwhelming display of force, using the HDU's to slam over the border, preceded by heavy bombing and AG-1 attacks. Aiming to take key population centres they don't have time to pacify - simply kill. A large naval force of the best troops available to the Hellenes lands in the harbour at Silivri, aiming to totally take the city. If successful, utilising urban combat tactics, they would unload the AG-1's taken with them and attempt to push out the borders of this new pocket.

 

Providing these two are successfully - if not the troops simply consolidate gains - the next attack begins. Using the troops landed and the sudden surge attack the forces attempt to slam into each other to hook up the separate areas and bring the line up to almost next to Constantinople. The second area utilises shock attacks to link up areas and relies on speed; something the Greek military forces hold close to their heart and was utilised by AG-1 and HDU's to great effect.

In the Aegean, matters were far less secure.  With the grip of the Mediterranean lost, they pulled their forces back to the Aegean. Operating in squares, the forces maintain a firm hold on the mouth of the Sea and attempt to ensure no one passes past it; their only objective maintaining the fight. With the finish of all the other technology, plans begin for an upgrade in aviation and naval capacity.

The Far Eastern Empire

 

 

The fleet in Indonesia moved further north, along the coast of Japan, leaving only the original defenses in the island chain. There they stayed again, no longer growing but instead preparing - carriers being loaded, destroyers being repaired, and drills being held. But compared to the happenings in Pearl Harbor, this would be nothing. The Japanese fleet in Hawaii is met by the Chinese, and begin to move out, steaming North-East to American borders. This fleet had a rather large role to play...

 

Pvt. James Dean Jnr. awoke to the sudden blare of alarms, followed by his peers screaming through his bunks doors. His eyes hazy, he tried to figure out what was going on. A drill at this time? They already did one last week. It was only then that the screams materialized into sentences, and announcement over broadcast stations blared. "Battlestations! Battlestations! This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill!" He sprang up, only clad in his grey briefs and NAVY sweatshirt, and began running to the nearest stairwell to the deck. The shouts and orders were getting louder, and as he pushed through soldier to soldier, slow booms and rumbles could be detected in the distance. They were under attack. Running like never before, he assumed his position at an Anti-Aircraft targeting system, and began scanning the air for planes, bombers and enemy jets, keeping one eye on the horizon. Was it just his weariness, or could he actually see the orange flashes of guns in the distance? Seconds later, he found his answer. The CDS Brad Pitt, the sister ship to James' own (the CDS Jolie), erupted in a cloud of flame, lurching sidewards as a railgun shell split right through her hull. Black smoke, invisible in the night sky, started to roll out of the back of the ship. From where he was sitting, he could make out the engine room in the back of the Pitt, fires leaping to and fro, just two hundred meters ahead of him. A second explosion rocked the destroyer, this time at the bow, just above sea level. This one was smaller, but the hole far larger, a clean puncture through the hull as if someone had stabbed the ship with a giant knife. Before long, the CDS Brad Pitt keeled and rolled, dooming its sailors to thick, oily water.

 

James didn't stare too long however, as something else caught his eye... Something snaked above the water, moving quickly, with a small - barely visible - fiery tail... "Missile!" was the last word he heard before he was blown from his seat, soaring four meters in the air before landing roughly on a hand rail, snapping his back. A Chinese carrier-sinking missile had hit the tiny destroyer, splitting it in two. This ship had been on it's way to receive retro fittings with the new microwave technology... But too little, too late. The Far Eastern navy descended on any Californian warships in the Pacific in shock and awe attacks, disappearing before striking again somewhere else.

How were they not instantly detected?

 

Californian satellites began to be destroyed left, right and center by Eastern missiles, delivered to space by Sanger-Is. Both commercial and identified military satellites are struck, attempting to blind the Californian Dominion from using its eyes in the skies. Of course, radar still detected the incoming ships, and so (i'm assuming) large naval battles begin across the American Pacific.

The largest naval presence is on course with San Francisco, which itself becomes target to long range ballistic missiles, focused on coastal defenses and turrets. Destroyers are extremely aggressive over there, hoping to secure the coastline. Sanger-1 bombers take off from Japan and Hawaii, and bombard known enemy ship positions from low earth orbit - out of range of AA. Submarines move ahead of the main fleet, before circling behind enemy destroyers if unnoticed, and sinking them using MK-WL torpedoes.

 

 

Meanwhile, 2 million troops begin moving through Caliphate lands en-route to Turkey in order to cover it from the invading Greeks. Several thousand of these are equipped with nanosuits, and, for the first time ever, the ‘Walker’ Droids shall see combat. A fleet is sent to Madagascar to stop any South African naval movements against the Red Sea.

 

Project Vision begins research, as does Project Rose. Production on naval vessels continues in Indonesia and China, as it has been for several decades.

Russia

As the expedition descends into the ruins, blasting open the doors that seal the station, they would find a pitch black system of tunnels. Clearly abandoned. As they explore, they would find signs of recent activity, though it looks like whoever was there left in a hurry. Computers within the complex are turned on, and after some light hacking the files are able to be accessed.

What they find is extraordinary.

There was a Russian exodus to the planet Ceres, including some 1,000 Slavic peoples aboard a series of colonial ships. This station was one of many that launched the mission, and included in the files are details about an experimental "World Drive" invented by the Reclaimer Corp. Extended details about the mission are unknown.
