It would just be power-gamed. Except for 'oh look cool new stuff and DIVERSITY!!!' there is no reason to implement it. This is a medieval fantasy server, leave it that way. We have several types of arrows and magics - guns are not needed.

But yeah seriously guys consider Swgr's point of firearms NOT BEING STRONGER than conventional magic/crossbow, they just exist to LOOK GOOD.

A couple of fantasy settings have firearms, Warcraft and Warhammer being examples.

On a more serious note, I have some problems with the argument that we should discount the idea of having firearms because of how they can be powergamed. We already have a ton of magic bullshit on the server that can kill someone a lot quicker than a gun, things that take several emotes to prepare and an approved MA. I think by applying a similar philosophy to guns would be a good solution. In order to rp the use of a firearm, you have to have an approved app for it or some other way to verify you can be trusted to rp it without powergaming it.

 

These items are meant to be something optional to use for rp aesthetic. I can't see myself using firearms beyond rping a gunner regiment in the Golden Crow (which would be awesome), just because the types of players who will most likely be using them play humans doesn't mean they are incapable of rping them properly.

Please, no. There's really no way to test it, because once implemented it's near impossible to remove, because how is that explained? Besides, I personally don't understand why fire-arms would be the next step in our technological pathway, or if we even should have a technological pathway. I'm not claiming that the fire-arms will ruin the server, or will be more power-gamed than other pieces, I just don't feel that they fit within the server and that's all I really have to say on the matter.
