The Dominion Protectorate Act, 1631

Issued and Confirmed by His Imperial Majesty, the Holy Emperor Peter II Sigismund, and His Highness, the High Prince Aenor Calithil. Penned by the hand of His Excellency, the Archchancellor Theodore of the House of Gray, 12th of the Sun's Smile, 1631

The assurance of a stable and serene southern periphery is of the utmost import in the Empire of Oren, and therefore for the sake of all its denizens and the prosperity of elvenkind do we once again bind and absorb the sovereign Dominion of Malin within the ascendency of the Empire of Oren. Out of the four progenitors of the races, the two who share the closest of bonds with one another are that of Malin and Horen; their descendants are duly charged to renew that bond once more as two sovereign states conjoined into one. The Dominion will act as a protectorate state under the will of the Empire.

The following terms shall be abided by and upheld without end; should either party break any term then the treaty is forthwith declared null and void:

I. The complete recognition that the former Dominion of Malin is henceforth a protectorate state under the Empire of Oren.

II. Retaining religious freedom and rights, the Dominion of Malin may praise and worship the Triumvirate of Aspects and hold unperturbed in their culture and traditions.

III. Sovereignty preserved, the Dominion of Malin shall be favored with the Holy Orenian Empire’s protection of their sovereign rights to dictate the decision of their High Prince.

IV. The agreement to draft provincial-specific laws with oversight from the High Magistrate and the Lord Great Viceroy.

V. The agreement to make no foreign agreements, pacts, alliances, or otherwise without the express agreement from both parties.

VI. The agreement to ensure the mutual protection and growth of both races of man and elf, providing for stability and relative peace throughout the realm.

VII. The agreement to hold high in regard the duty of the Lord Great Viceroy to act as the chief liaison of the Empire in the Dominion.

The following signatories hereby render this act agreeable and bind their respective nations under its even-handed terms.

IN NOMINE DEI,

HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Peter II Sigismund of the House of Horen, by the Grace of God, Holy Orenian Emperor and rightful Emperor of Aeldin, Forever August, Apostolic King of Oren, of Renatus, Salvus, Seventis, Vandoria, Savoy, Mardon, and the Westerlands, Duke of the Crownlands, Cascadia, Avar, Frederica, Blackmarsh, and Marna, Count of Johannesburg, Alamar, Frederica, Krajia, Thesmer, Thelen, Lorath, and Cantal, Baron of Darkwood and Gravelhold, Defender of the Canonist Faith, Supreme Protector of Mankind, Master of the Lions of Man

HIS HIGHNESS, Aenor Calithil, High Prince of the Dominion of Malin, the Chosen Son of Malin, Rightful Sovereign of Laureh’lin, Ker’nor and Norseth’onn, lord of the Ashen Kin and Forgotten Folk, Guardian of the Aspectist Rite

Artimec rubbed his chin. "But Aenor did this without the approval of the council and was summarily removed from power, and as I understand it, no one else in the government was in favour of such a decision. What authority does a former high prince have to do this, and what support did he have in the first place? I'm afraid until talks are done with someone who hasn't abandoned his position, we'll need to consider this document as quite illegitimate."

Laethis II shakes his head upon hearing this, lips curling into a small scowl. "Incompetence. True incompetence."

Chaol frowned, shaking her head, "Well, looks like we'll be needing to find a new High Prince.."

"Hmm.. So without a threat from a greater power the descendents form these alliances and proceed towards a path of war. Fitting for such strange creatures." idly comments the voidal horror Y'Golekraj upon hearing the news
