Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska 3326 Popular Post Share Posted June 17, 2021 REFORMATION OF THE HAENSE ROYAL ARMY TO THE BROTHERHOOD OF ST. KARL Issued on 3rd of Jula ag Piov, 378 ES by order of His Majesty Koeng Heinrik II “Ea szalmar ter mzider” “I shall not falter.” In conjunction with the other officers of the Crown, His Majesty has decreed that the armed forces of Hanseti-Ruska are to enter a state of reformation. The main aim of this reformation is to reintroduce but more importantly, revitalize the times of the past. While also seeing that the flaws of old are recognized, provided a solution, and put right. To reformation! A new sense of brotherhood shall be instilled, between all of its members; footmen and officers alike. As such, His Majesty shall brand the army anew as the Brotherhood of Saint Karl. Continuing on from the announcement, the following reformations are to be put in place, as outlined in the rest of this post. Ranks of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl Informally and amongst those in the BSK, The expected salutations of brotherhood values are to be used: Officer --> Footman = Comrade Footman --> Officer = Sir Footman --> Footman = Brother Ranks of Command: LORD MARSHAL | HAUCHMARSKYAL Salutation of The Lord Marshal | Lord Marshal, Marshal, or Sir. The Lord Marshal is the penultimate authority of the military, chief general of His Majesty’s armed forces, and in the logics of the central Brotherhood, is de facto first-in-command of all military affairs. It is therefore expected that the Marskyal organizes the majority of duties and tasks to be dispatched to lesser officers, as well as coordinating the establishment of garrisons, patrols, training exercises and other large scale operations. The Hauchmarskyal also serves on His Majesty’s Aulic Council, being held privy to the inner machinations of the Realm. CAPTAIN | OBERNIK Salutation of a Captain | Captain [Name], or Sir. Captains of the army are commissioned officers awarded their own command. Captains often hold considerable sway within His Majesty’s forces, oftentimes dictating the state of morale within the ranks. Stationed within the central command of the Brotherhood they are tasked with the directing, arming, maintenance, and training of His Majesty’s forces. The purpose of Captain is to serve as a Marshal’s right hand man, aiding in advice, be it physically combative, plotting a battle, or general infrastructure of the army. LIEUTENANT | LEYTNANT Salutation of a Lieutenant | Lieutenant [Name], or Sir. Lieutenants of the Brotherhood are those who maintain the traits or values of duty, diligence, competency and a passion to serve. They oversee and administer subordinates beneath their own rank, where in the hierarchy they typically are directing, or leading two to three sergeants of their own. This is the first officer role of the BSK, and is considered to be of esteemed value. Sergeants under the Lieutenant will pertain to a certain branch of the army being; scouts, cavalry, shock infantry, or regular infantry. One lieutenant may be charged with the maintenance of three branches, delegating one of the three branches to the sergeants underneath them. For example, a Lieutenant charged with the scouts and cavalry, may delegate the scouts to one sergeant, while another is delegated to the cavalry. Ranks of Foot: SERGEANT | SERZHANT Salutation of a Sergeant | Sergeant [Name], or Sir. The Sergeant is the toughest of the enlisted men. As a veteran of various battles and wars, they are no stranger to combat, and have earned the respect that comes with the rank. They are armed with the finest equipment, and are expected to take active leadership roles in the Brotherhood through training, patrols, and upkeep of the men. Their duties extend to and from: Recruiting new members into the BSK. Taking charge of separate branches, or squadrons in battle and leading men. Taking charge when there are no other present officers. OFFICER CADET | OFFICNA NAUIHAUNUV Salutation of an Officer Cadet | Officer Cadet [Name]. Officer Cadets are officers in training in essence. They are not permitted to charge, or give out commands, unless another officer has commanded them to do so; they may only give orders if assigned such. Otherwise, they are enlisted soldiers in training to be an officer. One can become an Officer Cadet at any point in time past the rank of Oathedman, or Oathedwoman. These are typically men, or women who are wanting to take on more of an administrative, strategic or advisory role in the BSK from the start. Any potential Officer Cadets are to be voted on by the Officer Core and Sergeants of the army, judging them based on their initial character and allegiance to Hanseti-Ruska. ARMIGER | BRUSTYA Salutation of an Armiger | Brother, or [Name]. An Armiger is the veteran of the Army, who neither seek further promotions, or are incapable of receiving such. They typically operate in conjunction with Sergeants, but bow to their authority in operations. Armigers are expected to lead from the front, take command in the absence of a Sergeant and be a role model for the men beneath him. ARMSMAN | OXTZEN Salutation of an Armsman | Brother, or [Name]. An Armsman the tried and tested soldiers of the Army. Each Armsman has proven his mettle in battle, his steel sharp and his heart true. Comprising a good quarter of the Brotherhood’s forces, it is from the vetted Armsmen that the leaders of tomorrow are selected, and the new steel of the North is tempered. OATHEDMAN | PRIVESKDYLEVAR Salutation of an Oathedman | Brother or [Name]. An Oathedman consists of the bulk of the Brotherhood; men who have passed their Initiate trials and have been deemed worthy by the Hauchmarskyal of being accepted as a fully fledged soldier of the Brotherhood. INITIATE | NAUMAAN Salutation of an Initiate | [Name]. An Initiate is a recently volunteered or conscripted soldier, untested in battle and untrained in the art of combat. These recruits are not considered soldiers yet, and will have to undergo a series of tests and trials before they can be promoted to the rank of Oathedman. CADET | NAUIHAUNUV Salutation of Cadet, [Name]. A cadet is a recently recruited soldier under the age of 14 and above the age of 8. They’re untested in battle, untrained in the art of combat and will be tutored and trained by experienced officers within the brotherhood. Cadets will be eligible to be promoted to the rank of oathedman/oathedwoman once they’ve completed their training and have reached the age of maturity. Cadets will not be permitted to engage in combat till they have reached the age of 14. In some cases a cadet will be assigned a soldier to learn under, not unlike a typical squireship. Specialised Positions: QUARTERMASTER is the man responsible for arming all of His Majesty’s soldiers as per their rank. The Quartermaster ensures that all soldiers requisitions are properly taken care of, as well as replacing broken or unusable equipment. FIELD MEDIC is a medically trained and certified soldier responsible for the treatment of his injured comrades within the line of duty. They answer directly to the physician, who manages and trains the field medics if necessary. PHYSICIAN is the officer responsible for the upkeep of soldiers’ health. In the case of disease or other injury from battle, the physician works tirelessly to ensure that the men receive the treatment they need. CHAPLAIN is a priest of the Church of the Canon who provides religious guidance for the soldiers in the brotherhood. Blessing men before battles, performing funeral rites and other religious ceremonies. STANDARD-BEARER | FAHNENBAR is entrusted with the sacred honor of bearing the Brotherhood’s flag into battle. A model soldier, patriot, and budding leader, these men claim the greatest glory of all, with the Brotherhood boasting only three standard bearers. ENGINEER oversees the field fortifications and siege weaponry used by the brotherhood. They are responsible for training soldiers on the use of cannon, ballista and trebuchet and also provide instruction on siegecraft and defensive works. When in the field, the engineer will oversee the construction of any works required to accomplish the current objectives of the BSK.
