I assume most of you already know of the situation that happened recently, resulting in three bans. Crevel, ToxicApple1 (‘Ali Renegade’), and I, Ilzgul, aka Jihnyny If you don't, here's a summary.

Crevel uncovered quite disgusting and very, very uncomfortable details about Toxicapple 1. For those that know me, I'm quite immature and always jump the gun, so after finding out about these details, I went to the LotC discord (where we had a conversation prior) and @ed them, asking them to leave LotC. This quickly escalated, with Crevel and I ‘bashing’ them with constant ‘leaking’ of the details. Quite bluntly, we were not taking their BS excuses. I am 17 this year. And just by a search of their name, Crevel and I discovered beastiality, sexualization of sites that children frequent, Youtube, Second Life (for e.g.), and not only that, but their claims that it's just ‘VTuber culture’ to sexualize their fursona, ‘succubunny’, which they planned to have publicly on Youtube, and write a book about.

Of course, running out of excuses, they started claiming crimes—real, life crimes.

The first of which was ‘doxxing’, which we disapproved of. The second was the sending of NSFW materials to a minor. Basically, they tried to make Crevel look like the unusual one here which also, was untrue. I am extremely, extremely uncomfortable with Toxicapple1 on this server. It is worse when you take into consideration that the last time they played was multiple years ago. And without even touching the server by joining (confirmed by a moderator), they straight up decided to attempt the creation of a CA, which were anthropomorphic bunnies. Which is their main point of sexualization through various media.

 

My 'vigilante' approach:

My personal ‘vigilante’ approach came from my distrust of the Mod team. However, during the whole process of my report on ToxicApple1, the Moderators being in contact with me have been extremely supportive, and I will not lie, I had actual hopes in the team. Seeing great new members helping to improve the server by protecting it from future ‘cases’

And just when I was starting to rethink my thoughts of staff. Itdontmatta shortened ToxicApple1’s ban to two weeks with no appeal.

My reasoning came true, and what I feared happened. The staff let such a person, be seen not only as a victim, but also let on this server. It is absolutely disgusting. People wonder why there are such unusual and disgusting people who get ToS banned plenty of times a month and then there are staff members, ignoring the signs and letting them walk free. I understand some of moderation take these ‘signs’ into account, but ultimately it seems it dont matta. 

 

This is utterly disappointing, @itdontmatta

I think we both understand that I dislike you for your decisions and my personal experience with you. And it is because I believe you are unfit to be an admin. I have had a good number of your team share their experiences with you, and all are of doubt. Please, take a break. Or, get yourself together. I know that I am not only speaking for myself when I say that a person such as this, is a danger to the safety of the people on the server.

- Also, a sidenote. I'd like to mention the failure of communication throughout the team. Even though there was a moderator dming me of this situation, the person who was in charge of banning me never got to me, and I had to find out through different means, hope this gets fixed.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have always discouraged players from taking matters into their own hands, because it usually ends up in them getting banned as well. Generally, what players do off the server (and as long as it stays so) does not affect their ability to play on LotC. This, of course, does not apply to safety violations, wherein we punish for that whether or not it has happened on the server. In the case that someone, like ToxicApple, is apart of these groups off the server, and maintains proper behavior within our safety guidelines, we do not punish for it. 

 

I am unsure where your distrust of the Mod team comes from. We have previously banned you for making inappropriate, sexualized comments towards event characters in the past, so we definitely do take these cases of people acting strange on the server seriously. 

 

If you had simply come to my DMs, or any other admin's, this matter could be resolved and investigated further. Yet, instead of the logical approach - you've decided to pitchfork on the forums against this person and myself. Despite that, I am going to analyze the situation, and determine with the rest of the administration whether we should reevaluate our existing safety and player conduct policies.

Respectfully itdontmatta, i have posted the whole conversation, and all the links to the mods. You had every material to already investigate, why havent you already done that? And just immediately decided to change the ban even though your staff members had different thoughts of it? To be honest, I believe I was lucky that I had gotten the information in time before the moderator could change the ban.

 

And my distrust shows through this whole thing. You banned this person for 'harrassement' against us, which you quickly changed from one month to two weeks due to them being the 'victim'.

So are we TOS banning people now for the things they do off server? You can certainly make the argument that this information was able to be found, sure, but you still had to find it. I frankly consider it disgusting that you'd conflate someone's kinks that they participate in with adults as something to do with preying on children.

TOS bans take actual evidence of wrong doing. I entirely agree that the bunny lore was suspicious given their other activities, though the actual content of the piece, whilst entirely bare bones was not sexual. I can understand why you'd then want to investigate this person and see if they were a danger to the community. This all is commendable. However, the moment that it stopped being commendable is when you posted this all over the LOTC discords and forums for actual minors to easily access and see.

The series of events ideally would have been that you:
1. Find something suspicious.

2. Investigate it and collect evidence.

3. Bring said evidence to someone on the mod team and preferably safety team who can then do more detailed investigations.

Now, if they ignore this, then you'd be justified in making a post explaining the situation without links to graphic content. If these reports truly are ignored then we have a problem. Though as it stands now you took someone's off server online presence, publicized it, made the content basically impossible not to see and are now complaining that you were told off. In no way am I saying that toxicapple is innocent in all of this, some things could have been done to remove any links to graphic media in their discord profile, but that can all be remedied by informing them that it's visible to the public etc. There was and still is no reason to plaster the content all over this platform.
