     I swear. Half this server has super epic computers. What about those of us who simply CANNOT PvP on a server with about 200 people on at prime time, and with 24 in a giant map in the morning... Well, let's just say I strongly oppose PvP. I like PvP and I'm good at it in a server with 30 people in it max, so don't get me wrong... But in crowded servers, even with min settings, PvP is stupidly impossible for me and many others on this server who don't have the computers others do. After the first hit on LOTC, I'm lagging so badly my enemy is often almost 30 blocks away from me and they're still hitting me. I'm sorry, but people tend to forget... not all of us can afford a computer with an amazing CPU, graphics card, and 8 or even 16 gigs of RAM.

You expect everything to be done in roleplay. Alright, I will ask you a few questions then.

 

Do you roleplay every time you eat a piece of bread? Or do you hold right click to do so?

 

Do you roleplay constructing buildings and other things? Or do you right click?

 

Do you roleplay taking down every single tree or farming? Or do you left/right click.

 

People need to remember that even though this is a roleplay server, it's still on MC. If you want to RP every single thing, forum roleplays exist for that very reason.

Do we not acknowledge that we have such piece of bread in our character's possession. Do we not RP we are building such constructions. Do we not RP we are cutting down such trees. Sure, we do these things MCly, but what does that provide? None. You're simply filling the IG stats and requirements that you need because of our current medium.

 

 

@Telanir Why is there a vote on this, I thought the staff had made their decision? All I'm seeing in this thread is a bunch of butthurt people who are used to RP fighting with flying lamposts and acrobatic fighting with 7 swords and a toothpick. Seeing as that's super unrealistic and verging on powergaming, I think having a realistic fight will be great. I would say no to PVP default, except that the CoreMechanics is going to allow for simple PVP fights to take on a degree of RP realism. Seems a lot better to me. I've honestly never seen a single RP fight that isn't ridiculously powergamey, and completely ruins immersion with the sheer ridiculousness of people dodging everything for an hour until one decides to light the other on fire with his mind, it's just silly. In fact, I think default RPPVP will be a lot more realistic of a role play experience than the RP fighting going on now, that lasts for hours and is just silly.

You should read the thread from start to finish, or simply skip to the end. Believe it or not, the playerbase holds an amazing amount of influence on some decisions. This is on of those. Not everyone wants PVP, they should be allowed to voice their opinions out loud.

Makes me laugh that I could PvP to some degree on a 1.3ghz CPU 4gb laptop with a 20 dollar GPU. More players on the server will not effect your "performance" to any such degree you explained.

I have a crappy laptop with 7 fps, a trackpad, and random freezing, still voting for PVP.

And if there was a separate vote, I'd vote to keep the knockout plugin, with an obligation to /damage 20 if asked. I think it's simpler and makes more sense. If you die in RP, they should have the ability to loot a body, or if knocked out, have the ability to pass you by.

 

The thing about staff is that while we did vote and had a few months to do it where pvp won, when I made that post for some reason "admins hadn't heard about it" and so it was cancelled. Personally, nothing wrong was done, I like that administration has made a poll-vote for players whereas I didn't have the depth at the time to suck it up and make one.

 

There just needs to be some more coordination/communication, and rest assured, we've already began working on it. :)

I don't hate PVP, I have fun PVPing especially in wars, I'm good at it and have the PC to use my skills, but I do enjoy role play fighting quite a bit myself, that is why I have voted to keep it default. Though I do have one issue with PVP default, I'll have to constantly wear armour again and that just makes my skin next to useless since I usually role play my armour when in RP fights because I like to show off the work my skinner has done. Other then that I won't lose any sleep if PVP is made default.

Archers will be given bonuses, you'll be able to circle around lumbering iron beasts.

I don't hate PVP, I have fun PVPing especially in wars, I'm good at it and have the PC to use my skills, but I do enjoy role play fighting quite a bit myself, that is why I have voted to keep it default. Though I do have one issue with PVP default, I'll have to constantly wear armour again and that just makes my skin next to useless since I usually role play my armour when in RP fights because I like to show off the work my skinner has done. Other then that I won't lose any sleep if PVP is made default.

 

With Pseudo-Items there is going to be an inclusion of Heraldic Armor, which will let you wear your skin. Heraldic Armor can be set by GM's as long as you give them a full set of armor which will dictate how powerful the armor on your skin is.

No. I acknowledge we have it in our roleplay. I don't roleplay every single piece of bread eaten in great detail because do I expect anyone to look at me and reply? No. Because in real life, you do not eat every fifteen seconds when you go for a mild walk. I've walked 24 miles to my mall and back in the summer heat and stopped only four times for water, never once food.

 

Could you tell me a little more about this duel function?

Essentially a friendly form of Knockout which two players can agree two via command which will have it so the losing player is merely "knocked out" instead of exploding into items.

I see, clever girl, well other then this as long as I can show of my pretty skins I'll be cool with this, still as I do enjoy my RP fighting I'll be switching more to the Gaius option as I do have fun PVPing also.

I'd tell you to go look at the Livestream, but that'd be rude.

 

Duels will be a function where there are two sides, not necessarily just two players, and when both sides have agreed to have a duel the players involved may begin pvp. When a player dies they will go invisible until the battle is over, and the last team standing dictates the victor. All players will return to full health after the ordeal is over, and people can go wherever they were going previously. Dueling will be chooseable by both sides, but all sides must agree to it.
