The Serpent-Knight’s Demise. UPON THE DAY the weather held cool as a rally gathered near the ruins of a fallen Veletz. How odd that church bells rang as the woman stood flanking Julian, the first person she'd met in Hyspia. Julian had taught her how to fight, how to be the Knight her people needed. She had left her home for a better chance away from the desolate past and into a great golden age. Meeting Julian, had been like meeting a donkey too stubborn to know what was best. She became the Knight sworn to protect Princesa Valencia, Her very first friend, a girl in which Cirilla envied, adored and looked up to. She flanked her side regularly and intended to continue that. Cirilla, a title-less girl, had met Dante Fontesar not long after meeting Julian. He had been quiet and all had been simple back then. It wasn't until they were much older that Dante and Cirilla became married, at their wedding the Sovereigns Julian and Xiomara would name Cirilla “The Serpent Knight” A title in which Cirilla used to define herself. Her five children pythons just the same she would hope. Raising them was the greatest privilege she could've asked for although she spent most of the time at work while Dante remained at home. She cherished them each just the same The Serpent-Knight moved, pulling the Sovereign Julian behind her, as a bomb launched into the fields of a peace talk. Pain erupted on the woman's figure. Cirilla was transferred to be the Sovereigns Knight after she made a mistake. She had accidentally threatened a royal without proper information. The woman was never known for being anything but brazen. It wasn't for another ten years before Cirilla and Dante would be named Baron and Baroness of Farallon. The fiery pain spread as an Orc, Azhug’Gorkil picked her and Julian up. His attempt to save the two had been met with some success. “Tell Dante I love him, Tell the children I love them” The woman whispered out towards Julian. Julian and Tomas had been her close friends for a while. The two drove her crazy and yet they all cared just the same. Often they adventured and sat through religious stories and lectures together. Tomas had died engulfed in the flames of her beautiful home. They just finished rebuilding her barony on a cliff-side not far. Dante understood her better than anyone else. He would change his entire being for it to align with her. They balanced each other out until the bitter end. It wasn't until she became a council member on the Sovereigns royal decree to aid her dear friend Valencia that she realized how the Sovereignty worked. It was something she held to her heart and wanted nothing more than to see the prosper of her nation. Cirilla lay there after a horse rode to Numendil, The woman looked around, her eyes met Julians, then towards Valencia.. Slowly her gaze to Xiomara as well “Tell them I didn't mean any harm- I love them all- Gracias for taking me in” Julian seemed to sputter something about how she wouldn't die, she would go home. The resounding noises from Xiomara and the rest of the party followed. She had wished it were true. Cirilla fell over, the life drained as the shrapnel on her face and skin burned and burned and then finally stopped. The woman grew cold as the peace talks regrouped. Death claimed the Baroness, The Serpent-knight, and the Lady Cirilla for at least the talks of peace may continue in her stead.

The Colors of a Lady The Fontesars, especially as they’ve acquired profit and most notably upon their noble appointment, have taken to a certain fashion style as they appear in the public eye. Their style is a distinct and unique blend of fabric and hue that stands out from the typical noble wear. Of the Fontesar fashion’s most identifiable characteristics are the colors, vibrant shades first introduced by Cirilla Fontesar - who had begun designing in this bright and loud style back when she first opened her boutique “Wears and Tares”. Another common characteristic of The Fontesar style includes the use of animal hides, feathers, and furs - expensive imports from around Aevos that Cirilla herself was able to acquire through her boutique. Surely Chartreuse Purple of the Sky The Blue which Sings A Cactus Flower The Threads of Orange Hats & Hair Pieces Outside of the rather bold and flashy fabrics and styles typically seen. Veils and hats have been made increasingly popular. Notably so vibrant purples and deep blues, sheer whites and gold as bright as the sun are fashioned into any outfit. Commonly seen with embroidered patterns and intricate borders, these headpieces are created to keep ones hair in place and cover one's head from being burned by the bright sun. THE STALLIONS OF THE BADLANDS 8TH OF VERONICA'S STRENGTH MONTH, 143 D.R. INTRODUCTION THE SALAZAR STABLES HISTORY begins with the early days when the Baron and Baroness Joaquin and Gabriela brought the Salazar family to life. During the reign of Ramona I known for her love of horses the family developed a stable to please the Sovereign. Within this time the ranch began to grow a couple cows, turned into a few, and then flooded the fields with cattle and horses. Most notably the Salazars have begun to host a very few specific breeds of horses. These notably are called the Salazar Stallions. THE HORSE HANDS TWO specific breeds of mundane horses are known to the badlands quite well. These breeds are crossed with the Haenseni and the Númenedain native steeds over time have become accustomed to the badlands. The capital of Hyspia hosts these stallions from across the expanded grasslands. The Bay Stallions Typically ranging 12-13 hands, the Bay stallions range in colorations of black, chestnut, brown, red, palomino, roan, cremello, and dun. These horses are specifically stockier and shorter, with large muscles that are made for pushing through the waters and navigating the harsh climates. Found in the wild these horses are the best for carriages, and for ranching due to their better than average musculature compared to their cousins made for more high speed and fast paces. [!] One of the Bay Horses from the Salazar Ranch named Gabrielle after the Late Gabriela Salazar The Azterian With a much taller frame, these horses are 14-15.2 hands, the Azertian stallions are steeds native to the badlands with hearty yet much thinner legs. These horses are known to be quick runners and can traverse much further distances than their stockier counterparts. They usually live around 25-30 years and have personalities that shine brighter than their dappled coats. Most notably these horses have black hair and bright pelts, typically either contrasting or dappled depending on their husbandry. [!] One of the Azterian Horses named Mustard after the late Tomas Salazar CARE AND SPECIALISATION THE Salazar Stallions are well treated for and taken care of. So much so they are considered one of the most pampered animals to live. These stallions are each given 14-15 hours of attention, care, and treatment every week. Consistent training, fields to graze and land to roam are attended to by the Salazar family and the Rodeo Clowns who are all dedicated to ensuring these creatures are given a care that is better than anywhere else. Stallions from this farm are often given as gifts to other noble families as payments, dowry, and loans. The Hyspian Crown also receives these majestic creatures to their personal stables as an ode to the sovereignty’s dedication and continued grace with the Viscounty. THE CATTLE CROWDS 8TH OF VERONICA'S STRENGTH MONTH, 143 D.R. INTRODUCTION THE CROWN CATTLE LARGELY the cattle and cows of the Salazar ranch range in only a few different breeds. Known for their bull fights and pig herding, the Salazar family has spent years masterfully crafting and caring for the ranch animals. The de Pelear family made a notable donation to the Salazars bulls and dairy cow collections and since have been the leading providers of the nation's food sources. “Bobo” The royal bull has since passed away and with his passing the Salazar family felt it best to dedicate this missive to his former royal standings. [!] The Royal Dairy Cows THE TORO KNOWN for the Salazar bull-fights. The Hyspian Bulls are raised to fight. The large cows are trained and tended to for the sport and performance of bullfighting. Established with Gabriela and Joaquin Salazar the bull fighting rodeos are meant to be crowd entertainers and are also used as a coming of age. Each Salazar child is expected to ride the bull successfully to claim their birthright and inheritance. Specifically the breed of bull is one that weighs over 1000 pounds and is quite aggressive. They are trained to chase a color specifically and are bred on ranches that allow the bulls to have a similarity to wild life. Bulls are used for fighting from the age of 4-6 and then retired from the ring to spend their days on the cattle farms. “The Toro Fight Baron Joaquin vs Bobo” THE MOTAGO GOATS which have been bred to eat the waste and left overs from the fancy gatherings; these goats also provide goat milk and are helpful for their creation in cheese. They are notably white with black underbellies and large horns used to ram each other when fighting over mates. These goats are used as land grazers and help to maintain the Viscounty’s estates. INTRODUCTION A TRADITIONAL MARKING EACH Salazar upon their fifteenth birthday is awarded a gift from the reigning Lord or Lady Salazar. They are expected as the noble rulers to see to each child's first saddle. At each stage of life, a Salazar can take on a new marking upon their saddle. It would be notable, an elder Salazar’s saddle might be covered in branding, markings, dyes, and worn out. The saddle is symbolic of each point in time a young man or woman goes through a new stage of life. “The Salazar Stallions” [!] A depiction of two prized Salazar Steeds, and their plethora of cattle dogs A marking might be made or bestowed when a Salazar has a child, or recovers from a grave injury. They might dye their saddle should they become married, or stain it accordingly once they are widowed. The more tattered and overtime the more decorated a saddle, the more experience and life hood one has gone through. NOTABLE EVENTS There are many events that might result in a marking, however some notable ones include the following, The Age of fifteen when a Salazar officially is able to inherit. An event in which a Salazar may earn a new title An event in which a Salazar marries out, or is married in. An event where one is married into the Salazar family. The age of 30 as it marks that a Salazar has lived past most human life expectancy. The point in which a Salazar is promoted in rank, or given a new position. Any Salazar to be added to the Sovereign’s council or advisory. Any Salazar to be given a medal from war, or a battle. When the Salazar family has been promoted each Salazar takes ownership in their help of providing for the family, they may receive a marking. At any point the head of house may deem a member of the family honorable of a new marking. The death of a family member or a dear family friend. The loss of a horse, Especially if they have died in battle or while working. The birth of a new Salazar child, or a child of a Salzar. The death of a spouse. The divorce of a spouse should it be a truly good thing a divorce must be had. THE STALLION’S SADDLE ALL Salazars are expected to uphold a prestige that most other nobles do not. They are held to a high standard and kept with the highest class of Nobility. Each Salazar to adopt their own stallion should specially mark their saddle with a notable figure, imagery, or symbol of their horse's remembrance. A horse's lifetime is much less than a human, for that reason, the Salazars honor their courageous companions. “Pomfrey the Shy” [!] Pomfrey the star losing Salazar of the Rodeo, who is a favorite of the children for his frightened demeanor AT the end of a horse's life, a strand of ribbon or leather is attached to the side of the saddle, this collection is to remember those who have been lost and be reminded of the future to come. Someone who dons a saddle full of leather stands has been through many heart breaks and known great love and care for the creatures of mankind. REINS OF LIFE HORSES, decorated and dressed to show off the wealth of a noble or royal have been done since the beginning of time. The Salazars started in the late 1900’s to attach ribbons and shiny plates to the reins of their horses, symbolic of the future and past, each small shiny piece is carved with a symbol or an icon to represent a person within their life, or a piece of information they hold relevant. “A Royal Steed’s Glory” [!] The Reins of a decorated War-Horse Examples seen by the Lady Motalina, who dons her stallion with tacks engraved with the shapes of crows, wheat, and spades. A PERSON'S BEING 8TH OF VERONICA'S STRENGTH MONTH, 143 D.R. INTRODUCTION THE SALAZAR HATS DOME-Shaped, these hats with a specially pressed rim are given to each Salazar at the age of five. The hat is made to be grown into and serves as a shield from the sun while the rancher family works on cattle roaming and horse training. The Salazar family is infamous for their fashionable and decorated hats. Started by Sovereign Julian I of Florencia, the Cow-Hat is made by an elder of the family to give to a younger child when they are officially introduced into society. THE CLOTH BANDS WRAPPED with a dyed band of cloth at the base of the hat just above the wide rim. Each hat is uniquely designed with the wearer in mind. A band can only be given by a Salazar and must be hand stitched. It is the greatest honor a Salazar can give to another. SHADE and hue do matter to an extent. A darker color band might show that someone is very intensely aligned to a certain color, while a lighter shade may trickle that there are some truths however more to be found. An example would be that someone with a very dark red is clearly someone who is a good fighter and would be likely the best candidate to protect the keeps. Whereas, someone with a light red band might be considered a strong figure in character but not as strong of a fighter, perhaps an alchemist or a wit. COLORS OF BANDS RED - The rouge coloration donned primarily upon a hat would signify someone with a true martial intent. Typically this color would be notable for someone who is more invested in fighting and brawls. This comes from its signature place held in the Rodeo Bull Rings where bulls are trained to respond with anger to the color red ORANGE - A Traditional color within the Salazar family, Orange is known to be a color of nobility, someone who is more noble and head-strong might usually be seen with the colorations primarily of Orange YELLOW - A sickly shade of yellow might reflect someone who is more isolated and keeping to themselves, while a brighter shade of yellow might reflect a calm and self assured aspect that is represented in shapes and designs not usually a predominant color upon stitching due to the limited source of yellow dye. GREEN - A fine color one that is used for more even tempered people. Green would be seen clearly for someone with a level head and known to be direct. One who dons the color is likely very highly thought of. BLUE - Indigo shades are used for those more nurturing, calm, collected and professional. Someone wearing Blue is more thoughtful and has an independence that aims to aspire the realm and its culture. PINK – One donning pink is quite optimistic and perhaps morbid. Pink is used as a shade that is colorfully representing the joy and bustle of a life, however the violent shade may also loom a certain dread in its hue. Formidable for any Salzar hat the contemporary translation is loosely within the hands of the wearer. PURPLE - The associated coloration of purple is complemented with someone more deceitful, sneaky, or generally more cut throat. Someone who has purple might mean they are respected for their intelligence and their loyalty. BLACK - Seen most amicably with people who are reserved, black is also to represent someone who is more shut off. They are usually hesitant or withdrawn. Likely quiet and only with a select few are they close. They are however notably trustable and loyal to a fault. WHITE - An angelic shade, used for outgoing people. More piety and strongly pushed towards religion they are also usually bright, someone who has many friends and companions might hold white to their hat, or someone who has a deeply focused eye to DIOS might be known to don the pristine color. CYAN - Another Salazar color represented by the brash and aggressive side of each Salazar at passing traits that follow with an explosive anger. Cyan holds ties to those with volatile tendencies, reminded by the constant flowing river and its thrashing waves, the color Cyan is symbolic of a underlying boil that is not easily uncovered GOLD - Royal in color, used to describe someone more materially driven. The color can be seen as someone who is just and rightful. Usually for someone with a firm hand and tending to be very fair. It also represents the flaunting of material items and wealth or gluttony. MEANT FOR ALL THE uniqueness of a Salazar hat is not one that stays within the family, Wards, Squires, and specially chosen friends of the family are allowed to be presented a hat. One who marries out of the noble family may allow their spouse to have a hat, however due to their name being changed must relinquish all ability to give out these sacred hats and bands. INTRODUCTION THE ELDEST SALAZAR Born first of her name, the young Lady Motalina Motanetta has made her way into the everyday life of Hyspia, spending more time within the great Vicounty of Florencia is proud to see the young girl becoming a woman. Her debut into society shall be seen with the standard Salazar Rodeo, should she succeed in her endeavours a following gathering shall be moved to the Vicounty estate where they shall host a small feast. TRADITION CONTINUED A Crowd shall watch over as the young Lady Motalina is expected to take on in the bullring. Should she earn her nobel right, the girl will be a true Salazar and expected to uphold the standard of all prior and passed Salazars. THE WINNERS FEAST With great hope the Vicounty of Florencia will be hosting a feast after the bull ring should the young Motalina survive and live up to her expectations, she will be honored in this feast for her endeavours and official coming of age.
