  1. The walls exist because if they don't; people walk into Haelun'or and wont leave until they're killed... Which they then use as justification to come back with more people and try to kill the elves a second time.

I think it's a nice way to weed out the idiots. In my honest opinion. At least most of the time.

Haelunor's been the walled city since Asulon, when the Flays and Orcs raided their whole playerbase off of the server.

  4. The nations of the lesser elves are often ill fated and misguided. The Conclave of Malin, which eradicated the Shining Princedom of Malinor was no exception to this trend of inferiority and thus, as all things do, it slowly withered and fell apart. With it died the last of the nations of the lesser elves. Disgruntled and displaced the rabble took it upon itself to elect themselves a new leader of elves. This elf to win was the Maheral of Haelun'or, Kalenz Uradir. It was then the rabble descended upon Tahn'siol and organised themselves, separate from the blessed elves but still bound by the Silver Laws which have preserved Blessed Haelun'or from the decay the lesser elven nations faced. First came the mali'ker, who founded the district Ker'lomi and then the mali'ame who founded Lin'ame. It was also during this time of great change that Delonna Aeléyèlsa retired as Medi'ir, the late Sohaer Lelien Lazul stepped down and Lucion Sullas rose once more to become Sohaer. However, it seemed history was to repeat itself and but years later he was once more replaced by Kalenz Uradir. The hideous fate of the late Maheral Lelien Lazul, however, is a tale for another time.
  5. Precisely (sorry about that <3). The point is, "Malinor" as it was isn't going to return. Neither the elves of Lin'ame (as far as I know) nor the High Elves of Haelun'or want that. What we have now is working, so we're sort of... rolling with it.
  6. I'm staring at 11+ elves online right now in Haelun'or. We just defended a dwarven attack and we're now sitting about. The proverbial elven **** is very together. I'd argue we're better off than the dwarves and orcs.
  7. High elves have equal rights for women, as long as they're high elven. Gee guys, why are your characters such terrible people, says xenophobic, racist, antagonistic and supremacist high elf.

  8. That raid didn't quite expect 15 elves.

Also, it's not our fault that the dwarves tried to give us contested land so that we could be closer to the elves.

  17. Azure Origins ((VelvetRedBullet, Deviantart)) The high elves who followed Larihei being a prime example of this. Their golden pools of magegold dust changing their form over centuries, they became colder and more calculated: They became the mali'aheral. In a similar way the mali'fenn came into existence in our world. From distant and unknown lands the first elves came to arrive in Anthos a century before the descendants ventured forth from Asulon. They were few in number, barely more than seven, and unfortunate enough to make landfall in the bitter north of the continent. It was this place that became their home in an obscure bay with an unusually high concentration of Thanium ore. For five years the elves dwelled here, unaware of the ore beneath their very feet. The elves which landed here became fishermen, for the land was unworkable. Day by day they made their way to sea where they fished for their catch. But on one unfortunate day, the winds howled and sea rocked their ship, pushing them from the bay these elves had called home. They were pushed along the coast and into a second bay where they fled from their ailing vessel into a nearby cave: By chance the home of a hot spring. Yet for these elves on this day, fate was not to be so kind. As the seven elves did descend into the hot springs to warm their aching bones the earth around them shifted. Thanium above them fell into the warm waters in such quantity the waters froze at such speed the elves could not escape. Their bodies trapped within the ice— For any mere elf this was death. But these near snow elves had been shaped by Thanium for five years... And for a century more they would be shaped. Frozen helplessly in the ice, their lives preserved only by the Thanium they had been exposed to in the past. Their characteristics shaped by the thanium they were trapped next to... Until one day... By chance... The ice shifted, the ice thawed and the elves were free... It is because of this mali'fenn can tolerate consumption of small amounts of Thannic ore and can handle relatively small amounts so long as they do not hold it for more than a few minutes at a time. Excessive exposure or consumption of more than a few grams will lead to the usual implications. ((OOC Note: No this doesn't legitimise them as a subrace, it just gives them a potential interesting origin story)).
