  1. THE TALE OF OSMUND Art depicting Osmund hearing admonitions from his people. DIE GESCHICHTE VON OSMUND | THE TALE OF OSMUND Raised by Owinrich Eadlacsson, Chieftain of the Eadlkin In the Age of Frost Transcribed by Aelfwin von Kretzen In the year of our Lord 1973 Medieval II Total War Music "The Widow" ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, HARK THESE TALES INSCRIBED ON STONE, KINSMEN. I have transcribed the Runespire of Osmund, one of the earliest known chieftains to undergo baptism and convert to the One True Faith. Formerly a mighty, prideful, and boastful chieftain, he found the Lord after committing a great sin and was granted salvation following a most divine punishment. THE TALE OF THE MARTYR Art depicting Leofred ‘The Martyr’. Long ago, when my son was but a babe and my people still praised the spirits of the forests, rivers, and sky, my hirdman and brother, Leofred, approached me after a great battle amid my feast. "Brother, brother!" he exclaimed as he entered my hall. "What? Come forth and partake of your bread!" I called back, eager to receive him. "The herder Alfgar recounted a most wondrous tale! He spoke of an ancient king, Goswin, if memory serves? How steadfast he remained in his faith even amidst defeat by his foe, Harwin." He shared the tale with me as he accepted my bread and seated himself beside me at my lengthy table. "Bah! Alfgar must be weaving foreign fables and myths. Why does this Goswin captivate you, brother? He was forsaken by his gods and met defeat," I inquired, scoffing at the account of what I would later come to know as the tale of the illustrious Godwin of Aaun. "Was it not honorable to remain loyal to his gods even in the face of defeat?" Replied Leofred with a curious expression. "I suppose..." I responded with a thoughtful hum before shifting the conversation to the spoils we had garnered from our triumph. It wasn't until a fortnight had passed that Leofred broached the topic of his tales once more. This time, during one of our hunts, he spoke to me of Horen. "Brother, have you ever heard of the chief of chiefs Hörn? A man of such magnitude that he held authority over all others? A trader came to our mead hall and spoke of him, mentioning how Hörn was bestowed power by a singular god. Have you encountered a god so mighty as to elevate a man to such heights?" I grunted in response, my focus consumed by the hunt, and in my ignorance, I harbored disdain for such tales. "If there truly exists a deity of such magnitude, why bother with any others?" I retorted mockingly. Leofred remained silent regarding this god until the arrival of summer and the resurgence of our campaign against the Joreksson clan. Following a skirmish with our enemy's warband, I was informed that my hirdmen had vanquished the most foes and seized the greatest number of steeds. "I beseeched the god of Hörn and Goswin ere the battle, and he granted me strength!" Leofred exclaimed joyously when I inquired about his newfound prowess in combat. "Brother, we must invoke this god; he shall shield us! His might surpasses that of the spirits!" he urged earnestly. "No. You shall not lead me or our brethren astray from our allegiance to the spirits. Keep your tongue still concerning this foreign deity, Leofred," I retorted with disdain, my fear of the retribution of the false spirits and gods palpable, fueled by envy and ignorance. I cautioned my brother, and he held his tongue. ! He gazed at me with apprehension, though at the time I mistook it for fear of my anger, only to realize later that it stemmed from his concern for my well-being. As days turned into months, Leofred's valor on the battlefield became legendary within our clan. Yet, with each triumph, I witnessed his inner struggle, the torment of not being able to attribute his victories to his deity. And with each pang of his heart, mine grew colder. Though I was mistaken, I persisted in my condemnation. Then came the moment when he could no longer bear the weight of my persecution. Amidst an assembly, he boldly declared that his triumphs were bestowed by the god of Hörn and Goswin, denouncing the spirits of the forest, rivers, and skies as false. He lamented my misguided convictions with sorrow in his voice. In a fit of fury, I rose from my seat and demanded of him, "Leofred, my brother! Renounce your god and embrace the spirits once more!" His response was a defiant shake of his head, unwavering in his faith. "Then face your end, brother! Renounce your god or meet death!" I demanded in return. In response to my ultimatum, he drew his seax and, with a solemn prayer on his lips, drove it into his own heart. I made a martyr of my brother, and the rebukes of my tribesmen fell upon me like thunder. "Silence!" I commanded, quelling their voices, before dismissing the assembly. I withdrew to the depths of our sacred forest, beseeching the spirits for solace, yet my soul found no rest. THE TALE OF CONVERSION Art depicting Osmund receiving a sign from God. On the night of my brother's passing, a mighty tempest descended upon my lands, wreaking havoc until I was granted mercy. This marked the beginning of God's retribution for my grievous transgression. My plains were submerged beneath floodwaters, and the ancient trees of our sacred forests were uprooted, the very shrines they guarded laid to ruin by the relentless storm. The following day, my adversaries, the Jorekssons, whom my brother had once vanquished with divine aid, triumphed over my forces on the battlefield, seizing our steeds and laying waste to our livestock. In the ensuing days, calamities befell my people, yet I remained obstinate in my defiance of God's will. Even as my tribesmen reproached me in assembly, I blasphemed against the Almighty, demanding their silence. But when the final blow of divine punishment struck, and my son fell gravely ill, I felt the fear of God grip my soul. With a heavy heart, I rode forth to the banks of the once-hallowed river, where I knelt in supplication, pleading for God's forgiveness and protection. I vowed that if He would spare my people and my son from His wrath, I would dedicate my life to His service, surrendering myself to the priesthood. As my entreaty reached its crescendo, I rose to my feet, and with me, the sun emerged from behind the clouds, the storms abated, and the trials ceased. God had bestowed upon me redemption and a divine purpose. My son and my people were spared, and together, we embraced the glory of God. He bestowed upon us priests and wise sages of the One True Faith, and at the hallowed place of my redemption, the sacred river, I underwent baptism. I took the name Owinrich, in honor of the renowned son of Goswin and nephew of Harwin. 2. THE VENERATION OF THE ANCESTORS Art depicting a Reinmaren regaling his kinsmen with tales of his ancestor. DIE VEREHRUNG DER VORFAHREN | THE VENERATION OF THE ANCESTORS Issued by Leon II, Prince in Reinmar In the year of our Lord 1973 Medieval II Total War Music "The Widow" ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, THE REINMAREN HAVE ALWAYS VENERATED AND RESPECTED THEIR ANCESTORS. All members of our tribe, the great tribe of Theoderic, remember their forefathers. We revere our ancestors and honor them in all actions. The humblest of herders pray for helping hands from their forebears during their toil, and the most diligent of farmers ask that their forefathers assist with the harvest. The most loyal of warriors demand glory and honor for their ancestors through victory or death. We, the true sons and daughters of Reinmar, know that our ancestors are watching and guiding our great tribe at every moment, through calm waters and tempests alike. In the sacred Ferdenwald, we erect spires and runestones for our ancestors to immortalize their memories and provide resting places for their spirits. In our halls, we light candles for their souls and pray for their peace within the heavens. In combat, where glory is achieved and lost on a whim, we sing songs of their deeds and hope to emulate their courage and unending strength. Our symbols are their symbols, our swords are their swords, our land is their land, and our tribe is their tribe. When an outlander is Blooded, they gain the blood of the ancestors and their descendants; thus, they join Reinmar, as it was in the past and as it is now. The Reinmaren must always revere their ancestors and protect their honors and memories. A true tribesman would fight and die to preserve the venerable ancestors and the great chief Theoderic. I, Leon, Champion of Gelimar, and Nikolaus, Champion of Theoderic, extend summons to the sons and daughters of Reinmar to join us in our war game of Capture the Banner. We shall converge in the Ferdenwald within the coming year. Those aligned with the Gelimarssons are instructed to don green war paint upon their faces, while those pledged to the Theoderikin are to bear blue war paint. Let this distinction signify our allegiance and unity as we venture forth into the fray. My kinsmen, I implore you to stand alongside the Gelimarssons and accompany me on this timeless trial of valor and glory. Together, let us attain victory against the vile Theoderikin under Nikolaus. 6. A RETURN TO TRADITION EINE RÜCKKEHR ZUR TRADITION | A RETURN TO TRADITION WARRIORS ASSEMBLY OF 1971 Issued by Alfred I, Prince in Reinmar In the year of our Lord 1971 ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, FROM THIS DAY ONWARDS WE EMULATE OUR ANCESTORS, as in the times of antiquity did Reinmaren Chieftains gather their loyal Hird and Warriors alike to debate tactics, strategy, and future endeavors amid war. They stood under the same banner, as will we in our war against Ravenswood. As our ancestors did - we will lift the same spears, shed the same blood - and take the same rewards. It is with this - that the Reinmaren Chieftains, to further cooperation among the Host of St. Johann and the Order of St. Tylos - call both organizations to a unified Warriors Assembly. With this meeting, let there be no confusion among the ranks of Reinmaren as to the goals we seek to accomplish in this conflict. Tasks will be passed out - and duties will be delegated to those dutiful Reinmaren willing to take the mantle. It is paramount that not only the Host of St. Johann, and Order of St. Tylos show - but all those blooded tribesmen mandated for mobilization, to serve the Principality. A Reinmaren tribesman thereafter found to be in breach of the [1969 SUMMONING OF SPEARS] will be put to trial beneath the Grand Kanun at the hands of the Lawspeaker. If you are a Tribesman - or a burgher who has taken arms under our Royal Banner directly in this conflict; then you are invited to partake and voice your spirit. Though for burghers - it is asked that they speak secondarily to Theoderic’s blooded kin, the Reinmaren. Alongside this - the Princes of our fellow participants, Celia'nor and Koyo-Kuni are invited to bring their own parties to view our convention. We hope that this gathering will set the forefront for a further Warriors Assembly - only then amongst the entirety of our alliance. THE REINMAREN CONVENE. For a Warriors Assembly has been called - to be held in the year 1971. WER RASTET, DER ROSTET HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, ALFRED, Prince in Reinmar and of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen and Freimark, Baron of Madvon and Freising, Lord of Sankt Johannsburg, Neuburg, Wilheburg, Erwinsburg, Freiburg, and Rozenfeld, High Chieftain of the Reinmaren
  7. A speech was made for the people of, Ravenswood Reinmar, and Celia'nor in the middle of there kingdoms. CC: Year 175 of the Second Age Cedric Johnson stands firm, his resolve unwavering. From Ravenswood to Celia'nor and Reinmar, he carries a message of truth and unity. In Ravenswood, Cedric speaks with purpose, delivering his plea for understanding. With a letter in hand, he seeks dialogue and truth. “Ah, greetings! I am Cedric Johnson, and I carry with me this trusty book and quill wherever my travels in Aveos take me. You see, I've been chronicling the events and tales of this land in what I call my 'Cedric Journal Logs.' During the “Veletz v. Coalition” war. Lies and distortions clouded the truth of that conflict, leaving me questioning why history was being twisted before my very eyes. ‘Enough,’ I said to myself. I must act to ensure that this never happens again. And thus, ‘Cedric Journal Logs’ was born—a testament to the commitment to preserving the untarnished truth of Aveos. I've journeyed far and wide, from Hoktmat to Ravensmire, from The Iron horde to the Queendom of Vikila, and so many more kingdoms and towns, seeking out firsthand accounts and perspectives of everything. Recently, I've penned letters to the leaders of Celia'nor ,Ravenswood and Reinmar, inviting them to share their side of the story. Why did war come to Aveos? What drove these decisions? I seek not just answers but clarity, a beacon of truth amid the shadows of history.” Cedric continues his journey to both, arriving in Celia'nor and Reinmar, where his voice echoes the same call for truth. His mission is clear: to uncover Aveos's untold stories and unite its people through shared history, sharing the same speech.
  8. A SECOND ENCOUNTER WITH CHIEFTAINS OF REINMAREN YORE [!] A mural depicting Theoderic summoning the Reinmaren people for Moot. As the brave men and women of Reinmar settled down for the night after a day of preparation for the coming war against the Ravenswood, a vision would come to those that had been BLOODED. You would find yourself within what looked to be a tribal camp, your trained eyes darting around for hostile natives. You would feel an air of reprieve as a Reinmaren man in full armor, dented and scratched from multiple battles stood in front of you; the shadowed eyes of the man looked towards you, masked by an iron faceplate similar to those of the officers of the Host of St. Johann. You recognize this man as Theoderic, one of the two most fabled Chieftains of Reinmaren history. Ancient Reinmaren war drums bellowed in the distance. “I called you back here to remind you of the storied legacy you are to uphold, blood of my blood!” The graveled voice of Theoderic called, he would walk up and put a gauntleted hand on your right shoulder. “On your mantle, you carry me and Gelimar’s legacy, much like the Blooded brothers and sisters before you that have passed on and returned here.” He proclaimed, gesturing with an outstretched hand to the Reinmaren that stepped out of their yurts and removed their helmets, here you would see the familiar faces of brothers, sisters, parents, or other family and friends that passed on from your world. Another man in the armor of a Chieftain, much like Theoderic, would stand at his fellow Chieftain’s flank. This one you recognized as Gelimar, who’s gauntleted hand now laid on your left shoulder. “For those who live, fight for the glory of Reinmaria. For those who will die, die with honor, o’ kin of mine.” Rang his voice within your ears, the wisdom of both Chieftains etched into the very corners of your mind. Suddenly, clouds parted and briefly showed the glory of the Fifth Sky as Saint Johann, the namesake of your Host, came down to meet with his kin. “Glory to GOD who watches the world from His throne in the Seventh Sky.” The Saint proclaimed to all within the camp, Theoderic and Gelimar stepped back to allow Johann to talk with you. The Barclay Saint walked up to you, his very presence steeled the resolve within your Blooded Reinmaren soul. “Hark these words from your Father GOD, as His Word is the Absolute Truth: The ground within Ravenswood itself cries out for salvation, this is your purpose in this campaign. Purify that accursed land in the name of GOD.” Saint Johann explained, your focus drawn to his message. “You, kin of mine, may fight for glory, but do so in the name of GOD the Father.” The Saint would walk away from you as his Barclay blue eyes looked at the gathered crowd of Reinmaren. “Honorable are the ones who die in the name of our LORD, glorious are those that fight in His Name! WER RASTET, DER ROSTET!” Yelled Saint Johann, pounding his chest plate loudly with his fist, sounding like thunder, in a Reinmaren salute to all as he began to ascend back to his place within the Seven Skies. “WER RASTET, DER ROSTET!” All that gathered yelled, including yourself, as everyone returned a Reinmaren salute to Saint Johann in unison before the clouds parted and then concealed his pious visage. Once the clouds came back together and calmed, Gelimar’s visage stood in front of you. “It is time for you to return to your brothers and sisters, o’ kin of mine.” His voice reverberated behind his helmet’s iron mask as he laid a hand on your forehead, then spoke in the ancient Reinmaren tongue before everything went black. When you opened your eyes once more, you were back home within the Reinmaren Capital of Kretzen; laying in your bed as rays of sunshine seeped through the windows of your bedchamber. It was morning and in your soul, you held a freshly steeled determination that was ready for the war to come. WER RASTET, DER ROSTET.

Under the command of a Hauptmann and Leutnant. They will be allowed to modify their armor when needed in service of their tasks but will be expected to be able to quickly restore their armor for frontline duty. DARKSPAWN INVESTIGATORS // ERMITTLER FÜR DARKSPAWN The Darkspawn hunters do exactly what is said, they hunt darkspawn under the guidance of the Reinmaren Inquisition - led primarily by a representative of the aforementioned organization. These soldiers will be supplied by the Military with the best weapons available for the expelling of darkspawn. During normal army operations. They hold no increased standing, unless said operations entails dealing with a force that may consist of Darkspawn in which case said hunters may take up a vanguard role. Grenadiers are well learned in the ways of the Alchemical, able to synthesize various potions, explosives and other such utilities that are vital for the Hosts effectiveness in battle. These soldiers do not fight in an organized company but are instead attached to the main force as specialized troops. Their commanders are teachers of alchemy rather than a second form of leadership. 10. THE FASHIONS OF THE REINMAREN Art depicting torc-wearing warriors in battle. DIE MODE DER REINMAREN | THE FASHIONS OF THE REINMAREN Issued by Leon II, Prince in Reinmar In the year of our Lord 1969 Medieval II Total War Music "The Widow" ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, TO THIS DAY, THE REINMAREN STEADFASTLY uphold the fashions of their ancestors as a way to both honor and remember with those who have since passed on to the Skies. The diverse array of attire, hairstyles, and adornments the Reinmaren faithfully maintain just as their forebears did serve as reminders of and bridges to bygone eras. HAIRSTYLES Upon becoming Reinmaren, a man is expected to style his hair in a fade to mark him a warrior, and to don a tribesman’s cloak to denote his status as a member of the tribe. He is to emulate his ancestors and reflect the appearance of his clan brothers. This tradition of fading the hair has existed since the times of Theoderic and Gelimar. Reinmaren warriors have always cut their hair in such a way before battle and the style acted as a symbol of their status as warriors. Reinmaren also often wore clips of their steed’s hair on their heads, a clip’s material and position symbolizing different things. A bronze clip signified the tribesman as belonging to the common class, whilst the silver denoted them as members of a noble clan or as the chieftain’s hirdmen or family. The clip signifying the greatest rank, crafted from gold, belonged to a chieftain and, on rare occasions, to his wife. FORMAL DRESS Cloaks are given to tribesmen upon their coming of age as a symbol of their status, often they were obligated to wear it during a chieftain’s assembly. Members of the tribe customarily wore wool or fur hats during an assembly or feast. The tribesmen, warriors, reeves, hirdmen, and chieftain each donned a unique style of headwear which served to differentiate one rank from another. DAILY ATTIRE Commonly, a Reinmaren tribesman dressed quite humbly, woolen garments and simple leather boots were a staple in any wardrobe. During the winter months, a tribesman would frequently wear his cloak and hat outdoors to protect himself from the elements. Belts were commonplace to give shape to the formless woolen garments, and were consistently used to carry a dirk and tools alike. The more affluent amongst the tribe, like the ploughman. would have finer belts made from choice pieces of leather. ARMS AND ARMOR In times of war, the Reinmaren would sport various types and styles of arms and armor. A tribesman typically only brought a helmet and his spear or seax, as he could afford little else. The reeves and hirdmen were offered much more than their kinsmen, as they were the closest men to the chieftain. The reeves served as his commanders and the hirdmen as his champions, roles that required the best protection a chieftain could afford to furnish them with. Reeves typically wore gambeson, bearing swords and shields in battle. The hirdmen, sworn protectors of a chieftain, were equipped with the best armor that could be found or provided. They often donned mail, gambesons, fine helmets and warmasks, wielding the most formidable weapons a chieftain could supply. ADORNMENT Reinmaren jewelry often served a symbolic purpose, as either a reward or a way to discern the ranks of the tribesmen. The Hirdmen and most valued warriors of a tribe were awarded torcs, near-permanent necklaces inscribed with runes and religious symbols. A torc was a sign of distinction, granted to a warrior only by a chieftain. The recipient was obliged to wear it until death, signifying his status and allegiance. The only means by which a man could be relieved of his torc was through decapitation or the deliberate breaking of the torc, an act considered a grave insult. Members of specific clans would frequently wear signet rings or brooches as symbols of their identity, distinguishing themselves from other clans. These ornaments typically showcased the symbols or runes associated with their particular clan, serving as markers of allegiance and heritage. Traditionally, earrings were only worn by the affluent women of the tribe, such the wife of a hirdman or reeve. Gold was reserved for the use of the chieftain’s wife, the designs varying but growing in complexity as the level of wealth increased. Only the most esteemed chieftains possessed the means to acquire a crown. They were typically rugged and simple. as tribes seldom had access to fine stones and metals. Despite their humble appearance, a chieftain's crown was a symbol of his wealth and power, and any Reinmaren held a deep respect and reverence for any man who adorned himself in such a symbol. 11. THE REINMAREN DUTY Art depicting an instance of Reinmaren commerce. DIE REINMAREN-PFLICHT | THE REINMAREN DUTY Issued by Leon II, Prince in Reinmar In the year of our Lord 1969 Medieval II Total War Music "The Widow" ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, THE REINMAREN HAVE ALWAYS ANSWERED TO CALLS AND POWERS HIGHER THAN THEMSELVES. From the lowly burgher to the high chief, every Reinmaren has a duty to serve. This text shall provide context to our system of hierarchy and how our ancestors fulfilled their obligations. In contemporary society, the Reinmaren hierarchy has come to include outlanders who fall under the burgher class. During the times of Theoderic and Gelimar, one would seldom find an outlander in a Reinmaren holdfast, which was typically only inhabited by a chieftain and his sworn men. A Reinmaren man accredited his successes to the gods of the forests, mountains, and rivers. He owed his loyalty to his clan and family. He was compelled to break bread with his brothers, and make sacrifices to his forefathers. THE WARRIOR The warrior made up the base of Reinmaren society. He was duty-bound to offer his spear to his chieftain’s warband during times of war, and to till the land his chieftain allowed him during times of peace. A warrior was owed land, a share of the spoils from battle, and a place at his chieftain’s assembly. What he did not eat or sacrifice would go to his chief. THE REEVE The reeve stood above the warrior and was typically the most senior member of a chief’s holding. He was expected to collect taxes on behalf of his chief, and was entrusted with ensuring that loot was shared amongst the chief’s men, from which he was entitled to the greatest number of horses. He was pledged to gather the spears of the Reinmaren during times of war and act as their commander. Reeves were owed a place at the chieftain’s table and rights to appropriate his villagers’ horses and livestock if necessary. THE HIRDMAN The hirdman was the most trusted companion of a chieftain. He was appointed to the protection of his chieftain, the master of the hird, and offered him counsel. The hirdman was sent to ensure tasks were completed according to the chief’s will, an embodiment of his hand. A chief would refer to his hirdmen as brothers, extending to them the same privileges as his own kin. While his lord lived, the warrior owed him loyalty unto death. If his lord were killed, the warrior had to avenge him or die in the attempt. When a chieftain broke bread, the first portions would be reserved for him. A hirdsman was entitled to the first pick of the spoils of war, the right to wear a torc and ornaments befitting a noble warrior, and the privilege of carrying a chieftain’s body and possessions to his funeral pyre after death. A heroic warrior brought up in the fellowship of the hird would show a reckless disregard for his life, sacrificing all for the wellbeing of chieftain and tribe. Whether he was doomed or not, courage was best, for the brave man could win glory among men, while the coward might die before his time. This is the spirit which inspired the code of the Hird. THE CHIEFTAIN The chieftain was the head of his clan. Some were bound to serve a high chief or another chief as a tributary whilst others answered to none but the gods themselves. He was expected to protect his people from harm, lead his tribe in sacrifices, and galvanize his assembly. As chief, he was compelled not only to act justly, but also to ensure that his hirdsmen, reeves, and warriors were free of corruption. His sacred duty was to defend the mountains, forests, and rivers his clan inhabited, safeguarding the lands where their ancestors rested. The chieftain enjoyed a multitude of privileges and maintained the right to command every man within his lands, for their farms were his farms, their animals were his animals, and their spears were his spears. The lord in turn had the duty of being generous to his warriors. He himself had to be a formidable warrior to draw capable men to his side, and a figure of noble and generous character to maintain those men within his service. This system of obligation and duty ensured cohesion in every clan. The Reinmaren stood as one, from tribesmen to chieftain, every member of a tribe contributed to its success. We continue these practices in a way to this day, for duty and hierarchy ensures the stability of our great tribe. THE SUCCESSION EDICT OF 1968 DAS ERBFOLGEEDIKT VON 1968 | THE SUCCESSION EDICT OF 1968 Issued by the PRINCES IN REINMAR In the year of our Lord 1968 SÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, IT IS OUR WILL AS PRINCES IN REINMAR that only those born of our blood, from this day forward, may lay claim to the Crowns of Sutica and Minitz. And so, we hereby bar the cadet lines of House Barclay spawned from Gottfried, Duke of Kanunsberg and Alice, Baroness of Brandthof from the succession of the Dual Crowns of Reinmar. Their children shall take the names von Kanunsberg and von Brandthof respectively, as will their children after them. The only ones who share this name and Barclay alike, are the founders, Alice and Gottfried both. Their names shall in turn be Alice Barclay von Brandthof, and Gottfried Barclay von Kanunsberg. WER RASTET, DER ROSTET HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, LEON, Prince in Reinmar and of Minitz, Count of Neu Brandthof, Viscount of Tucay, Baron of Boriënwald, Lord of Durres, Chieftain of the Reinmaren, Warden of the Franklands and Ferdenwald HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, ALFRED, Prince in Reinmar and of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, Count of Kretzen and Freimark, Baron of Madvon and Freising, Lord of Sankt Johannsburg, Neuburg, Wilheburg, Erwinsburg, Freiburg, and Rozenfeld, High Chieftain of the Reinmaren
  13. EINE ANFRANGE VON AELFWIN Art depicting an ancient Reinmaren holdfast Medieval II Total War Music "The Widow" Oh kinsmen of mine, I, Aelfwin von Kretzen, have translated the remains of an ancient runestone from the times of Gelimar, Theoderic, and many of our venerable ancestors. The stone is one for the declaration of land ownership. Many warriors in service to chieftains during the conflicts of old received land taken from the enemy for their deeds, the writer of this runestone I’ve translated being one of them. The rune read as follows: “ᛚᛖᛟᚾ ᚪᚾᛞ ᚪᛞᛖᛚᛗᚪᚱ, ᛋᛏᚪᚠᚪᛋᛏ ᚠᚱᛁᛋᚪᚾᛞᛋ, ᛖᛏᚌᚻᛖᛞ ᚪᛗᛒᚩᚢᚾᛞ ᚪᛘᛚᛋ ᚠᚱᛁᛋᚪᚾᛞ. ᚌᚻᛖᛞ ᚪᛗᛒᚩᚢᚠᚱᛁᛋᚪᚾᛞᛋᚻᛁᛈ, ᛏᛁᛘᛖᛚᛖ ᛋᛋ ᚪᚾᛞ ᚢᚾᛒᚱᛟᚳᛖᚾ. ᛋᛏᚪᚾᛞᛋ ᚪᛋ ᚪ ᛚᚪᛋᛏᛁᛜ ᛏᛖᛋᛏᚪᛗᛖᚾᛏ. ᛞ ᚪᛞᛖᛚᛗᚪᚱ, ᛋᛏᚪᚠᚪᛋᛏᛞ ᚪᛞᛖᛚᛗᚪᚱ. ᛋᛏᚪᚠᚪᛋᛏ.” “I, Holgrum, son of Hod, own the lands from the northern river to the holdfast of Chief Logran. The Hodssons and our ancestors will forever till and defend these lands. Men of this land shall answer to my clan. The forests are to contain shrines to the spirits, so declares High Chief Jorsk.” My brethren, now that we have our own lands and a Reinmar for the Reinmaren, we should construct runestones as we did in the past. I implore you, kinsmen, that once you take farmsteads outside of the walls of Kretzen, you keep the runes and our tradition dear and mark our territory as the chieftains of old did.
  14. Fürstliches Tagebuch An excerpt from the diary of Leon Anton Barclay Medieval II Total War Music "The Widow" While I am thrilled by our new keep and the city of Kretzen, I cannot get over my sorrow of losing Castle Kanunsberg. There I was born, and so were my children. In this new keep and its splendid gardens, I have found myself thinking of all the things I’d trade away if it meant somehow retaining my keep. Alas, my own desires matter naught when it comes to my people's and nation's prosperity. Besides, I am sure this keep will make my children and household a fine home. My wife has taken to assembling a court—the Heather Court, she calls it, after the abundance of heather flowers in our gardens. While I am one for a more fierce name, I find her choice quaint, so I will not demand any alterations. She desires to make my sister Gertrude a lady of the court. I subscribe to this vision as I could not imagine my sister in any other sort of position. I am fond of Gertrude, and I wish for her to remain close. The army has prospered in our new home within the Evergreens. I am proud of our Marshal and his management of the Host. As for the knights, I lament that they haven’t castles or halls of their own to manage yet. In time, I’m sure, we can provide them with a place of their own. I have found that Chancellor Roland is one of the most capable men in our realm. A man of humble beginnings, he has found himself as the Ernstkanzler of our nation through his service to the crowns. He is diligent and a fine Reinmaren. I am glad I have made him a geehrte, and that cousin Alfred and I have allowed him a fine home within the city. Cousin Adelmar and I have butted heads numerous times as Reinmaren brothers do. We have dueled, argued, and had animosity for each other but always come together as brothers, so we have sworn a blood oath and constructed a runestone cementing our brotherhood. I have much love for him; he is as much me as I am him. My son is quite willful, much like I was as a child. I have found that he requires discipline and punishments often. Despite these qualities, I am sure Adalfriede and I can mold him into a proper Reinmaren chieftain. My daughter Josefina is far too young for me to judge her, but Rosalyn, I have found, is quite astute for her age but meek. As she ages, my wife and I will ensure she becomes as willful as all Reinmaren should be. I pray and believe that our people shall prosper here in our new home in the Evergreens. With Alfred and I as their chieftains, our unified tribes shall have strong guides. The venerable ancestors smile upon me, I’m sure.
  15. MÄNNERBUND DES HEILIGEN JOHANNES THE HOST OF SAINT JOHANN, GUARDIANS OF REINMAR THE HYMN OF SAINT JOHANN Composed by Gottfried Barclay in the year of our lord 1967 SÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, “A Unified Reinmar” - The collective wishes of the Barclays of Reinmar and of Minitz. Formed in the days of old, the Warband of Theoderic was a stray gathering of souls with no land to call home, composed of brave, adventurous Reinmaren men to seek glory and the prosperity of their tribe. Led by the Barclay cousins Leon and Dietrich, they paved the way forwards for the County of Minitz. With time they were reformed into an organized military arm of the newly lifted Duchy and Grand Principality of Minitz and served through countless wars from Glebite War to the Adrian Rebellion of 1916 and the Aevos Coalition War. Theoderic’s Warband paved the way for what we today call and enjoy home, a unified Reinmar, the standing bastion of Reinmaren traditions and culture. The Landsers were birthed from the flames of The War of Two Emperors as bannermen of House Barclay. The Landsers would serve as auxiliary forces in the battles initially, doing irregular military tasks such as escorting, harassing and skirmishing irregularly during the war. Drawn by the esteemed Saint Tylos Barclay and Wilheim Barclay, the Landsers were drafted to be a formidable military force within battle, serving bravely in the War of Two Emperors. They would play a role in catching and executing a few enemies, and many Landsers are known to be veterans of many battles that have occured during the war. With the Landsers fight finished after the war of the two Emperors, there would be a decline in number, until the Adrian Rebellion of 1916 and the rising threat of the Mori Forces demanded their return. Their numbers swelled once more and would skirmish in and around Haense fending off the Mori and Adrian’s alike. Before continuing the fight later when they were called up to serve in the Covenant wars against the Veletzian League. To this day the Landsers march as they always have, with the Reinmaren Eagle Blazing overhead. The merger of the Warband of Theoderic, and Landsers stands as a strategic and culturally enriching initiative, consolidating the historical strengths of each entity into a unified force. By combining the battle-hardened experience of Theoderic's Warband, and the versatile skills of the Landsers, the merged organization becomes a formidable military presence. This alliance not only ensures comprehensive protection for House Barclay but also fosters unity and mutual respect among members from diverse backgrounds, thereby preserving and advancing Reinmaren and Waldenian cultural heritage. The merger symbolizes a continuation of House Barclay's historical legacy, creating a powerful and cohesive entity that is well-equipped to face the challenges of the realms and uphold the proud traditions of its predecessors. Thus, shall the brothers and sisters of Reinmar ride once more, under the banner of green and blue with an eagle at their backs, axe in hand. 16. “NUR JETZT LEBE ICH WÜRDIG,” “ONLY NOW I LIVE WORTHY,” Hymn of The Host of St. Johann Composed in the year of our Lord 1967 by Gottfried Barclay Composed by the Gottfried Barclay, in the founding years of the Principality of Reinmar and its subsequent military order, The Host of St Johann. The song sings of the tales of St Johann, and the great achievement that has now been wrought forth to the Reinmaren people. Thus are the translated lyrics of the song, sung a new by the many battle brothers and sisters of The Host of St Johann in the Waldenic tongue; Only now I live worthy, Since my sinful eye has seen The uncorrupted land and also the earth To which so much honour is given. That which I have prayed for has happened to me. I came to this place, Where St Johann walked in sanctified form, Beautiful lands, rich and glorious, Which I have seen before, You surpass them all. What miracles have happened here! That a maiden bore a child, Exalted over all the sanctified host, How could this not be a miracle? Here He was sainted, pure as He was, So that man might be pure. Then He let himself be struck here, So that we Reinmaren might be free. Otherwise, we would have been lost. Hail to you, spear, cross, and thorn! Woe to you, heathens, that this outrages you! 20. Chronicles of the Reinmaren The Siege of Fredericksburg Issued by the HAUPTMANN OF REINMAR On this 17th day of Tobias’ Bounty in the Year of our Lord 1959 To The Reinmaren People: On this day, a force of Reinmar Horsemen rode down to the steps of the fortified keep of House von Theonus with the Grand Covenant against the forces of Veletz and their allies. The action started with a devastating Covenant volley of cannon fire, trebuchet, and arcane power directed at the enemy’s own siege weaponry and their meager fortifications of dirt and stone. The Reinmaren Warband, standing five-hundred strong and led by His Serene Highness Leon Barclay and His Princely Grace Alfred Barclay, descended from the Coalition’s fort and stormed the throne room of Castle Aurelian with the rest of our holy host. Those of the green and blue held the throne and courtyard captive as scouts called out the positions of the enemy. As the throne room and courtyard was completely within Covenant control, our pious band, prayed over and assisted by the Prince-Emeritus and Cardinal of Albarosa, and the Coalition’s own cavalry drove the Horde of the Anathema into a befuddled frenzy and routed them. All but ten cowardly men were slain, those surviving ran as the bodies of their brothers and sisters-in-arms laid scattered among the rubble of the Stassionite keep and surrounding hills. After everything was said and done, victory was taken in hand with the raising of our banner and a cheer, echoed by the Reinmaren Warband before riding back home to live and celebrate another blessed day. THE UNION OF Elaina Von Berkhoven and Josef Karl Denodado Acciones, No Palabras "Though the spring flower withers and the fruit of the tree falls to the ground, my word lasts into the eve of the world, and the fruit of virtue cannot rot" (Virtue 3:2) [!] A painting of Josef Karl Denodado and Elaina Von Berkhoven A History of Companionship The seeds of the bride and groom's relationship started when they were just pen pals, writing letters to each other before the start of the eternal freeze in the kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. As time passed, Josef gained the confidence to brave the harsh chold to visit his childhood friend, Elaina, at her home in the Ducal territory of Reinmar. After years of fantastic friendship, Elaina asked josef for a courtship, having been given the blessing of the then Baron Denodado. The pair courted for 6 years, until while in the tavern of La Dorada, Elaina stood up from her chair after a nice meal and took a knee to propose to Josef and proclaim her eternal love. Though taken aback in surprise and tears of joy falling from his cheeks, Josef answered joyously with an excited "Yes!" During and after the attack on La Dorada by an unknown force of the undead, Lord Josef stayed by his love's side through it all. He cared for her with everything he had when Elaina Von Berkhoven had lost her forearm from the attack. 22. Chronicles of the Reinmaren The Fall of the Ferryman Keep Issued by the HAUPTMANN OF REINMAR On this 11th day of Sun’s Smile of 157 E.S. To The Reinmaren People and All It Concerns On this day the Forces of Reinmar and Minitz joined in the fight with Covenant against the forces of Veletz and their allies. The action started with the Covenant rallying together and the siege embankment. With the Forces of the Reinmaren, taking their places in the ranks which held the back of the great earthen embankment as the cannon’s roared to life nad began to pound away, along side the trebuchets then opened up a barrage of shot and shell against the enemies siege engines. With the Covenant siege weapons utterly obliterating the enemies without a single shot land even close to our own. The Veletzians only significant gain was the managed to send some skirmishers and were able to spike our cannonade. However the Trebuchets continued to fire till nearly the entire keep had been obliterated on the southern side. After nearly two saints hours of discipline as the Veletzians continued to harass our camp on horseback the order was finally given to sally forth out of our siege camp. After a few pushes in which the Covenant missed the mark. We finally managed to engaged the enemy after a feigned retreat. And managed to hold them at the main breech fighting them over scorched land and on the rubble of their once feared keep. After the battle raged, slowly but surely their forces within the keep began to fall and their failed flank from one of their many cowardly tunnels having to fall back. We were able to completely take the keep pushing them out, after around Ten Saints Minutes their remaining forces gave up hope and fell back leaving the keep or what was left of it firmly in the hands of the Covenant. With the Reinmaren forces bringing and forming their core of the Covenant, and taking their part in the victory. After everything was said and done victory was taken in hand and Gott’s Boons were placed on us as the Warband of Reinmaren, returned to their homes to live and celebrate another day. Saint Edmond, as my brothers go to battle over the coming years, grant them fortitude and protect them. 23. Campaign Report Action Report -The Spire Still Stands- Issued by the HAUPTMANN OF REINMAR On this 12th day of Sun’s Smile of 156 E.S. To the Reinmaren People On this day the Forces of Reinmar and Minitz aided the combined forces, if Haense, Aaun, and Bailan to capture the murders of the Aaun crown, before coming to the defense of Whitespire. Where the combined force obliterated a force from Veletz returned an uneasy peace to the lands. This was started by a rouge noble house stassion, murdered the king of Aaun in cold blood, then attempted to flee when a the coalition forces arrived and chanced them across the waters around Whitespire. Before getting word of a Veletz rally heading for Aaun, as such we took up positions inside the city, after a few moments of back and forth the coalition drove deep into the enemies line and crushed them between the gate and their steel! May the Reinmaren win many more victories. Wer Rastet, Der Rostet Saint Edmond, as my brothers go to battle over the coming days, grant them fortitude and protect them.
