“Pssst, have you seen Atlas? Oh, you have? Where is it?”

Today we, as the Lord of the Craft Staff, are happy to announce the name and release date for our upcoming new world! Many of you have asked us over the past months when the map will be released and finally, after hours of creating sketches on the oldest papers we could find (Who needs those old tomes anyway?), we were able to create this new and interesting map for our player base, called “Atlas”!

Several hundreds of hours were put in this map so far, millions of blocks were already placed down and far too many people to count were buried underneath warhead’s World-edit commands, creating one of the most unique maps we ever created with the playerbase. Atlas is currently built by several members of the Staff-Team, but also of the community, allowing builders to use all their creativity and to develop the map with us. By doing so we tried to include all of your ideas and interests in Atlas, allowing everyone to enjoy the newest addition to our server.

Yet, today we would like to step away from giving you further details on the build-up of the map and instead give you some information on how the map transition will work, if you can take items over to the new map and how the future will look like for Lord of the Craft and especially Atlas.

Like on many of previous map transitions we will hold, once again, a giant event, including the moving from our current map Axios to the new lands of Atlas. We won’t spoil the event that will take place, yet, we want to give you some basic ideas on what will happen while the transition event is going on. Upon leaving the lands of Axios a strange force will turn all of your Minas to air, we suspect one of the alchemists used a strange substance, which is causing this effect to take place. As such all of your present Minas will be gone and reset, right in time for the start of Atlas. Yet, don’t worry, you will have enough time and possibilities to earn enough money in the future.

Yet, many of you have also asked us “What will happen with my items?”, which resulted in a long debate between the different Staff-Members. After several ideas were presented we started to draft up some plugin ideas, resulting in the return of the Vault-System. The Vault-System will allow you to store items and carry them over to Atlas, using our giant eagles to transport all of those heavy chests towards your new location, else you would hurt your own back by carrying all of the heavy chests. Yet, those eagles are really picky in what items they will transport towards Atlas. Their love for any items that aren’t approved by a member of the Staff-Teams or with a high valuable is unsatisfiable, yet, it appears as if they don’t show any interest in books. As such you will be able to bring any items over to Atlas which are approved and signed by a Staff-Member or which hold no significant value. You will also be able to transport any books over to Atlas. Other items, such as diamond armor that aren’t signed by an admin or other valuable materials, such as diamonds, which aren’t approved by a Staff-Member, will be taken away by the eagles and you can’t get them back. It also appears as if those eagles are often using items with stats on them to sharpen their claws, causing any weapons and armors to lose their stats if transported over to Atlas.

With the release of Atlas we are also happy to announce that the old Nexus-Crafting and Professions will be removed, resulting in a vanilla-styled crafting system. While this new System is active you will be able to craft nearly everything your heart desires, yet, no material seems to be strong enough to form and bend diamonds into armor. This means that diamond armor can’t be crafted on Atlas, allowing us to balance War claims a lot easier and to give us the option for further Systems we may want to implement. But don’t worry! Professions might make a return later down the line with vanilla gameplay being the new center of it’s design.

While diamond armors can't be crafted anymore it also appears as if a magical force is stopping any enchanting rituals to take place on Atlas for the time being. Those who try to enchant items will find themselves being unable to do so or may even get wounded by a spark of high concentrated mana. After several tests were done by our best alchemists we also found out that alchemy isn't working at the current date. However most of our Staff-Members assume that this is only a temporary state, caused by a strange phenomena that occurs only at the beginning of a map transfer. So, don't worry, enchantments will come back at a later date!

Vault should be released on Sunday, time permitting!

As stated earlier in this post Atlas is one of our biggest projects so far, requiring from us to place a lot of time and work into the new map, plugins and other additions. Unluckily we are already at the maximum of our capabilities and have decided to allow more players and skilled builders to take part in the construction of Atlas and the surrounding land!

To gain access to Atlas you’ll need to fill out the following google form! After your application is reviewed by Warhead and the World Devs you will be contacted for an interview, If you get approved as a builder you will be able to help us design this beautiful map and to build structures you assume are needed.

To spare you from reading all of the previous text (We still appreciate if you do) we decided to summarize all the important information of this post. We hope that this will clear some of your questions and that you will look towards the release of Atlas!

  • You will lose all of your Minas during the map transfer.

  • Lore-Items and Items approved by Staff-Members can be placed in our new Vault-System and can be brought over to Atlas.

  • Items with no clear value, such as heads, wood, etc. don’t need to be signed by a Staff-Member and can be placed in the Vault without losing them.

  • All of your books can be transported to Atlas.

  • Any armors and weapons will lose their stats upon the map transfer.

  • All vault will be checked by the GMs and forbidden items will be removed from it.
