I think most people refer Aegis as amazing simply because of the memories and that nostalgic feeling. For example one of my main memories was being apart of Snowy Fields and partaking in th war against the Undead, it was so much fun and I think that's why I say Aegis is amazing.

No one needs magic, many /want/ magic as an extra thing for their character, which is not the point of magic really...

You only NEED magic, when it makes RP sense for your character to walk from Kingdom to Kingdom, in search of some kind of tome or teacher... and after like 8 years he can't find anything or anyone...

I'll be a maytr if I have to, but we have lore that is secret from the like 10 Dread Knights? And Blundermore did say we couldn't, though it doesn't say we can't in the lore I've found. And the admins decided that magic is free for everyone now. It doesn't say, "Anyone can have magic... besides those nasty Dread Knights." Hell, we have an ENDER PEARL WITH MAGIC!

It'd be powergaming to be an op suit of armor that's far from easy to kill with magic, also, you can't learn holy magic, why would a deity connect to a Dread Knight? A suit of armor who hates normal people and kills regularly? Nopnopnop.

Just because you guys didnt like vaquxine's plugin doesn't mean that ALL profession plugins are awful. This server NEEDS one and I intend to make what I think, would be beneficial and not too much of a chore to use.

You also have to remember that this is an RP server, and most of the stats are PVPish related minus the utility stats. And truly, I've never met someone that farmed, Made potions, Blacksmithed, cooked, and did everything else I can't think of. And if people wanted to badly enough, they would just max swords/archery/axes and the other 1/2/3 utility stats according to their use. Level 100 swords will not stop anyone from RPing a master swordsman, because during RP we don't PVP. I se...

I see people all the time, especially in the wilds, who are doing just that. I roam the island all the time, and I have watched people go from being blacksmiths and craft some iron armor, to farming, to becoming master architects and building. And if I get close then they are suddenly a Master Swordsman too. That's a little much isn't it? And without some form of plugin how are we going to have a steady economy for merchants and craftsmen?

dudes, this server is mideval. It's be nice if it advanced, but then reset at 6 months. after all, theres a year every 12 days.

Well Ptah, while I agree there should be lore, there are just so many wood elves at this point who made their characters into whatever they wanted, due to there being only one paragraph or two on the wiki devoted only to wood elves. Perhaps make a topic or skype chat for all of the wood elves to meet & discuss lore?

There are paragraphs, and each 'chapter' is behind a spoiler with a nice label for easy reading.

The amazing thing about creating a character is that he/she doesn't have to resemble you or be who you want yourself to be. I've created characters that have completely separate goals, some are even villains. That's what roleplaying is. Taking on a new challenge, a different perspective to life and living it. And don't worry about not having permission, that shouldn't affect your roleplay. (its to make sure you don't grief)

If you have problems with sticking to a character I suggest you make him after your own real life personality. That is usually the best way to go for starting players.

History seems to come easy for me. It is one of the reasons I believe in Reincarnation more than a heaven. Too many Deja Vu moments, where I seem to know something I have never heard before... I bet I was a Farmer!

Although I see the importance of history, I think we need to look ahead, try to learn more about everything we DON'T know about, rather then try to dig up the graves of some king.

But if history repeats itself, it is important to figure out all the kinks that we are still unsure of. My biggest fear for Humanity is our sense of... tranquility we are at with nature. We are not harmed much by what we are destroying because Mother Nature can't seem to strike a blow back at us to open our eyes. I fear evolution as I believe we might just end up like our precious LoTC. A land of many races who cannot get along. We already have Human Vs. Human. Add in our constant dispute...

Well, my character is a poor miner. So he had like 20 iron ore, and 80 coal. I tried to play off how bad he is by taking more time to do things, then I got lost for like an hour :P

The reason Dwarves are on par with Orcs is not because of sheer fighting prowess, rather it is for two other means. One, as Volutional said, they are adept siege workers, able to tone the masses with huge weaponry. And two, Orcs kill off the majority of their young. Every orc Cub is subject to a harsh early life, and they allow much of their potential forces to die. They prefer strength over numbers.
