  3. In Charitas On Charity Written on the 12th of Malin’s Welcome, 1831 “And so I have placed into your hearts the blessings of abundance: the virtuous wealth of the spirit. And as I have given to you this blessing of My Word, you shall also give unto your fellows.” (Virtue 2:5-6) There are several virtues laid out for us in the scrolls and each and every one is worthy of mention, one that has acted as a guiding principle instructing the children of GOD to abstain from the pecuniary measures of wealth and success and instead embrace the spiritual: Charity. There are innumerable acts of spiritual charity to draw inspiration from but I would like to address those of His Holiness Daniel the Writer and James II, who through years of diligent work penned an interpretation of the scrolls for public digestion, an act I believe embodies the spirit of the scripture noted above. His virtue is abundant, sustains our spirit and is never divided but always multiplied (Virtue 2:9) and in releasing the interpretation as public resource has allowed the abundance of the Lord in the hearts and minds of his children including myself, who through use of the scripture was taught to read and write. It was said by James II (1778) “I say again to each of you that you are like unto priests! Whatever virtue you expect of your priesthood, expect it of yourself, for the world watches you just as you watch us”[1]and to be the virtue we expect of the world we must consider what acts we can take in effort to more closely follow the canticles laid before us in the scrolls. It is said in the Canticle of Temperance “For I have given to you the pleasures of the world, and they shall comfort you in the theater of virtue; And you shall take them carefully, and shall not become a creature of worldly indulgence as the beasts of the earth” (Virtue 3:7-8) and so I believe it is should be seen as a labor of love to provide that which is not needed to those who are needy in His name, for we are all in need of the word of GOD and his abundance but many have their needs for shelter, food, warmth, and security met in abundance and should take them carefully as not to indulge. Jude II when addressing a query as to the church’s place in war said: “We say firstly that God is many things; God is Love, as is the motto of High Pontiff Everard V and so too is He Mercy, as He is the Most Merciful.”[2] And just as God sees fit to show us mercy with that which He has in abundance: Virtue, so too should we seek to act upon that love and in His name give unto others. In the letter mentioned prior Jude II also said “it is we ordained men who will serve in other ways” and just as ordained men shall serve so too should all men for we are like unto priests. WE should serve the Lord as His will is perfect, we should seek to follow His virtue of charity, we should do so in fidelity to Him and his children by practicing temperance and seeking with patience and diligence to live in humility, having faith that our Lord shall provide both to us and through us and casting aside that which we would indulge in to more needy mouths, hearts, and minds. God is Love and Charity, to toil tirelessly in the name of Love and Charity is to toil tirelessly in the name of God; there is no shame in humbling oneself to work in the fields, to pawn away ornate treasures to feed your brother so that he may be as blessed as you, to shed excess in the name of giving for It was God's will that he should give unto us the world, The word, the virtue, the Seven Skies, and all things good and true and there is no shame in trying to work in the name of God’s will. 4. A lone stone being, looking upon the high elven announcements left the noticeboard for a while and came back some time later, this time wielding a roofing nail, a hammer, and a book: It proceeded to nail the book to the notice board for any to claim... Along with a note that read simply: "We've been saying this from the beginning."
  5. @Werew0lf Please add Banjos to the string list so I can do it on my Musin. This is everything I've ever wanted
  6. That's a bit of a misguided thing; then I should say. Terrors are also a grade of voidal horror established in the lore so this is still a misnomer and I think a lot of confusion could be resolved by removing the name terrorlisks and replacing it with 'Voidspawn' as a happy medium to classify them separately from established horrors/terrors.
  7. While I /like/ the concept these kinds of creatures have a longstanding precedent as something called 'Voidal Horrors', which I think you should look into and introduce some concepts from. Voidalisks are interesting but these are technically minor horrors
  8. I love it, I'll be assimilating into this culture on Toast. And as a descendant of hillbillies and West Virginian frontier settlers this is an exaggeration of stereotypes which is equal parts hilarious and admirable.
  9. Tsune Hirano, Being of sound mind and body looked over the spare missive that had been brought to her by an Ishiguntai. She blinked a few times at the demands offered. "What kind of nonsensical plan is this? They've captured the sovereign of the poorest nation in Almaris and are making demands that Oren and Urguan wouldn't meet to stop a war. This is the dumbest plan I've ever seen." The woman balled up the notice and tossed it into her fire, snorting at the audacity. "Keep her."
  10. Toast emerges from his hole for the first time in a while, having kicked his addiction to Oyashiman opium through force of will and detox to discover the demands he had made for peaceful abdication had been fulfilled. With this the musin was satisfied, and returned inside to gather up his things for trading.
  11. An Open Letter to Boss Toffee, Heir of the Crumbling Keep. I am a musin, some of you may know me as Toast. My Brother Egg and I have long labored in pursuit of prosperity for our people and our ways. In recent years we have suffered greatly at the hands of descendants and though we are not fighters we are not without our defenses, not without our cleverness, not without minds capable of greater feats than we have committed to. The Alchemical arts are not beyond us as many would claim, we are not an ignorant nor ignoble people. Under your leadership Boss Toffee more musin have died than in any other point in history since Great Musin himself lead our escape from the clutches of Ratiki, your juvenile behavior and inaction have acted as a bad apple amongst the buschel and spoiled the lot. We are capable of more, we are going to be more. It is now a plea for your sensibilities, will you submit to the truth of your inefficacies as leader and step aside that a more bold and clever Musin might be elected to lead, or shall you sit upon your high horse and dawdle to postpone peaceful resolution and make violent revolution the inevitable solution? Make your decision, step up or step aside for every moment you wait our people dwindle and die and we can afford your thumb twiddling no longer. Dictated, I cannot read -Toast.

  13. An old stone construct of old gazed upon the published poems with intrigue and commented in Its booming voice: "MY WORD. THEY ARE FOCUSING ON THE ARTS. FASHION, PAINTING, POETRY, THEATRE. THE HUMANS HAVE EVOLVED. A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION."
  14. I concur with Treshure, Blah is the biggest hurdle to the orcs for new players. It's so ridiculous that using blah to speak in code isn't unviable. The orc would be much more engaging if they dropped the accent and began using the language rather than the style of writing.
  15. Toast, a 'respected' member of the Musin community gazed upon the missive with a thoughtful expression, in his hand he held the first of many boomsteel implements capable of wanton misery. "Kowabunga it is."

    The Ishiguntai

    | I s h i g u n t a i | The Stone Army Purpose: Originating from the shores of Aeldin in Oyashima the Ishiguntai are the sworn samurai guard of the Hirano Kuge as well as famed monster hunters and cursed relic collectors. These selective hunters loosely follow in the footsteps of the Marked Men that accompanied Kais Ishikawa from descendant lands to their home. The Oyashiman warriors have sworn themselves to defend descendantkind and their patrons: The Hirano clan by engaging in the study, pacification, preservation, and combat of the supernatural. The Ishiguntai do not kill mindlessly, but instead seek to act as liaisons between descendants and the unknown in the best case scenarios, even-tempered slayers of the wicked in the worst, and clever huntsmen for beasts too dangerous for untrained descendants. Oath & Code Oath I prefer death before dishonor, I shall not abandon my post No pleasure from the slaughter, I shall be merciful foremost Sworn to Hirano sons and daughters, I shall forever protect my host Humility is my virtue and my honor, I shall find no reason to boast Stone secrets poison waters, I shall keep them from the coast I aid the needy not the clotter, I shall protect both man and ghost My stone blood is thicker than water, from now until my funeral toast. Code of Conduct The Ishiguntai are expected to behave in a manner that brings honor to the House Hirano and the Stone Army itself. Respect for the laws of the nations they visit in pursuit of their contracts as well as the authority of those nations is considered paramount. The Ishiguntai are to carry themselves with level heads, and should endeavour toward a stoic and unflinchingly calm demeanour even in the face of mockery, danger, and deceit. Ishiguntai are not mindless executioners of the supernatural, they are liaisons between the eldritch and descendantkind. The reasonable should be permitted an ear as a soldier at war is often more a monster than a ghost or beast defending its own territory. Ishiguntai are not permitted to give away information about the inner workings of the order, the contents of its archives, or the trials required of the initiates. Ranks Meishu: The commander of the Ishiguntai as a whole is known as the ‘Meishu’ Which translates roughly to ‘leader’ in Oyashiman. Typically this role is taken by a member of the Hirano clan. The Meishu acts as the figurehead, diplomat, pay negotiator, logistical head, and organizer of the Ishiguntai. Taicho: Captains of the Ishiguntai are known as “Taichou”, they are responsible for leading squads of Senshi on more dangerous hunts and excursions as well as for commissioning gear for and outfitting Senshi with any practical knowledge required to face their quarries. Squads composed entirely of taichou are often sent on more dangerous assignments than their Senshi subordinates. Senshi: The first oathed rank of the Ishiguntai, Senshi are warriors who have passed the trials required to become Ishiguntai and are allowed access to the libraries, reliquary, and armory of the order. They undertake freelance or assigned hunts on behalf of the Stone Army and are allowed free reign of the grounds and audience with the Meishu regarding their concerns. Initiate: Initiates are the hopeful applicants of the Ishiguntai who undertake trials to prove their worth. Unoathed and untrusted until their trials are undertaken, initiates are not permitted free reign of the Ishiguntai grounds, free access to the library and reliquary, nor audience with the Meishu. Traditions The Initiate Trials: Initiates of the Ishiguntai are expected to undertake five trials leading up to their oath which are revealed and to be prepared for one after the other. While the Stone Army keeps the nature of these trials clandestine the names of each trial are known to the public as follows: The Trial of Poems, The Trial of Waste, The Trial of Ordeals, The Trial of Blossoms, and the Trial of Stone ((Credit to Gamma_Byte for this art)) The Oathtaking: Ishiguntai initiates who pass their trials are brought before the meishu and expected to recite the poetic oath to declare their lifelong loyalty to the Stone Army and the Hirano Kuge. While speaking the oath they will be handed their first issued weapon as an Ishiguntai, a tanto which they will use to carve a pattern into their skin while recounting the oath before their lord forever scarring and branding them as a member of the Stone Army. Uniform: Application: IC Information Name: Race: Age: Relevant Experience: Why do you wish to become Ishiguntai?: OOC Information: Discord: Timezone: ((Big ups to Kalehart for the post format.))
