  1. 10 years in a few months, haven't regretted a single part of being on here.
  2. deific aligned dragaar will be the bane of my existence
  3. Yes, Benda is shelved with the removal of House Chivay and his apparent strange mannerisms that are not attributed to some ibleesian curse
  4. But in a realistic approach. I'll explain why the stance on Aeldin is so nonchalant. There's a certain point where the intervention of origins and Aeldin becomes absolutely null, with Aeldin having an absolutely massive impact of human culture and history with how it has been portrayed. This also extends to the birthplace of Frost Witches and Strigae, which are both elements that utilise this lore to explain their origins and also help create a continent outside of the eternal 'ire' of aengudaemonic influence and such. What Aeldin represents to me in a world building sense, is a justification to allow for us to build things that are outside of the sphere of influence of the "main descendant races". The idea that everything on the universe ever happening on the small continent we inhabit is something I despise and it also allows for the nifty idea of having races not exposed to every chaotic thing that happens in this continent. Aeldin itself is a project I genuinely love and believe is fantastic for LotC, it is something that I wish to inevitably rewrite into the world of LotC to make sense, be used as a platform for world-building and contribute to the server as a whole. Solely not used as justification for spontaneous rebellions, but the potential to have these long dynasties outcasted from Aeldin, for races that went away from the Four Brothers originally and established their own places. Aeldin is the first and main core concept of world building, it is just a shame it has been reverted into a noble e-girl generator to try and create clout within OOC connections of discord. The narrative of the Aeldenic Empire being insanely insular, isolationist and completely oblivious to the world outside their continent has been thrashed for basically a spawned in pre-revolution France so wigs and flintlocks can come from it. When it has the entire Oyashimian-Cathant conflicts, some cheeky Marked Men lore no-one cares about, branches of ancient houses that have been wiped out or repurposed (like the Chivays and 'pretender horens), The birthplace of the Frost Witches (Sklojder), the potential for smuggling rings and grounded occult phenomenon built with new types of dwarves, enslaved orcs and elven rebels (very akin to the witcher scoia'tel). Having the potential for the 'Heartland' Empire to take a Byzantine Style Royal Guard and having alluding parts of that in peoples roleplay, either being refugees or those smuggled to the mainlands of the descendants to escape prosecution or find a new life. I think the potential is absolutely limitless. I just wish it would not be used as a reason to spawn another "Horen" [when the bloodline has been dead since Dokahn switched the last Horen with some random monk baby in a monastery post exodus] PS. As much as I love to shit on current Oren, their standards, religion etc. Aeldin is probably the one thing I cannot bash them for at its core. It's something I have witnessed and seen its true potential.
  5. Might just personally canonise Aeldin probably to spite you tbf
  6. I'm just going to mention here that, that if you are an older player you know exactly why this isn't a thing
  7. As a heads up, this lore is going to be denied for formatting and it's intent. Which I will explain after I really explore some of the issues I have with this post. Firstly, shamanism did not 'disappear' because of Flam's Lore Games, it instead gave it the opportunity to reinvigorate it and was essentially ignored by every single teacher that was done within the Orcish subtype. Elementalism had issues that were exacerbated by bad faith and implementation of people using thematic spells such as terraforming to attempt to try and sink entire cities through loopholes. It really showed that certain elements of shamanism were embraced while others were barely considered roleplay and used as a simple buff for those that used it. Shamanism is a magic I genuinely wish to see succeed, contrary to popular belief. The subtypes that are currently there are still present in the community, even though its moved outside of the "Orcish Influence" It's still there. I simply referred you to Squak because they told you as to why, there was absolutely no reason to contact me and you know that. We know that Elementalism is currently in a state where we do not think it will be sustained, it would be a waste of our time to review it and watch it immediately fail again and then disappear again. The Orcish playerbase is on such a teetering state of booming activity and complete inactivity every week that nothing is stable or sustained enough, magic will not save such an idea and neither will you spearheading it. Now, to the Telanir post. Using a post that's a few years shy of a decade old to try and reflect how the server is currently is a really funny thing you're trying to do. This itself is such a backwards viewpoint that does not work for now. We as a server have realised that PLAYERS are the most important actors in creating roleplay and sustaining their cultures. We have evolved beyond the idea of having to handhold playerbases, where they should have the opportunity to thrive and exist in their own capacity and contribute to the world instead of relying on being spoonfed. Orcs have the absolute current potential to try and explode with activity and regain their roots. They have the most cultural aspects of Shamanism still in lore, yet it's ignored and basically neglected by those communities. Why is this? I do not know, but I also know that if we forcefully reinjected it into the orcish playerbase currently. There's really three options that would happen, which would be below. 1: They leave the orcs when they can't sustain their roleplay, taking shamanism to another place. 2: Are kicked out of the Orcish playerbase and 'whitewashed'. 3: They shelf their character and don't continue. I want to see Orcs grow again, but I believe it is counter-productive to overload shamanism when it needs to go back to its basics. I want to see the roleplay orientated sub-genres thrive and contribute to roleplay (even with those one-on-one interactions. They are the ones I believe are the most meaningful). Activity standards for lore are extremely low and you'd be surprised how low of a threshold is necessary. If we get more pings about flintlocks being used in Oren than there is lines of RP relating to such a magic, that is when we enforce. Now Wolfkite, what was your intent with this post. Some weird flame to try and post me as a pillar of the community to unravel, or for maybe for Telanir to try and shoot me in the back of the head for not following his 2013 ideals. Maybe some of this? You should know what my own opinion of you is, being one of the most pathological liars I have ever seen on LotC. Claiming that you could use the gravity spirit to crush someone completely, to being Telanir's right hand man and also being able to stay blind when DPM's IP showed up on Excitedly's account when the battle happened, even though you plead your own innocence in enabling such an action. You got a response from this, and surely the one you wanted. Shamans can build upon the basics they have before overloading it with another five different sub-types. I also dislike you using a disenfranchised playerbase as a means to try and shit on me and my management. It's done not with the intent to try and help the shaman playerbase, it's to stir the pot. It's your move, @L0rdLawyer

  9. A simple carriage driver screams to the skies in anger. His recent ability to transport people to and from places has been absolutely annihilated by the existence of the strange anomalies of soulstone. Though, his almost poverty has always been saved by the magical produce of the Wilven Cloud Temple. They have provided for him where others haven't. All hail the monks of produce, all hail the temple of the clouds.
  10. I'll accept this if Bagley is blacklisted from playing an azdrazi btw
  11. @Urahra I want to say this as a player observing and not formally as the administration. But I believe that this treatment would not be extended to a newer player, those that have no clue of the systems or the pre-established precedents surrounding and such. I disagree with the outburst shown on that post, but I understand why people have done this. It's almost a six-month argument with @Hanrahan at the spearhead. It's a repeated thing where people have demonstrated their dislike, and the people's concerns are bashed with toxicity as the same goes with those supporting it. It's a mismatch horrid situation, but I think overall I hope it puts to rest this entire debacle for at least as long as I'm Story Admin. It is very much a slap in the face to the playerbase that has witnessed this and believe their own roleplay is being squashed by a playerbase that they believe does not interact with the server beyond itself. I understand completely the heated argument, but it charges from the communities that represent it and their appeared intent. I do not wish or endorse that if this was a new person, but I also believe the server would definitely not react in such a way if it was a bystander who made a post that didn't follow formats and such.

  13. This lore has been denied. Breaches of techlock within the rules. Such a verdict establishing the feasibility of guns was made at least six months ago and will be repeated every time these are submitted. The direction of the server wanted by the administration team will ensure that guns will not be added to this platform or even considered. No matter the arguments, there'll be people overhead denying as such and it's as simple as stop. We've had attempts with lore that would make sense, with the lore of both Archipelago and then Phil's own attempts at such. Both attempts were denied, and so will this one, and all future ones. If I can eat my words in a few years of they ever get implemented, that would be fantastic. But for the moment, there is no hope to adjust or budge on such an issue.
  14. We never saw eye to eye, but I can't deny that you're a fantastic coder. Good luck in whatever ventures life takes you.
  15. A culmination of having an undertuned magic, a victim-complex centric community, general lethargy and the inability to act against anything in the community without jumping through hoops are essentially why necromancy has fell into the permanent abyss of inactivity.
  16. It's simply a culture post. I can appreciate this
  17. thulean gets insta-denied btw
  18. Fantastic post, there's alot more benefit to the collective story that this server offers than the one person protagonist run. Your story matters to those that interact with you and the characters you impact with your characters. There are chances for impactful characters, but they must be truly leaders and "heroes" that are earned through gradual RP and progression. It's something that's very hard to explain to people who are on this server, but you've captured the first step to embracing this server. Everyone matters equally, no-one is special and that's the beauty of this multi-threaded narrative experience.
  19. Hey dude, I am going to just write on this post to let you know how this normally works. Most of the time, teachers will not use or bother with the forums when searching for new students. Either searching in game or using self teach altars aswell for voidal magic is a way to get yourself into that niche. Good luck on your journey, hope you'll have good luck.
