  1. Maybe I'm wrong but who thought the Fringe was tons of fun with freebuild and being 95% playermade?

      The PvP was the fun.

Fringe was fun because our fun wasn't restricted like it is these days.

Ironically, it was the hourly raids in the Fringe that started the snow ball that lead to the current ruleset

  2. Very decent Halfling, very respectable
  3. "Sqwok the parrit" Pal yells from his burrow
  4. Fixing the event good Shitting on the ET lead bad lets try to play nice, I guess
  5. Oh **** off, seriously. The original event had a lot of issues that I can point out, that we all can, but calling him incompetent is just rude and insulting. A lot of backdoor shady **** happened, and a lot of stuff got mixed up in complications beyond a lot of peoples knowledge. You just waving your hands and going 'Ha well he sucks and nothing else is an issue but that' is both childish and just down ignorant of the issues that are at hand facing the server. Listen, to anyone reading this post, know that this **** is just a hot mess, but he really had some genuinely good ideas. They weren't perfect, but this event line isn't what he set out to make, and it's a shame a lot of stuff is so mixed up and confused so that it looks bad. Don't take what some no-body on the forums says, because I honestly think if you talked to him in person (or on TS/Discord) you'd understand the larger issues at hand, and you'd not just blatantly pin this bullshit on him.
  6. No one expects you to pay anything for any of these perks. You donate because you want to give a donation out of charity to the server. You aren't buying anything, it's a donation. Anything the staff gives you for these donations is pretty much out of kindness. They could, in all rights, give all of us nothing if they wanted.
  7. By Thor's beard I hope we've learned from the mistakes of this map. I have faith you guys will do good, but... idk, these screenshots don't give me hope. I hope it's functional and enjoyable to explore, and not just a pretty map.
  8. Hello LoTC, I'm Kaiser. I've played on this server since 2012, and honestly I've been here too long. But I love this server. Now, I want to show you something. This is a video which was made to highlight Branborough, or 'The Vale' as it was sometimes called. It was the Halfling village founded by Petyr in Asulon. I love the Halflings, honestly, they're my pride and joy. When I joined this server I was horrible at RP (Still am) but the Halflings sort of taught me how to have fun, and make fun. SuperSodaPops was a great friend, and so was a great many more people. I'd probably not still be here if not for them. I have a lot of nostalgia and memories in this little town... Now here's my request. Asulon was corrupted, the map file lost, and thus, the town. However, I've heard rumors that there's still a map around, but the legitimacy of that is unknown. What I do know is that there is, somewhere, an exported section of the map that holds the Vale. I've never been able to contact the person who had it, but if there's one, there could be more. If there's any chance that this village has been copied into a file, I'd kill to have it. If anyone has any info on it, please post it here, or message me. I'd be very thankful, and I'd be in your debt.
  9. "To whom it may concern, I too have seen the obelisks spread through the lands, and it's sparked my own curiosity. Perhaps, though unlikely, the Kha are correct, and they are some old chains for an evil held beneath the lands, but I have my doubts. Axios had been occupied long before we modern-folk landed here, and all the races and people from eons ago have since left, or died. Obelisks like this may be vestigial parts of old religions, or kingdoms - built in the days when their use was apparent, but have since just wasted away in time. Any host of answers could be brought up to their purpose, but what is currently apparent is that they've done nothing since we've found them to warrant any real answer. We have no reason to fear them, or create conspiracies about what they do, when we have no evidence of such. No offense to the Kha-folk, but one testimony from a priestess isn't going to convince me that the world is ending, and that we should clutch our loved ones in fear of the obelisks and whatever they hold/do. -R. Bauer"
  10. These are just my opinions, but I hope they are somewhat taken seriously. 1. Nexus. Just a horrible clunky system which was poorly made. Has no real value to the server other than turning LoTC into an MMO, and thus demanding people to stay on the server longer. I'm going to guess that's to keep LoTC active, but I'd rather have a server with 75 RPers rather than 30 Rpers and 270 grinders. 2. Lore mostly sucks. Doesn't take a genius to explain why LoTC has bad lore, the LT is horrible. Nothing good about that wretched team, half can't even write to impress their high school poetry teacher and the other half are probably lobotomites. The few cases of interesting lore that does go through is usually safe guarded by the creators best they can, but eventually some cretin on the lore team will **** it up, either because they're woefully ignorant of the original ideas or because they're power hungry bullies. I'd recommend just burning that entire team to the ground and starting over. 3. No communications between staff or playerbase. This goes both ways. Staff sometimes does random **** and explains nothing, which easily pisses off a lot of players. On the flip side, if the players would communicate their intentions or ideas on certain things *cough* I wonder what *cough* we'd all get along much better. 4. Map. I know this is being fixed, but for fucks sake this map is horrible. Horribly made, no perms anywhere. it's stupid. Players want to build a house in the woods, tell them they can't and they'll hate you. Who cares if it's ugly, Aegis was a lot of ugly, but it was also fun... I feel like the argument of 'Cosmetic appeal vs Practicality' is the same as people who said 'Zelda: Windwaker looks bad and thus is a bad game'. Something can look like ass but be practical and fun, and vice versa. Make a beautiful city, yeah, but it could suck ass in RPing.
  11. Damn, some of these places almost never had 5+ people in them, that's worrying. Wonder if it's best to become more strict on nations not being active enough, and just give some the lesser nations the axe. Consolidate the playerbase into a handful of places? Look at Mardons Cap. Majority of it is blacked out and then randomly it jumps to like 15+ (or 27) out of nowhere. I don't mean to single Mardon out, but is that 'active'? Nations like that seem like dead states.
  12. OKAY PLEASE @WRYNN IT'S GREAT I LOVE IT BUT YA GOTTA REMOVE THAT ONE RIVER THAT CONNECTS FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER, THAT'S NOT HOW RIVERS WORK. PLEASE.
  13. Have you been freed yet?

  14. Wow, the one on the right with the bear is incredibly pretty. I'd love to use it for my character's house. On a side note, how'd you make these? They're all pretty great.
  15. "You tell us to never blindly accept rhetoric while blindly spewing rhetoric? Also, how are they to be release, if their bodies were sent to you, dead? I do not understand what black magic this is...." Rupert scratches his head.
  16. still no one looking at my appeal REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I made my Appeal same time as you belive they said it takes up to 3 days, and also believe they said the max days until they look is 6 so it's just to be patient and wait.

  17. Look at this GMs, please D:

  18. My comment wasn't a jab at the Ascended or anything, just open idle thought. OOC often seeps into RP far too often, so it wasn't a far fetched idea. Sorry about that, friend.

    1. Blundermore

      Blundermore

We take a very harsh view on our members harassing, bullying, or oocly circlejerking someone beyond the realms of it being "just a joke". Be it EX. Ascended or general players. If you happen to ever find one of our number doing so please do screenshot it and send it to me or jallentime or JCquiinn. We'd be glad to inspect what you have to show.

  19. Sadly, lore you write isn't your lore, not really. Once the LMs accept it, it's theirs. They can do what they want with it. I am not supporting or condemning that, but that's the situation. If the staff want to change lore, even if it's really for the worse, which it usually is since many LMs lack the nuance understanding of a lot of lore, then they will. That being said, as to the actual lore and not the drama; Why does it feel like magic never has large draw backs? Insanity seems to sink in, yeah, but I'd hardly imagine many really follow that. If they do, it's insanity done wrong. 'I'm insane! I'll stab you! I'll do something whacky and weeeeird!' and not something so somber like dementia or something equally depressing. But I guess it's not fun if your warrior fi' mage dies at 62 because he became comatose in bed like a vegetable and starved to death, alone and unloved. Nah, my fi' mage? Went insane, went out and stabbed 4 people and started a cult to Iblees.
  20. A paper is hung among the others "Another to be disconnected, it seems. Each day there's something on these news boards about the Ascended, though I suppose when it rains, it pours. The Ascended order is pure at heart to begin, I'd hope, and I may concede the philosophical and moral question of purging a being who may wish to be removed from their harrowing state themselves is complicated, it changes little when they do nothing though, or work against the interests of the righteous. My homeland is still filled with necrotics, a city of the dead, a haven for the evil, and the Ascended barely give my people a glance. And now talk of Ascended breeding with monsters from the abyss? A world gone mad, a world I feel I do not belong. I propose two thoughts for you, a friendly suggestion, and a question, Benjamin Kalehart, if you come across this paper. Firstly, I suggest you hide. You may advocate nonviolence and understanding against your kin, but I'd place a hefty bet they'd not advocate, or act upon, the same if they were to get their hands on you. Secondly, dwell on this thought; What use is a guard force, magically gifted by a deity or otherwise, if they do not guard? Or worse, if they themselves are perpetuating the crimes? -R. Bauer." ((On an OOC note, it seems to not bode well that anyone making roleplay posts about a specific group has to firstly explain that it is all 'RP' and thus put off a witch hunt. I don't know the community for the Ascended OOCly but it makes me wonder...))
