  1. "Care to share the lies? I'm sure we can clarify them. Taking a boy of eight to a meeting you're intending on refusing the terms to an amnesty for is questionable in its own right, but to draw first... They might as well have killed him themselves, yet they still use his death as an excuse to war us. And let's not forget the multitude of attacks made on the 19 and 12 year old princesses by Hansetic Assassins. A 12 year old, being shot at and having thanhium thrown at her in a church."
  2. Rotger never sent his one copy of an edited letter, though he somehow receives a response nonetheless. He scribbles on the backside of the response 'the princess was not harmed but her friend, a noblelady, had her head crushed. I've seen the scar. Secondly the group that came 'armed' for the release was after the murder of one of our solitary nobles who was sent to secure release, a member of the privy council at the time too. Also, congratulations on not even being able to murder a man correctly; I haven't met Edward since his 'departure', nor was I informed of his survival. However I greatly suspect he survived through no 'mercy' on the Ruthern part. On top of that, I personally recall the Brawms attempting to defenestrate a noblelady of Courland in our own palace. And it's awfully divisive taking a child to a meeting in which you plan on drawing arms. And need I mention how I inhaled thanhium one Galahad Doesn'tMatter threw at a praying infant princess.'
  3. Rotger sits down with a watery red-inked quill to help him focus his thoughts... "Courlandic incursions into Hanseti-Ruska being Gared Errmark. So when he raids a nation that's openly being hostile towards us, that's reprehensible but when we take issue in him fighting against our allies the Dwed and chastise him for thus, that's also reprehensible. Bit of a contradiction, but hey, let's move on..." he shrugs as he lines the two sections. "By no means am I agreeing to such actions, but if I remember correctly, a noblelady, one not able to play a part in the war, had her head caved in by Haense, along with the execution of one of the nobles we sent to diplomatically secure the kidnapped Princess' release. So... Contradiction again..?" "About Mardon..." he taps the feather end of his quill against his lip, "first off, we were called to arms by an ally. Secondly, we disengaged from the war before its conclusion, allowing Mardon to remain, but ohh grr, we're such bloodthirsty conquerors, right?" "Finally the Ruthern incident wherein the Rutherns murdered a noble and occupied a county. The return of the county and a meagre fine seemed a fair response from the Arch-Duke, the response the Crown backed. Aaaand Count Joren, that was.. when they drew arms during a court session and quickly found themselves overwhelmed. Draws parallels to WhoCares Vanir who died outside Riga after failing to raid it." "Haven't I been over this? A fine was offered that they denied. Seems someone's been so inactive in Courlandic matters that they've missed half a decade of affairs."
  4. "Is it conquest if they're a vassal? I mean, Courland already own the land... So... "
  5. "Let's get back at Courland for keeping slaves by enslaving a Courlander. "They don't keep slaves." "Let's get back at the Snow Elves by kidnapping a snow elf!" "They don't have slaves." "Let's take one anyway, brand it so it always knows it was a slave and sell it for a profit." "Why are we doing this?" "BECAUSE WE HATE SLAVERY, GRR!" Rotger imagines the conversation going on between the 'smarter' of the Red Sun members after literally walking into the camp and rescuing the slave by carrying them out on his shoulder.
  6. ((Well written, even if you disagree with it. That I don't, ave1!!1#!
  7. Rotger wonders why he wasn't informed of his dismissal prior to the official public writ. He doesn't mind too much though; it has usefully synchronised with personal matters and when they needed to be attended to.
  8. Rotger sneaks away with one or two from the delegation sent bearing such boons of Haria. "Mor datesh, needsh mor datesh," he declares, mouth still full.
  9. "No," he mutters to himself; three wars and they're still coming back for more; Haense had openly raided Aleksandria a few Saint's Weeks back... "Now it ends."
  10. "Ave, His Majesty Joeseph," Rotger declares, "Ave Courland!" ((http://vocaroo.com/i/s1dG9KobYOaf))
  11. Rotger grimly watches the scene unfold, arms crossed, leaning against the back wall. Upon the declaration of Tobias' passing, he'd echo the words muttered in the hall; “The king is dead, God save the king.” He then adds"three wars, an' this is how it happens. Enjoy the Seven."
  12. Rotger hears of this from his bedchambers. "Two crippled nations born from the ashes of a crippled Empire are trying to use their crippled armies to overthrow a city-less nation... Or am I not understanding this correctly? And what happened to the d'Amauries, are they the usurpers? If they are, at what point did the d'Amauries lose the throne in the first place?" The servant simply shrugs, not relaying the angry, bed-ridden man's rant out of the room.
  13. "Three months," the servant warns Rotger, "don't even try getting up for two. And there's a ceasefire for three anyway, so you're not missing anything." "Damn it fine," he thumps the bed, his recently healed leg having let him down in the combat, and almost led to his incapacitation.
  14. Rotger thinks he has a suit of armour previously owned by a Julia, one Julia Barbanov. Curious.
  15. In the end, we're all still playing LotC, so none of us are winners.
  16. Rotger then wonders why it is that two nations technically still not at war would murder the royals of another except for warmongering reasons, followed by asking himself what a screenshot it. Moreover, what a screen was. 'If it were putting an arrow through a lady's changing screen', he thinks, 'that's just wrong!' He then recalls that he stipulated that Courlandic soldiers fought off the opposing soldiers the pontiff had smuggled in with him whilst on his 'diplomatic' mission. Not that much of it matters, now the Mardonian army is dead and sinking into a marsh.
  17. Rotger would once again note that no Courlandic soldiers touched the pontiff. Rotger would then note that Mardon's soldiers are kidnapping Courlandic nobles & executing them. 'Wait,' he thinks to himself, 'how long did Haense get away with the same crimes before--'...
  18. Rotger raises a brow having never heard of nor met this 'Gregory' person.
  19. "Exactly," Rotger mumbles to himself, "because after what happened last time, we'd let them have another go at it."
  20. Rotger von Curon flicks through a few pages of a copy he'd somehow found from somewhere before setting the book down with a heavy sigh. To himself, he says "shocking, that Hansetians had come to expect such savagery from us..." He then hums quietly. "For their command to have deluded their commonfolk, warping their perceptions of us so far from the truth, its.. just staggering. As regrettable as it is to have to admit, it's a good thing we didn't accept an early peace."
  21. Rotger continues to wonder why there's such a mass exodus when most Courlanders have shown their willingness to cooperate with most of the existing Haensetian nobles. He continues to wonder why they're leaving considering Carnatians and Courlanders are at heart not too different, continues too because nobody's being forced to leave either.
  22. Ser Rotger gives a heavy sigh as the celebrations of the end of the war ensue in Aleksandria. "Shame it had to come to this. To all Haensetians who may be listening to me from Courland, no beef."
  23. Rotger first wonders why the Courlander troops Coltaine has no control over are getting so enraged by some pretty colours, as if they're children or something, before peering off in the direction of the odd sound emanating from a cave lacking an entrance. "Odd, I thought we'd gott'n all of 'em, seems two're hiding in a cave together... Having an awful lot o' fun."
