  1. It's mocking you for your lack of self awareness because you have a persona named Sigmar which happens to be very rare in real life but is very commonly associated with Warhammer Fantasy. There is the joke explained for you.
  2. Roleplaying as a French person in the past has made me realise that they shouldn't exist and yet we continue to tolerate their existence. How can they speak like that and expect to live life without consequence?
  3. CONTENT WARNING: IMPLIED GRAPHIC DEATH “All love comes from God. Without God’s love, we would not know how to love. Love your family as God loves us. Love your wife as God loves us. Love God as God loves us. Without love in our hearts, we cannot hope to be virtuous. It is important we recognise that.” Venerable Anders Cardinal Jorenus, 390 E.S. Dawdling towards Karosgrad’s sturdy eastern gate, Petyr turns his head to a young woman about his age. “Petyr, why do you look at me like this?” she smiles before peering down at her own feet as they walk. He hums before smiling as well, “You do look good.” he pauses speaking for a moment until she looks back at him before reaffirming, “Beautiful.” her face blushes pink, hiding some of the light freckling on her cheeks. “If you’d like, I can take you home.” he offers her, hoping to have some extra time to spend with her. Still blushing, she hums for a moment before nodding. As the two follow the path, the young woman tells a story about her village and her family. They share stories of what they have in common, making jokes at each other’s expenses before joining together in laughter. Petyr stops, holding her on the shoulder before pointing up towards the steep hill on their left. Atop lay a purple wildflower, he puffs out his chest a little before he speaks, “Stay here, I am going to get it for you.” He goes towards the hill, grabbing onto a thick root exposed near a rock to pull himself up. Petyr ventures further up, a distant sound of galloping drawing nearer. Picking the flower, he turns around to look down the hill before waving it in the air to show that he got it as the young woman cheers for him. Distracted, the distant galloping soon became heavy hooves but it was already too late. The horse, ridden by a hooded figure, turned a curve that galloped directly into the woman, pushing her back before tumbling over onto its side a few metres ahead, trapping the figure’s leg against the floor. Petyr, seeing her still moving, slides down the hill, letting go of the flower. Just before he could reach the bottom, a guard chasing after the first horse with his own horse tramples over the young woman a second time. “Juliya!” Petyr lets out a voice-cracking scream as he hovers over her unmoving body. “Juliya!”
  4. “As a farmer reaps his harvest from the fields through hard work, so does Man reap his destiny from God through virtue.” Venerable Anders Cardinal Jorenus, 390 E.S. A bead of sweat rolls down the youthful farmhand’s brow as he continues to scythe a clearing by some steadings, the smell of culled grass floods his nostrils as the sun above begins to make its descent on the horizon. Holding his scythe upright as he observes his hard work, a caring womanly voice calls out from behind him, “Petyr! You have done enough, da?” Taking note of the voice, he lays his scythe against a timber plank before making his way towards the woman with a smile, “For today, Mamej.” As Petyr lay atop his rope bed to rest his legs, late noon turns to dusk while a bubbling of a cauldron perpetuates a meaty aroma throughout the home. After a time, footsteps patter across the floor towards him accompanied by the sound of ruffling cloth before a knock interrupts his rest. “I’ve got something for you, Padrevar.” a familiar gruff voice emits before a full bearded man comes into Petyr’s view. The man juts out an arm to offer a necklace with an aurum-encrusted Husariya pendant attached. Petyr takes it delicately, examines it before looking up at the man, “Thank you, Papej.” He’d clip the necklace around his neck as he made his way towards the stewing cauldron where his mother would hand him a bowl of the delicious stew. Yum yum.
  5. Petyr would receive a copy of the report alongside the transcript from his merchant father. The next few weeks, he would read over it in parts to help improve his literacy skills in Common to complement his native New Marian. Through his learning, he would learn more about this new kingdom. While he felt a devotion to his own kingdom, he had this unshakable feeling to pursue Aaun to learn more about it and its people. Alas, he still had to help provide for his family and he wasn't going anywhere any time soon.
  6. I have an Orc that I created to diversify my roleplay with the initial intention to become a Shaman, which I don't play anymore when I began putting more focus into other personas with more responsibilities. In the end, I only actively played it for a few weeks. People in this thread are making out Orcish culture and lore to be some extraordinarily complicated thing, but in truth it really isn't. As with any racial lore, it takes a little bit of effort to learn and wrap your head around. If you do some reading about Blah, keep a forum post to the side while you roleplay, you will quickly learn the basics and even the advanced parts of Blah. If you make a mistake or can't figure what to do, the other people you roleplay with tend to be pretty lenient. After all, you're new and you can't be expected to know everything at the snap of a finger. To an outsider, of course it'll look intimidating because it's not something that you're familiar with. Elven communities use the Elven language, how heavy the usage varies heavily depending on the community you're in, and it's something that people will eagerly learn so that they can understand better. Weirdly, there are Elven players on this thread pointing out not being able to understand Blah when there would have been a point in time where they didn't understand Elven. Effort is all it takes. Personally, I think Elven is much harder to learn but everyone is different. I'm not a good skinner, but by using third-party websites and advice from Krugmar's community, I was able to mishmash a skin together that was actually good. The community is generally very receptive and welcoming. There were roleplay opportunities being passively advertised and offered to any who were interested, and I was able to learn more about the lore (especially about the spirits, which are much simpler than people think) just by engaging with other Orcs in roleplay. For outsiders, yeah... it can be troublesome to engage in some activities. Orcs are generally played as being quite tribal and homogeneous. Despite the scepticality, there are still opportunities for 'foreigners'. The honourary system is something that opens up much more opportunities intended for Orcs to people who don't play Orc personas. Orcs are not exclusive in this and there are multiple communities that try to stay culturally homogenous and will often mark their outsiders in some way, the Halflings (improper Halflings) and Haelun'or (impure High Elves) are the first to come to mind. I will agree that Orcs do fit a certain niche and it would be difficult to escape that niche. However, I do not think that it is entirely by fault of the community itself. Orcs in most fantasy settings are villains because of their very conflictual and bloodthirsty nature, and it is an idea carried over and brought to LotC as well since its inception. In the very racial lore for Orcs (Core Race Lore - Orcs - Racial Lore - The Lord Of The Craft), it is heavily emphasised that from birth they engage in a warrior lifestyle which is encouraged by their curse of Bloodlust with an uncontrollable urge to kill. New, even older, players will read the racial lore and use it to mold their persona. Of course, this is going to encourage villainous archetypes because it is in their very racial lore to be what we considered villainous. Naturally, people who want to engage in Conflict RP are going to see playing an Orc as the ideal option because of that racial lore. I will also agree with Rukio, the Orc community has historically been filled with toxic players. It's very well-known of their toxic past, but there are still some toxic players involved. I remember one of the first Orc VCs I joined around the time of the Elysium War someone straight up dropped the n word. It's unfortunate, but I think every community has some level of toxicity established within it, but the extent and manner just vary from community to community.
  7. Petyr, a young Haeseni farmhand, would hear of the news from his father's mouth. A new wayward power in the East that wishes to unite Man under a common cause. Still in his late adolescent years, he could not fully comprehend the history and the effects of such a movement. Regardless, he would find it interesting, and it will likely be an idea kept with him for quite some time.
  8. Petyr, a proud Highlander of Hanseti-Ruska and a proud Canonist, applauds for His Royal Majesty Karl III - the protector of all Highlanders. He would personally see this pact as a means to slowly convert the pagans to the one true faith and a tremendous display of prowess and honour for his beloved kingdom.
  9. Were the Venerable Anders Cardinal Jorenus alive to see this, he would no doubt be proud to see his honourable family restored to its rightful place in Haeseni society. The Lord is Merciful. The question is now... will Kortrevich go on further to glory?
  10. [!] These letters would all be privately delivered to the respective Norlandic residences, only for the recipients to read. These letters would initially be among a few others, though those are likely to be delivered elsewhere in Almaris. Dearest Edyth, @envy I know that I have never been a great father for you and it is a regret that I carry with me everyday. Regardless, I am glad to see that you were able to be raised well whether be by your own smarts or with your mother’s input.. Though I do know she spent a long time tending to your brother, Týr. When I took the roles of Chamberlain and Chancellor to help re-establish our family where it truly belonged, I underestimated the tasks that would be required of me. On top of eventually being promoted to a Warden in the Royal Norlandic Ashguard, there was so much that it took away from trying to directly take care of my family.. to take care of you. As you’ve surely noticed my absence, I want to let you know that I have been taking a break. The stresses of it all have taken its toll, but I am soon to come out of rest. When I come back, the family will be coming first as it always should have. I will no longer let work blind me and I will ensure that our family and our clan as a whole will benefit. We will come out stronger for it. The letter sent out by Alric was done with no consultation, and while I do not understand his intentions, I do not believe them to be for the good of our clan. It was because of his inability to control his own treasonous children as well as other self-admitted inadequacies that rendered him unable to be a good Chieftain. Thus why his youngest son, Edvard, was made a ward to myself, and why Alric abdicated from being our Chieftain in favour of me. Unfortunately, we will be unable to return in time to Alisgrad for the Chiefsmoot. The travel to bring the rest of us back will be too long so you will have to carry our votes for us and bring it to the Chiefsmoot. Týr understands the situation and will be voting for myself, and I will also be voting for myself. I hope that you feel the same and vote for me though I would not blame you if you didn’t, regardless I request of you to pass on our votes. Einar Alric, @Qaz_The_Great Your lack of confidence in me is intriguing. Not once have you attempted to contact me about my absence, and not once have you attempted to consult me regarding Edvardsson matters. Yet you call a chiefsmoot with concern for Edvardsson in mind and then you write to me as if I have committed treason. For you to claim that I am in exile is also concerning as to your lack of knowledge as I’ve done nothing wrong that would warrant an exile and I still remain within the Kingdom’s borders. Like many in our lines of work, we work hard and our effort is shown in our deeds. I have worked too hard in our King’s Council and that effort is apparent from my former and current positions as Chancellor, Chamberlain, and Warden of the Royal Norlandic Ashguard. For my hard work, I think a break is deserved with the serving of two kings - the most recent of which I voted for in our most recent Kingsmoot. On my return, however, I do plan on turning over a new leaf.. to focus solely on family as I should have done from the beginning. Many plans once considered or sampled will come to fruition. All you had to do was give me some time.. and now you must give me your vote with this Chiefsmoot you have caused. If you truly have the clan at heart, I am sure you will vote correctly. Einar Casimira, @AstriaS I know that we never had a chance to properly have a conversation together. For that I am regretful. However, I hope that you feel as obliged to assist me as I have been obliged to assist you in the past. I understand that you may feel spiteful that I had not voted for you in our last Kingsmoot, but you must remember that I directly told King Odin to replace me as Chancellor which you declined. Despite this, I would still value your input and I value your support. On my return to Alisgrad, I hope to focus more on the clan and I wish to have you involved in some projects if you would allow me to let you in on them. Unfortunately, Alric has been troublesome with his call to a Chiefsmoot.. which only further delays any progression of our clan by sparking a match that would attract his own treasonous sons like moths to a flame. It is important that we take care of our own, thus I deeply urge you to vote for me in the oncoming Chiefsmoot. I wish you well. Einar
  11. The OOCly banned Chieftain of Edvardsson, Einar, would read the document from somewhere, "Thanks for your confidence in me, Alric." he'd mutter to himself before going to send a letter to a few of his relatives and colleagues, including Alric.
  12. This is incredibly cringe. At least be a bot that spams something that most of us can understand.

  13. I hear a lot of complaining about how people can't find roleplay despite roleplay being near them that they just don't want to partake in or are too nervous to approach, and it's the same sort of people who are unwilling to create roleplay themselves because it's boring or whatever. My Brother or Sister in Christ, this is a roleplay server. If you don't want to roleplay, leave. People need to start taking the initiative more often, too many people on LotC expect good roleplay to be given to them while providing nothing in return.
  14. I first met you in 2019 while I was trying to experience Rosenyr where you happened to be active in at the time. When I first heard you in a VC, I knew immediately you were a toxic whiny *****. Over the years from my occasional sight of you, it only seemed to become more clear that I was right in my judgement. I do have a question for you though. Did you play elves with horns to symbolise how horny you are for children?

  15. Grigory Grubb would weep for his fallen son. Stumbling into his burrow with a bag full of Grubby's much-loved carrots, he would place them beside his own collection of much-loved apples contained in a sack.
  16. Einar Edvardsson, the Chieftain of Clan Edvardsson, has a seizure.

    THE SKAVIK

Yngvar Nefjólfrsson would examine a mound of Almarian rocks as he searched for the best rock. He would eventually find the perfect specimen. With his tools in hand, he would begin to inscribe his name as he giggled knowing that his name would exist forever on Almarian soil.
  18. It is always good to see the firsthand experience of a former Admin on the innerworkings of a team and the greater staff as a whole. There's a lot of bureaucracy and protocols, which can sometimes be obstructive for a moderator trying to enforce rules. Nepotism is rampant and people who should be removed from teams for their inactivity, bad behaviour, etc. aren't being removed because they know the right people who keep them on those teams and at times even elevate them to higher positions when there are people who should be put on teams that aren't despite easily making good replacements or additions to a team. There is some change necessary to LotC but the website is without a doubt one of the most important platforms that need updating and it's something that from my understanding everyone agrees with. Hopefully we see a new website by or during the transition to the next map whenever that may be. Good post.
  19. As someone who has been a moderator multiple times and someone who has been on the internet in general for a long time, I can tell that you are speaking from a position of inexperience or maybe even ignorance for how these processes work. I have no doubt that I will be rehashing what some people have already said but since it's relevant I'll say it anyway. The internet consists a vastly varied demographic worldwide which includes contrasting cultural attitudes, perspectives, and worldviews. Lord of the Craft is no different and also consists of varying demographics whether it be users from varying fantasy fandom subcultures, varying countries, varying ethnicities and so on. Lord of the Craft, in no official capacity, "desperately" tries to be 'woke' and a 'safe space' devoid of criticism and bias. Forcing players to conform to one mindset on the server would alienate large groups of players who just wish to enjoy a fantasy setting. Of course, Moderation (generally-speaking) on LotC does its best to protect users from hateful and harassing content present on the server's official platforms: the Minecraft server, the forums, the main discord, and the staff discord. Targeted and persistent harassment found on-platform will result in months-long bans. There are also rules against discussions of a political or controversial nature on-platform, however sometimes depending on the moderator they are more lax with their warnings and will only put an end to the discussion if it reaches points of contention. Community leaders of unofficial platforms (usually settlement or nation discords these days) are generally expected to handle topics that happen on their own platforms. It is not the duty of the server's moderators to enforce anything outside of the server's platforms. Exceptions are made in grievous circumstances such as predators who are considered a danger to the community if given a platform, but generally it is the responsibility of those community leaders to ensure that their platforms abide by their own community guidelines as well as ensuring that discord's guidelines are met, reporting individuals to Discord Support if needed. In circumstances where it is in private messages on Discord, you should ignore them, block them or report them to Discord Support. With your general demeanour, you come off as emotionally immature, antagonistic and passive-aggressive. I have personally interacted with you in the past on Discord and I have seen how you have interacted with other people so I am taking your claim that you were randomly DM'd a transphobic insult while providing no surrounding context or evidence with a grain of salt. Last I saw you in an in-depth conversation, you were upset and had a small rant which included insults in Haense's discord months ago calling people OOCly transphobic because some of those present were not RPly receptive to some LGBT post you wrote (Link includes a few snippets, conversation is publicly available in #general of Haense discord if anyone's curious). A past username of yours is also a play on the word 'Misandry' which is the dislike/contempt/prejudice against men, which seems consistent with your usage of 'cis men' in an insulting manner. If I recall correctly, I believe I've also seen your username with an infraction for slander in the infraction database. I wish you good luck on your path to self-improvement.
