World Team... Please?

Usually I would begin these long winded coping sessions with a preface, but one is not needed here, because you all know what this is about.

Where is world team? What are they doing?

 

These 2 simple questions have bounced around in my head for a while now. World team is obviously a crucial part of the staff for reasons that I will go into later, and to say it in the most respectful way possible, i'd like them to get back in action. 
Here are some of the things from my humble noobie experience that the world team is responsible for;

 

Map art: Putting pictures on maps and giving it to players for an extra layer of decoration and scenery to a place. Obviously it doesn't have to all be typed out how much this improves the immersion and rp of a building’s interior, or even just makes individual blocks look 1000 times cooler. It also removes the need for 3 or 4 ugly ass signs to be placed in front of the very thing we're supposed to be looking at. But I digress.
SoulStone Pillars: Of course this is going to be a BIG part of the rp and travel around the large map of almaris, so being able to answer questions about these things is equally as important to the people that use the pillars as it is to the ROs and PROs that have to manage them.
Region greetings: You all know these, they are what you see when you walk onto a tile/region and see the large paragraph in the bottom left, and theyre ******* awesome.They are very useful for setting a scene and enhancing some aspects of rp that wouldnt be otherwise mentioned. Some people ignore them or read them once and never pay attention again, but the fact is, theyre cool and should be everywhere that PROs and ROs can pay for.
Roads: Self Explanatory, connecting one building or town to another.

Pasting Builds: This one is a sore spot for the community’s interaction with the world team. Never has anyone said that WT is ever pleasant or punctual when it comes to pasting in builds. And while that is not the fault of WT members, it always fascinates us how long some pastes can take to get finished, and how ghostly some of the WTs seem to be as soon as we need them. [As a full disclaimer, I have never had to deal with a WT for a paste, but I have been on the council of ~5 different settlement/nation leaders and have been there for the firsthand accounts.]
Next Map: Self Explanatory, building the next map. And of course building the ET event sites or improving the natural world we already have.

 

Now, it makes me very happy to say that I HAVE seen WT members deal with a lot of these wreqs quickly, and efficiently; specifically the Road and SoulStone ones. However, regarding the Map art and region greeting ones, WT was sadly much less than helpful on those. My issue is not that the world team has closed those opportunities for RP improvement off from the community, especially for people willing to pay lots and lots of minas. My issue is that the reasons they gave were vague and left a lot of room for doubt.

For the map art that I had requested, waited, and pinged for, I was told roughly that people were being spammed with requests and were on hiatus, so it could not be done. Which is fine, but when I asked again almost a month later, WT (including managers) still just said they were closed and left it at that. (this is confirmed still an active block by a conversation ive had only a few minutes ago.)

For region greetings (this one makes me frown), I was told in no long words that region greetings were not available either, and also that they were only for nation capital tiles. The claim made in the last sentence is not true. Im sure you and I have all seen plenty of region greeting messages on nation vassals and other non-ST event sites, and I can think of 3 that come to mind right off the top of my head (those being Sarissa, Krew, and Stygian). Now perhaps I mis-rememberd what the answering WT said (which is unlikely but certainly a possibility), but even if that was a newly instated rule, I certainly haven't heard of it. No posts, no announcements, no reference to that from the WT that rejected the RG. This leads me to my next and main point.

Firstly, shutup keegan. Secondly, shutup keegan.
Thirdly, this is not about the things we cant have, as cool as they’d be. Its about the fact that world team does not talk to us. They are just as important as any other team for the longevity and short term beauty of the server, and yet they are the ones who get shit on most by the community, and the ones who get the least attention.

 

 

But this, this is the final nail in the coffin for me. 

Some time ago, a young and dumb lomiei_ decided to join WT, to see if he could address some of these issues, to maybe produce some of these benefits to the community, to try and support the team in the lesser important roles so that the main hitters could focus on the big stuff, but most of all, to be a conduit for the community to talk to and see what was going on with the team, since there was not any public figues that answered questions about what was going on with WT.
BUT! ALAS! My app was, for lack of a better term, ignored. A response in a few hours would be impossible, in a few days would be unreasonable… but a week? A week seemed like it wouldnt be too bad for a team that didnt seem to be doing much else. And as such, when 7 days passed, I excitedly pinged the world team… this is what I got.

Why are they not adding new members? I have no idea. This is quite confusing, considering the fact that the above issues could be addressed by some new blood that has the time and energy to provide aid. And yet, ‘their hands are tied’.

 

Ive been rambling for too damn long so lemme conclude.

Im not asking for map art and region greetings or for builds to be pasted in on time (although those things would be cool).

I'm just asking that the world team makes it easier to discuss things with them, to have open lines of discussion where we can get more than 1 sentence responses to our questions.
That's all, it's completely understood that staff is a volunteer service, and that it's all meant to be a fun and beneficial group for the community, so if anything good comes from this post, lets just… y'know… talk to each other.

There is a post about able to request map art. However i've been told the plugin was broken by WT.

 

I suggested a better setup than what they have currently but its been under review for the last month(+). To the other concerns don't have much say.

My two cents in this is from my understanding WT is quite understaffed. So trying to do anything grand is a bit hard for them when they get x  amount of tickets weekly, maybe daily? Dont want to say WT is ignoring people. But keep in mind its short staffed of volunteers that are doing everything they could for all of us.

 

Maybe also wonder why they arent allowed to get more builders though..

we got map art, the thread is somewhere beyong yonder, however as a victim of the "whenever" it takes for pasting i would like to say the faster you yourself work, and the better, the faster you get your paste, i mostly get mine within days unless i have to use other WT members then my normal guy

When you say that, is there anything specific about WTs relationship with admin specifically that led to the... for lack of a better term, diminishing of the team?
Perhaps it has something to do with the facet that I didnt even know who the world admin was until about a month ago, and probably 80% of lotc still doesnt.
