For three decades, I devoted the entirety of my existence in service to this realm, surrendering my soul and essence to its prosperity. Now, I find myself surrounded by the oppressive weight of those in the royal administration with an insatiable thirst for power. I am suffocated by laughably childlike individuals, a prime example being Princess Elena, whose profound simplemindedness has given her the audacity to believe she has a grain of intelligence. Thus with heavy hand, I write that I shall, from this day forth, no longer reside within the land that is my home. In the pursuit of emancipation from the despicable association of being married to King Adrian I, I hereby renounce the regal designation of Queen Consort, severing the tether that binds my identity to this discredited union on the grounds of his adultery. Instead, I shall preserve my right to the title of Queen Mother, befitting my maternal role to my children who, I pray, will emancipate this kingdom from the clutches of the power-obsessed Princess Elena and the inept man who comically calls himself a “king.” In our pursuit to commence the revitalization of our homeland, for Balian to be more than Elena’s playground of power and Hadrian’s domain of incompetency, we must assert our right to a kingdom distinguished not by corruption and inefficiency, but by merit and honour. To embark upon this endeavour, it becomes imperative to unmask the parasites that lurk beneath the surface. And so I write, in prayer, that our nation shall one day be returned to the faint dreams of the past that have been hijacked by a mockery of what once was. In the wake of my departure, my heart aches for the people I shall leave behind. I implore those who wish to reach me to do so by letter, and swiftly we will meet. Although I may no longer bear the title of Queen Consort of Balian, my unwavering commitment shall always remain to the people. Under his breath, he muttered, "Puta. Puta. She is unfaithful ... I heard her years ago when I was a child. She spits in the eyes of god -- I knew I should've reported it!" "How dare she insult him," the man wept, an ugly look bore on his face. "No better than a peasant, now. Where will she run? Where must we burn?" No doubt, he was ... loyal to Adrian to a fault. Later, he'd go home to his three sons, one of which shared that King's name. In teaching history to them - and others - years later, he'd spit the former Queen's name with venom, or not all, omitting her.
