well getting killed by a non-scion mage using a polearm (which non-scion voidal mages can’t use) sucked. so does fearing being kidnapped every time i get online. one of your guys rp’d farting in my friend’s face once, that was weird. i had multiple terrible experiences with you guys during the war too. it feels like a lot of ferrymen only want to do bandit rp and when someone tries to genuinely rp with them they get fed up because someone is trying to genuinely rp with them instead of just oneliners of omg dont kill me please :(. 

 

so, serious powergame issue, serious rp quality issue. your group should not make people genuinely oocly dread logging on.

I was a 14 year old Orenian screamer when the "Ferrymen" found me lying on the side of the road. The MRA had just been obliterated in another OOC wiki skirmish by the evil KP alliance and we were suffering greatly. They promised me great riches, wild adventures beyond my dreams.

All we've done for the past 3 years is troll a little, make a couple failed nation projects, stab a lot of really angry minecrafters, and yell at each other in the snapchat GC.

We did nothing wrong (except sideswap that one time) and it's my honest opinion that if you're upset about being murdered by other minecrafters on minecraft you need to find a different server.

Whenever I play my ferrymen, there is no RP purpose. It's usually when I want to mess with players and do bad-faith roleplay in order to cool off after a bad shift from work IRL. I enjoy seeing players get extremely upset and it kind of makes me feel better about myself. Why do I bandit? There is no reason - I don't even need loot, I could just pex abuse to spawn that in, and my moderator friends let me get away with this bad faith RP.

 

I generally enjoy targeting the karens, the CRP voidal mages. I enjoy seeing their reaction when my moderator friends turn it to PVP and I get all their loot. I normally also make big forum posts to rub it into their face. Are we here for good roleplay? Nah, don't let my ferrymen friends fool you. I became a ferrymen for the purposes of being toxic.

 

Here's a list of moderators who show me bias and let me get away with my bad-faith roleplay.

I joined the Ferrymen in 2022 due to escalating tensions between members of the Petra player group. A big motivation for my role-play is being in-game actively participating and speaking with other people. However, the leadership of Petra at the time was principally concerned with numbers and attempting to cobble together a new player base out of Bickando's players and a bunch of EddyWilson's Balianese.

 

Never had too much of a stake in other people's beef. But people began smearing me as a Ferryman behind closed doors because I was friends with MaltaMoss. I'd had nothing but good interactions with Malta, who had risked his neck in-game to defend my friends. At some point, I had enough and left and joined the Ferrymen permanently, and I've been in the Ferrymen for what is going on for two years. The out-of-character high school attitudes within Humanity grew immensely frustrating, I knew that the Ferrymen had issues themselves due to a few people in that group who were behind the side-swapping debacles, but it was something I was willing to try out if it meant being around some honest people. I was tired of being treated as a tool in the utilitarian sense, being lied to out of character by people who would gladly screw one another over. Some examples of sh*t I saw regularly that poisoned the well. This wasn't the first time either, my time in Oren was characterized by stuff like this, except this time there was no @Esterlento keep me sane and involved and mediate disputes.

 

Genuinely, people do not treat you like a human being in a nation, they treat you as a tool. I am sure there are exceptions, but after 12 years of that kind of content, I decided to just be a retired keyboard warrior in a friend group instead of playing in places that truthfully did not want me around for anything other than their ostensible benefit. There is no brotherhood in large groups. The Ferrymen are insular, tight-knit, small, and individual players can exercise a lot of feedback and decision-making within reason.

 

 

I was tired of the cringe. Being immersed at all angles by people who behaved pathetically even with one another. It wasn't just that I was an outlying player; it was that they didn't even treat their friends with respect either. The amount of fun I've had in the Ferrymen has been fulfilling by comparison. Sure, I can role-play with fewer people because I'm stereotyped as a malicious player who will kill people for no reason. But Mickaelhz, MaltaMoss, Mirvam, Orlanth, and other people are my bros and have (for the most part) always backed me up on all my projects and given me space if I don't feel like playing. There is genuine respect and camaraderie among the Ferrymen for the most part.

 

The ability to just trust your friends is undervalued here. At least if Mickaelhz does something I don't like, he will tell me to go **** myself.

 

My biggest critique of the Ferrymen is that we often do not settle on one project and have our tendrils in everything. But I'd gladly take that over being used and abused by a bunch of wannabe Machiavelli's.

one time i almost got robbed and the ferryman robbing me got so annoyed with me doing emotes (of my character just being a scared victim pretty much) that were longer than one-liners, they just let me go because they didn’t want to read allat. not a bad encounter just a hilarious and telling one. tldr, if you need to escape a bandit, just actually roleplay at them

I know I am not welcomed in any threads, and I just hope my comment won't be deleted this time. You know what happened. But anyways, here are my thoughts on the Ferrymen. They once halted me while I was tending to my cows and my farm because I love roleplaying as a peasant, in case you didn't know that already. They were so toxic, telling me to get better skins. I am trying to get better skins, okay? (I see red whenever someone mentions my skin is bad.) On top of that, one of the Ferrymen also scammed me out of my ST items. They promised I would get a better ST item, but they never gave it back. Please, you know who you are. I demand my items.

I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM.

 

In oren times I was a proud ISA soldier, respected, knighted, I was supposed to be handed my very own signature Empire wig. Time and time again I was so angry when the ferrymen kept storming out weekly regiment adress where we handed our very own peice of 3 mina per oren soldier and a personal scolding by our very respectful leaders. I am now missing a lot of mina and I will never be able to get my wig that every other Oren player got. Damn you ferrymen! Especially you @budaq and Paladin! Shame on you. You owe me a wig.

PS: I hated how our leadership admired your pvp skills and how they were so jealous. I wanted leadership that was true to their hate against the ferrymen!
