Pfft, Python's the way to go. So is Squeak. Having literally everything be an object in a language with minimal basic syntax makes for a ridiculously fun and flexible language.

Using a Katana properly requires extensive training.

Actually, looking back, around the 10thCentury, the longsword seen today was utilized. Where as, a recognized but still underachieved katana was not seen until the 13-14th century.
