Hamachi servers are rather easy, although you can only have 5 members on your network. Basically you setup a hamachi network, make a minecraft vanilla server or bukkit and make the IP the Ip on the hamachi and use that to connect to the server :3

There are always legitimate cases where you are banned for something you did not do (I do believe I've seen those cases) in which case you would create an Appeal explaining your story and providing evidence of such occurrence.

However the system the GMs have for logging and providing evidence is so incredibly good that there is rarely a time where someone is banned for something they did not do. Although the people who did commit the breaking of rules underestimate the GM...

GM's ability to provide such logs and deny their committing it, which pretty much never works.

However, excuses for behavior you admit to commiting is just a no. That's like saying "I forgot cybering was against the rules". That will hopefully never stand as an excuse.
