      Plate armour didn't disappear with the creation of hand held guns, it was continuously used well into the 17th century and parts of the 18th century. Plate armour disappeared when the conical bullet and faster loading and more accurate rifles came into play, therefore making it ineffective.

      Full plate armor gradually disappeared with the invention of handheld guns. There more accurate, and what I said remains true.

      Full plate armour was never common amongst the average soldier, and due to the type of bullets muskets and flintlocks fired as well as their chamber they were less accurate, harder to reload and were less effective in singular use.
