A FALLING ROSE

Calla Veiel stood on a beach, tears falling down her cheeks. All that ran through her mind was the last conversation she had with her dear friend, wishing she could take back her harsh words. "Rosa... I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you." She spoke to the air, praying that somehow Rosalind could hear her.

Inside a house, a toddler played with a doll given to her by the Princess, blissfully unaware of her Aunt's passing.

She had abandoned her friends so many years ago, although how they might've felt never settled within her mind; until now. Staring out over the water as nothing but childhood memories flooded her mind, and tears flooded her cheeks. The circlet, gifted to her by the Princess, was slipped from her head and held tightly against her chest. "Rosalind.." Isavella's head bowed for only a moment, tiling back as she stared into the blazing sun, glistening from sweat and tears beneath its rays.

Nothing more was uttered as she kneeled at the shore; alone and crying.

Cold eyes met the Princess', uttering words to the woman before they turned and walked their own separate ways. "The world will break you, or it will forge you into something greater." She uttered to herself upon hearing of the Princess' passing. A scoff followed before the interaction was all but forgotten.

As soon as the news that her closest friend had passed away reached her, the Queen of Balian lit a candle and placed it in her window. "Mitras, be with Rosalind." Andromeda puts on her mourning robe and offers a silent prayer for her cherished friend as she prepares for the coming days.

An elderly Waldenian frowned deeply as the news of Rosalind's death reached him. Although much younger than he, the young royal had always impressed him with her desire to do good for her people. A bottle, almost as old as he, was retrieved, carrying with it the memories from his own youth in Norland. After a few long drinks of the liquid within, the Waldenian could only state, "To Prinzessin Rosalind."

Asleon Rivelwynna former personal guard for Rosalind went through the stages of grieve in a span of minutes from hearing the news. His icy purple orbs grew glossy from the tears welled within them as the man paced back and forth non-stop until his legs buckled beneath him. The 'Fenn, wept into his palms, "Kaean ciwndion'ito omentereyae" He whispered, as in translation speaks, may we meet in the long slumber.

A younger Waldenian is saddened to hear the news of his close friend's passing. The first of the group, and he'd pray it'd be the last for quite some time. He'd set out to find his betrothed in the hopes of comforting her through such a difficult time. During his journey he'd swear to do a better job of protecting those close to him and to help shoulder whatever burdens may face them.

A young 'princling', or maybe not so young any longer, gasped upon hearing the news. Alf hadn't known the princess for long, but nevertheless, he'd fostered what he believed to be quite a connection with her on first meet. Alf rushed to his fiance's chambers, the Princess Morrigan Arthalion. Alf rapped on the door, "She's gone... Morri. Vesta's friend..." the fellow reached into his sleeve for a red handkerchief which he'd dab under his eyes with "I should have done more, should have made more of an effort to know her, I should have done something"

Alva stood there, in the midst of processing this lost of her dear sister.

"You're lying."

"You wouldn't do that, Rosa."

She said in her empty room, lofting a palm to her face - stifling her weeps.

Stowed away in the depths of a cave, a witch sat hunched over a corpse - bones and flesh molding and melting in her hands, as meat was ever so gracefully shoved into her mouth. The metallic creak from her blackplate knights shifted as did she - blackened claws pausing in the midst of digging into the core of whomever's body she was feasting over. Curls of charred ebony fell past tense shoulders with glazed eyes staring out to the entrance - all but a lantern illuminated the red that dripped from her lips.

"Something just happened ..."

Vesta Gwenyth had written a letter to Rose, informing her she had safely made it to a different continent and begun her travels. Only later did that letter return with the missive. "Oh Rose, I will miss our drinks and the friendship we shared. May you find peace beyond." She murmurs as she leaves a little marking along the road she walked, a carved rose protected once more.

      Stein's Final Moments
Alone, that was the feeling he felt, as he laid on the table in the surgical room in the Hohkmat clinic. Fear made itself  known as well, as he was recently cured from vampirism in that very room. The fear only grew as the restraints seemed to get tighter and the room spinning. Two others made there way in, separate, and at different times. They were once friends, family even if it came down to it. But his actions caused them to forget him as someone good. Hour's passed by as Stein, now called Almer, laid there on the surgical table, waiting for his fate to be decided. The door creaked open and his restraints came loose, allowing himself to sit up. His fate had been decided, the only thing he could do, was make it painless. The choices were simple, die a painful death, or be put to sleep, feeling nothing. The decision was simple, as he took the Nightsap juice given to him.

Before drinking, memories of his life flashed in his mind, memories of his childhood on his farm with his family, that he had forgotten so long ago. Now taking a drink of the juice, memories of his time in Reinmar, the friends he made that grew into a family outside of his original home on the farm. And as he slowly drifted away, his memories were of his new friends, now wishing him dead. The last image that made it's way to his mind was everyone he knew, gathered together. Almost like a final farewell, even though he did not deserve it. As his death drew near a tear rolled down his face, before his heart stopped, his limbs and body turning cold, and his image, slowly fading away, into the darkness, as he drew his very last breath.

      OOC NOTE:
Finally, after almost three months of playing as Stein/Njal/Almer, I have finally made the decision to pk him. This wasn't the ending I wanted for him, however this is the ending I am giving him. I am taking this time to thank everyone that was a part of his life, these past three months on the server have been a blast. Stein and myself have made a lot of friends that I hope to keep and play along side them with other characters I make. So for those reading this thank you and to anyone that knows, give a salute as "The Stone Fortress" has finally fallen.

I will now take the time to thank those that have impacted Stein's life greatly @FunkehMelon @melonth @ickyNuN @confusedjester @Rocky_Wolf @SmothBM  @Irishmanmichael  and of course many more that I am sadly too lazy to actually search up and apologize for it. However though not everyone that has impacted Stein's life will be on here, I have not forgotten you and will never forget you. So thank you all for the fun three months, and I will see you all in my next lives <3!
