  1. Norli Starbreaker, though weaver of deception and countless lies, smiles in comfort knowing he holds no high tower nor mansion as he is homeless.
  2. Warhammer Fantasy is the source of a majority of Urguan's culture, we ripped it off. Clever fuckers we is.
  3. Norli Starbreaker's great bushy beard shivers as he hears the news. "I think en all my toime as High Prophet, all service I had done ta Yemekar pales en comparison ta da great work done en Kal'Mugdor under da leadership o' Dorimnur. Et will take an immeasurable effort ta measure up ta his capabilities en bringin' da labor o' Yemekar ta all dwarves. I pray we may be gifted with a new Pick who es even a fraction as good as Dorimnur."
  4. One day you'll say yes @ScreamingDingo@SquakHawkdon't deny it

  5. Khaz’A’Dentrumm hung high in the night sky when Norli Starbreaker roused his children and wife from bed, rambling about an imminent threat. Not long after he had packed all his personal belongings and left the prestigious palace of the Grand King, Urguan’s crown resting on the desk. No threat ever came to Kal’Darakaan, however, and more likely had one left. The bane of many dwarven kings - Ambition. The curse of Khorvad weighs heavy on every dwarven crown, and after a century of schemes on Norli not least. Though his beard was longer and more gray than most in Urguan, the prophet was still young and certainly a tragedy for his age that he had succumbed to madness, though it would not be an unfamiliar experience for him. Norli had fought with a torrent of voices for long before he was even High Prophet as those closest to him may know, a psychological scar suffered from the Battle of Jornheim Fields. With the blessings of the Brathmordakin Norli had turned such into inspiration for ballads, poems and scriptures, but with the paranoia of the Northern War and the pandemonium of dwarven politics Norli lost the ability to control his ‘divine inspiration’, and hence did he make leave one random night. Past the Markets of Kal’Darakaan and the forges of Kal’Mugdor, Norli guided his family in secret to a small nook in the underrealm where blessed to be in the company of a caring wife, the bearded lady Bryldryn Grandaxe, he is kept for so he may one day return to health. But still the prophet lingers, hidden under stone and shadow; Scheming Away.
  6. who's the best landlord?
  7. Reece this isn't a question but more so a firm pat on the back. You're a passionate guy, and earnest too. Certainly more kind and understanding than you used to be, and frankly that's a compliment. The ability to self improve and to grow is far more important than remaining the same. I think if you continue to develop the caves both build and lore wise, you can really help Urguan's environment and atmosphere feel much more developed and storied, something often lacking on LOTC.
  8. IGN: Nooblius43 RP NAME: Norli Starbreaker AGE: ~270 ACTIVITY REQUIREMENT: (If you ever want to see your Relics again, you will accept this ballot.) CANDIDATE: Grand Emperor Rhewen Frostbeard of Vandurguan
  9. The Grand King of Urguan, though uninformed about his new military access to Talon's Port, is nonetheless pleasantly surprised. "Cool."
  10. in fairness, I don't think people realize that minecraft is very poorly designed to handle large numbers. IMO, the bigger problem is how much we rely on the idea that warclaims will be large uncapped battles when we really should just know that's not feasible. I personally suggest Staff takes some time to focus on making a fleshed out lag contingency that's more developed and RP focused.
  11. Grand King Norli Starbreaker stands at the highest peak in Almaris at the Shrine of Yemekar, looking northward as he pondered the upcoming conflict. Against the sounds of raging winds and birds flying by, he by miracle recognizes a distinct bell toll heralding the arrival of a ship. He jerks his head over his shoulder and squints as his gaze fixates on a small figure emerging, and he smiles. Things just got more interesting.
  12. Grand King Norli Starbreaker smiles proudly knowing that his Prisoner of War Trade-School is the best in all Almaris, and that unlike certain ministries, the Legion of Urguan doesn't need to force people to write letters.
  13. I think characters who redefine history forever are Lords of the Craft. Characters that define their culture, create forever lasting traditions. Under that basis, I nominate for the dwarves Thorik Grandaxe(made name Grand Kingdom, although not all of its systems. major player in writing brathmordakin tho), Thorin Grandaxe(father of the Grand Kingdom and Urguan's biggest empire), Valen Grandaxe(father of dwarven lore), and then Kerwyr and Zahrer together, as the whole ulrah/arcadian rivalry was like a major source of dwarven political RP and chaos for a long time. I'm not super familiar with other nations lores to pin point it, but very likely Mog's characters who all were very influential in their respective cultures could be nominated.
  14. ON SLANDER AND DECEPTION We regret to announce that the Kingdom of Oren has publicly attempted to slander Urguan’s folk and deceive the descendant races of their true intentions. The Grand Kingdom of Urguan and its people, however, do not subscribe to the same ideology of our Northern neighbors. We do not operate in the shadows or needlessly slander, we simply state the facts as told to us. The Orenian Government claims we have antagonized them and attempted to manufacture discontent, yet we have shown no aggression to them until our grudge only stone days ago. In terms of manufacturing discontent, we remind our brother descendents that Oren is the one who fortified their border with us- which not even in our grudge have we done- and who in the early years of this realm demanded ISA patrols to be permitted in Urguan. The Orenian Government claims that their “settlement” of our mountains was instead the settlement of unclaimed lands, yet covered up the dwarven ruins on which Sedan was built, as revealed to us by the Joannes family testimony. The Orenian Government claims to want to preserve diplomatic relations with our nation, yet has ignored Urguani attempts at diplomacy and has made it clear they refuse to compromise, and urges Urguan’s allies against cooperation with Urguan. The Orenian Government claims that we are driven by greed and pride in our demands for our rightful lands to be returned to us, yet we had offered direct payment for the lands to be returned during the previous Orenian regime in our initial interactions, it is only the lack of communication that has driven us to anger and to demand further recompense fairly such as apologies or tributes. The Orenian Government denounces our ‘practice of public humiliation’, yet seems to forget their vast history of genocide, humiliation, forced subjugation, unlawful detainment, and religious persecution, whilst they currently slander the good name of the Grand Kingdom without any attempt at settlement, despite Urguan giving Oren multiple chances of diplomacy and communication. The Orenian Government claims that this aggression comes simply from an ‘anti-Orenian’ mindset, yet all Urguan’s folk wish for is to be treated with respect and not belittled, to be given what is theirs by birthright, to only be treated with an 'anti-Accord' mindset. The Orenian Government claims the canonist faith preaches peace, yet we recently recall a blind Norlander getting beaten to his knees by the ISA to kneel before a group of nuns he could not even see before him. The Kingdom of Oren can attempt to hide their true colors behind pen and paper, yet both the khazadmar and their brother descendant races know that history repeats itself. Oren never changes, a powdered wig cannot hide a forked tongue. Say what you will about aggression, John Charles, but the dwarves are nothing but fair. Your time to conduct diplomacy and prevent war is running out, already the north mobilizes. Swallow your pride. Grand King of Urguan, Elder of Clan Starbreaker, Father of the Articles, Herald of Khaz’A’Dentrumm Lord Chancellor of Urguan, Elder of Clan Frostbeard, Master of the Order of Remembrance, Protector of Remembrance
  15. Somewhere in a world beyond mortal comprehension, in Khaz'A'Dentrumm a certain cave dwarf smiles that his refusal to compromise with an Anvilaxe had led to a series of events that inevitably freed the clan from mountain dwarf hands and into Golden ones. "Stay toasty fer meh Hekkaes, for Vuur'Dor shall be far colder."
  16. “He laid his sight on a mighty mountain, with a teeming forest and deep cavern below it, and pulled from its heart a shining jewel. It was ornate and sturdy, and YEMEKAR then forged it into form, and it became Urguan.” [Music] ᚾᚨᚱᚺ-ᛞᚨ-ᚾᚨᚴᚺᚢᛗ'ᚢᚱ-ᛞᚨ-ᛟᚱᚡᚢᛚ-ᚾᚨᚴᚺᛁᛗᛁᚱᚨᛉ=ᛖ-ᛒᚨᚴ’ᛞᚨᛗᛗᚨᛉ GRUDGE OF GREEN MOUNTAINS ᛞᚨ-ᛒᚨᚴ’ᛞᚨᛗᛗᚨᛉ-ᛖᚱᛟᚾ-ᛞᚨ-ᚷᚱᛟᛒ-ᚨᚷᚾᚨᚱᛗᚨᚱ Ever since the great beginning of dwarfdom when Lord Yemekar forged the first dwedohin from the heart of a mountain, the bearded children of Urguan have always been bound to the great feats of natural creation, the mountains. It is not just a choice or preference, but a deeply ingrained obligation and birthright for the dwarves. Yet to seek balance in Yemekar’s Creation, the dwarves have never pressed their claims to all mountains but only those that which they would directly settle, and such has been the topic of a wide history of treaties with Urguan and its neighbors- the mountain ranges settled by dwarves shall not be desecrated by foreign powers. Despite this, Urguan faces a northern problem, its neighbor the Kingdom of Oren refuses to recognize this historic precedent and settles on mountains in which dwarves are established, and when confronted on such does not recognize its own misdoings and ignores every chance of compromise or negotiation, and even fortifies and raises a fort. It is clear to me and all of the khazadmar the true intentions of our northern neighbor- Oren seeks nothing more than to spite us, but the Grand Kingdom of Urguan shall not so easily be belittled and robbed without a final say. To that end on behalf of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, the entirety of Dwarfdom, the Brathmordakin, the Paragons, and all honored ancestors, I declare a Grand Grudge against the Kingdom of Oren: FOR the plundering of the White Mountains of Arcas, territory that had been recognized officially by Oren as Urguani, looting it of its rare minerals with ISA patrols and NEVER apologizing for this wrongdoing, SHALL the Kingdom of Oren vow to never interfere with dwarven mining operations ever again. FOR the unjust settlement of the northern Green Mountains, ignoring dwarven claims and settling villages in rightfully dwarven lands with no warning to Urguan nor negotiation, SHALL the Kingdom of Oren surrender the territory to Urguan and vow to recognize all dwarven land claims in Almaris. FOR defiling said stolen lands by constructing a fortress of Oren on its peak, and raising a black monolith of Azdromoth, an affront to Yemekar in his own domain, SHALL the Kingdom of Oren construct on the northernmost Orenian mountain peak a statue of Paragon Urguan Silverbeard. FOR holding to their pride and never once acknowledging wrongdoing or disrespect done in these treachories, and for refusing to make any concessions to Urguan and ignoring diplomacy, SHALL the King of Oren personally appear in the Hall of the Obsidian Throne and issue a formal apology before a Grand Assembly of Urguan. FOR worst of all, taking the greatest chance of peace with dwarves, and spoiling it with arrogance and stubbornness, and moving the steady and sympathetic hand of Grand King Norli Starbreaker to aggression and vengeance, SHALL the Kingdom of Oren vow to never again aggress on Urguan’s Folk in the Realm of Almaris and make peace with their allies. SHOULD the Kingdom of Oren ever seek peace with Urguan’s Folk and their honored allies, each of these demands MUST be fulfilled in totality without compromise. SHOULD the Grand Kingdom of Urguan be forced into severe action, greater consequences and demands WILL follow for the wrongdoers. ULRO VELERAK ERON KHAZ’A’DENTRUMM Narvak oz Urguan, Narvak oz Brathmordakin. On the next page, the parchment of the book appears to glow red with the sheer number of names written in blood, crowning them all at the top a message from the dwarven monarch: On behalf of the Obsidian Throne and All Urguan’s Folk,
  17. [Music] A sequence of runes illuminate the main chamber of the Colossus Golem, as the dwarves stood gathered round, faces plastered with expressions of awe as the runic lexicon hummed to life, and Tyvald Kornazkarrum entered the room as an apparition. He appeared forged not from flesh nor stone, but of runic light, animated with life by forgotten spells. The figure started speaking, its voice a metallic mimicry of the Runelord, an echo reverberating throughout the hollow chamber of the runic behemoth for all the khazadmar to hear as it told the tale of the fallen behemoth. The expedition of modern Urguani dwarves huddled in the heart of the Colossus remained stunned at what they had witnessed, a marvel of lost runic engineering unseen for a century. For this purpose as they searched the chambers and returned to their camp, Grand King Norli Starbreaker hesitated and paused on the ridge of a dune, gazing at the great Colossus encased in sand. He beckoned to Yemekar’s Pick, Dorimnur Goldhand, and gestured to the ground, mumbling a simple order. “We have work to do.” ᚾᚨᚱᚺ-ᛞᚨ-ᚾᚨᚴᚺᚢᛗ'ᚢᚱ-ᛞᚨ-ᛟᚱᚡᚢᛚ-ᚾᚨᚴᚺᛁᛗᛁᚱᚨᛉ MANDATE OF EXCAVATION ᚡᛖᛚᛖᚱᚨᚴ ᛖᚱᛟᚾ ᚾᚨᛞᚱᚨ'ᚢᚱ'ᛗᚢᚷᛞᛟᚱ Centuries ago after the initial victory over Ondnarch, Terror of the North, by King Barradin Silverbeard, there was a great sum of khazadmar who left Khaz’Urguan known as the Dervas, and settled into far away lands. After the Great Collapse and Blood Age spurred by the Ironborn dynasty, most of ancient dwarven traditions have been lost to history, yet on rare occasions it is the encounters with Dervas relics that give us sight into much of lost dwarven lore. We have recently been privileged and blessed by the holy hosts of Khaz’A’Dentrumm, the Brathmordakin and their Paragons, as they have guided us into another chance encounter with the relics of the Dervas. In the Dry Sea to the far south, buried beneath the dunes is a great stone behemoth, a Colossus Golem whose shadow holds the chance of many lost treasures and lore of our people. This is the opportunity offered rarely in our history, and it is imperative even with the other trials and grudges that Urguan faces that we do not forget to properly investigate and seize the immense blessings offered to us. FOR THAT PURPOSE, as Grand King of Urguan’s Folk I declare an official objective of the dwarven people to excavate the ruins of the great Colossus Golem and retrieve whatever clues that can be found for the purpose of furthering the culture of Urguan’s Folk. For this purpose, all treasures found are officially declared as the inheritance of all Urguan, no single clan nor guild may plunder for their own, and at the completion of our excavation by Council vote we shall redistribute relics to appropriate guilds and clans. NARVAK OZ URGUAN, NARVAK OZ KHAZ’A’DENTRUMM [OOC:] The next major event in the core dwarven eventline shall take place Sunday 2nd May @ 4pm EST for all of Urguan to participate in. In between now and then, there may be occasional opportunities for roleplay related to the eventline.
