PRESENTED BY THE PRINCESS’ COUNCIL
11th of Snow’s Maiden, 1896
Themed balls have long been a practice for rejuvenating states to present their glories to the wider world and celebrate the cultural rebirth which they have undertaken. In line with this, the Principality of Sedan wishes to host a Midnight Ball, serving as both a celebration of the harvest festivals this season, as well as an exposition of the wider culture of Sedan. This ball shall draw on traditional harvest festivities practiced by Sedanian farmers during our principality’s inception. Just as we take this time to enjoy the fruits of our harvest labors, so too are we entering the seasons of long, dark nights and the seasonal decay of the natural world.
Sedan, having finally settled in with the abruptness of their regency and secured two alliances - aims to hold a ball and other activities in celebration, her people needing to be brought together and encouraged to participate in a night of fun. This ball will call for guests to don attire in the form of the absurd, frightening, or animalistic. Monsters, scarecrows, beasts, witches, and more, are encouraged.

Somewhere in the whereabouts of Artois, a little redheaded Halcourt twirled about the courtyards: "Oh- I'hm so excited for zhis! Ma and Pa would be so proud.." Little Nicoletta uttered up at herself, a prideful grin wiping the stillness from her bronze countenance.

“AUTRIE DUNEO ES A SAINTE, WILL ALWAYS BE PRUDENTLY WATCHFUL.”
1893
ST. EMMA OF WOLDZMIR
In order to promote the values of our Commonwealth and further instill them into our peoples, it is thus that the Circle of St. Emma is henceforth formed in the name of honor, bravery, and selflessness in societal roles and loyalty to such shown in one’s community. Among these may be through the arts, fashion, mannerisms, or other cultural deeds that further Petra towards solidifying its key, honorable values as a society at large. Such a circle will be composed of men and women who have undertaken squire-ship with other knights or dames of the order, and have expressed devotion to the core values of the knightly order through direct action and display of these morals.
The knightly order was created in order to uphold merit as it is shown throughout the community, to enable men and women of Petra to express their skills in all matters encompassing the arts and etiquette that may deepen the culture and society of the Commonwealth through the rigorous apprenticeships and faith to uphold and teach these ways that are held as honorable in the circle’s dames and knights.
CIRCLE HIERARCHY
The hierarchy of the Circle of St. Emma is simplistic, requiring at least two dames or knights of the order to lead it - and at most three. These leaders shall be chosen through a vote or are appointed by the Knight-Paramount of the realm and hold the title of Shieldmaidens. Shieldmaidens are the ladies who oversee all ladies in the circle and grant wardships to those who, in the future, desire to ascend to dame-hood. They shall have the final say in who trains certain wards and the quests one must complete before they are ceremoniously donned a dame. They also hold the power to remove Head Glados, and if deemed necessary - dames, squires, and wards.
Further down command are the Head Glados who tend to act as second in command to their Shieldmaidens. They are tasked with training and recruiting young women to join the Circle of St. Emma. Alike the Shieldmaidens, they may remove a troublesome lady who has yet become a dame. Additionally, they are the overseers that note progress on the squires under their leadership and report it to the Shieldmaidens so it can be determined when damehood is achieved.
Dames make up the majority of the Circle of St. Emma. They run events, create documents, and bolster further cultural development all while protecting the realm. Although, they are also allowed the privilege of training wards and sometimes squire when a Head Glados is unable. The youngest a lady may be knighted for her valiant work is 14 after approval from the Shieldmaidens in which they shall have a large ceremony in their honor.
Ladies desiring to be dames of the Circle of St. Emma are split into squires and wards. The wards of the circle are ladies between the ages of 5 and 10 - an age still pure of heart - and are molded by dames into squires. During this period the children are educated on arts, sciences, and mannerisms. Once a ward is the age of 10, they naturally transition in to a squire-ship. Despite it being an automatic transition upon reaching the age of majority, it is frequently celebrated with a banquet or festival, especially when more than one girl ascends. As a squire the girls are further trained in protecting themselves and others through combative methods, usually inter-joining with their male counterparts. They will also begin their formal quests in which they can prove they are worthy of dame-hood. Notably a lady can become a squire at any time in their life, as long as they are above the age of ten.
THE UNDERTAKING
The process in which a yearning girl must endure on the path of becoming titled a dame is tedious, and one that requires consistency and immense determination. To initiate the process itself, the dame-to-be should contact a Shieldmaiden or Head Glados in order to obtain a beginners warding position. Amidst the taking up of a ward position, the lady should be preferably of younger age - though it is not looked down upon for a woman to start the undertaking later on in her years. During these formative years of a prospective dame or knight, they will be taught the proper etiquette of a lady or gentleman, this being of proper etiquette, fashion practices - as well as the many facets of our contemporary, idiosyncratic society’s culture. In addition to all of these fundamental learnings, a potential knight or dame is to be taught the defensive and strategical basics of combat, for one can never know when war is on the rise, or when one may be challenged without notice to a duel. Protecting one’s family and one’s home is paramount to becoming a knight of the Commonwealth of Petra.
Thereafter, once a Shieldmaden has deemed a dame prepared and ready for her titling, a significant ceremony shall be held in honor of the ladies in which the citizenry of the commonwealth are cordially invited to attend. During this protocol, the dame should commence firstly by swearing the ancient oaths of knighthood to Petra’s residents, and ceremonially knighted by the Old Regime; promising to protect them and most importantly, to be prudently watchful of the evils in which potentially haunt the whereabouts of the Commonwealth. It’s especially important to note that because of the formal aura that accompanies the ceremony, that ladies should present themselves in the finest of attires and accessories in this time of honor. It is then that the three Shieldmaiden’s gift the dames a flower of gladiolus, greenery in which symbolizes strength at its stem, alongside remembrance, faithfulness, and sincerity- all virtues of which the dames should hold closest. The dame should be tasked to plant the flower in a location that is remarkable for them, before they are then issued a second task that requires the chopping of their tresses. The ladies will be released thereon from a feast. A dame is eligible for removal from the ceremony if not displayed with moderate etiquette or behavior.
TRADITIONS
Merit of Age
The largest transition for a lady in the Circle of St. Emma is their transition between squire to dame, however, equally honored is when a ward is elevated to a squire. Upon the eve of a ward’s 10th birthday she is allowed to cut a lock of her hair free and tie it with a ribbon. In the morning, she is to give it to a Lady Glado or Shieldmaiden of her choosing whom she wants to squire under. If the woman accepts, the ward is officially a squire.
Those who were not a ward before their 10th birthday are automatically a squire, however, they must prove to a Shieldmaiden that they are deserving of such. Whether that is through past work, courage, or loyalty is up to the Shieldmaiden to decide.
The Clipping of Locks
Hair is sacred to the Circle of St. Emma, therefore beside the lock that is cut when a lady becomes a squire, hair should never be cut. That is, until she ascends to dame-hood. During the ceremony she is to take a sword to her hair and chop off her tresses to show her transition manually.
Repose’s Release
In a traditional funeral for a member of the Circle of St. Emma - be it a squire, dame, or else - all those who are within the knightly order are to gather in the city’s main square where the body is set within a finely crafted boat that shall be decorated with personal memorabilia representing the member’s life and persona. From there, in a line with pairs standing side by side do they lift the boat high and bring the deceased to the nearest riverside. There, the boat is set in the water. Songs from dames and knights are welcome as the boat passes down the river. One member is selected from the service to arch an arrow within their bow, which is to burn the boat with a flaming arrow.
CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE CIRCLE OF ST. EMMA
Although fresh, the membership of the Circle of St. Emma has grown prominent in the past years among the Commonwealth. It is separated between knighted members and those on the path to knighthood, however, all are prominent members of the knightly Circle.
DAMES
Lady Austina Prudence, Baroness of Aldersberg, Shieldmaiden of the Circle of Saint Emma
‘The Affluent’
Throughout her turbulent life Lady Austina has proved time and time again her honor towards cultural advancement and her love of history. Upon her arrival to the Commonwealth of Petra, she aided in the construction of Summerhall and Brasca. Furthermore she’d take the position as secretary to the Regent of the Commonwealth which allowed her to encourage the development of culture through fashion, food, ceremonies, and festivals.
Upon the eve of the 14th of Owyn's Flame 1893, she’d finally be knighted under the Circle of Saint Emma. In light of no leader of the Circle, Austina was also elevated to Shieldmaiden by the regent of the Commonwealth. With this position within the circle filled, squires and wards of all ages were accepted and an age of prosperity began.

A SKINNER’S GUIDE, BY MAL!
-=-
The essential secrets behind the art of pixel placing.
Skinning is hard. And yes, it still is- even after the four years of experience that I have in the art of pixels. Whether it comes down to the shading techniques applied, using color coordination, attempting to defeat a creativity block or even the basics of simply stirring up a base; skinning will always be hard. Constantly, my style is changing along with the consensus of what the absolute ‘correct’ type of skinning should be. However, before I write further into this manual- I’d like to establish a clear point that there is absolutely no correct way to go about making a skin, and there is not a perfect style. You should always skin in the way you deem best looking. Below, I’ve gathered a variety of different kinds of skins from some of the most known and skilled skinners- so that I can make this specific point clear.
Notice something?
Each of the styles has its own personal touch, none the same- but they all look equally just as amazing. There has never been such a thing as a perfect skinner- and by writing this post, I’m not naming myself one either.

SO LET’S BEGIN..
I’m merely here to help. Although skinning has grown into what some may call a business, everyone deserves to have a great looking skin- seeing as many roleplay aspects revolve around what your persona may look like. So! With that, I’ve come together with a couple of skinners to help put together a somewhat detailed and updated guide on some ways you can start your skinning journey! If you’re willing to try and learn, please continue. I will firstly begin with women bases, and shading- because women are great. I love women. A separate guide for men will be in the making shortly after this guide’s release!
-
Women Heads: Color Coordination
When shading my heads, I do it differently each time. But, let me start off with the basics. Firstly, I will go over color coordination and how to go about picking decent skin tones- and then I will start on hair overlay bases! The woman skin I will be focusing on for this guide is my own version of Meg from the Disney Movie, Hercules.
Color coordination plays a huge part in how your skin turns out, and all in all- it’s just important. Finding neutral skin tones and darker skin tones are hard, but I suggest firstly beginning around the more orange area as seen in the first picture below. If you’d like to go for a more’ sickly’ or pale look, I suggest you shift the bar slightly over to the more yellow-ish area. For more melanated looks, shift the circle amidst the triangle to the darker colors! Don’t be afraid to play with shades, it’s the only way you can truly learn. For hair colors- hair color can be absolutely any color you’d like, dyed or not. There’s not a better way to find hair colors. The only color I’d exempt from ease of finding are blonde shades. You never want a blonde color to be too yellow, so I’d recommend finding your blonde shades from somewhere around what is depicted in the second picture below. If looking for a platinum blonde color, adjust the circle amidst the triangle higher towards the white- but not by too much! When we get into hair shading later on, your hair color will become darker- so pick a shade lighter for the sake of the process. If you do not go a few shades lighter, you will have to go back in and lighten your hair after. It’s a waste of time!
-
Women Heads: Bases
Now that a bit of color coordination for the head is done, let’s work on our actual base! Head bases are extremely simple, they practically outline your work and are also important. Because I am recreating Meg, I’ll begin with a more tan shade for her skin- and a brownish / reddish color for her hair! DO NOT forget to check which part of the head that you’re shading! Backwards heads are a pain to fix.
Here is a simple base that I have just to start off with! It’s okay to shift the look of your bases as you work further into your skin! I myself will probably end up saturating bits or lightening / darkening parts I find necessary- do what you think looks best! Hairlines are quite optional too, depending on the hairstyle you’re going for. Mine is skewed left by a pixel, but you can go for a centered, even look or even skew your hairline to the right by a pixel: as seen below.
Now that we have a simple head base done, we can start with a front hair overlay! Again, there is absolutely no correct way to do your hair overlays- they all vary depending on hairstyle! Below, I’ve presented some basic hair overlays highlighted in a lighter color! Feel free to experience with shape yourself, my word is not law.
Meg, my ref for my skin, has a swooped bang on the right side of her face- so that is the look I’ll be going for on my example skin:
Now that our front is finished- let’s start on the side of the head’s overlays! Again, there are so many ways to shape these: but experiment, experiment, experiment! I’ve provided some more examples down below of what some of these can look like!
Because Meg’s hair is slicked into a high ponytail, I’m going to have my hair overlay swoop upwards so that it meets in the back at a higher point on her head. I usually copy and paste the hair overlay on one side to the other using the clone tool. To use it, make sure you apply the settings shown in the picture below, click on the overlay you wish to copy and turn on x-axis- so that it flips over correctly on the other side! Then to paste the piece you’ve copied, simply click.
-
Women Heads: Skin Shading
Congrats! You’ve made it through the easy parts, now it’s time for your worst nightmares. Shading. Let’s start off with shading our base skin! When shading at any part of a skin, I typically use light theory, meaning that the lightest parts should be where light fully hits- and the darkest having little to no light, or being a shadow: as seen below.
However, instead of the light being hit from the side- I imagine it hitting directly the front of the face. So, let’s start with the skin.
Step 1: In a pattern, I shade upwards at the middle with a lighter setting using the HSL Shift Mode tool. I typically shade lighter at 103%, and darker at 97%. One side should be done lighter than the other with an extra click, for a highlighted section of face!
Step 2: As we near closer to the ending of the most highlighted part of the face, add a last three lighter pixels around the lightest highlights!
Step 3: In the outermost corners of the face near the top, darken pixels as much as you’d like! The hair overlay should cover these bits, and it’ll give it a ‘shadow-like’ look! I go in usually at 97% with the HSL Shift Mode tool to do this as well.
Step 4: Add highlights down the middle wherever you’d like, and saturate the two pixels beneath the eyes for a more tan / blushed look! Don’t forget to darken or lighten either side of the lip pixels for a nice spice to your head. Always take your tools and adjust any colors that you don’t like- whether it be skin tone, eye color or lip color! It’s never too late to go back in and fix anything. My reference has more of a red lip, so I will be making that red more into the future using the hue shift. Otherwise, your skin shading is just about finished! Wooo!
IV: Women Heads: Hair Shading
Hair shading is very tough- so read closely for this bit. After going in on my skin, fixing the lip color, and darkening her eyebrows (because eyebrows are usually darker or lighter than hair shade)- she is ready for hair!
Step 1: Start off by traveling upward and outwards darker on the front part of the head. I use the HSL Shift Mode Tool at 97% for this process as well. Your hair tone will become DARKER, so use a lighter shade on your base if you don’t want it to be extremely dark! Below is the first pattern we’ll be going by! Lightest in the middle, darkest on the most outer parts!
Step 2: Where your hair overlay has a gap, add 2 darker lines of pixel on the first layer to make a 'hair part!'
Step 3: Then add highlights on the first layer once more! The first layer is finished. Now, we may move onto the hair overlay.
Step 4: When doing your hair overlay, try shading the lightest INWARDS, where the most light would hit your persona’s face! The outermost parts are my darkest, as you can see- and the most inner parts are the lightest. Use the HSL Shift Mode Tool at 103% to achieve this sort of look! Use this technique in whatever way you’d like, this is simply how I do mine:
Voila!
Step 5: Now that our front is completely finished, we can move on to the sides of our head. This part becomes a little bit tricky, however there are many ways to work around it. Firstly, we are going to drag the colors from the first layer onto the sides, like this! I also take my hair overlay and paste it onto the first layer so that I can clearly see how things are going to look:
Step 6: Next, I lighten the middle parts of the base once- ignoring the overlay bit. Just like this:
Step 7: I trace the outside of the overlay with a darker shading, it makes it pop out more- and highlights the overlay hair! It looks crazy as of now, but don’t fret. Once we get to the next step, things will look much better!
Step 8: Then, we’ll go in at 103% to lighten the upper half of her head! The further you get up the side, the lighter the shading should be- because any sun and / or light will hit that part the most. I have shown this process down below with step by step pictures. The bits that are in red have been lightened.
And as for the lower portion below the blank hair overlay, you’d do the same!
Begin with making bits lighter:
And proceed by making bits darker to finish the first layer!
Step 9: Now the overlay! This bit is quite easy. I shade lighter (like usual) and continue on in using light theory! Here’s the pattern I use for my overlay shading, I won’t go too in depth with this bit because it’s fairly simple. Once you’re finished with the overlay- don’t forget to paste it onto the first layer of the skin beneath it!
Lighten these parts, and go lighter as you travel up! I used 103% and 102% for softer highlights. ^
Then lastly, darken these bits at 97%!
And we are finally done with the sides of her hair! Now, we’re on to the absolutely WORST part of the head. The back.. Till this day, I still struggle with making nice looking backs. So, I’ll be skipping that part in this guide. However, don’t shy away from shooting me a message through discord with questions! I’ve gone out on my own time to complete the back for the sake of finishing up this guide:
BEGINNING THE OUTFITS..
Now that our head is completely finished- it’s just about time to go on and begin with our outfit base! In my opinion, heads are the hardest part of skinning- so if you’ve made it this far.. You’re doing great! There are so many different ways to approach outfit bases. Things like shape and color are very important! The shading of outfits should be the last of worries- for that process is quite easy. Since there are a variety of different ways to approach bases, I’ve asked one of my best friends- and one of many great skinner’s to provide you all with some bases of her own to show as examples. Even so, she’s added her own little spicy touches to the refs I’ve given her. Below are her examples!:
On my end of making bases, I’m going to remain with the skin we’ve been working off of together- and stir up a strong outfit for her! Let us begin.. I’d firstly like to show the ref I’ll be working off of:
As you can tell, there isn’t much shape or detail to this ref- which is why it’ll be extremely easy to copy. We’ll begin with the upper half of her body. Seen below, is the upper part of the base we’ll be working off of. Although it’s quite simple, it’s the shading that will give it all of its glory!
Like the upper-half, the bottom too, looks quite boring. But like aforementioned, this will all change once the shading comes through! You can see the take I chose regarding shapes, and choices I left plain at parts. You can do so much with the shapes during skinning, but always- always stick to what you think looks best.
-
Shading Skin
Step 1: When shading open arms such as these, I first start off with a pattern like such! Lightest parts should be stationed on the very outside of arms, seeing as that is where most light should hit! The darkest parts will sneak in on the most inner-parts of the arm, nearest to the body!
Step 2: Then, I go in with the HSL Shift Mode tool at 97% and darken bits just a little bit more for an extra touch of shadows!
I’ll even additionally go in with the same tool at 103%, and highlight more parts that should be lightened as seen below! The neck shading should go by a pattern such as this, very simple!:
II: Shading Clothing
Now that the skin is out of the way, we may move onto shading parts of the dress! I’ll first start off by repeating myself: USE LIGHT THEORY. It is your bestest friend when skinning!
Step 1: Starting off with the chest area! You want the shiniest parts to be in the center, and darker parts to be towards places with hair- or covered by something. If there are neither, the darkest bits can also go near the outskirts of the chest. Begin with a pattern such as this:
Then proceed on by shading a lighter, and darker bit! Then boom, the upper-chest part is finished!
For the golden buttons and lining beneath the shaded chest part, I’d do the exact same! Light theorryyy..
\
For the middle part of the chest with the light stripes, I start shading by lightning it further as I go higher! Typically the sun hits the first part first, so it would only make sense. Again, parts that are closer to the skin / arms, become darker! I apply this rule to the stripes as well. Note that the less symmetrical that the shading is, the better it looks! Try your BEST to avoid symmetrical and / or even shading when doing clothing. It can make a skin look plain, or boring! This is an exception when it comes to patterns such as flannel or plaid.
And as we near the final portion of this guide, we’ll be finishing up the skin by doing the skirt! Skirts can be troublesome, so tread carefully when going at one.
Step 1: Start off with a pattern such as this! As you can see, I’ve added my own touch to the skirt part by adding a white bit of folds. Don’t shy away from adding your own details to original refs, that’s what makes your skin- YOUR skin! Originality is hard to find nowadays, especially within the skinning community. The shading I’ve laid out below recognizes a fold in the dress, and also a change in material in the middle part. Very simple to start off with!
Step 2: Add shadows on the dress-skirt, and emphasize the highlights by.. Adding more highlights! There’s no specific pattern I follow for this process, but here’s what I ended up with!
And just like that.. We’re just about done with the dress skirt! Let’s talk about clothing overlays to close this manual off!
III. Clothing Overlay
Clothing overlay is so tricky! It is definitely an aspect that makes, or breaks your skin. So what kind of overlay should you be approaching depending on skin? Because I’m working off of a tight dress, we’ll be working with a vague overlay. When doing tighter-clothed skins, the amount of overlay that you need becomes less; and vice versa.
For this specific dress, I only highlighted parts such as buttons, a bit of her chest, etc. When doing the waist of dresses, I tend to delete overlay bits that are at the most outer parts to give the skin a more slim-shape. I additionally remove overlay from stripes / folds to give the skin more of a pop and fuller look! Though for some skins, I casually leave random parts of folds just for a spicy touch- as seen below.
For the lower skirt overlay, I use the same technique mentioned above! Parts where there are folds have no overlay, and I even remove bits of the side of the skirt to make it look more flowy! I do suggest playing with the shapes of overlays, anything can look great if done nicely.
Once the skirt overlay is finished- you’re practically done with the front of your skin! All that is left are the sides, and back- which are relatively easy. Congratulations! Wooo!
YOU’VE MADE IT..
And so that is all of the tips and explanations I have to provide for this guide! Further into the future, I’ll be working on firstly a guide for male skins- and more intricate guides such as one for fur shading, and possibly even guides for species outside of just humans. If you’ve any suggestions, shoot me a DM on discord at: slattador#2003. I do hope this guide somewhat helps those who are struggling in skinning- or willing to learn. Have fun skinning, and until next time!

Originally Maria Frederica von Preussens, and the eldest daughter of the now deceased Eugenie- had sought to ferociously clutch at her stomach 'pon the annunciating of her mother's late death. The color that had once infiltrated the cerulean gazed woman had then diminished, a sickly look materializing itself atop her usual jubilant expression. One that was consumed in that very moment, and concealed until further notice: "Oh, mother. You always spoke of death so fondly, I'd never would have known it would feel so heart-wrenching until GOD reclaimed you." She'd reluctantly utter up at herself, dome drooping groundward in an affix amidst her cries.

Mathilde truly ponders why Odessa, the same woman who did absolutely nothing for the Stassion Courts- deems her existence so important that she begins to call the queen a random once she’s deceased, rather than in her face when she’s alive.. She did not truly want the smoke. It's a shame our Lady Whisperer is such a coward..

The Queen of the Orenians and her Court, stood before the Ivory Gates of Paradisus, c. 1883
TO THE LOYAL DENIZENS OF OREN AND ITS ADJOINED TERRITORIES,
Through tenure of quandary and hitches in such times of dismay betwixt the Kingdom of Oren and its territories, those within the Stassion Court still manage to oversee up-keeping with duty and rendering new implementations within the courts frequently. In repercussions of the manifold of altercations, the significance of concision and shrewdness within the Royal Court's has become patently pertinent when executing exertion into that of written work, duties perpetrated outside of commitment and our daily lives. The court is the heart and glorified core of the Kingdom; and so, it must be conducted virtuously and with prudence so the Lordships of the realm may dutifully follow in its blueprint.
Consequently, the structure within the Court’s should be revised to conform to the solemnity of our times: No longer is it the age of elaboration in which our Court requires a myriad of positions that have gone unfulfilled.
The Court of His Majesty the King, henceforth, will be reduced.
THE QUEEN’S CAMARILLA:
Her Royal Majesty,
The Queen-Consort of Oren
The Queen of Oren has always been dubbed the head of the Royal Court’s, and is entrusted with a clutter of responsibilities. Through her marriage with the King, Her Majesty is regarded as the paramount lady in the realm. Firstly, she is in charge of operating and ensuring the progress of all Astercalia’s; alongside ensuing progress and or noble tours, and hosting noble assemblies. Traditionally, she is also encharged with taking up two female wards beneath her.
His Royal Highness,
The Prince of Providentia
The Prince of Providentia, as heir to the throne, serves as the bridge between age-old institutions of the Kingdom and the forthcoming generation of Orenian lords, militants, and philosophers at large. He takes on a ceremonial role within the courts, being tasked with taking up a single male ward and being encharged as a liaison between the Crown and government.
Her Royal Highness,
The Princess Royal
The Princess Royal serves as the hand of the Queen-Consort and collaborates alongside Her Royal Majesty, the Royal Legate and the Keeper of Ceremonies as a whole. In her lifelong capacity in this office, in the absence of the Queen, the Princess Royal takes on the tasks of Astercalia- and hosts noble assemblies with the Royal Legate and Keeper of Ceremonies. She too, is traditionally encharged with taking up a single lady in waiting and is also tasked with assigning young ladies and lords in waiting.
Her / Her Excellency,
The Royal Legate of Stassion Court
The Royal Legate, alongside the Queen, is tasked with numerous duties within the Royal Courts and is acknowledged by the legal authority of Her Majesty’s court as the paramount officer. He / She, as the de facto governor of the Castle, is encharged firstly with taking up an apprentice, and ensures the fulfilling and deposing of court positions such as servantry. Additionally, he / she is also tasked with providing castle keys to rooms and important doors. With the Keeper of Ceremonies, they are additionally in charge of cultivating an array of fetes and ceremonies to bolster the Orenian Courts alongside overseeing the work of the court staff. In conjunction with the Princess Royal, he or she assigns young ladies and lords in waiting.
His / Her Excellency,
The Keeper of Ceremonies
The Keeper of Ceremonies functions as the primordial agent of celebration in the Castle Stassion works a majority of their time alongside the Royal Legate in hosting events and putting together city and palatial events. They set the criteria for event curator
His / Her Excellency,
The Court Secretariat
The Court Secretariat works in conjunction with Her Royal Majesty specifically, aiding in her writing and conjuring up original and newfangled covers of the Queen’s Gazette.
THE HIERARCHY AT STASSION COURT:
-
The Royal Family
From the very beginning, each member of the Royal Household has been notorious for building a blueprint of devoting time to remarkable acts of piety and charity. Reverence for religion has always been a major principal in that of the resplendent family. With this, the Royal women of House Novellan are entrusted with keeping at pace with shifts in modern fashion, and being foremost examples of present vogue. Indisputably does the Royal Family uphold certain expectations that shepherds the direction that presents the best of the Kingdom. They all should work with charity, and establish causes of importance to the realm. Upon achieving an age of maturity, they are entitled to their own household secretaries- handpicked, or selected by the King and Queen.
-
The Noble Houses
Noble houses of the Kingdom contribute majorly to the Stassion Courts, and will now be tasked with implemented drafts. From each aristocratic house within Oren, a single person should be drafted and lended in aid of fulfilling positions necessary in the courts- whether this be a chosen member, or handpicked by the Queen’s Camarilla.
-
Courtiers and Staffing
The courtiers and staff of the court uphold the majority of duties amidst the general members of the Stassion Court. They are expected to fulfill all assigned tasks to the best of their capabilities and must uphold an abundance of responsibility for their duties. With diligence and perseverance, one may be able to gradually climb out of the minor roles at court and into that of more distinctive positions.
PRECEDENTS OF STASSION COURT:
As promulgated by the 1876 missive:
SpoilerLadies in Waiting & Handmaids
Managed by the Royal Legate, an entourage of the female members of the royal household act as both advisors and attendants to the Queen. They write and deliver letters on behalf of their lady, especially invitations and other correspondence. Within the ranks of the Queen’s mistresses is a small hierarchy, arranged both by social standing in the court itself and the Queen’s personal liking to her different mistresses. The hierarchy is as follows;
Lady of the Bedchamber - head lady-in-waiting, the queens right hand (usually a high standing lady, although it could be anyone the queen takes a liking to in high society)
Mistress of the Wardrobe - curator of the queen’s closet
Ladies of the Household - married ladies, countesses and baronesses.
Maids of Honour - beginning spots for unmarried women at courts.
Master of the Adriatic Court - The Lady or Lord Privy Seal
Manages the events of the adriatic court that happen every four years within the Adriatic Tent. Coordinates hunts so that both non-hunters and hunters will be entertained, as well as many other events pertaining to the nobility. Can also be the chamberlain, but if so desired they can be someone else.
Court Tutor
The Court Tutor is a job of utmost importance, in charge of educating the future generations of the Orenian nobility, along with the royal family themselves. They are to ensure that the children of the next generation are well versed in proper courty and worldly affairs, along with proper etiquette and manners. There can be multiple court tutors to dish out within our vast population of growing children.
General Etiquette
While the expectations of etiquette are to be taught and managed by the Keeper of Ceremonies, we recommend that the courtiers follow these basic rules to avoid embarrassment and ruin within the court.
♔ Courtier must respect their superiors within court at all times and address them by their proper titles when conversing.
[See Titles & Addressment].
♔ A respectful demeanor, particularly how one carries themselves, must be maintained at court.
♔ Courtiers of the palace are prohibited from wearing any diadem, crown, circlet, or tiara if they are not members of the royal family. The only exception to this is during wedding ceremonies or a debutante, where the daughters of dukes and counts may wear small tiaras and sons of dukes and counts may wear circlets. Courtiers may never outshine the Queen’s attire, for it is seen as discourteous and disrespectful and such would be asked to remove it accordingly.
In the Royal Presence
♔ Courtiers must not touch the King, Queen or the immediate family of the King and Queen
(brothers, sisters, and children).
♔ All must stand with a countenance of utmost respect when either the King or Queen enter within a room, until they are seated. Only after then may everyone else be seated.
♔ Those of the court must avoid turning their backs on the royal family, as it is seen as disrespectful.
♔ Avoid the use of nicknames regarding or referring to the royal family outside of private settings unless otherwise permitted.
♔ Courtiers must curtsy or bow at the beginning and end of the conversation and address them by their title properly.

Lorena Anastasie weakly thrummed at herself from the crevices of her tailory in the Petra, an emotionally dispelling mechanism she'd resort to in her to be, long tenure of grief. Through her tear-glazed and distorted vision, her crane plunged within the depths of her own frail arms; and those pale digits she'd adorn- layered in minor cuts and blisters, remained tightly affixed to the very letter her mother vacated for her. Something within her urged her to opt not to search through the parchment's confines, a dwelling fear- perhaps, the kind of fear the youth must face when they lose their guardian in a large crowd. The fear of abandonment.
"She always feared her legacy would cease in its prosperity. . and she'd never know that her sacrifices are what's aiding it in its everlasting tenure of growth- and success. I'd only hope she'd continue to be proud of us." Lorena murmured through the most softest of cries.
