  1. can you clarify it a little bit more i'm not sure what you mean
  2. Welcome back :) if you're ever looking for some roleplay, feel free to reach out at un-w#9099. I'd be more than happy to RP with you!!
  3. no because the entire "they took too long to reply!!!1" thing is just you strawgrasping and looking for a reason to look victimized. who cares if they took more than 12 hours to respond? "you should've replied faster instead of leaving everyone to freak tf out while they waited" as if you were having a panic attack because you cared so much about an online player's ban from a minecraft game "they should've had a pre-typed response!!1" is also extremely silly as well and I shouldn't even need to explain why this goes for everyone else who is complaining about how long a response took btw
  4. stop acting like you got shot because you didn't see a response quick enough

  6. LOTC is a server that seems like it's overwhelmingly filled with negativity, pessimism, and cynicism. If you've been playing the server for more than a month, it's very likely you've been exposed to some of the server's many blemishes and flaws, whether you've experienced them first hand, browse the forums, or heard about a friend's experience. Staff critique, the annual "admin scandal," whistleblowing, etc. are all common-place to many established players. Although it's very true that LOTC is a server prone to these sorts of detriments, this thread is in no way intended to devalue nor deflect from them. Instead, I'd like for this thread to allow players the opportunity to shine some light on the server amid what feels like the drag of incessant loathing and animosity. I don't care what you talk about, only that it avoids the drag of pessimism. I'll start: I've been playing LOTC for roughly 6 years. Before I joined in Vailor, I had spent much of my time on cheap creative-plot servers doing what I believed to be "peak roleplay." So of course, by the time I joined LOTC, I was both immature and had little to no grasp on actual roleplay in a moderated, restricted environment with other grounded roleplayers. Needless to say, I was a pain in the ass. If it wasn't for the people who put up with me, I very likely I would have quit a long time ago. Some of you may remember that, when I was 14, I became the NL of Sutica in Atlas. Largely guided by players such as @Keefy @SaviourMeme and @SeventhCircle, I admittedly believe those 8 months were the catalyst of my anti-nation sentiment, but that's a conversation for another day. Although it certainly came with its own pressure and frustration, I'm still a firm believer that it was the greatest learning experience I could've been offered on the server, but it's simultaneously something I never want to do again. Flash forward to Almaris. Some time in April of 2021, I had the pleasure of meeting a new player by the name of Bunny/Fang. We very quickly became friends, and I had decided to play a snow elf (which I still currently play!) alongside them. We managed to create a tightly knit bloodline involving players such as @Epistile@Synasthima @_Leyd@MunaZaldrizoti and others, which cultivated some of the most enjoyable, narrative-driven RP I've had on the server in the last few years at that point. The RP I partook in helped me improve both my writing and creativity, and I could not be more thankful. Now, I spend my time largely pursuing player-interaction narratives and storylines from Port Avluk on the coast of Eastfleet, alongside players such as @BobBox@Frott and @Kuila, and had the pleasure of attending one of @Kujo's events in Acre yesterday, alongside the others who attended. To me, the beauty of our LOTC lies in its player interaction and the ability to pursue virtually any character dynamic, narrative, or storyline you can think of. The beauty lies in the player ability to learn from those around you in both attitude, writing, and story, on top of a decades worth of OOC and RP history. If you spend your time around those who value the spirit of RP and cooperation, you yourself will drastically improve. Surround yourself with people who care about how they interact with others on the server, not people who go out of their way to disrupt and impede. With that out of the way, here's a list of prompts you can answer if you're struggling to find the words, alongside anything else you'd like to talk about: What's your favorite niche of RP? Who is someone you admire or look up to on LOTC, whether or not they play anymore? What's your most memorable RP encounter? What's your favorite place to RP at? Why do you enjoy the current community you play in? How has LOTC grown and developed since you first started playing? And last but not least, Why do you play LOTC?

Aqua - pretty alright, typical for elves, specifically high elves or dark elves 8/10

Blue - decent, kind of hard to read with shaders, not seen many people with this 6/10

Dark Aqua - shamefully i have not seen many people with this either, actually a underrated chat colour 9/10

Dark Blue - possibly the WORST chat colour, hard to read with and without shaders and just makes rping awful with this colour 1/10

Dark Gray - similar to dark blue but not as bad of an offender, very very rarely see people with this colour, typically its dark magic players that use it. 3/10

Dark Green - used by a lot of highlander humans, wood elves and dwarves typical for humans in agricultural settings. pretty decent and common chat colour. 7/10

Dark Purple - despite being called "dark" it is quite vibrant, another common one, this one is used a lot by dark elves and dark magic characters. 8/10.

Dark Red - for the edgelords, whoever is emoting at you with this is either a knight/soldier, a bandit or a norlander. no inbetween. pretty standard. 7/10.

Gold - decent chat colour, feels kind of flat in my opinion compared to some of the other ones but gets the job done. 6/10

Green - really good chat colour but imo is too vibrant sometimes, personally i use this one but i hadn't put much thought into using it i just like using uncommon ones. i dub thee, traveller green. 7/10

Light Purple - makes you look like a pink tag and i have to double check every time you emote with this, stop using it please. 4/10

Red - similar to dark red but slightly less edgy. used by a lot of people. 6/10.

Yellow - another very underrated one but suffers from a lot of the problems that "green" does too, never personally seen this one used ever so i might start using this after i press submit on this. 8/10.

  9. [!] Parchments are seen throughout Almaris, plastered to trees, walls, and notice boards alike. You’ve found the parchment, and you’ve read thus far I allude to a common prose, one hardly bizarre You understand now, you ought to sit Now comes the challenge: prove your wit I find myself deafened, obscured by vice Never to hear heavenly choir, not even for a price Here I stand, in the vestige of day Blinded by viscera and grime going every which way Words ensnared by sin and eternal damnation, No longer salvageable by mere liberation My riddle is rather simple Devoid of obscure content and symbols Should you discover my intent, should you find yourself content Bring yourself to the coast of once-blight, that is where you will present

I'd say to add a wilderness system of some sort. Tiles next to a nations region tile have no region owner but cannot be built upon. Any tiles which are not directly next to a claimed tile are free build (with the rule that there can't be griefing and builds that are abandoned after a certain number of time will be removed or turned to ruins). An event mechanic can also be added which requires nations or upstart settlements to complete a difficult event storyline in order to claim previously unclaimed tiles.

  11. absolutely abysmal when will people, mods especially, realize that just because roleplay follows after OOC plotting, does not make it legitimate? in what world does that constitute as "legit RP" after you spend hours in a GC and DMs fleshing out every corner if your plan before going "ok hop on and we can do the rp rq" we've seen this happen before and we're seeing it happen again
  12. A loose parchment floats to Castiel's feet. He bends, lifting it from the taint of mud before reading. He speaks to a companion. "At least- it is not me, but I'm curious. This is... rather uncharacteristic of our friend. He oft keeps to himself. I can only imagine what event would've prompted such a demand from him."

  14. Hey there friend As Evonpire said above, your chances of acquiring magic of any kind by asking OOCly on the forums is slim. I've found that holy mages are the ones that can often be open to taking in new students if sought RPly, so I'd recommend doing that. Or, you could make an RP post detailing that your character seeks magic, as long as its done tastefully and in good spirit. Think of ways you can incorporate your characters desire for magic into their narrative, rather than a simple "because magic is cool." Best of luck :) if you have any questions, feel free to reach out at un-w#9099
  15. mfers be like "I don't care about lotc" then continuously stalk the forums and discord servers and make death threats when they dont get their ratmen CA race
  16. the irony of this right after you say that the ST deserve to be shot in the head because you can't play a rat CA on minecraft
  17. What's your favorite niche of RP? Least favorite, if any? A memorable RP interaction (such as a really cool unplanned CRP fight, an event, etc, just anything that you find "memorable") that you're fond of? Favorite color? :)

  21. nobody's shitting on adele. ppl have been so insistent that people are treating her horribly for making the plugin when I've only seen the opposite?? most if not all of the criticism in these replies are pretty relaxed and offer a fair explanation as to why the plugin doesn't sit right w them and what their concerns are, and even any discussion i've seen over discord has been wholly focused on critiquing the plugin rather than attacking adele herself nobody hates adele, adele is great, people just aren't a fan of the plugin and there's nothing wrong with that
