Today officially marks 15 years since the start of “International Transgender Day of Visibility”. We’re here to celebrate our trans and nonbinary folk, honoring them. We hear you, we see you, and you’re doing great. This is for you. As a fellow nonbinary, I'm extremely grateful for it all. On March 31st, 2009 - the day of visibility was created by a transgender activist named Rachel Crandall. She grew tired and disappointed with the lack of recognition for the trans community. At the time, the community had “Transgender Day of Remembrance”, mourning their lost ones. To shine light and uplift her people, she created “Transgender Day of Visibility”. Over the years, the day gained attraction, being celebrated all over the world.
