I have mixed feelings. I think quite a few things weren't fully developed (post-Ozai Fire Nation, why General Iroh isn't an FN general, under-utilised Katarra, Toph and Zuko etc) but overall I thought it was a pretty good finale and overall a good series to follow TLA.

It helped represent the passing of the torch, however. How the olden heroes are becoming outdated in this new and complicated world.
