  2. The position of GOVERNESS is henceforth known as the LOREMASTER as per the EDUCATION EDICT of 1975.
  3. THE EDUCATION EDICT DAS BILDUNGSEDIKT | THE EDUCATION EDICT Issued by THE PRINCESS OF MINITZ and BARONESS OF SIGRADZ In the year of our Lord 1975 ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR, HEED THESE WORDS THAT FLOW FORTH FROM DER HEIDEPALAST, just as we have heeded your words. The way of the Reinmaren is the way of Moot, so we have heard the counsel of you sons and daughters of Reinmar and the burghers of the realm to draft this edict. Let it be known that this is the People’s Court. Education of our young is of vital importance. To fail to pass on the traditions to the next generation is to doom a culture to a slow but certain death. I. FROM WHERE LEARNING TAKES PLACE We Reinmaren have no need of a schoolhouse. Why should our children sit in neat rows with their slate and chalk, presided over by a scowling headmistress, when our forefathers learned of the old ways amongst the forests and rivers? I.I No dedicated schoolhouse shall be constructed within the Principality of Reinmar. I.II Lessons on history shall be instructed at a relevant monument, building, or statue, depending on the historical subject. I.III Lessons on runes shall be instructed at a runestone within the Ferdenwald, or within the circle of runestones. I.IV Religious education shall be received in the Temple of Waldenic Martyrs or elsewhere in the Temple District as necessary. I.V Practical learning such as hunting, fishing, woodwork, farming, and so forth, shall take place in an appropriate area to that skill. I.VI Reading, writing, and arithmetic shall be instructed within the home, or the library of the Heidepalast or Temple District. II. FROM WHICH DISCIPLINES WE SHALL LEARN This word curriculum is foreign to us sons and daughters of Reinmar. Der Heidehof may be the Court of the People, but it is not our place to prescribe what must and must not be taught. This is the place of parents and Reinmaren elders. To create a curriculum is to deprive the realm of differing minds and varied opinions. We can, however, provide guidance on the subjects parents may choose to instruct their children in. THE TENETS OF LEARNING II.I History and Legends II.I.I This shall be the history of the Reinmaren, from the days of Theoderic and Gelimar to the Modern Era. II.I.II Frankish history shall not be widely taught, but the Frank Mogurix and his descendants are granted permission to pass on Frankish history to those who come to reside in the homestead granted to him by the Princes in Reinmar. II.II Religion II.III Farming II.IV Hunting and Gathering II.V Riding II.VI Combat II.VII Craftsmanship II.VII.I Cooking and Baking II.VII.II Woodworking II.VII.III Horsehair braiding II.VII.IV Smithing II.VII.V Tailoring II.VIII Literacy and Numeracy II.VIV Healing II.VIV.I Lessons on healing and medicine are permitted only by those who are physicians of St. Johann. II.X Social Norms THE PHYSICIANS OF ST. JOHANN II.XI In the interests of the health and healing knowledge of the realm, the Physicians of St. Johann are bid to revive themselves under the leadership of Head Physician Father Gregor, or whichever physician he chooses to succeed him. III. FROM WHOSE LIPS KNOWLEDGE FLOWS III.I Children must be instructed by someone who has been blooded as a son or daughter of Reinmar. Let none instruct our children in the ways of the Outlander. III.II Religious schooling must be conducted by a man or woman of the cloth. III.III Parents have the foremost duty of educating their children, followed secondarily by Reinmaren elders. Let no man or woman shirk this duty. III.IV This Edict hereby changes the position of Governess in the Heather Court to the position of Loremaster. III.IV.I Beneath the office of the Loremaster shall serve the Runekeeper, tasked with upholding the ancient tradition of reading and carving Reinmaren runes. III.IV.II Beneath the office of the Loremaster shall serve the Runesinger, tasked with upholding the ancient tradition of storytelling and skaldic performance. III.V Formal educators are to don the garments of the loremaster, marked by a bronze brooch carved with the image of a runestone circle. IV. WARDSHIP BENEATH THE HEATHER COURT IV.I The Heather Court shall take on wards who have not yet reached their fourteenth nameday. IV.I.I Some exceptions may be made, particularly for those who are not yet blooded but seek to be. IV.II Children of the Princely Family may ward under each of the offices on rotation. IV.II.I Non-Princely children may only ward under one office. IV.III Each of the offices of the Heather Court shall have a limit of one ward. IV.III.I This number excludes those wards of the Princely Family who are on rotation. WER RASTET, DER ROSTET HER ROYAL HIGHNESS, ADALFRIEDE of HEXENWALD, Princess of Minitz HER LADYSHIP, FREDERICA, Baroness of Sigradz, Seneschal of the Heather Court
  4. "Helun... Yto steta ax nor my laht." A regal drow knelt before the portrait of a bygone Primarch. To paint and delusion he explained: "LYE YX A'KAZAT!"
  5. Hello all! I’m Zanael, some of you may know me as Patches the King of the Musin. For me when I first joined LotC I was so happy with the fact I’d found a place where I could do D&D styled Roleplay on Minecraft. Finding out there was a couple of races that wasn’t the standard fantasy races made me intrigued. I started on this server as a Human, tried a High Elf, then one day decided to make a Musin. At the time when I made my Musin, I noticed there was very little players playing as the micefolk, and that they didn’t have a place to call their own on Aevos. So after seeing that I made it my mission to build a Musin vassal, and so Babblebrook was made. What I love about Musin is the sense of community I’ve encountered, everyone has been so helpful and nice in helping build up our culture and town and from that I saw a rise in Musin CA’s being made. Now I only play a Musin. what I like about Musin: * The kind and helpful community: Those who will help new Musin players make a CA, get a skin etc. * The whimsical adventure RP: due to our love of adventures and legends, having Musin go out and travel to new places and see new things is really neat. There’s no politics or stress really needed since there’s enough of that with every other race. It’s a way to actually unwind. * the random ooc/ irp messages saying how cute my musin is or how much people love musin. It puts a smile on my face. Things I wish would Change: * The random irp/ooc hate towards musin: With the good times, there’s been some bad times where Musin have been the target of hate/discrimination because what? We’re small mice people? Or we’re players who like playing as such? It’s never really explained. * People saying they’ll make a musin CA and then never play as said Musin: I’ve met a lot of people as Patches: the king of the Musin and people have told me they’d like to make a Musin. this makes me happy since it helps build our community, but what I’ve noticed is that effort is made to help with CA struggles, make a skin for the new player etc then either they play the Musin for a day or never play it. I’d love it if people who wanted to play a Musin were a bit more committed to it. (Irl stuff considered if it stops them playing.) What I’d like to see in the future for Musin: * Musin themed items: every other culture have their own style of rp items so why shouldn’t we? * Musin shops/ trades: Agreeing with DrFong I think there could be more trades that Musin can go into. * Musin players who want to take part in Babblebrook roleplay and to make it feel like a proper town. I want to thank anyone who reads this and wish them a great day/night!
  6. Barrowlord Fornotos, Herald of Strife merrily frolicks through the Xionist-owned fields of corn hidden deep beneath Lumbridge, blissfully ignorant of the corn-impoverished farmers of Braevos.
  7. John sat outside of Kositz, cigar dangling from his lip as he read the letter fresh off the desk. A small bit of peace in an ocean of grief - it was something. The man tucked it into his coat pocket and rose back up, walking through the doors to head to his widower's old room.
  8. An imp stirred around in ire within the writhing the pits of the horrific realm, his home, the Moz. After having been slain he wouldn’t remember his slayer but couldn’t help but feel as if his death was unique and that whatever killed him hopefully remembered his face or if he died by falling down the impossibly long stairs “DAAL WILL FREE HIMSELF IN MONTHS MONTHS! GASHADOOKIEKURO WAIT FOR MEEEEEE!”
  9. There is shouting in the dungeon. Deia stands by the door, amidst the blood and muck, and watches as it stains her shoes, stains her. The breeze brushes past to the cells and back out against her spine and she’s so very cold. Everything is cold without the Queen. In the shadow of her death, they call her the White Flame. They call her venerated and a Queen of the people (what is left of the people) and they speak of her kindness, her generosity, her love, as a mistake to learn from. Red pools at her feet like water and she feels the brush of fingertips against her ankle, the first of a trail of corpses that will lead her to her sister. She doesn’t have to look to know their wounds, nor that they will ever flow, an endless fountain from a slit throat, a pierced heart, a skewered eye. She doesn’t have to look to know there are dozens. For her. For them. For love. The gruesome sound of a glaive against flesh makes her open her eyes. When she turns towards the wail that follows, the dungeon door is stainless, there is no weight in her hands, and Amaya is still dead. Look, a voice demands, at what she has wrought.
  10. Dhen looked at the missive, simply saying “John’s insulting poem must of been too good. She is taking the ones he loves because she can’t make a better song. I must pen one for John to join the cause.” The thing then turned around and set to work writing down the next big Balian hit

  12. Peregrine sat upon a stool in the corner of their shared space, her head bowed and hands clasped upon her knees. Her wide eyes stared at nothing as she learned of the demise of her one and only student; the fallen Prince she uncovered from the ashes. He had risen like a phoenix, his flame snuffed out too soon. "I'm ready to see them bleed." Her fists tightened, the sapphire scars marring her skin sparking with lightning. There was no sadness in the heart of the Martyr Undying, but a rage that could only be cooled with blood.

  17. A post stapled to Dyonne's door, and for anyone to read, "While the Island of Nevaehlen does indeed contain within its walls a military known as the Greenblade, it is insufficiently organised. The Greenblade lacks structure to command its forces in the field and specific unit elements that would help lead it into success. This results in its inefficiency and lack of ability to scale into a large fighting force in the given moment, which would be remedied by the following recommendations: institution of officers and the institution of small-unit tactics. Both would remedy the lacking structure and elements, allowing for distinguished successes on the field. The institution of officers would allow for the further structuring of the military into allowing objectives to be determined and achieved rapidly. The benefits of a proper officer corps are numerous and shall briefly be listed here. An officer can provide efficient decision-making as they will be the sole individual in control of the unit instead of many voices speaking outwards in the field of battle; an officer can force the upholding of unique professionalism & ethical conduct stands by being the one that the unit must answer to; an officer, through their specialised knowledge and expertise, can effectively plan & adapt to their evolving threat environment; an officer can preserve institutional knowledge by training & mentoring junior officers; and finally, an officer can maintain morale and cohesion by assessing risks & making informed decisions for the betterment of the health of the squadron. Furthermore, a cohesive officer corps ensures unity of command, where decisions are centralised and communicated clearly with all other command elements. To speak as to the implementation of the officer corps, Dyonne has brought up that the Vigilants may act as a military officer corps in their own right. I disagree that this is the best course of action, as the Vigilants seem to also have day-to-day civilian governmental responsibilities that would be detracted from. Furthermore, in historical pasts, introduction of civilian leadership to operational command tends to lead to conflicts & confusion of authority within the ranks, leading to a detraction of a clear military hierarchy. It also should be noted that maintaining a clear distinction between civilian and military leadership would preserve public trust in both institutions - ensuring that the military serves the Vale as a whole, rather than any particular interest group. I, instead, believe that we should have the Vigilants setting goals for the military to achieve and oversight to extend that the military works within the framework of accountability to the populace, whilst initially recommending individuals to promotion for the officers. The institution of small-unit tactics will also benefit the Vale’s populace in its entirety. These would indicate groups of four to six people led by the officers as discussed. These squadrons would be trained to assault, defend, and work towards objectives. These squadrons would be led by an officer, supported with a medic, use a specific alchemist for base of fire, and have a scouting element to it. This would have to be implemented after the officer corps. It is the recommendation of this memo that we start organising the Greenblades using proper military officers that would be schooled entirely in small-unit tactics under the instruction of myself and Ahren, as a result of our experience in both." 18. Receiving the letter, the Uruk would read it before reciting a prayer to Kor himself. Once he read the contents of the letter, he would grab a shovel and walk over to the shore of the lake surrounding Caza de Lur. "Latz will be remembered ziztur agh mi will make zhure latz get a proper burial." He solemnly says to himself, as he begins to dig a grave and prepare for the burial of his good friend.
  19. Long ago amidst the fields outside of the Jade State, a military dictator remembered the images of the crying goat surrounded by occultist iconography and how potent power had been offered to that long lost friend who camped in those fields. ”Souka, they must think they’re in Yopinawa kakakaka!”
  20. Holy Ser MacSkaul would sit in his study while reading the missive. As he finished reading he would pray for the dead before going to check up on his wounded men.
  21. [!] A strange, deranged parchment makes its way into libraries around Aevos. It lacks a name, a title, and everything save for the text between the illustrations. The Survival of the Fittest is nature’s most fundamental law. All progress is derived from it; it compels the wild creatures to be stronger, and it compels civilizations to be greater. It mercilessly culls what is weak and rewards what is strong. For all of existence, sentient life has been bound by this law. Because of this, reality is trapped in a never ending cycle of violence. What was weak becomes strong, and what is strong is made weak in the face of new strengths. And thus, even the strong will eventually fall victim to the cruelty of this world. Existence is filled with suffering, but it is also filled with beauty. If only we could break from the cycle of evolution and find a new way to progress - one that prioritizes beauty and minimizes suffering. The deities seem greater than us in every way, but they too are chained to this cycle. Verily, they are chained even more than we are! For they have fixed natures, and therefore can only progress their might and control. We, however, possess flexible natures, and are capable of rebelling against our own vices. Because of this, we alone possess the power to rebel against the cruelty that otherwise saturates nature. Individuals must first learn to forsake all desires save the desire for the greater good. Yes, they must not be selfish, but they must also give up their reliance on families and tribes and cultures. Dedication to one’s tribe leads to hatred against outsiders and irrational loyalty to insiders. The cycle of violence in descendants is primarily not promulgated by individual selfishness, but by the desire to avenge a “victimized” group. Read. Listen. Seldom are wars raged because “our nation is great and ought to control the world!” Instead, a nation will produce a list of the crimes committed against them by an enemy as an excuse to war with them. Citizens perceive their nations’ enemies not as merely weak, but as evil. Nonetheless, nations are crucial to the pursuit of progress. Through the enforcement of laws, governments are able to prevent individuals from hurting each other for selfish gain, thus forcing citizens to form symbiotic relationships. Governments are also capable of drastically influencing their citizen’s beliefs, and thus present a powerful mechanism by which faith in The Greater Good can be promoted. Ideally, a nation wishing to devote itself to The Cause will enforce strong laws against every sort of disadvantageous behavior, be it unauthorized meddling with darkspawn, physical violence, laziness, or harmful beliefs. The nation must not, however, use violence to enforce these laws. The reason for this is twofold; if violence is normalized, the state will not exercise discretion in using it, and the state will inevitably cause more suffering than blessing. Furthermore, violence leads to the people losing trust in their government, and it gives foreign nations fodder for negative propaganda. Thus, a nation should prioritize utilizing the forces of peer pressure, propaganda, and religious fervor to reshape the public’s belief system. Next, should an individual prove to be troublesome, drugging, verbal struggle sessions, Only when a citizen demonstrates that they are utterly uncontrollable should physical punishment, imprisonment, or execution be considered. Though again, violence should not be made a spectacle lest the public become outraged or foreign nations start to judge. The reason why the state must be so aggressive in promoting The Cause is that, despite it being the only good cause, it is a deeply unpopular cause. It seeks to upheave descendent nature. Thousands of years of natural selection has led to our natures being deeply short-sighted. We are most often selfish, caring only about the needs and wants of ourselves or our family and friends. Many are less selfish, but still tribalistic, caring only about the victory and glory of their country or religion. Even altruistic motives are flawed; we despise any amount of descendent sacrifice, even if it is required for long-term progress. The long-term process of creating a utopia in the distant future is too tedious to capture the instinctual hearts of descendants; the state must play a role in keeping these brutish desires in check, and in inspiring citizens to pursue the highest goal. Once such a government has been established, it must ensure that its nations’ internal affairs remain as close to utopia as possible. This will mean that the government does not merely focus on long-term goals, but that it also devotes a significant amount of energy towards strengthening its economy and military and increasing its population. Once strong, the nation must set its eyes on expanding its power, though not through direct wars of conquest. It should ally itself with other nations that are likely to go to war and win. Then, in fighting for foreign causes, it can win for itself land or resources. This allows the ideal nation to expand its borders without that expansion appearing as its only goal. Should the nation find itself an actual enemy, economic, information, and population warfare should be considered before actual violence. Eventually, we can hope that such a nation will provide a beacon of hope to reality. It shall set aside all morals and tribes and desires for the Greater Good. It shall be stalwart in its pursuit of eternal utopia, and it shall give those of us who long for a perfected world hope and peace.

  23. The Recently crowned Lich comes to hear of these deaths, a cackle resonating throughout its ribcage, as tenebrous smog leaks from its form. You shall rise once more, Radmir"
