To a point, the mages guild is able to enchant weapons while others cannot.

I have recently became an apprentice in the mages guild under Kilgrim. How does is work that only mages can enchant? And is there a specific rank needed to be able to enchant?

If you have tried to put down one it say something along the lines of ask a ascended or mage to do it for you, or something like this. Since were mages we unlock the ability to do this

It does that because it's detecting you being in combat mode. It's annoying, but it's needed for Nexus Combat to only activate when you're in combat.
