  1. The Fuentistas Resolve Scribed by Prescott Sands [!] Artist depiction of Jose Fuentes during his bout of illness. It has been three years since I’ve been left bedridden due to a bout of sudden illness that was plagued upon me after the Battle of Westmark. Since that time, there have been many things that I’ve disagreed with, but cannot find myself able to act upon due to my unstable condition. For this, I apologize for my inability to properly bear my duties as the Margrave of Coracoa. Yet now I will not bite my tongue. The recent accusations against the Paladins of Xan, a faithful ally of the Mother Church in their crusade against darkspawn, is blasphemous. Nonetheless, putting a bounty on faithful allies of the Church is simply irresponsible of the Regiment, though it seems this action was done by a militia. I can assure you that the Colonel, my brother Pedro Fuentes, would never go as far as to do such a heretical action. Thus, I, Jose Fuentes, hereby demand these actions to ensure that Hyspia’s reputation will not be tarnished: I. House Fuentes and their followers, henceforth called ‘Fuentistas’, demand the removal of the bounty on the Paladin accused of trespassing and burglary. II. House Fuentes and the Fuentistas ask the Crown for a report to be published based on the findings of possible Darkspawn lying in wait in Hyspia. III. House Fuentes and the Fuentistas ask for a formal apology to be issued to the Paladins of Xan for the slander done on behalf of government representatives. If these demands aren’t met, the Fuentistas will begin a series of protests that will negatively impact the region. This includes, but is not limited to; Refusal of taking up arms, Refusal to pay taxes, Refusal to do duties within the nation. This will not stand. Signed, 𝔍𝔬𝔰𝔢 𝔉𝔲𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔰 Margrave of Coracoa, Knight of Hyspia

II.05 - If an heir is not named within a will then succession of the Peerage shall be determined through Absolute Primogeniture, where the eldest child of the Peer shall inherit the titles as heir presumptive. Article III - On the Obligations of Peers III.01 - All Peers shall swear fealty to the Hyspian Monarch once they have been granted Peerage, or, if once a successive legitimate monarch takes the throne. III.02 - All Peers must rally their banners in support of Hyspia and her Crown. III.03 - Peers must have at least two members of their family serving the government, courts or the military in some official capacity. III.04 - Peers or their families must host an event within Hyspia at least once every three Saint’s Weeks. III.05 - A Peer may not move their family to another realm without express approval from the Hyspian Crown. If in the event of emigration, all titles belonging to the Peer shall be relinquished to Crown, unless otherwise expressly exempted by the Hyspian Crown. THE UNION OF Elaina Von Berkhoven and Josef Karl Denodado Acciones, No Palabras "Though the spring flower withers and the fruit of the tree falls to the ground, my word lasts into the eve of the world, and the fruit of virtue cannot rot" (Virtue 3:2) [!] A painting of Josef Karl Denodado and Elaina Von Berkhoven A History of Companionship The seeds of the bride and groom's relationship started when they were just pen pals, writing letters to each other before the start of the eternal freeze in the kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. As time passed, Josef gained the confidence to brave the harsh chold to visit his childhood friend, Elaina, at her home in the Ducal territory of Reinmar. After years of fantastic friendship, Elaina asked josef for a courtship, having been given the blessing of the then Baron Denodado. The pair courted for 6 years, until while in the tavern of La Dorada, Elaina stood up from her chair after a nice meal and took a knee to propose to Josef and proclaim her eternal love. Though taken aback in surprise and tears of joy falling from his cheeks, Josef answered joyously with an excited "Yes!" During and after the attack on La Dorada by an unknown force of the undead, Lord Josef stayed by his love's side through it all. He cared for her with everything he had when Elaina Von Berkhoven had lost her forearm from the attack. Nothing has stopped this pairs love in any capacity, despite everything that has happened to the duo since they first met. 10. Ryba, It has been 10 years since you left your children in my care, with no regard for their safety, or their lives. 10 years since you shouted at me for how you hated our family, and how you were forced to live the life you chose for yourself. 10 years since I went to the courts of Aaun and gained guardianship of the children you had abandoned. 10 years since you threatened my life for attempting to form a healthy familial relationship with your new wife. 10 years since you ran away with said wife to a small village. 10 years since you abandoned your post in the Marian Retinue. 10 years since you ran away from your responsibilities, your family, and those you hold dear with no explanation. I was holding out hope that you would return. I wanted to tell you that your son, Aleksandr, is now married and has four beautiful children, the oldest of which is now 6. I wanted to share with you my son's engagement. I wanted to share with you my daughter's countless victories in battle, I wanted to share a cup of tea with you, and tell you how much you have missed since you had left. But you never wrote, nor ever showed your face in Haense or Hyspia. It is for these reasons that you, Ryba, are hereby disowned from our House. Ryba, your name from this point forth, should you ever go by a name that is not your wife's, shall be Ryba the Black. 12. Princess Verónica Weiss Circa 147 S.A. Verónica had been within the courtyard of the Valdev palace before they had gone to meet with their allies on the battlefield. She kept to herself on the side, a knot in her gut. She watched as everyone was chummy with each other. She didn’t offer much in terms of conversation with anyone, it wasn’t that she was being offensive, it was just that those there would rather interact with others. This was her normal, and she had accepted that. Granted, earlier in the day, she spoke with Mikhail and had a rather touching conversation with him. Other than that, she wordlessly went along with everyone as they headed out. During the Battle of the Westmark, Verónica had fought along her fellow soldiers with pride, helping slay the Veletzian foes where she could, and following orders within the ranks. She had been struck by a lance on a retreat called, which had knocked the wind out of her, reducing her stamina for the rest of the fight due to her age.. Yet she pressed on. During one of the times they had fallen back into the treeline, she found herself next to Mikhail Valkonen- offering him a reassuring nod that they were going to be all right in the end. That they were going to make it out alive.. Oh how wrong she had been on her end. Within the heat of the battle, an unknown Veletzen soldier ended up setting their eyes upon Koneas Amaya. Verónica had dutifully stayed as close as she could to her queen, on the field, this allowed her to see the attack attempt. She made her way over; quickly taking action. She raised her Princessa Fatal, a blade made for her by Demitrey Denodado, the sword being her go-to weapon. Her blade parried the long sword of the Veletzen’s, having swung it to her right. The two were mostly left alone as the war waged on around them. With her no longer being a spring chicken, she was easily slain, not having the ability to back up fast enough as the enemy soldier brought their blade up and slit her throat. The red liquid sprayed out like a fountain and covered them as the enemy set out to join their allies. Verónica hit the ground with a thud, time had slowed for her as her life flashed before her eyes. She lay in a pool of crimson that started to gather around her and sink into the earth below. After the battle had been lost, both sides were able to claim their dead. A young Konrad Stafyr had found the Princess’s body first. He screamed out “NO!” in a disdained and agonized voice that carried across the gore-filled field. His cry caught the attention of the now-dead woman's niece. Rosalind Valkonen who now knelt across from Konrad as he took her helmet off, praying that it wasn’t who he thought it was.. Once his fears had been concerned. He desperately attempted to find a pulse in a panicked state. None was found.. Rosalind gingerly did her best to clean Verónica’s paled face off before they could get her out of there and returned to her family Verónica awoke within the seven skies. Her joints didn’t ache and she felt young again.. Her hair was longer than it had in years, she enjoyed her long hair and her face and body were no longer scarred. Before she knew what was really happening, she was walking through a set of pearly gates with others around her who had also fallen during the battle. She ended up stopping at the group that was there for her. To greet her in the seven skies. Finally understanding where she was. Verónica started to weep “No!” She exclaimed in what was utter defeat, crying sheer agony on the spot. Her mother, Laurelie wrapped the newly deceased in a hug “It is alright bebé” she shared in an attempt to comfort her “Ea did niet even get to say goodbye-” she whimpered back in dismay “Ea.. did niet get to say goodbye..” she repeated. Joining everyone within the seven skies should have been a happy occasion but for Veronica. In that moment, it was nothing but a feeling of sheer defeat. Princess Verónica Frisketa Isabella Maria Lucia Elisabetta Weiss died in the Battle of Westmark on the 10th of the Grand Harvest, 159 of the Second Age. Verónica leaves behind, her husband. Four children, two daughters-in-law, and ten grandchildren. Please do not meta-game these letters. Each character listed would be given an envelope that was sealed with spring green wax stamped with the Weiss lion, instead of a sun behind it, there was a lightning bolt. Decisions of this court are based on local customs and traditions, typically used with the purpose of local justices, land tenure and property matters, collecting dues and fees, administrative functions, enforcing customary law, mediating disputes and documenting trials. The Burden of Proof Burden of Proof is a fundamental principle in the legal system of the Viceroyalty of Hyspia, The Burden of Proof refers to the responsibility of a party in a legal dispute to provide sufficient evidence to establish their case. Different stands of Proof depend on the type of legal proceedings, detailed below. Civil and Criminal Cases apply to the Burden of Proof with different standards. In both criminal and civil cases, the plaintiff bears the burden of proving the defendant's guilt. In criminal cases, the prosecution must prove their case ‘beyond a reasonable doubt.’ This is the highest standard of proof in the legal system and means that the evidence must be so strong that there is no reasonable doubt about the defendant’s guilt. ‘Preponderance of the evidence’ is typically identified as the burden of proof. This means that the prosecutor must show that it is more likely than not that their claims are true. The evidence provided must be clear and convincing, especially so in cases of fraud or civil liberties. In cases of bigger crimes, this form of evidence may fall between the preponderance of the evidence and beyond a reasonable doubt standard, requiring a higher level of proof than standard civil burdens. The Legal Proceedings of Hyspia may employ legal presumptions that can affect the Burden of Proof. These are assumptions made by the court unless proven otherwise. The role of the Justiciero has a significant role in determining which party carries the Burden of Proof and instructing the Viceroy on the applicable standard of proof. The Justiciero’s responsibility is to evaluate the evidence presented and determine whether the Burden of Proof has been met. Consequences of failing to meet the Burden of Proof may be decided in favor of the opposing party. If requested, another trial may be presented or a Trial By Combat may be pleaded, but can be rejected by the Justiciero or Viceroy of Hyspia. Pre-Trial At the beginning of a trial, a case initiation will be instituted upon arrest or filed complaint of the accused. This will conduct a charging of the defendant and will initiate a lawsuit or prosecution. ---- The parties involved have the right to exchange pleadings. These documents outline the allegations and defenses in the case. ---- Both sides will engage in the discovery process, where they gather and exchange evidence. This will involve dispositions, interrogations, requests for documents, or other means of obtaining information. Other means may involve testing of darkspawn and other warrants of arrest from other cities. ---- Parties may file pre-trial motions to address legal issues or seek certain rulings from the court. These motions can include motions to dismiss, motions to limine or motions for summary judgment. ---- Parties often engage in settlement discussions or negotiations to resolve the case without going to trial. Settlement can occur at any time during the pretrial process. ---- Pre-trial conferences can be informal meetings between the presiding judge and the parties involved to discuss the status of the case. The judge may also address procedural matters and evidentiary issues. ---- Motions of Limine are requests that the judge exclude specific evidence from the trial, typically for legal or evidential reasons. ---- Preparing trial exhibits is not mandatory but is preferred for each party to prepare physical evidence, documents, and exhibits they intend to present at trial. These exhibits should be organized and labeled for easy reference during the trial. ---- Parties identify and prepare witnesses they plan to call at trial. Subpoenas may be issued to ensure the attendance of witnesses who may be reluctant to testify voluntarily. ---- Trial briefs will be conducted before the trial to help the presiding judge understand the case better. These will be outlining the legal and factual issues, arguments, and case law relevant to their positions. ---- Any unresolved pre-trial motions may be argued and decided by the Justiciero or Viceroy. Trial Opening Statements The plaintiff or prosecution will begin their opening statement that will be followed by the defense. During opening statements, each side provides an overview of their case and what they intend to prove. Presentation of Evidence The plaintiff of the prosecution presents their case by calling witnesses and introducing evidence. The evidence provided may include documents, exhibits, and witness testimonies. The defense has the opportunity to cross-examine the witness. Direct Examination The speaker presenting their case questions their own witnesses. The goal is to elicit information and testimony that supports their side of the case. Cross-Examination The opposing party’s speaker questions the witnesses called by the other side. The purpose is to challenge the witnesses’ credibility and the evidence presented. Rebuttal and Surrebuttal After the initial presentation of evidence, there may be a rebuttal phase where each side can call additional witnesses to respond to points made by the opposing side. Closing Arguments Once all the evidence has been presented, both parties make closing arguments. These must be summaries of the case and a final opportunity to persuade the judge or jury. The prosecution goes first, followed by the defense. Verdict Once the presiding judge reaches a verdict, a decision will be announced.. The verdict can be “guilty” or “not guilty.” This decision is based on the evidence presented and the law. If not enough substantial evidence is presented, a second trial or a request of a Trial by Combat may be put in motion. Post-Trial Motions After the verdict or decision, either party may file post-trial motions to challenge the outcome. These may include motions for a new trial or motions to set aside the verdict. Appeals Once the trial is over, either the prosecution or the defendant can appeal to the Viceroy, Justiciero, or Gran Canciller to take a second look at the trial. All citizens of Hyspia, and those prosecuted, are granted the privilege to Appeal. Appeals are not a new trial, and no new evidence can be submitted. Submitting Appeal To submit an Appeal for a trial, either the Prosecution or Defendant must submit a formal Letter of Appeal to the Viceroy, stating the reasoning for why an appeal should be heard. Those that submit appeals without proper grounds will be fined 50 mina. Preparing an Appellate Argument Before the actual in person oral Appeal, both the Prosecution and Defendant submit a written argument in which the sides lay out their side of the case. The Oral Argument After submitting the written arguments, the Viceroy, Gran Canciller, or Justiciero will summon both the Prosecution and Defendant to court, where the Appellate argument will begin. Both sides will plead their case. The Opinion of the Court A verdict will not be announced at the time of the oral argument. Rather, the Viceroy, Gran Canciller, and Justiciero will meet and vote on the outcome. The Viceroy or Gran Canciller will then write the formal opinion of the court, which can be published if the Viceroy sees it fit. If the vote is 2-1, the person in the minority of the vote may choose to write a dissenting opinion explaining their reasons for disagreeing. 5. The Verdict The Court of appeals, in their opinion, may: -Uphold, or affirm the decision of the Viceroy. -Reverse, or overturn the decision of the Viceroy. -Remand, or retry the case. 6. Closing. Once the Court of Appeals gives their verdict through their vote, the decision is final. Another Appeal cannot be made, and the decision of the Court of Appeals cannot be overruled. Sentencing A sentencing phase will occur where the Justiciero or Viceroy will determine the appropriate punishment. Type of Punishments will be the following determined based on the Justiciero or Viceroy. Corporal Punishment Capital Punishment Exile and Outlawry Mutilation Fines and Forfeiture Public Humiliation Imprisonment Trial By Combat Trial by Combat are only subjected if a trial has no proper verdict of the first trial. This may be requested in order to avoid a second trial; a judge or the Viceroy has a right to reject this request based on their own jurisdiction. Combatants will be a Champion chosen by the Viceroy or the prosecutor and the accused. A divine judgment based on the belief that GODAN would favor the innocent or just party and grand them victory in battle. A trial conducted in the presence of clergy and legal authorities, who would oversee the proceedings. Outcome will determine the guilt or innocence of the accused. If a combatant is incapacitated or yields, it is considered a judgment in favor of the opposing party. If both combatants are severely injured or killed, the case may be considered inconclusive and alternative legal methods may be employed. 14. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Your name has been one that has become well renowned as of late, as the cogs of war slowly creep towards your hold. There are many that reside within your lands that I would consider acquaintances; some of them I would even consider friends. These friends speak highly of you, saying you are a Lady that is worth the praise. And so, I write this missive to you. From one Baron to another, from one side to another, I request that you see reason and lay down your blades. There is no need for those who have not taken part in all that has caused this war, to suffer the consequences. You and those who reside under you, I believe, are innocent people. It is not too late to lower your blades, and to seek council with the Covenant. Blackwater Keep has fallen, flattened by the Covenant's army, and your keep is in the crosshairs of siege weaponry. Innocent blood need not be shed. If you refuse, which is understandable, I would still be willing to assist you in evacuating civilians, and those who choose not to fight. Just because we reside on opposite sides of this war, does not mean that either one of us should be heartless to the other. Baron of Sevilla, Justicer De Hyspia, Office De Imigracion
  15. ✠ Orden de Francisco ✠ The Franciscian Order Issued by the Viceroyal Crown 8th of Owyn's Wake, 80 D.R. Prelude [!] The Franciscian Order rallies to defend the Canon faith. The question of a nation’s survival and the defense of its homeland must be answered by its ability to protect itself. That ability is resonant in its people. Countless tales enumerate the brave Hyspians of yore who have laid down their lives in defense of their culture. The Fransician Order is a product of that historical passion for the Hyspian cause. That passion shall be honed and refined to preserve and protect the Hyspian Crown, her people, and the Canon Faith. After many years of reliance on the Crown of Haenseti-Ruska for the protection of her people, it has now become imperative for Hyspia to take up her own arms once again. Therefore, it is by decree of the Viceroyal Crown to introduce a reformation and reorganization of the armed forces into an unyielding structure; to be used as a model for the rest of Hyspia’s continued existence. Duties of the Order [!] A Franciscian knight being sent on a quest. The order relies on three tenets of faith and loyalty to demonstrate exemplary comradery amongst its members. All members must abide by the three core tenets. “Love thy Faith and thy Nation. An insult to a Hyspian is an insult to all. Follow thy Oath and never stray afar.” The duties of a soldier of the Crown are numerous. The main duties affirmed are to protect the people, bring honor to the Crown, and to achieve personal glory on and off the battlefield. Soldiers are expected to act in a manner that reflects the Order’s moral code, whilst never violating the basic moralities that a soldier may hold. Every man and woman that serves in the military is expected to keep a strong ethical code and follow orders only when they are morally sound. With martial prestige as a soldier comes martial responsibility. The regiment requires its soldiers to participate in intense training to ensure only the most disciplined and skilled are representing the nation. Every soldier is trained to follow orders in combat and any violation of this could result in loss of pay, or even loss of rank depending on the severity of the situation. Actions such as supporting an enemy of Hyspia, or an enemy of Canonism as a whole will result in an immediate court martial, loss of pay and rank, possible blacklist from the Regiment, or even execution if found guilty. Oaths and Traditions To be oathed is a centuries old tradition in which each member is tested upon their personal becoming. To truly be an asset and of sound prestige within the Order, each recruited member must face a fully grown bull in the ring. In the event however that they have proven themselves through heroism or displayed their steadfast loyalty in the protection of Hyspia, they may be exempted. Once an initiated soldado has taken on the bull they are then moved on to the duel. Only the upper ranks of the Order may conduct the oath. With this in mind the initiate in testing will be expected to duel an upper ranking member of the Order. To win or lose is less valuable than the true purpose of this test: to see where the skill sets of the recruit lies. A true testing and show of strength however may lead to a quicker promotion. It is at the will of the Viceroy or the Colonel to decide such. The Oath “I, _____, do solemny swear to uphold the honor, integrity, and stability of the Hyspian Crown. I shall uphold the Laws of Hyspia, uphold the three main tenets, perform my duties to the best of my ability, and I shall protect the Viceroyal Family and all Citizens of Hyspia.” Divisions and Squadrons División de St. Peter The División de St. Peter is the largest of the three divisions, serving as the general infantry force of the Order. This division is where all new members of the Order first join where they may remain, or transfer to another division. Escuadrón de St. Foltest The Escuadrón de St. Foltest are the siege engineers of the Order, tasked with ensuring the safety of the city from sieges, along with being experts in siege weapons. Escuadrón de St. Amyas Escuadrón de St. Amyas serve as the medics and alchemists of the Order. They are the foremost medical experts and physicians taxed with healing the wounded, sick and dying members of the order. Their responsibilities can also extend to the Hyspian citizens. División de St. Tylos The División de St. Tylos acts as the cavalry of the Order. Be it hard hitting cavalry charges, hit and run tactics, to quick and speedy scouts or messengers. The División de St. Tylos are skilled in it. Escuadron de St. Tara Escuadron de St. Tara is filled with swift riders and keen scouts. Tasked with locating threats to the realm and being the first into battle. The Escuadron de St. Tara acts as the first line of defense of Hyspia. Escuadron de St. Edmond Composed of formal knights of the order and their squires. The Escuadron de Saint Edmond is regarded as the most prestigious and elite cohort of the squads. They are considered the heavy cavalry unit of the Hyspian military. The Escuadron de St. Edmond is also granted the prestigious responsibility to personally protect the Viceroy and the Viceroyal household. División de St. Adrian The División de St. Adrian serves as the logistical side of the Hyspian military. Ensuring that every soldier has a blade in their hand, and plate on their chest. Their duties are important to the success of the entire Order. Escuadron de St. Robert Serving as the record keepers of the Order. The Escuadron de St. Robert ensures that all ledgers from supplies to manpower are up to date and correct. Escuadron de St. Johannes The Escuadron de St. Johannes travels the lands far and wide to ensure that the needs of the Order are upkept. From basic materials such as coal and iron, to rare herbs and ores for special weapons, the Escuadron de St. Johannes helps ensure the Order has what it needs. Ranks Gran Maestre The honorary title belongs to the Viceroy of Hyspia. Traditionally serving as the head of order and commander-in-chief of its members. The Viceroy is considered the ultimate knight of the kingdom. Only the Viceroy has the sole authority to knight promising escuderos into the order. All military decisions fall to the Viceroy. Along with this title comes the title of Ser and Knight. Caballero Comendador The honorary name for the Colonel. The Caballero Comendador is the highest authority in the practical chain of command, second in official rank to only the Gran Maestre. The main responsibility of the Caballero Comendador is to lead and oversee the Franciscan Order and its armed regiment on behalf of the Viceroy. Along with this rank comes the title of Ser and Knight. Caballero Capitán Selected by the Gran Maestre and Caballero Comendador, a Caballero Capitán is tasked with leading a division of the Order, and ensuring their division is skilled in their assigned speciality and overall competency at combat. Along with this rank comes the title of Ser and Knight. Sargento The Sargento acts as the second in command of a squadron. Assisting their Capitán in the running of the squadron. In the Escuadron de St. Edmond they are known as Caballero Sargento. Cabo A Cabo serves as an officer of their respective squadron, performing general command duties, such as leading patrols and groups into battle. In the Escuadron de St. Edmond they are known as Caballero Cabo. Gaucho The Gaucho is a fully fledged member of a squadron and. Tasked with performing the duties of their squadron. In the Escuadron de St. Edmond they are known as Caballero. Soldado The Soldado is a new and fresh member to a escuadron. Tasked with learning from superiors and following commands, they are trained and guided to eventually serve as fully fledged members of their squad, as a Gaucho. In the Escuadron de St. Edmond they are known as Escudero Milicia The Milicia is where anyone hoping to join the Order, or merely support the Order in times of need begins. Learning the basics of the military and assisting whenever they are needed. Once they are deemed fit to be a part of the Order they will be promoted to Soldado. Trials of Chivalry To become a credible knight in the Order, one must embark on a set of trials that will shape and carve them into the most perfect, trustable, form of intelligent-warrior-philosopher. These trials are meant to test every aspect and facet of the knight in question, but the Order is also under the belief that every knight should have a choice in what they see most important to their upbringings - decision making is a key trait in such a figure after all. That is why the trials will be based off of a points system with only one required trial that everyone has to complete. The text below categorizes Trials as well as puts a value to their worth; each trial may only be completed once, and each squire has to complete at least 1 trial from each category before doing a second one from another. In order to qualify for the final trial, one must accumulate 10 points worth of trials. Of course if a squire thinks of another adequate form of trial that will gain them points, that is fine. It first must be passed by their knight as a trial worthy of praise and showing off their trained attributes. Trials of Piety A knight must show devoutness to the church of cannonism, and a healthy one too. Above everything is the crown and nation of Hyspia - religion takes a close second. Don’t be mistaken though. A knight without spirituality is no knight at all. Trial types Fell an unholy creature in the name of Hyspia’s church and provide proof of kill (2pts) Embark on a holy pilgrimage in which they gain blessings of all the cannonist nations - bring proof of blessings back to the crown. (3pts) Provide a substantial donation to the church and get a document that proves their pilgrimage. Trials of Diplomacy Any knight of the order must be skilled in communications with Hyspia, and other allied - sometimes not allied - nations. This trial will depend upon multiple factors since it really depends on what the other nations need during that moment. This trial will likely count for 2 points required for the final trial. Trial types Attend a diplomatic meeting between the crown and another nation as an ambassador - contribute to whatever this might be in a meaningful way. (1pt) Fulfill the needs of another nation after seeking out a person in power and obtaining a quest and bring back a note from said nation’s leader/person in power that proves their aide. (2pts) Fulfill the needs of another nation based on a task given by the crown and bring back a note from said nation’s leader/person in power that proves their aide. (1pt) Attend a diplomatic meeting between the crown and another nation as an ambassador - contribute to whatever this might be in a meaningful way. (1pt) Trials of Honorable Combat As a knight, not only should they be filled with a vast wealth of knowledge - having an in-depth knowing of the Hyspian Culture and some of the other nations surrounding it - gaining a unique philosophy that is aligned with Hyspia’s most prosperous future - showing care for their spiritual health, which means having a healthy relationship with Canonism. It is any squire’s duty to prove their body and combative prowess is up to par with the rest of their attributes. It should come easy to them; very easy. By this point of their training, if their knight and military experience has done all it was meant to, they should be more than capable of fighting honorably and righteously for the crown. Trial Types Gain Heroic merit from the crown itself for an experience of combat directly from the field (3pts) Fell an enemy of the state through a duel (2pts) Fell a creature that is a threat to descendants [this and the unholy creature felling trial do not go together. They must be done separately](2pts) Trials of Culture Hyspia above all else is a knight’s most sacred and devout duty. In order to truly become capable of serving this nation, one first must prove their knowledge of its vast history. Trial Types Undergo a testing from their assigned knight on the Hyspian culture (2pts) Host a cultural event for the nation of Hyspia to enjoy. The event must tie into Hyspian history (3pts) Trial of Fealty (The last trial one must complete after accumulating a total of 10pts.) In order to prove one's complete and absolute undying loyalty to the crown, a knight must complete a task given directly by the crown - this task can be anything the crown deems worthy, but above all, it must be a daunting and truly trying test of everything that knight has worked toward. The Ceremony Upon the completion of their trial, the squire shall go through a pious ceremony to be officially ordained within the Order. The ceremony shall be held within El Palacio de Girasol and shall be hosted by the Viceroy. All squires who adhere to the Canonist faith or who wish to convert to Canonist must also go through an orthodox baptism, to cleanse their previous sins and to further purify themselves before GOD. Releasement of Position, and Traitorous Actions Honorable Discharge If one was to suddenly become incapable of serving the Order, or had been deemed incapable of doing so, the Crown has access to managing the status of their duties and title. An honorable discharge implies one’s title will stay and keep the weight for how much they have done, while relieving the said person in question of their duties. Some possible reasons for an honorable discharge might look as follows: Aging out of service, catastrophic injury from heroic combat in the name of the crown, those the crown deems worthy, any knight rank. Being granted an Honorable Discharge allows a knight to keep their title as Ser. General Discharge An Under-Honorable Discharge is a category that acts as a way for a soldier to ‘unenlist’ from service without facing any consequences or punishment. Another reason this type of discharge is used, is for someone that is deemed as inactive or not of enough service to the crown. In order to qualify for an under-honorable discharge, they have to have served at least 5 years of service - any rank qualifies for this. Once they are Under-Honorably discharged, they lose all titles but face no punishment. Being granted a General Discharge does not allow a knight to keep their title as Ser. Dishonorable Discharge One who has fallen victim to a dishonorable discharge has sullied or betrayed the crown from a very mild, to a very large degree. Any titles they have at that moment will be stripped from them and likely will face a small fine, punishment, or even execution. Such consequences shall be in respect to their culpability and guilt. Some punishable deeds for a dishonorable discharge are Murder, Fraud, Desertion on field or to the crown, or treason. Being given a Dishonorable Discharge does not allow a knight to keep their title as Ser. Enlistment Prior to enlistment, one must satisfy the minimum prerequisites required for admission: I. One must be at least thirteen summers old. II. One must be a Hyspian citizen. III. One must be of able mind and body. If all prerequisites are satisfied then the candidate may be admitted into the Order at the Gran Maestre’s discretion. To defend ones home and nation is a right that all Hyspians shall hold. The Order shall be the main force of resistance against all oppressive forces that seek to bring woe to our nation. May DIOS keep Hyspia and her people, ever steadfast and determined in their right to exist. Viva Hyspia! Con DIOS Avanzamos, HIS HIGHNESS, Cesar II de Pelear, Viceroy of Hyspia, Duke of Pacazu, Baron of Arenisca and Del’mar, Lord of Ladorada, Lord of Niseep, Gereon's Hold, and Ciudad de Plata, Gran Maestre of El Orden de Francisco, Protector of the Hyspian People, Protector of the Farfolk, Patriarch of House de Pelear HER HIGHNESS, Ramona de Pelear, Crown Princesa of Hyspia, Duchess of Paraiso HIS EXCELLENCY, Señor Jose Fuentes, Caballero Comendador of El Orden de Francisco

The Canonist flock are assailed by trials and tribulations on many sides, Heavenly Father. We pray for the flock of Haense, whose warmth of spirit is being frozen by a never-ending winter and ask that You bless them with the thaw of spring. We pray for the flock of the midlands, of Numendil, Petra and Veletz, for they are troubled by the likes of Vampires, Azdrazi and wicked Magi, and ask that You cast down these threats to the faithful. We pray for the flock of Aaun, whose King lies hurt and bedridden after an evil man tried to bereave him of life, and ask that you bless their ruler with good health. We decree the Curia to be thus: Vice Chancellor, His Eminence, Matthias Cardinal Lotharia Auditor of the Tribunal, His Eminence, Stanislaw Cardinal Westerwald Secretariat to His Holiness, His Eminence, Josef Cardinal Jorenus Prelate of the Priesthood, His Eminence, Antonius Cardinal Artorus Pontifical Chamberlain, His Eminence, Brandt Cardinal Albarosa Commandant of the Pontifical Guard, His Eminence, Odo Cardinal Gelimar SECTION IV - DIOCESAN APPOINTMENTS It is through our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that we appoint the following members of the priesthood to shepherd and be pastor of the Church’s Archdioceses and Dioceses: ARCHDIOCESE OF ALBAROSA To be shepherded by Archbishop Brandt Cardinal Albarosa DIOCESE OF BURON To be shepherded by Bishop Frantzisko DIOCESE OF GELIMAR To be shepherded by Bishop Odo Cardinal Gelimar DIOCESE OF ST. EMMA To be shepherded by Bishop Alexios DIOCESE OF ANDRIKEV To be shepherded by Bishop Amleth DIOCESE OF TYRIA To be shepherded by Bishop Mattia SECTION V - MARRIAGE DISSOLUTION Matrimony is a most Holy sacrament, granted by GOD through his clergymen that serve the flock. However while the union created between a man and a woman through the sacrament of Matrimony is meant to be an eternal one, sometimes the situation causes the Church to have to intervene, for one reason or another, through an official dissolution of the pair’s union. Today, We perform such once more, as It is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that We officially dissolve the union of Adrian of Balian and Andromeda Ester, on the grounds of abandonment and denouncement through Andromeda’s departure from Balian and her disloyalty to and forsaking of Adrian after many years of an unhappy marriage, and the struggle of the latter to make said marriage work. We wish that GOD grant mercy to this separated couple in the next chapters, and We request that they seek Our approval before once again receiving the sacrament of matrimony. SECTION VI - ON THE FERRYMEN Recently we called for the warriors and knights of Canondom to assemble and ride with us to Veletz and Haense. The reason was that the Ferrymen had sought to make their return by kidnapping a pregnant woman, the Princess Sibyl, heir to the Kingdom of Balian. We hereby condemn the actions of the Ferrymen and declare them EXCOMMUNICATED and ANATHEMA. No service or sacrament is to be given to any of their members by any member of the clergy. They reside outside the law of both the Church and secular realms, with their rights forfeited. If any of their members consider themselves Canonists, they may individually seek me out for their penance. We wish to make something very clear; that actions like these are a slight against the Canonist family and they cannot stand. One cannot be a Ferryman or aid a Ferryman and consider themselves a Canonist. Ferrymen cannot live a Canonist life because their lifestyle blasphemes GOD. The age of terrorist behavior like what was displayed by these bandits is done. The Ferrymen as a group laid dead in the dust for a while now and we prefer they remain dead. Their actions have proven that the Canonist League was right in claiming that the Ferrymen reside in Veletz, for they have shown themselves to use the Mareno keep as a base of operations. We say thus to Captain-General Gaspard of the League of Veletz; evict these men and declare them banished, else you aid these terrorists and shall be considered one of them rather than a good Canonist and be likewise declared excommunicated and anathema. We have also seen that a band of Orcs came to the aid of the Ferrymen - for which we admonish the Rex. Let there be no confusion; the Ferrymen are not some sort of lovable rogues who fight a just cause against the remnants of an oppressive Orenian Empire. They are bandits, criminals, killers: terrorists, who make up excuses for supposed heroism while taking a pregnant and innocent woman from her home and threatening to kill her. Let there be no confusion also of the nature of the intervention that happened to try to negotiate the princess’ release; it was not an invasion of Veletz or Ferrymen territory by Haense. The King of Haense, the Admiral of Balian and the Grandmaster of the Order of Saint Jude were there under our banner. We take full responsibility. This was a Canonist mission of liberation inside of Canonist lands. So we say to the Ferrymen; do not try to spin this as some sort of unjust act of war where you are the victims. We thank our good and devout Canonist faithful for heeding the call and coming together as one big family in an attempt to free our sister in GOD from these wicked men. As of right now it is unclear what has happened to her, some say she lives and some say she was killed. Regardless, we shall pray for her soul and her wellbeing and that of her unborn child. Blessed are those who are persecuted for their righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of God. SECTION VII - VENERATIONS It is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that We affirm the following venerations: VENERABLE HENRY ALSTION Prince Henry Alstion was deemed Venerable as per decision of a Curia meeting held under our predecessor Sixtus V for his lifelong commitment to the Church - first as a layman, later as a deacon - and the role he played in ensuring peace among Canondom by ending the long-term war between the Duchy of Adria and the Canonist League. VENERABLE FATHER ARMAND Cardinal-Archbishop Armand of Lotharia is made venerable for his efforts in spearheading the crusade on the Azdrazi heralds of Azdromoth, the role he has played in combating the forces of evil in general, serving the Church faithfully as Auditor for decades and his invaluable contributions to the Magic Commission. VENERABLE KING CHARLES I OF AAUN King Charles of Aaun is made venerable in recognition for his unwavering loyalty to the Church and defense of our most holy institution throughout his lengthy life and reign. His legacy of devotion to the Church among the population of Aaun can be felt to this day and the importance of him standing up for the Canonist Church when an alliance led by Sedan threatened to schism over the issue of investiture cannot be denied. SECTION VIII - BEATIFICATION It is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that We affirm the following beatification: BLESSED SISTER CALLIOPE Sister Calliope Renata of Merryweather was a nun hailing from the House of Alstreim who joined the Church’s sisterhood in the Principality of Savoy. Aside from her service to the Church and her Faithful, she is beatified for the miracle she is believed to have performed at the Duchy of Reinmar in Haense in 1943. The Duchy was attacked by a band of undead led by a necromancer, who set the lands of the Duke ablaze and slaughtered his animals. After the attack, the Duke went to a chapel and prayed to Sister Calliope for intercession, upon which he saw a vision of the nun. After leaving the chapel, it was apparent that - miraculously - the damage the undead’s fire and blades had done to the Duchy had been reversed as if nothing had happened. 19. LA DORADA Our Golden Home Issued by the Viceroyal Crown Second of Godfrey's Triumph, S.A. 150 El Estado Dorado [!] La Ciudad de La Dorada, portrayed under a setting sky. “What does it mean to be a Hyspian?” Is it the pride in our language? Or is it our shared preferences in the beauty of warm climates and vibrant colors? What unites us? Is it our shared canonist faith? Or our love for passionate music, poetry, and theater? The culture of Hyspia has been established since its origins. It has been built upon, expanded, and practiced to the extent of which the term “Hyspian” signifies more than just a culture, but a nationality. Whether it be the celebration of Dia de Los Muertos or an event of La Torea, Hyspia never ceases to create a lively atmosphere; one where men, women and children can enjoy the spirited yet lively music and theater, the passionate sermons of their canonist faith, and the encouragement of pride not for themselves but for the collective community as a whole. To be Hyspian means to be Persistent. To be Hyspian means to be Passionate. To be Hyspian means to be Proud. “That is what it means to be a Hyspian.” For years we have been separated, scattered, and quelled throughout the corners of this continent. However, it is our collective faith and identity that has kept our culture intact. Our persistence is what kept our dream of an independent home alive. Now, we can be united once more as we settle upon our new homeland. United in our cause for common identity. Upon this day, the grand city of Hyspia has reached its completion. It brings the Crown of Hyspia great pleasure to share the growth and progress of our state. With dedication, dutiful planning, and execution of the Grand City. 21. EL REGIMIENTO DE HYSPIA The Viceroy's Own Volunteers Issued by the Viceroyal Crown 2nd of Owyn’s Light, 150 S.A. Prelude [!] The Hyspian Regiment preparing for battle The question of a nation’s survival and the defense of its homeland must be answered by its ability to protect itself. That ability is resonant in its people. Countless tales enumerate the brave Hyspians of yore who have laid down their lives in defense of their culture. The Hyspian Regiment is a product of that historical passion for the Hyspian cause. That passion shall be honed and refined to preserve and protect the freedom of Hyspia’s Crown and her people. The Duties of the Regiment [!] A Hyspian Soldier preparing for patrol The duties of a soldier of the Crown are numerous. The main duties affirmed are: to protect the people, bring honor to the Crown, and to achieve personal glory on and off the battlefield. Soldiers are expected to act in a manner that reflects the Regiment’s moral code, whilst never violating the basic moralities that a soldier may hold. Actions such as supporting an enemy of Hyspia, or an enemy of Canonism as a whole will result in an immediate court martial, loss of pay and rank, and possible blacklist from the Regiment if found guilty. Oath and Traditions [!]A depiction of an oathing ceremony The Regiment relies on three tenets of faith and loyalty to demonstrate exemplary comradery amongst its members. All soldiers must abide by the three core tenets. “Respect thy faith and thy dignity. An insult to a Hyspian is an insult to all. Follow thy Oath and never stray afar.” To be Oathed is a centuries old tradition in which each member is tested upon their personal becoming. To truly be an asset and of sound prestige within the Regiment, each recruited member must face a fully grown bull in the ring. In the event however that they have proven themselves through heroism or displayed their steadfast loyalty in the protection of Hyspia, they may be exempted. Once an initiated guardsmen has taken on the bull they are then moved on to the duel. Only the upper ranks of the Regiment may conduct the oath. With this in mind the initiate in testing will be expected to duel an upper ranking member of the army. To win or lose is less valuable than the true purpose of this test: to see where the skill sets of the recruit lies. A true testing and show of strength however may lead to a quicker promotion. It is at the will of the Viceroyarch or the Colonel to decide such. The Oath “I, _____, do solemny swear to uphold the honor, integrity, and stability of the Hyspian Crown. I shall uphold the Laws of Hyspia, uphold the three main tenets, perform my duties to the best of my ability, and I shall protect the Viceroyal Family and all Citizens of Hyspia.” Releasement of Position, and Traitorous Actions [!] A depiction of the execution of a traitor At the top of the relinquishment of position is retirement. Once a member of the Regiment has reached a point where they no longer intend to be of service to the nation’s ranks, be that of age, different interest, or new achievements directly conflicting the enlistment of the soldier. They may formally request to be retired from their position in the Hyspian Regiment. However, there are times where the expulsion of a member is necessary. Note that not all leaving of ranks and brotherhood should be an ordeal leading to execution or exile. In a few cases, however dire, one may be requested of honorable medical discharge. Such honorable discharges are few and restricted. An example of a medical discharge may be accredited to permanent disablement. Though that not being the only reason one may be honorably discharged, it is left to the higher ranking officials to decide. Nevertheless, members of the military who retire or are honorably discharged shall always be respected and celebrated for their faithful contributions and steadfast loyalty to Hyspia. Opposite to an honorable discharge is a dishonorable discharge, in which one shows infidelity, thievery, or illegal actions. A fairly simple one as the former member of the Regiment is expected to be tossed away into a grim cell for a set time as the judge or Viceroyarch sees fit. The latter scenario, however, is far less of a punishment in comparison to a member who has been labeled a traitor. Such examples are: one who has fled the ranks, or worse gone to a foreign ranks in an attempt to sabotage the Regiment. The only suitable punishment for such would be a public execution. The Ranks and Roles [!] Painted in traditional order of ranking leaders The Regiment is divided into vertical cohorts. The titles and responsibilities of each rank have been engraved in Hyspian martial traditions since the unification of the Hyspian people. In honor of the Hyspian culture, the ranks reflect the rich history of Hyspia’s martial prowess. General The honorary title belongs to the Viceroyarch of Hyspia. Traditionally serving as the head of the military and commander of the troops. The military is at the Viceroyarch’s command. Colonel The highest authority in the practical chain of command, second in official rank to only the Viceroy. The main job of this position is to ensure the Regiment’s combat readiness and continued function at all times. Lieutenant The second in command of the Regiment. Whoever holds this position shall be in charge of ensuring the proper training of soldiers and overseeing events, taking charge only when necessary. Cabo The main corps of event hosts, Cabo are soldiers who have proven themselves capable enough to lead events such as training, patrols, and day to day duties such as rallying troops to respond to situations. Gaucho A fully oathed soldier of the crown. Proven themselves worthy in a multitude of combat and non combat situations. The main corps of veteran soldiers will be this rank. Soldado Freshly recruited soldiers of the crown, these men and women have yet to prove themselves, but are on the path. They have the crown's authority, but still need the proper training in order to be a true soldier. Milicia Citizen soldiers, an auxiliary corps rallying to defend the nation if called upon. No formal training necessary. Enlistment [!] Painted depiction of fresh recruits on a patrol Prior to enlistment, one must satisfy the minimum prerequisites required for admission: I. One must be at least thirteen summers old. II. One must be a Hyspian citizen. III. One must be of able mind and body. If all prerequisites are satisfied then the candidate may be admitted into the Regiment at the Colonel or Viceroyarch’s discretion. To defend one’s home and nation is a right that all Hyspians shall hold. The Regiment shall be the main force of resistance against all oppressive forces that seek to bring woe to our nation. May DIOS keep Hyspia and her people, ever steadfast and determined in their right to exist. Viva Hyspia! Signed, HIS HIGHNESS, Cesar II de Pelear, Viceroy of Hyspia, Duke of Pacazu, Baron of Arenisca and Del’mar, Lord of Ladorada, Lord of Niseep, Gereon's Hold, and Ciudad de Plata, Protector of the Hyspian People, Patriarch of House de Pelear HER HIGHNESS, Ramona de Pelear, Crown Princesa of Hyspia, Duchess of Paraiso HIS EXCELLENCY, Señor Jose Fuentes, The Colonel of Hyspia, Commander of the Third Regiment

  23. TO CONFRONT A CRISIS A Message of Unwavering Resolve Issued by the Viceroyal Crown On Sigismund's End, In the Year of 1943 To the Hyspian people, It is time for us to raise our blades and prepare our steeds. We shall meet at the Viceroyal manor in Valdev. The Viceroy-Emeritus has been captured by godless individuals in the name of greed and chaos. And in consequence, they have the audacity to send a note of demands: A Blood-Stained Ransom This reprehensible act shall not be taken lightly. Nor will we bow to their avaricious demands for ransom. They dare to threaten me and my family. They dare to mock us, the Hyspian community, and expect for us to be complacent to their demands. Little do they know that they have merely poked and prodded the goliath into mere annoyance and filled it with terrible resolve. From this day forth, no negotiations shall be made for the return of Francisco Javier de Pelear amongst these faithless terrorists. My father will return with our efforts. But in the process, no mercy will be shown to the culprits. To the avaricious abductors I say to you: We will find you. We will save Francisco; And when we do, you shall not be saved. Signed, His Highness, Cesar II, Viceroy of Hyspia, Baron of Arenisca and Del’mar, Lord of Niseep, Gereon's Hold, and Ciudad de Plata, Protector of the Hyspian People, Patriarch of House de Pelear
  24. https://youtu.be/-OswuZgK5Zc Laurelie Henrietta Vuiller - de Pelear A girl born in Vuillermoz to partner Ravn and Sir Duncan Vuiller both of whom were in their late 40s, early 50s. Youngest of four children, the couple’s only daughter. She grew up during the War of the Wigs or as her family knew it, the Sheeps War. Started by her father after trying to protect two of his three boys. The first time she ever left her family’s home was strapped to her father’s chest during his guard shift. Many fights were had while she was with him, but no one touched her;rumor had it he even armed her with a small dagger to hold in case anyone ever got too close. She was told at a very early age to never leave the land she was born on unless she had someone with her, or she would be taken captive by demons and other monsters. She would make her way to Providence on day trips with her family at least once or twice a month.. However, she wished for more time in the city. At the age of seven, she would meet her closest friend and confidant Johanne Vuiller, the heir at the time to the family name. Now with Johanne, she would head into the city more often, stay out of the public eye. Avoiding most people whenever possible as she didn’t want to cause any issues for her family as they climbed the ranks in noble standing. While the war her father started raged on outside her family’s walls, she was oblivious to the losses on both sides and often prayed for their salvation, her father came home at the end of every battle. So that was good enough for her. At the age of twelve, she would find a lifelong companion, found in a broken flower pot. A mix of a Bull Terrier and Corgi mix who would go on by the name of Buckles. This is when Johanne with Laurelie as partners would go on to found Jowls and Buckles Pet Emporium. J & B Pet Emporium for short. However, it never got off the ground. At the age of thirteen, she was sitting in the town square of Providence, Johanne having left to get their mutual friend so they could all have tea. Only in her absence, to have a man put a knife to Laurelie’s neck and have her walk swiftly with him down to the warehouses. There, he would interrogate her about her family so he could ransom her, thankfully her lack of presence was noticed and Laurelie was quickly found. She, however, was left with a scar that covered most of her right shoulder which she got during her getaway. The man was dealt with, being killed on the spot. She was later used as a medical lesson for Johanne on how to stitch someone up. At the age of fourteen, she found the body of her father as it just started to rain. His body was still warm, yet he was lifeless, his throat ripped open. She would later find out that the brother she was closest to, Drasus, saw her crying over their father’s body yet ran away, rather than try to comfort her. In her father’s will she was given the sword he used in battle while she was strapped to his chest as a baby. Only a few days later, the war ended, she would talk with her mother, being gifted a dagger and a hair comb. Being told that big things come from small beginnings. To never forget; to stay humble. She would take those words to heart. Not even a Saint’s day later, the Brother’s war happened. This resulted in her home being raided by “the self-proclaimed King’s” men. This attack on their home resulted in many lives lost once aid came. Laurelie was trapped on the roof, only able to watch as the men laughed while they beat her Aunt Rosemary nearly to death. Having to listen to her Great Aunt Primrose try to bargain for Johanne’s life while trying to offer up Rosemary and Laurelie for collateral. Primrose’s words fell on deaf ears. Nearing the end of the fight, Laurelie and Johanne scaled down the wall with three infants, going into the Vuiller crypts where they both ended up praying and crying out to the dead, and God to save them. Laurelie was afraid to leave the fort that those still loyal to the last Orenian Emperor called home. The only time she left willingly was to go to the last Emperor’s wedding taking place at the Vuillermoz church. Even then, she was fearful as a dragon flew overhead, yet she tried to join in on the joy that everyone else had. At the age of fifteen, just before her life changed again she met a boy, the first person her age, his name was Julius. They only talked a few times but it was still nice to have a friend around her age. Even if it was for only a year. As their days in the fort grew closer to the end, they set off for their new home, only for it to be attacked. Their Emperor was taken captive on a day meant for peace, later being beheaded after a failed rescue mission. Laurelie was forced to be on the battlefield as a combat medic. The harsh reality of war, finally hitting her. With the help of her Aunt Rosemary, she was able to drag Julius off to safety, tending to his wounds. This would be the last time Laurelie ever saw him. Balian was founded around the time she turned sixteen, 12. B.A Laurelie H.Vuiller 12. B.A.The day of her 16th name day The first full day the city was built ,she would meet two more people who would play a big role in her life: A sixteen year old by the name of Thomas and a seventeen year old by the name of Constantine. She in all truth had taken a liking to Constantine, however the way her cousin Johanne looked at him she couldn’t help but feel guilty of her own feelings, burying them deep down inside. Meanwhile, Thomas had taken a liking to Laurelie. Laying claim to her hand, everyone within the city of Atrus thought them to be courting. No matter how many times she told them they were just friends. At least until her Uncle Rev gave his blessing. Thomas had given her a necklace, however this wasn’t just any necklace. It was one that was made by Constantice causing her feelings to become even more confusing. She loved Thomas as a friend. This is something she would wear until the day she died. Only taking it off to clean it. With options running low she felt she had to settle. At least Thomas cared for her, he also asked her any chance he could to court her. Her only condition is that Thomas had to ask her uncle. If he however couldn’t get a hold of him or get his blessing by the time they turned twenty five, they would get married without his blessing. Thomas agreed. When she was around the age of twenty one they got the blessing of her Uncle, however once Thomas got the blessing, she never saw or heard from him again. The first Symposia Pragma was to be held. Johanne convinced her to go as she had not heard from Thomas in four years. Laurelie agreed, and at the age of twenty five was given the title of the first and only Desert Rose. Yet it was never mentioned in the papers published about that day. It was there she would dance most the night away with Cesar I de Pelear, Viceroy of Hyspia. Once he left, she went to sit down. Speaking with Constantine, for the first time in their friendship, they were not interrupted by the children of Balian. The children often fought for his attention, as he took on a big brother role for all, if not most of them. Even if the conversation was short lived, Laurelie was still fighting with her feelings for him. Even though there was a failed courtship agreement with him and Johanne. He and her Uncle Rev never saw eye to eye on things. He offered her to drink, but due to never indulging herself, she declined. In her old age, she would regret it but move on as there isn’t anything you can do to change the past. The day came where the men had to follow the girls into the desert, called the Queen Bee’s chase. The men had to catch their ‘Queen to be’ as a hunting game, and come back with a meal. Laurelie had gotten lost only to find herself lost with Constantine. “Why are you in the season? I thought you belonged to Thomas.” “I haven’t heard from him in nearly four years, and even then. We never courted.” Constantine gave her a pained smile. They spoke a little more only for him to share that he planned to court Diane, another one of her cousins from the other side of her family. He even hunted for their food when they returned. Only for him to present the boar to Diane as soon as they walked in the gates. A letter was waiting for her, “Dear Laurelie, I’m sorry our first meeting was cut short. I’d love to get to know you more, and take a tour of the city.” signed Cesar the Viceroy. Johanne went on to marry Drako the head of house Darkwood, she would go on to see all the women younger than her get ready for their wedding. Meanwhile, she was once more stuck in limbo with a man she loved waiting for her Uncle's approval for courtship. She, however, didn't get married until the age of thirty one. Not only that, but she ended up being disowned by her uncle from the Vuiller name, having not “waited” long enough to later get his approval for marriage. Her wedding day was a disaster. The dress she planned on wearing didn’t fit right, the Priest didn’t show up on time. None of her friends or family showed up. Everyone she felt was only there for Cesar. Laurelie H.Vuiller and Buckles. Year 1884 one year after her wedding. Things however did get slightly better for her. She was gifted with a beautiful healthy baby boy. Cesar for the first two years was absent from their lives as he went on a journey. Only for their city to fall to ruin. She moved her family back to Balian for a time. She gave birth to her twins Sofia and Alejandro the day Balian hit twenty years standing strong. Cesar would always like to argue they were born in Hyspia, however they were born in the Balian clinic. Cesar for the children’s early life would be fussing over where to go, only to go to the great land of Hanseti-Ruska, asking for aid from King Karl III. Laurelie was very hesitant as they took the false king’s side so many years ago, trying to kill her at the age of fourteen. Their youngest child Veronica, was born in the Haense clinic. Laurelie, now nearing her forties. She got them set up with a nice house in the city while Cesar was off working on their soon to be forever home. The few times she was allowed to visit, she helped design the bull fighting pit. Trying to get more in touch with her husband’s heritage, as she still slowly learned the Hypian language. At the age of four, Alejandro lost his arm playing with a crocodile. If you asked Laurelie after the age of sixty what happened to him she would tell you he died that day, not going into further detail. One day in court Laurelie and Sofia overheard a man “the Hyspian’s are our friends,” he shared with his sons. This man was Felix Weiss. From then on a friendship was born. With Audo going on to marry Veronica once they were old enough, and having five children. She found herself in Balian with Veronica. Veronica was the only one of her children to meet her Great Uncle Rev before he died later that Saint’s day. Followed by her mother having a heart attack at that news. As Laurelie neared her mid fifties, the Inferi Siege took place, rushing to the city to make sure her children were safe. In the crypts of Hanseti-Ruska, she along with a few other women helped Princess-Royal Analiesa give birth to a sickly gray baby girl. As Felix Weiss came down into the crypts, a blood soaked knight in shining armor led them to safety as she carried the Princess-Royal. King Karl and his men were successful in the fight. However, Laurelie didn’t know if Cesar was alive or not until she returned home with their children, seeing him smoking in their room. She didn’t know whether to kiss him or strangle him. Once the twins were twelve, she allowed Sofia’s closest friend Amity to become a ward after her mother vanished. She later on came to deeply regret this as from then on Amity had Francisco wrapped around her pinky, she never got to speak with him again one on one after that. They later married, having six children. Five only making it past childhood. As the children grew older, Alejandro kept causing issues for the family. The straw that broke the camel’s back for his siblings is when he cheated on his fiance, which caused Cesar to have a heart attack after having already been attacked earlier in the Saints week. Cesar and Laurelie de Pelear S.A. 101 - Year 1898 At the ages of 47 Alejandro would later go onto murder Cesar, feigning ignorance as to what happened to his father. Laurelie would later discover her husband's body in the Church of Blessed Francisco headless, flayed, drained of blood, and with two of her grandchildren standing down the aisle. All of this having occurred just a few months before Veronica was meant to marry Audo in that same building. They only found out what Alejandro did after he went on to marry his husband. From then on, Laurelie didn’t care what happened to him. As far as she knew, she only had one son, and two daughters. Francisco took over fully as Viceroy of Hyspia, with Laurelie going on to take the tile of, “Her Royal Highness, Vicereine-Mother of Hyspia” From the day of her husband’s death Laurelie started to wear dark colors to signify she was always in mourning of him. Granted, he grew colder to her as everyone got older, but she still loved him. The mourning would then extend to her eldest grandchild, Esperanza, who she was the closest to. Sofia would go on to marry King Georg I of Hanseit-Ruska, having two lovely daughters. It was only for their wedding Laurelie put on light colors, coming out of mourning silks for a day before going back to her dark mourning silks. For those who knew Laurelie she was a kind woman who loved to paint and sew. Yet she held onto a family secret she took to the grave. Laurelie lived to be 88 years old before dying in her sleep at Weiss family keep, Staalgrav. She had gone in hopes of spending time with her grandchildren as a surprise the following day. She would be found by Veronica, who came to wake her up that morning. She leaves behind, Three children, Seventeen-Nineteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. At the age of 78, 484 E.S. The will of Laurelie de Pelear Letters attached to the will ~~OOC THOUGHTS!~~
