I like the idea of having horses with carriages being an actual thing, a boat with a couple seats attatched to a horse or something, would be faster and you'd still go along the roads and possibly encounter RP such as a blocked roadside or bandits looking to rob whatever the carriage has, possibly being able to also carry supplies in huge bulk.

We should be more powerful than a swordsman. a month just to be able and summon a fire ball should definitely give us better chances against someone who just picked up a sword and said he could fight with it.

Technically they are more powerful than a swordsman when looking at raw damage, but generally mages lose due to them not being smart in how they fight. You don't try to shock someone right next to you with a bolt of electricity, just like you wouldn't try to use a dagger to stab someone in the gut while the target is wearing full plate. A skilled warrior could take out a handful of mages if he fights correctly, just as the opposite can happen. It's all in how you RP fight, tbh.

Just ''picking up  a sword'' doesn't teach someone how to fight. In actuality a mage will lose concentration every single time someone launches a strike on them because they need to concentrate on the weapon incoming to avoid it, let they get hit. 

So doing fire evo for a month don' t mean jack. Uiron's practised with polearms as a character that four months old, and a mage in reality should probably draw a sword instead of trying to cast in close quaters combat.
