The woman approached Amity, she herself growing weary of the figure. The woman turned to the Vice-Royal, a harrowing smile on her face as she dipped her head to the Amity. “Good Day miss” “Hola..” The Vicereine murmured, those florals clutched in her hands as her gaze traveled across her surroundings before once more landing upon the unknown woman. “Are you here to pay your respects?” But the woman was not there to pay her respects, for only moments later a hand gripped around her throat. She tried to scream for help but the air to her lungs was cut off. Her arms flailed as she tried to free herself from the attacker, but to no avail. Elongated fangs dug into her skin, the moments ticking by as Amity watched her life flash before her eyes. From her parents, to her adoring husband, and to the kids she bore with him that she would love until her final breath. If only that final breath had not come so soon. She fell unconscious. The woman proceeded to rip her jugular out using those same fangs that drained her of her lifeforce. Blue and Black scattered to the floor, the florals she had been clutching oh so dear now stained red with her own blood. Issued the 14th of The Deep Cold, 1934 THE MEDICAL SOCIETY OF ST. CATHERINES The Medical Society of St. Catherines is the school that resides in Saint Amyas’ Hospital. This is what runs the hospital and keeps everything organized. The Society is administered by Princess Julietta Laurelai Haverlock as the Head physician. From this position she leads all of the classes sponsored by the hospital. If you are interested in joining the Clinic as a student, medic, or physician you should contact the Head Physician for more information. The Society’s Philosophy St. Catherine, a daughter born from the loins of the holy Emperor John the First, is the patron Saint of this society and therefore its tenants are based on her life history. Humility Throughout her entire life, the edification of GOD and his people above herself was the driving force behind each of her decisions. That is why members of the Society put their patients and the citizens of Aaun above themselves. They do not boast of their talents and achievements as they have been bestowed to them by GOD. Their actions are not driven by pride like other physicians, and instead they understand their place within the hierarchy of life. Honesty Early on in St. Catherine's life she dedicated herself to a life of Honesty, for she took an oath that she’d never lie again. This is a profound ideology given the deceit that surrounds us believers constantly. In the medical field, it should be expected that patients are given the utmost honesty in all situations and physicians should act with integrity worthy of sanctification. Service To serve the people of GOD is a key tenet to St. Catherine’s ideology, and therefore it remains a key prerogative of the Society. Through their actions, members of the Society are able to maintain this tenet because of the necessity of their practice. The Society not only performs acts of charity through their medical work, but they also maintain outreach programs and assistance for the needy. The Hierarchy of the Clinic The Clinic is run by the Head Physician and the appointed Councilors. The Councilors are specially selected among the Physicians to act as leaders and advisors of the Hospital. The clinic within the Kingdom can get very chaotic with everything in disarray, the following Hierarchy is to help keep order of what role each person serves within the Society. Head Physician | Julietta Laurelai Haverlock The Head Physician is tasked with overseeing the entire clinic. They have the most experience within the clinic. With this role comes a wide variety of responsibilities that range from public relations to managerial tasks. In addition to these requirements, they also lead the school of the hospital Clinic Councilors | VACANT Within the Society, Clinic Councilors act as a cornerstone for the entire hierarchy. These members are appointed by the Head Physician based on their merit. Councilors climbed through the ranks similar to that of the Head Physician by displaying their medical, administrative, and charismatic prowess. In this role one could be expected to lead a given department within the society, work on delegated tasks assigned by the Head Physician, or provide advice for the Society’s members. Physicians Physicians have honed their skills to the point that one's life can be placed into their hands beyond the capability of a journeyman. They are allowed & capable of performing a wide variety of surgeries whilst also being able to determine treatment methods for many ailments. It typically takes multiple years of service and tutelage to reach this level of experience. Medics Medics are the most common of the roles within the clinic. Typically this role will perform the grunt work of the clinic that doesn’t require surgical expertise. They lack the skill set required for surgical operations, but they can still provide life saving services through actions such as first aid and triage. Outside of the clinic they can be found improving upon their studies through the guidance of the councilors, physicians, and other medics. This could be considered the most challenging role to promote given the specific knowledge required for elevation. Students Acolytes of the medical trade. Students come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of experience. If a student either has the knack or ambition to succeed as a physician they’ll find themselves beginning from this position. They will be tested through a plethora of conditions as they learn under the guise of the Councillors. Almost like a wardship, a councilor can take a student under their wing and act as a mentor to said student. At the end, students will be required to pass a series of trials before they can find themselves a prepared medical professional.
