  1. [!] The following missive is distributed on notice boards throughout the Kingdom of Norland and all of her vassals. AN EXECUTIVE EDICT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR OF THE KINGDOM OF NORLAND ISSUED AND CONFIRMED BY THE CHANCELLOR OF THE KINGDOM OF NORLAND, IN THE YEAR OF 87 S.A. To the loyal citizens of the Kingdom of Norland, As peace once more is established within the borders of our homeland, the Royal Chancellery of the Kingdom of Norland has convened with the members of the King’s Council and set forth a number of decisions. It is with this document that the Royal Chancellery hereby officially announces the creation of the following administrative and executive reforms regarding the royal government of the Kingdom. The first reform constituted by the Office of the Chancellor is to be the establishment of an administrative building, which is to be known as the Royal Chancellery, within the city of Alisgrad. This building is to be accessible by all citizens of the Kingdom of Norland in order to bring forth concerns to the attention of the Crown and His Royal Majesty’s government. In addition to the aforementioned, the Chancellor is to furthermore establish a royal letterbox in front of said building for written concerns towards the administration. The second announcement from the Office of the Chancellor is the calling for a mandatory annual meeting and convocation between the royal government and communal governments of the Kingdom of Norland in order to directly address any issues or conflict between the two entities or any further matters which require His Royal Majesty’s Government’s authority or assistance. These meetings are to be held between at least 1 representative from the Royal Government and at least 2 representatives of the communal governments. Failure to convene to such royal convocations may result in demotion or removal of office. Lastly, the Office of the Chancellor hereby announces the beginning of a royal governmental reviewing period. During this aforementioned period the Chancellery is to closely overlook the duties, authorities and responsibilities of each and every high-ranking governmental member of both communal and royal administrations. It shall be during this time that removals, appointments, demotions or promotions are to be handed out by the authority and will of His Royal Majesty the King. May the Allfather guide you. Signed, His Excellency, Asmund Camian, Chancellor of the Kingdom of Norland
  2. As of SA 78, I, Ragnar Sigvardson I, Marshal of Norland, hereby promote Einar Edvardsson from the rank of Man At Arms to the rank of Warden. This has been taken in consideration, due: Einar's activity within the Royal Norlandic Ashguard. To the leave of Ragnarr Mosu, as there can only be 4 such Wardens. Signed: Sir Ragnar Sigvardson I, Lord of Bjornfjall, Marshal of Norland
  3. [!] The following message has been nailed onto every notice board in Norland & It's Vassals A Song of Exodus _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Mösu Shall no Longer Obey To A Kingdom That is in Decay. We shall neither Stand nor Fight For What They Believe is Right. For Only A Fool Would Follow When Injustice & Humiliation is All He Has Been Bestowed, When Justice, Gifts & Glory Is What They Are Owed. A Kingdom Defended By A Fool’s Folly, A Kingdom Left Blinded To The Enemy Rally, A Kingdom's Pride In All Its Glory, Its End Shall Be Gory. What I’m about to say is not meant to make you beg for us to stay nor beg for forgiveness. For you are the choosers of your own fate and actions. But I want you to know how you have behaved towards me and my Clan… And How we have treated you. For years now, me & my clan have been subject to unjust treatment and humiliation from those we would once consider brothers and sisters, comrades who we fought and bled next to in a shieldwall, even risked our own necks and skin to save when their footing faltered and their end seemed near. When we have been the ones to first answer the call to arms in defense of Norland and been those that showed up in even greater numbers then sworn vassals and barons of Norland! Hel, Not even the Ashguard managed to surpass us in numbers! So dare not say that we have not done our fair share, our right, our duty as Highlanders & Norlanders. We have bled and toiled just like you all. If you’ve got scars and believe you have bled and toiled more for our North, then Strip and show them to us! We’ll show you ours! There is no part on our bodies that is not marked with a wound. Our bodies are covered in scars from every weapon you can think of! Swords, Arrows, Spears, Clubs, Stones… All of them sustained for Norland! In defense of your kin & friends! But yet they Dishonor, Humiliate, act out unjust punishment for things some of us have already been justly punished for when honor, land, titles and gifts are what we are owed… They stab us in the back over and over again like the treacherous courtiers in empires of old, Bite our ankles like a poisonous snake when we are not aware. We demanded justice for all the times where we were wronged and we received none. We asked for what we were owed in return for all the blood we have spilled and lost for Norland and received nothing. We asked to be recognised as an official clan of Norland and yet there is no such decree. A man can only be stabbed in the back a few times before he grows a pair of eyes in the back of his head. Henceforth I, Sir Ragnarr Mösu “Barbarossa”, Aesir of Aesirs in Redclyf, Chieftain of the Mösu clan and among the first knights of Norland, and the Mösu Clan shall no longer exist under the banner of Norland nor be in the service of the King & Ashguard for only a fool would do so after having experienced what we have. If there is still any Mösu's in the Ashguard then this is their letter of Resignation from it. So Join Friends & Folk who Have Seen Norland’s Wrongs, Let us set Sail and Sing Songs. Let the Northern Winds take our Ships South, As We escape Norland’s Bad word-of-mouth. To a Distant Land That Is Hot & Warm, Yet Friendly & Does not Thorn. Our Song of Exodus, Shall even be Sung by Regulus. Signed, Rangarr Mösu “Barbarossa”, Aesir of Aesirs, Chieftain of Clan Mösu & Knight of Norland
  4. THE ASHGUARD WANTS YOU! authored as of the year 72 S.A. by Marshal Asmund Camian on behalf of the Royal Norlandic Army As peace, stability, security and prosperity once more flock to the Kingdom of Norland, the duty to defend one’s homeland from the dangers from within and beyond our borders grows evermore! Thusly, the call for loyal and pious men and women of our homeland to take up arms in order to defend their people is once more presented to the citizenry of Norland! The Royal Ashguard of the Kingdom of Norland will house, feed, and arm any and all soldiers regardless of rank or wealth. Furthermore, those who have reached the rank of Footmen or above and have served the Kingdom for many dutiful years are entitled to an issue of land from the Kingdom, given at the length of retirement of said individual. 5. 14th of The Amber Cold, 70 SA While the three branches of Rurikid have rarely seen eye to eye on any matter, every branch can attest that the moot is a time honored tradition. It is not intended to be used as a ploy by cravens who cannot face their relations face to face, who cannot bear the consequences that come with calling all of age Rurikid men into one gathering place. Twice in recent history has the moot been called and twice has it been made a joke of, first by the last king of Norland, Vane Freysson, and now by Ragnvald Ash, formerly of Eiriksson. Every generation grows further distanced from a true understanding of what makes a Ruric a Ruric. We are all descendents of the Prophet. We are all prisoners to the burden of our lineage, the burden of legacy and honor. Lest we forget the Red Scrolls, as the tenets tell us: Do what is right, be it hard or easy going. With this said, let it be known that I, Manfred von Arichsdorf, chieftain of clan Edvardsson, declare my full support to King Vangel Freysson. Manfred von Arichsdorf, Chieftain of clan Edvardsson Leitsieg Thoromir von Arichsdorf, son of Manfred Theodric Edvardsson, Son of Alric Caedric Edvardsson, Son of Alric

Language: Common Flag: Green and white squares. Representing our trade. Discord Server: None at the moment, my discord is yashinoki#0291. Clan House: Donovan 6, for now. We'll do gatherings there and as we progress, we will buy a proper Clan House. You won't regret joining!
  7. Decree of Uniformity Published at this 6th of the Grand Harvest, year 58 of the Second Age From the Office of the Marshal of the Ashguard, To all members of the Ashguard and Citizens of the Kingdom of Norland, it is the wish of the Marshal of Norland and the Wardens of the Ashguard to inform the public of a change to the uniforms of our armed forces. Previously, the uniform of the Ashguard had been divided up by rank in order to signify who was apart of what rank. However, in recent times the leadership of the Ashguard wishes to impose a sense of brotherhood among its members. As a result, all members of the Ashguard below the rank of Warden will wear one singular uniform. [!] Below is a depiction of the Uniform that all members of the Ashguard will now be required to wear. In order to keep with the chain of command and allow for easier identification of military leadership, Ashguardsmen with the rank of Warden+ will still wear their previously standard-issue uniform. To add on, members of the Ashguard will now officially be allowed to make minor alterations to their helmet in order to allow for individuality within the Military. However, overall alterations of the rest of the uniform remain forbidden. Signed, Ragnvald Eiriksson Ruric, Marshal of the Ashguard, Prince of Norland, Ruler of Eiriksgrad.

  14. Letters from Chieftain Leyna of Clan Kazimir Listy od wodza Leyna z klanu Kazimir Issued the Eleventh of the Deep Cold, 46 S.A. To my People, my Family, my Kin, I, Leyna Kazimir, write to you now, not only as a compatriot and kinsman but as a Chieftain and the sole-inheritor of my late-Mother’s great family name. As the firstborn and eldest of my late-mother, Rebeka la Waevra, and late-father, Lomiei Vinelli, it is not only my honor to take up the mantle but my duty. It is then my prerogative to take up a new Clan name, befitting our Clan Mother’s legacy, a legacy wrought not by wrathful ambition but peaceful growth and the establishment of a peaceful place for all who followed her. In the Rozanian language the name Kazimir refers to a bringer of peace and it is for this reason that I have chosen it. A symbol of not only our clan’s past but a symbol to guide us into the future. Many of you, my people, my family, and my kin, have been spread across the Realm of Nyrheim following the tragic death of our Clan Mother. It is to you and your families I wish to give a home, a greater family, and a name to be proud of. 16. [!] After several discussions between High Keeper of Norland and Heir Regent of Elysium on the matter, a letter circulated through both Norland and Elysium: It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Outrider Matilda Osmond has passed into the Allfathers Halls. Mother of Aila and Raimyr, wife of High Keeper Dramyr Edvardsson Ruric, friend of everyone she came into contact with, we wish to extend invitation for her funeral which is to be held on the premises of Old Elysium: it was a place she held most dear and is where she shared many memories with her loved ones and fellow Rangers. Signed, High Keeper Dramyr Edvardsson Ruric Aylin de Astrea, Former Chief Diplomat to Norland, Heir Regent & Head Diplomat to Elysium
  17. The Northwind Post Year 36 of the Second Age --------------------------------------- The Pact of Ash and Scorpions A peace treaty was issued on the 2nd of the Amber Cold, 25 S.A. This treaty was between Norland and Krugmar, to not only be at peace, but to aid in wartime, allow free trade, and to respect borders. This treaty will allow those of Norland and Krugmar to have a better relationship, and better two nations in Almaris. The Pact of Ash and Stone A peace treaty and non-aggression pact was issued this past year, between Urguan and Norland. This agreement states that the Kingdoms should both avoid conflict, as well as enter into free trade. As long as laws are followed by citizens of both nations, there will be no tax or harassment, and the Kingdoms avoid conflict both with each other, but also with anyone who may put them at odds, the pact will be beneficial to both Kingdoms. Tournament in Elysium A tournament was held in Elysium, in the White Bear Tavern. Many showed up to fight for the Ruby Estrella championship belt. The Ruby Estrella is a star of which only comes every 100 years, a red star, that which many say, champions are born under its shine. Marshall in Norland Many are confused at recent events, not only with where the Rangers and Northguard are left, but with a lack of leadership in a Marshall. We can only hope, we will find one soon, to better all of Norland. Ferrymen Battle Raid threats have been consistent, but the Rangers and Northguard have got it covered. This past year, during the First Seed, as well as earlier in the year, there were threats of raids in Elysium. Those in the Northguard and Rangers, went to the gates, making sure women and children were safe, to take care of the Ferrymen. The Ferrymen retreated, after arguments at the tavern in Elysium. Skannari A battle was fought between the Skannari and Norland, leaving Norland victorious. However long the battle dragged on, there is sure to be another fight from the Skannari, as they do not easily accept defeat. In other news The First Agnethe Chess Tournament is being held by Daihbidh Sutharlainn, the chairman of Sutherland Corporation, which has branches around Almaris including Elysium and Varhelm. The match has many great players, but only one can be the winner. Contact Sutharlainn if you are interested in watching the matches. Varhelm still has plenty of houses available! If you are interested, talk to a Steward today! The Northguard is still recruiting. Talk to a Northguard today to join! If you have anything to add, please contact Rebeka la Waevra. ~ Rebeka la Waevra
  18. The flyer for the Tournament of Valiant Stars is posted around all of the nations of Almaris. The flyer looks to be made of sand paper, and would be written in cursive. It would also be pinned into the surface with a silver nail Come one come all, Elysium's Greatest fighting tournament shall be hosted in her own White Bear Tavern. Bring your presence, your will and best champions from the land to fight for the Ruby Estrella champion belt. The star that passes over the eastern hemisphere, this is the year to determine the true champion of the Ruby Estrella. The Ruby Estrella is a star of which only comes every 100 years, a red star so bright, it is said that those who look on believe it as beautiful as the northern stars. Many also believe that champions are born under its shine. Its an event that only comes around for that amount of time. And leaves for another Hundred years. So come to Elysium Two Saint months from now with all your champions, and bring them. To prove the champion of the Ruby Estrella, the true Valiant Stars. ||OOC: On Tuesday August 3rd at 2:30pm (latest est) I’ll be hosting this Fist PvP tournament, all races and nations are welcomed to come and fight, If you wish to apply early DM: ScarletFrisket#6545, Entry is 15 minas per fighter || Signed & made by:
  19. The Northwind Post Year 35 of the Second Age ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Undead in Elysium After a quick chat with the Lord Purifier, he revealed there was a spectral being that came into Elysium. It was only noticed due to the aurum across the gate. Rangers called upon the Purifiers and Orin took care of the spectral being, with the Lord Purifier and an aurum net. The creature's intentions were not clear, but there is bound to be speculation. The creature was purified, and thankfully no one was harmed. Marshal Attacked While on duty at the gatehouse Marshall Uruan was attacked by a ranger named Nym. His left ear was bitten off. The High Keeper held a trial at which Nym was punished for her actions against the Marshall. A small dwarf service was held for the ear which was subsequently buried. Military Meeting A meeting will be taking place this Stone Sunday between the King, The head of the NorthGuard and the Head rangers in an attempt to quench disputes and arguments that have occurred. Under the new Marshals reign the Rangers have had a difficult time figuring out their place in the military. Hopefully this meeting will clear things up for those in the military, and the citizens in need of protection. Threats Against the High Keeper A man came into Norland, during the Deep Cold, and was looking for Alisa Camian. Shouts were heard and fighting, due to this man, a Canonist, threatening to kill the High Keeper for her “sins”. He was slain, but it begs the question of why a Canonist would try to fight Norlanders alone, and is there more to this than just a religious battle. Skanarri Problems Norlanders went to go meet Chieftain Argos to discuss a peace treaty, and were ambushed by Skanarri who betrayed and killed Argos, and greatly wounded King Vane, Marshal Uruan Stormheart and several other members of the NorthGuard. They also captured Aylin De Astrea, the Heir to Elysium. Eventually the Skanarri were run off as reinforcements arrived. There have been attempts to rescue Alyin De Astrea, and after a Rangers Rescue Mission there was success. Aylin de Astrea returned to Elysium for medical treatment for her injuries. Brighter News Varhelm housing is still available. There are plenty of great houses available, and cheap too. 20 mina per year, a great deal, for the cheapest housing. The Ashwood tavern in Varhelm is hiring, and is constantly busy. Come on down for a drink. The Northguard is recruiting, and would love people to join them. Talk to Marshal Uruan Stormheart to join. The weather in Norland is cold in the upcoming weeks. Snow is forecasted for the next few weeks. Expect tremors in the North, something is happening recently in Almaris. Please act with caution in event of a quake. If anyone has anything they would like to add, please contact Rebeka la Waevra. ~ Rebeka la Waevra
  20. Posted along the streets of most major cities, a paper with bold writing hangs for all to read. "The Kingdom of Norland has proven on countless occasions they think not with their heads but with their greed and bloodlust. Now that I have your attention, my name is Inui R'ikarth. I wouldn't call myself anyone of grand importance, but I also wouldn't call myself a nobody, if only because of my participation in multiple kingdoms across the land. When I speak of my 'participation', I speak heavily of Norland, the place I started and for a while, the place I loved." "I'm an odd little Ker, No lineage to call my own except a single human man who I grew to consider my brother. Eugeo de Astrea. And its on his behalf that I write all this in the first place, as he and Elysium are suffering further abuse from their dictators in Varhelm. They've asked me to speak out on my story. He is the current lord of Elysium, my first home when I chose to finally leave a life in the woods. I found a family there, and even now I love and visit them. But it was not long that I got to spend with this family that Norland thrust us all into a needless war." "Young and naive at the time, I'll admit I was rather foolish, I probably still am. But I had good heart. Knowing nothing of the world, I was not so eager to believe Norlands lies that Oren was made up of monsters, that we had every right to wipe them out. Hearing that peace communications had gone unheard in Oren, I did a military's greatest nightmare, and ran off to Oren on my own volition hoping to achieve something for the peace effort, even if it wasn't my place." "I'll cut out some filler and spare you some details, but in my time there, I managed to achieve an audience with the Emperor, and to my pleasant surprise, he and his people were all kind and eager to help me find a peaceful path to ending the war. I hadn't yet realized it was my own kingdom at fault. With the Emperor's wishes for peace in hand, I returned to tell the news to the King. The King denied the chance I was giving him, and spoke only of desiring to see his axe in their heads. A perfect chance for peace, denied. I was forbidden by him to return or speak to the Orenians. But on top of being foolish, I was also stubborn. After many weeks of research and fact searching, I came to realize Norland's only goal with this war was to satiate their greed at the cost of not only Oren's people but Norland's as well. Despite Varhelm being so willing to go to war, they did little to nothing to aid their abused front line, my home, Elysium. My family was suffering such loss and pain over a war that never needed to happen in the first place, with no aid from those who brought all this pain over them. So despite being forbidden, I returned to Oren. I did so not to negotiate the end of the war, but to negotiate a way to save Elysium from Norland." "Unfortunately, before such a goal could be achieved, I was found out for going behind Norland's back after my participation in resolving an Orenian raid, and saving hostages was mentioned by name in an article." Copies of the Article are attatched "I was quickly summoned to the Palace to speak with the King's right hand, for what I assumed would be a harsh punishment. Despite that I still went, and to my confusion, what I found was seemingly the opposite. I was told that I was being inducted, not willingly mind you, into a new elite group that served the king, called the Red Hand. They said I was to be their diplomat, having seen my work. For a moment, I thought this was a good thing, that Norland was taking an opportunity to take a better path in the war. I was dreadfully wrong. In that same conversation, I was told my first assignment would be to abandon any efforts in Oren. I had a sick feeling, and realized quickly the only reason I was in the Red Hand, was to be managed. Or at least I thought, but it was so much worse. I asked them what I thought was an obvious question, as a diplomat, a representative of peace, I wouldn't be required to fight right? Wrong. Very wrong. They told me, and I quote," "The only peace left for you to find, is blood upon your blade." "They told me I would be required to fight, and that it would be at the front lines as well. A sense of dread filled me when I recalled, my summons had been written by the King, King Sven. He was man I called my friend, and I confided in him many times my frustrations because of my inability to fight, even after being taught. He knew this, and he's the one who summoned me to speak with his right hand. Knowing I had no skill to fight or defend myself, I was being ordered to the front lines of the war. This was just their way to kill me quietly." "I acted quickly, taking my things and fleeing from Norland all together. At the time, many of my family in Elysium were upset with me for the events of the article previously mentioned. Knowing their anger at me, I told no one except Eugeo that I left, and it broke my heart. I fled to the only other place I knew anything about in this realm, Oren. They gave me a heroes welcome, and worked with me to cover up the fact I had fled, making up the story they had instead arrested me as a spy for my sake. For my efforts, I was granted the position of diplomat for Oren, and for a while enjoyed a peaceful life there. So the war waged on. Despite it, I snuck into Elysium to visit Eugeo what rare times I could, and eventually I was spotted and found out." "Norland was expectedly upset. And many times tried to attack me, even while I was pregnant and unarmed. My visits to Elysium were cut down tremendously due to Varhelms hostility towards me. But eventually, the war was over. Once it was over, I was eager to see my friends again and went to pay them a visit. My family in Elysium was rather angry at me, until I told them the story behind why I left. It was a blessing to reunite with them. As I was speaking with one friend in Varhelm, I wanted to ask him about something. In my time away, I had heard heard rumors that during the war time, Norland has called me a war criminal. I asked him if those rumors had been true or not." "The current Norlandic King, Vane Freysson, who was at the time on the kings council, took note of me and my conversation. Despite once again being peaceful and unnamed, he decided to take it upon himself, with the help of an insane dwarf, to attack me. I tried to reason with them, never once fighting back but they chose to chase me. They ran me well out of Norland's borders but despite that, still knocked me out and dragged me back Norland. There Vane officially banished me as a proper war criminal, by threat of execution should I ever return. They told me I could leave this once without issue. But his associates decided I was better off dead before I could even leave. They found an excuse to kill me through my atronach prosthetics. Some time ago, I unfortunately lost both my legs and one of my arms and now wear magical limbs to function. For the crime of wanting to have limbs to function at a basic level, they decreed I was a void monster, and that I had to die. It was only through the grace of the Elysium Rangers, my family, that I was able to flee from Norland." "And so we come to the present. Elysium now faces tyranny from Norland, partly so because of how they've defended me on multiple accounts. False accusations of breaking the law and not upholding it have been levied towards the Rangers. Elysium has been stripped of military rights and attempts have even been made to arrest them. I tell you this now, Elysium is the only reason Norland is still even standing. Elysium is a shining example of people who are just, kind, and strong. Norland repays that with tyranny, sabotage, and abuse." "I had no intentions on ever making this story public, but after seeing Elysium bleeding and hurting, I decided to do so, here it is. My personal account of the abuse I have faced from Norland, all for wanting peace and for valuing my life. I hope this could shed some light on the reality of what I now call the Bloodthirst Kingdom." P.S. - Guess what Norland? I sneak into Elysium. Banishment wont stop me from seeing my family. -Inui R'ikarth ~Ambassador of Stygian Hollow, Head of Clan R'ikarth, Stygian Hollow Council Member.

  22. Anonymously, Sheet music is left posted along various tavern doors, church doors, and town centers around the kingdom of Norland. The parchment if of high grade and the characters while in the common language, have blocky print to them.. A telltale sign of dwarven handwriting. A note is attached at the top of the sheet music simply reads "Enjoy the melody, for a nation worthy of song" -A.F. 23. The Rænrland Canal Route Issued: 1st of First Seed, Year 30 of the Second Age Since the claiming of the Rænrland by the Kingdom of Norland, many have sought to expand southwards to benefit themselves from these lands. However, due to the remote nature of these lands and the terrain itself being difficult to navigate, only a mere fraction of the populace has put their aspirations of going into these lands and made it into a reality. Recently, however, the completion and subsequent hosting of Clan O’Hara’s welcoming party of their Keep, have laid the groundwork for the true expansion of the Rænrland to begin. As of publishing this document, the King Council has approved and has begun construction of a new road into the Rænrland with the support of Clan Ohara of Elysium. But for all the potential of these lands, and the prospects of adding a new trade route through the south that could even unite the Grand Kingdom of Urguan via a singular roadway, the need for a more efficient and streamlined means of travel through the Rænrland has become a necessity. The people of Norland have accepted this truth even when the Kingdom of Norland has first claimed these lands, but only now has the opportunity been given to establish these means of travel. And thus, is with great honour that I, Kalvaroth Vallel’kor, with support from Clan O’Hara of Elysium, The Masons Guild of Varhelm, and the honorary Kings Council present to the great people of Norland: The Rænrland Canal Project This canal project would begin at the southernmost way of Lake Eada, through the gorge borders of the Highlands and the Volcanic mounts, then exiting out into Lake Hakon. This project is community funded, however, and invite others to join in my apparitions to conquer these lands for ourselves in the name of our great nation. I’ll be accepting any forms of donations for this grand project, where it be labourers, minas, or materials, with the pledge to give credit to all named contributors of the project in a carved plaque following the construction of this canal. The work for this canal may already be underway, but as it is still in its infancy, it is nowhere near too late to pledge yourself to this project and assist in the grand project. And following its construction, a new ferry route from Varhelm to the Rænrland can be established, opening up an incomprehensibly untold amount of opportunities to arise from these endeavours. If you wish to assist in this construction, you may contact Kalvaroth Vallel’kor, high ranking members of the O’Hara Clan, members of the Masons Guild, or Kings Council to pledge your support in this project. Alternatively, donations chest shall be placed at the ferry docks of Varhelm and Elysium with all excess donations post-construction going to future community projects like this one. Signed: Kalvaroth Vallel’kor, Project Lead Éléonore O’Hara de Astrea, Chieftainess of Clan O’Hara Oliver O’Hara, Chieftain of Clan O’Hara Sven II, King of Norland, Duke of Varhelm, Protector of Highlanders
  24. A Volatile Week Happy mid week Norland, this is Hanelore writing to you and everyone around the kingdom, here are the main headlines this week: Skanarri Raiders Skanarri Raiders intend to capture the Lunner Keep, an unmanned fort. Northguard and Rangers are halting their advances to do so. They could potentially split the land transportation between Varhelm and Elysium, gaining them a defensive hold in Norland. Northguard and Rangers plan to rally, mobilize a vessel, and defend with ballista or cannon fire. Sadly during this we lost Hali Kvitravn. Underestimating the numbers of the opposing numbers, Hali rushed into the fray. He was cut off from allies by a large group of the savage tribesmen. Hali fought valiantly until the end, though due to overwhelming numbers he was slashed in the neck, before being shoved down a hill. May the All Father keep him. Ireheart Dwarves raid Varhelm A group of seven Ireheart Clan members recently snuck into Varhelm, attempting to rob citizens right in front of the Ashwood Tree. One brave citizen managed to send word to a family member in Elysium, leading to a rally call going out for Rangers from the Duchy to fight off the attackers. Meanwhile, Warden Edric Vildr ran to Varhelm and managed to ring the bell there, summoning the Northguard as well. A mixed force of civilians, Rangers, Northguard, and even a ferryman engaged the Irehearts, driving them out of the city successfully. No major injuries were received by citizens of Norland. Canal and Settlement of the Raenrland Plans are reaching fruition for a canal to be built to the Raenrland and the O'Hara Keep, the project is expected to take course over the next few years and will culminate with a settlement being built in the region. Further development of the region may follow with easier water access. In the meantime a road is being built south, please keep an eye on the traffic reports for updates in this project. The king has announced intentions to establish a forward camp in the region to kickstart the process of taming the wilderness. Folk are encouraged to employ their woodcraft, survival, and hunting skills to aid in the work. Contact King Sven if you wish to offer your services. The Hearth Forum The First Hearth Forum gathering will be held later this year (Saturday 5PM EST). Things to look forwards to in the next coming days: Several hunts are taking place, please be sure to contact Alric Edvardsson with any questions. Weather, traffic and threats It's gonna be another cold one up here, expect some more snow coming in from the north with gusts of rain blowing in from the west from over the ocean near Haense. Traffic is clear mostly on the main roads leading in, do expect some congestion around the main gates at Elysium and Varhelm as per usual. Some back ups on the road to the O’Hara keep as works are expected there until the near future. The current threat level is at a somewhat high alarm, please keep an eye out for bandits, Skanarri and Irehearts while traveling in and around the kingdom and report any and all activity if you see them within the area. 25. [!] In the maplewood forests on the road to Norland, a rather horrific scene of a severed head that seems to be an MRA soldier hanging from a lone maple tree. It ominously swings with each subtle gust of wind. The head would clearly be fresh, exhibiting an emotion of pure terror. Attached to the head is a note, written in blood. Around the tree, blood would be spattered everywhere, showing that more than one MRA soldier fell victim to the wrath of Norland. [!] " To the MRA, It has been brought to my attention that the MRA has been continuously harassing innocents of Norland on our own roads. We, the kind-folk of Elysium have not failed to notice that you all turn tail and run at the first sight of a true warrior of Norland descent. While you cower in fear in the bushes of the Maplewood forest as a soldier walks by, you willingly jump out to harass and torture innocent civilians. An act of true cowardice, and a clear example of abhorrent behavior. There's been a continuous argument on whether those that follow the Red Faith are pagans or not. I offer this open-ended question; what would you call someone who tortures an innocent woman, brands her, and sends her back to her town? What would you call someone who massacres a town of innocents, including women and children? That's right, Pagans. If you thought otherwise, you yourself are a pagan. Nevertheless, I don't give a damn if you think I'm a pagan or not. There has to be someone to call judgement upon those who prey on the innocent. I, along with some other good people, am offering myself to speed up the process of karma to befall upon you fools. Go ahead and pray to your false god, I'll be kind and send you to him. After a few excruciating hours of course. Maybe you'd consider what the point of this letter is. It's a warning and a sign of clarification. I'm just merely spelling it out for you. You are no longer hunting the innocent on our roads. We are hunting you. I truly hope you're naïve enough to ignore this warning. I promise you, we will be waiting. Love, The One Eye'd Raven Absolon de Astrea"
