It is with great joy that we announce the union between Ser Caspian Layland and Lady Frida Colborn, who, after a long courtship, have finally decided to lay down their roots and cement their vows before the watchful gaze of the creator. We of HOUSE COLBORN find not only marriage to be an act most sacred, but the family resulting thereof is to us, one of the greatest miracles of man. Our hopes are for the future of the two to be bright, filled with laughter and joy, and likewise for hardships that they can both overcome and do so together. To this extent, we forward invitations and our plans so that all that might, those invited, and the good men and women of the canon, can lay witness.

T H E   P R O C E E D I N G S

The Wedding

We will gather in the city square of New Valdev, from which we will travel to the County of Malkovya and utilize the stave church of the White Flame. There, the union will occur through the Jorenic Rite. The bride and groom will be wed before their peers by either the Pontiff or Patriarch Jorenus.

 

The Wedi Bridlop

When the wedding ceremony is completed, and the two wed, all invited are asked to join in on the elder scyfling tradition of Wedi Bridlop. Where all those present are to race to the capital city of New Valdev, where all are to dine, in its grand feast hall. The bride and groom are traditionally afforded a horse, while all else are to run or walk, and the last man or woman to make it to the feast hall is to pour drinks to the guests there.
