Privej good men and women, of both the hordes or towns. Finally, may the open ears hear this - the Dumapalooza has a camp to base out of, and many electors at the ready!

 

Wanderers near and far of Adrian descent, come by the old camp St. Michael between Rubern and Helena (X: -270 Z: -1340) and behold the host there! Expect the following revelry and good times:

 

Performances by the old Hibou Plongeant! Elector Timothee de Fontaine and his merry band shall play fair and fun tunes and the like for those about!

 

Drinks by the renowned Mr. Roger! Drunkeness to prepare for, and celebrate the Dumapalooza will be encouraged as it always has by the electors of the Duma!

 

Our election itself - the be all, end all, for deciding our Duke! This should be self explanatory, as it should explain what the vote is for, yes!

 

The Duma itself - we shall vote on the direction of the Duchy hereafter, via a great Duma itself!

DEAR SIR OR MADAM,

 

I thank Mister Ratispora for his considerate invitation.

 

The accomplishments of my lord father shall forever paint their own niche upon the tapestry of man. Adrian Leopold, being Duke of our restored realm, was called by Providence to assume a far greater responsibility of state. At the demise of the late Alexander II, he was declared Lord Protector of the Realm, and charged with the most supreme of responsibilities; the restoration of a fallen Empire.

 

In time, my lord father would fulfill his duty. Taking up our people from their country estates, he found Helena a ruin, and left it a ruby; honoring the fair lady’s graces, and also her profound reputation as the gem of all humankind. Together with the Count of Harlingen, he established the Imperial State Army, the remains of which had been splintered years earlier by the Dissolution of the Legions. Tending towards his reforming spirit, he fostered over the first session of the Imperial Senate, and in his most profoundly lasting of edicts, declared that the separation of judiciary and government be codified in law.

 

My lord father’s subservience to the good of his countrymen was cut short only by the mortal wounds which he received while scaling the walls of Moch-Orc, delivering righteous vengeance for the humiliation which the arrogant orcish tribesmen had delivered just years prior upon one of his subject lords.

 

Truly, my lord father had a vision for our people. With the collapse and demise of the Pax Orenia, the death and exodus of a great many statesmen and soldiers, ever-benevolent Motherland called for eminently capable men to service Her Holy Orenian Empire. If no others would rise to the occasion, it would be the Adrian people who would come to Her aid in the finest hour She faced.

 

My lord father’s vision is not yet complete. Even still, the Empire calls for good men to fill Her ranks. I intend to be elected by this venerable body of noble and genteel persons alike, Duke of Adria, my lord father’s son and patrimony, and executor of his most righteous cause.

Blessed be the parchment upon which you invited me, for you have shown to carry the utmost integrity to invite our honorable people to elect a new stone yurt lord for Adria. While we Karamanoğulları are not invested in these decadent affairs, we profoundly feel that you can be the People's Bey even if you are not destined to be a legal one. Our attendance and vote are guaranteed, but I insist on the presence of Hookah and cactus green for my entourage.

Never had I thought to see the day in which great Adria, the provincial cradle of playwrights, wordsmiths and poets, and which I hold in only the highest of regard, would rise from the heights of dormancy and ruin to lighten yet another mainland. Verily, I had never seen, but have read of the tragedies that would time and time again befall these landmarks and cities that our fathers cherished. Kingdoms and empires had grown to insurmountable power and renown, only to fall and be lost within the dreadful annals of history. All would be forgotten eventually, as is the natural course of things; all but Adria, for it is unlike most, and folk would see it awaken always in the least favourable of odds. It is one graced with such integrity, such candor that the rot of time alone is not sufficient to have it truly lost or done away with. And I, a descendant of the once-known Bracchusian bloodline have also been nadir; rock-bottom. Ours is the blood of Saints and great men, true symbols of the golden age and folks who had hefted the burden of entire cities on their backs. Ours is of virtuous blood, not water, and just like our cherished Adria, we will see the name of our old progenitors and ancestors rise from ash.
