Problem is, players complain about a lot of villains just wanting to win.. I don't think VA's are working and they certainly aren't new-player friendly.

For a long time, VAs were a big source of "edgy assassins". It was near impossible to get accepted unless you had a special snowflake character, and this led to edgies everywhere.

If VAs were removed, edgies would decrease. Normal players would have the ability to moderate themselves through roleplay, rather than an arbitrary and archaic application that only scares off noobs.

A gm is a global moderator. That means they moderate /all/ lord of the craft associated thingies such as foums, teamspeak,in game and LOTC orientated skype chats. SMs on the other hand are server moderators. They just moderate in the server. Hope this cleared things up :)
