Herod 808 Popular Post Share Posted December 6, 2021 Kaustantin Baruch: Gone Farming Spoiler A broken man walked through the halls of the Winter Palace in the dead of night, bottle in hand. It was a regular occurrence to him by now, spending sleepless nights with a warm drink in his grasp to ease his pain, his suffering, his rot.The man stood atop on the gallery floor in the Duma chamber as his memories flooded in, hand clutching the railing as he closed his eyes; He was still a merry boy with a trusty Prince by his side. Both of them weren’t burdened by the world or their oaths to keep it protected. They were simply Sigismund and Kaustantin back then. ”Can you lift the Bulava, Baruch Boy?””I’m trying!” It felt like a sharp sting in his heart as he recalled the low tone of Igor Kort, beckoning him to lift the ceremonial mace of state. He never knew how much meaning it would have in his later years. A leal Lord Palatine must always lift his Bulava, but holding it for years is a different story. Here he was, the Lord Palatine of a prosperous Kingdom, a complete opposite of its current state, he was broken, decrepit and hated himself for all his actions. The rot within him had completely consumed him to abandon his principles, family and friends. To lose two children before even seeing their eyes was too much of Godan’s anvil. He exited the Palace on an impulse, the cold breeze of the Northern wind caught up with the man, he shuddered from it. How weak of a man he was to greet the weather in such a manner after being raised all his life in the Highlander realm. Descending down the stairs, he cast a glance to the tavern as the light of the crackling fire was only visible, a sudden memory flashed in his eyes as he remembered sitting beside it. ”Constant is your suffering, Kaustantin Baruch, that is the meaning of your name.” The flooding prophecy of Franz Morovar sent the Palatine stumbling back into the Keep, remembering that he couldn’t escape his fate, that death is imminent for a man like him. He slowly made his way onto the Royal Gardens, closing the door behind him slowly. He began to make his way onto the Royal Residence with his Bulava in hand. Spoiler “I will not let it happen.” His words for the past year were sorrowful and slow yet now, they were firm, he clenched his fist and began climbing up the stairs of the Residence. As he reached the floor of the King's chambers, the Palatine placed the Golden Bulava down near his door. He added a small note next to it.“Gone Farming.”And so, Kaustantin Baruch turned around and left the Royal Quarters, going onto his own residence as the sun began to rise. He woke up his wife and daughter, Mathea and Fenika and ushered them to begin packing, he would not let his suffering consume himself no longer, unburdened. His carriage left the Capital before the crows cawed for morning, as they reached the plot of land near Valwyck, he couldn’t help but crack a small grin at the small estate Eirik had given him at the edge of the Kingdom. Perhaps it would make his tomorrow brighter. Spoiler It takes a great pain for me to leave something I don't really wish to, I've been here for 8 months and I can only say it has been an absolute blast, I've met genuine people that showed me the critique of quality roleplay and became friends along the way. I didn't wish to write this post, but real life is always first in priorities, and I'll probably be gone for the coming three years save for weekends when I've got time to play. So please don't take this as a final goodbye, you can always log off but never quit ;-) I want to thank foremost @Sarmadonn for giving the chance to play Kaustantin, you took a new player with a risk, thank you for it buddy.@Xarkly We did a lot of shit together, roleplay or OOC, despite this, you're a real pal and I hope NLing doesn't prove to burden you a lot.@JuliusAakerlund The man who shaped Kaustantin to be who he is, thanks for it dude, enjoy your retirement.@Gusano I've taken a great pleasure working alongside you, apart from roleplaying with you, real homie. And here's a thank you for people who I loved roleplaying with:@biggestdon@kaylaa@indiana105@Fie@UnBaed@Frymark@MotherLay@livrose@Fionn__TWG@Mady@erictafoya@Borin And if I forgot to mention you here, just know that it also includes you, mwah.

Mady 3154 Share Posted December 6, 2021 "Wha' the fock is wrong with him?" Margot asked upon hearing of her cousin's departure. "Ah'll have t' give him a wack on his head, the odd bastard." Scoffed the women as she rubbed her forehead, a headache oncoming.

Fionn__TWG 2623 Share Posted December 6, 2021 Fionn Castaway would wake on his Valwyck fishing boat to the distant sound of a carriage unpacking. He'd look out to find the retired Palatine and his family settling in their new home. The hungover senior would thus begin to crankily shout at the trio, though they'd likely barely hear it, if at all. "Oi! Tú may be Palatine, but tú come anywhere near me, and I have plenty of bottles to smash over túr head!" the man then went to his morning Carrion Black, noticing how little were left "Maybe it's time I went back to restock." Father Klaus went on a weekly ride of his atop his steed St. Tylos II. He'd make his way along the lake of Valwyck, gazing out towards it's clear waters and the life which swam around it. In front of him he'd spot Kaustantin and his family setting up near the lake. He'd smile to himself at the man's new found happiness, before signing the Hussariyan Cross towards the family "May dein retirement be long und free of burden, und protected by Godan. Amin." He'd then make a small diversion begin to move around the house rather than through it. The man deserved his peace. Spoiler It's been a fun few months man. I'll remember the times we had waiting for people to emote during peace negotiations, the general tomfoolery, and of course, the serious rp once in a blue moon, for a long time. Gonna miss you while you're gone, but such is life, and I look forward to the times where you can come back. until then, see ya around.
livrose 1594 Share Posted December 6, 2021 'Gone Farming' had been Sig's simple reply when she asked where Kaustantin had disappeared off to. That night as she set Josef down, Emma lingered a moment, recalling the very morning before. The Lord Palatine holding the babe in the square... how frail he seemed. How unwilling to let go. Shaking those saddened thoughts out of mind, the Koenas decided on something that she could do. She would send him the next batch of her baking endeavours, to cheer and remind him of home.
indiana105 2507 Share Posted December 6, 2021 Ser Viktor 'the Beast' Baruch shed a single tear, realizing he may never see the Lord Palatine's wife again. And Kaustantin too, of course. A visit to the farms was not something he could stomach. He'd spent far too much time in the fields of Valwyck, using their wheat to bake bread in order to make bread on the auction house.
Sander 3159 Share Posted December 6, 2021 Feodor May sighed as he heard Kaustantin had officially stepped down. He was staring at the book he tried reading, yet couldn't really focus. The Lord Palatine had told him he'd be stepping down soon, but it only really now dawned on Feodor how much he'd miss working with the man he'd known since he was little. "Must be some damn good cabbages..."
CopOwl 1668 Share Posted December 6, 2021 (edited) While Dame Lynette Mendez cared little - and only in her Knightly loyalties as protector - for the sudden absence of the Lord Palatine, and she was constantly preoccupied by her own thoughts while absent from her duties, she lowered her head in remembrance of her once friend, Aaron @Herod, who she had not seen for many years and remember fondly their time spent together as younger soldiers. "I hope you are happy, wherever you ended up, Friend." The Resolute murmurs to herself with a solemn grimace before she turns her eyes back to the pages of her book. Mio 3797 Share Posted December 6, 2021 "Took him long enough," Otto August murmured from within a tower of his keep."It's quite unfortunate to have a papej who is a literal prophet, people take vyr wisdom for less. I told you Kaustantin, the best way to enjoy everything you've done is to finally let it go." The man perhaps could've taken his own advice, for thereafter he continued the endless amount of work he himself had to endure.

garentoft 8358 Share Posted December 6, 2021 Eirik sighed upon hearing the news, for whilst he was afraid to admit it, Kaustantin had been a father figure and a mentor to him. Would he ever swallow his pride and tell him so?
